Finally on the Same Page
I threw my arm over my face with a grunt as the insistent knocking on my door got more urgent. My aching body protested as I sat up to look around my apartment. Natsu was gone but the spot where he normally sleeps was warm so he wasn't gone that long. I sighed heavily as I grabbed my robe which was hanging on my headboard and threw it on.
"What?!" I shouted to the abusers of my door. The mischievous giggles and smiles or Mira, Lisanna, Erza and Cana greeted me. "We see you had a splendid night." Cana teased as I tried to wrap my robe up to my neck so they'd stop staring at the hickies.
"What do you want?" I tried to shift my weight to one side but winced as my legs were really sore.
"Did you manage to go to the restaurant?" Cana asked as I blushed and dropped my eyes to the ground. She set up that date for me but I spent all night with Natsu. "Um… no…" I mumbled sheepishly as Lisanna shouts pointing to Erza, "Ah ha! You owe me and Mira 200 jewel."
I glanced at her confused as Erza retorted, "we don't know why she didn't go on the date."
"I...uh…" I sheepishly mumbled just as the fire dragon slayer wandered out of the bathroom in just his boxers. "Who's at the door Luce?"
The looks that crossed the faces of my friends were hysterical, honestly. Cana exploded into boisterously obnoxious laughter as Mira asked, "did you even plan to go on the date?"
"Well, I did but was.. um… distracted." I lamely answered as I looked at Lisanna and Erza, who were bright red. Natsu threw his arm over me and pulled me away from the door. "As you can see, Lucy is mine. If any of you set her up on another date, you'll have to fight me." He then slammed the door in their faces.
"I hope you two used protection!" Was shouted from the other side of the door. Natsu looked at me with a dreamy expression. "I'm on birth control. Mira made me get it when I joined." I looked at Natsu in confusion. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"You are so fucking beautiful." He replied, pulling me toward him. I could feel his physical desire awake and ready for attention.
"Didn't you get enough last night? We only slept for…" I turned to look at my clock, "...an hour."
"I'll never get enough of you, Gorgeous. " I smiled and tilted my head toward his to meet his lips with mine.
"Yooouuu loooovee eaaach otherrr!" Came the sing song teasing voice of Happy. Out of habit, I pushed Natsu back and turned to the cat.
"Shut up!" I shouted before turning to Natsu, "did you use all the hot water?"
"If I had known you would want one too, I would have waited until you were awake. We could have taken one together." He looked me over before adding, "Are you sore?"
I swear my face felt like someone set it on fire. "Shoo! I need to shower, then find something to eat. I don't have much to eat here and I still haven't gotten paid from the other job."
He looked around for a moment before shouting, "Ah ha!" And pulling out his wallet. "You enjoy your shower, and I will bring you something to eat."
"Natsu…" I began, completely flattered he'd use his money to get me food, "...you don't have to do that."
"Of course I do!" He said before pulling me toward him. "I love it when you let me take care of you Luce."
I smiled at him in gratitude before limping to the bathroom. My body felt sore but satisfied as I sat on my couch, ready for Natsu to arrive. As I started to doze off, a tug on my magic made me groan in exhaustion.
"Well you seem cozy." The lion smirked cheerily. "Who did you have your tryst with? I felt you gave your spirit to them."
I glared at the nosey lion spirit as he gazed at me in amusement. "I thought you and Natsu were starting something."
I blushed as I looked down toward my feet and mumbled, "... I was with Natsu."
He looked at me like I was crazy, "You went at it all night. There is no way Natsu Dragneel has the stamina."
I looked at him for a moment before tilting my head and asked, "When did you meet him? He had a fiancé before she…" I put quotations with my fingers, "died."
"I get what you're saying but I knew them both, Lucy. And I'm telling you, there is no way Natsu and Lisanna did anything with each other before she died." He said as he gazed at me in concern. "Are you two together now?"
I bit my bottom lip in thought before mumbling, "...I don't know. I think so but…" I sighed in frustration as my stomach grumbled. I was hungry but now I didn't want to talk to Natsu. "I know he has feelings for me but he hasn't exactly said… well he said I was his."
"What do you want from him?" Leo asked as I paused to ponder on his question. "What about Lisanna? I shouldn't continue this with him if they plan to get married later." I sighed as I felt my heart squeeze. "I should tell him that we can't continue this… we should just be friends. But…he's not that kind of guy to lead a girl on when he intends to be with someone else is he?" "What are you going to do?" Leo asked as he watched my internal battle before we both jumped at the thump that came from my bedroom. He leaped up ready for battle.
"What are you doing here?" Natsu glared at the lion spirit as the lion spirit got into position to lunge.
"Loke, Stop!" I ordered as he glared at the dragon slayer.
"What the fuck is your problem?" Natsu glared back ready for a fight with one hand and a bag in the other.
"Hey! Stop!" I yelled, getting between the two males who were about three seconds from lunging at each other. Natsu thrusted the bag in my hand and pulled me behind him.
"Natsu, please stop." I whispered, hoping he'd cool down and turn to me. He sighed as he pulled me in front of him so my back was to his front and wrapped his arms around me.
"Get your hands off my mistress!" Loke shouted as he pulled me from Natsu's arms.
"Woah! I thought we were friends! What the hell is wrong with you?" Natsu glared, and I could see and feel his pain.
"I can feel when her emotions are intense. Unfortunately, that means I, along with my brothers and sisters, can feel when you two fuck. I'm happy pretending that she would be with someone who wasn't a part of a guild. Someone who I hadn't met before. But instead she's with you."
Natsu flinched before asking, "What's wrong with me?"
"I respect you Natsu. I know you. I have fought you and by you for three years. I typically don't think too fondly of people but you and Fairy Tail..." he stops to gather his thoughts. "When you hurt her, the one
mistress I've had in years who treats me and my comrades like friends, like family and not puppets, I have to hate you. One of the few decent humans I've encountered in my hundreds of years of life. So I might as well start now."
Natsu blinked as I stared at Loke. I was touched at his attempt to protect my heart but I sighed as I tried to figure out how to tell him that I would deal with it when we got there. Before I could respond, Natsu dropped to his knees and bowed toward Loke. We both turned to look at him.
"I will worship her. I'll do my fucking best to never hurt her but If I did, I would move heaven and earth to make it better. Her heart is my treasure and I pledge my life to protect it. On Dragon's honor."
My face was hot as I turned to Leo.
He rolled his eyes and said to Natsu. "Get up. I thought I'd enjoy you groveling at my feet but it's pathetic to watch." Natsu got to his feet, his face a little red as he gazed at me for a moment before turning to Leo. "What do you want me to say to make this right and gain your trust?" Loke took a few steps toward Natsu and held out his hand. Natsu grabbed it.
"Nothing at the moment. But I expect you to take care of my mistress. She's stubborn and rash but her heart is pure gold." Loke turns to me and says in the ancient celestial language, Enochian, "your pussy must be heavenly for him to bow at me like that." He laughs at his joke before returning to the spirit world. My face still felt hot as I watched a bright smile spread across his face that spoke directly to my libido and heart.
"You need to eat, Luce. Then when you are done, I'll bury my head between your legs and then we'll meet Happy at the guild." He said as he guided me to my couch.
S-Class and Other Announcements
I giggled as Natsu pulled me through the door to the guild, stopping a few times to poke me in the side. I would smack his hand playfully and grab his hand and he would pull me forward.
"I need to borrow the prettiest girl in the guild." Cana slurred as she pulled me from Natsu's grasp. Natsu glared at her before pouting to me.
"It'll be fine. Where is Happy?" I asked as I turned to walk with Cana.
"Are you and Natsu together?" Mira asked as she handed me a glass of water.
"Mira, I wanted to ask about the date!" Cana asked as she looked me over in knowing amusement. "She has the posture of a girl who…"
"OK CANA!" I shouted as I felt my face flush because everyone turned to me. "Hey Brats! Listen up!" Master Makrov's voice bellowed across the guild. "Tomorrow is the start of the S Class Trials. This year's candidates are Levy, Mest, Juvia, Natsu, Gray, Cana, Freed, and Elfman. You can pick one partner and meet at the docks at zero six hundred. Pick well and I will see you all tomorrow."
I glanced around as the guild bussled in excitement.
I turned to Mira and asked, "What are the S- Class trials?"
"Every year Fairy Tail holds trials to promote from within so wizards can take higher paying jobs." Cana explained as she looked at me in mischief. "Will you be my partner?"
I looked at her in shock before glancing toward Natsu who was adamantly talking with Happy and Lisanna. I sighed as I turned to her. "Sure."
Natsu will probably have Happy as his partner so I figured I could help her.
"Luce…" A whimper forced me to turn to Natsu before he wrapped himself around me and rubbed his cheek on me like a cat. "How could you?"
"How could I what? You have Happy as your partner, are you scared I can make Cana beat you?" I said, hoping his competitive fire would spark.
He glared at me for a moment before glancing at Cana. "I think I can take her." He said before looking at me. "With you by her side, she might be a challenge."
I smiled before saying, "After she beats you, next year I'll be nominated and beat you too."
He tilted his chin up, which he does when he is proud, and said, "I won't hold back if you don't, gorgeous."
Good, he is excited to fight, not mad. "Mira, did my last job send payment?"
"Oh yes!" She said as she handed me an envelope with the funds. "They paid more than they advertised with a note."
The note said, "sorry we killed you, hope this helps." My eye twitched as I glared at it.
Natsu read it over my shoulder before snatching it from my hand and igniting it in a small fire. "I should burn that island to the ground." He mumbled, I looked at him in shock before glancing around but I don't think anyone else heard it. "
Well, I guess we should spend the rest of the day relaxing and finding something fun to do." Happy said before landing on my head.
"Hey Lucy, Can you summon Loke for me?" Gray asked as he walked up to the bar. I looked at him for a moment before summoning the lion. "Open! Gate of the Lion, Leo." Ding, Dong.
"Hey Gray wants to speak with you." I explained as Cana tapped my shoulder. I let him talk to the ice mage and gave my attention to her.
"Ok, Since you are now my partner…" She started as Natsu growled.
"Temporarily!" He interjected.
She rolled her eyes as she continued, "...can I come over and we will talk strategy before we board the boat."
"Sure, and I'll make dinner too." I say as she glances at Natsu smugly.
"You would make a good wife, Lucy. Right, Gray?" She teased, nudging the ice mage in the ribs. He turned and looked at me with a smirk.
"She definitely would. " He finally replied as I felt Natsu get riled up.
"LOVE RIVAL!" A shout from the other end of the guild caused me to roll my eyes. No matter how many times she is told I don't want Gray, she doesn't seem to listen. "Why not!" Gray shouted which startled me into listening to his conversation with Loke.
"I can't stand against my key holder. I'm her strongest spirit, it would put Cana at a disadvantage. I can't ask her to do that." Loke explained as I considered his words. "Yes you can." I piped up, ignoring Cana's squawk. "Think of it like a training exercise. I need to practice more with star dress and I could use the challenge. You aren't my only powerful spirit."
"Are you sure about this Princess? You won't be able to star dress as me while I am against you." He explained, concern and uncertainty oozing from him.
"Yes Leo, it'll be fine. Don't hold back either. When Cana beats Gray, I don't want him to think you played him." I say bumping his shoulder with my hand. "It'll be fun."
"You've been spending too much time with Aquarius. You and her have the same competitive spirit " He said before turning to Gray. "You heard the lady, I'm on your side man."
I looked around the guild to see the other candidates and saw Elfman and Evergreen huddled in a corner, Freed and Bickslow glaring at them, Levy being picked up by Gajeel with Jet and Droy crying, Wendy was talking to a boy I didn't recognize but assumed that was Mest, and Juvia was whispering to Lisanna. "Lucy!" Someone shouted which jumped me from my thoughts. "Yes?" I turned to face Mira.
"Oh no, pretty girl you are settling our bet once and for all." Cana announced as the guild went quiet. I felt my face flush as I prayed she wouldn't ask about my relationship with Natsu. But the heavens laughed at my request.
"Are you and the resident flame brain doin it?" She asked as I felt completely hot. Natsu, the socially inept dummy he can be threw his arm around my shoulders and shouted, "Lucy is mine and anyone who has an issue with it can fight me!"
It was silent then screams of "what?!" And "how does an idiot get not one but two hot girls throwing themselves at him" and "told ya" ran through the guild as Mira pulled a box and started distribution and collection of jewel across the guild.
"Jealousy always wins. I knew he wouldn't let you go on that date so I won the bet." Cana shouted.
"You guys bet on this?" I asked, looking around my found family in amusement and irritation.
"I need to pack, I'll see you at your house in an hour." Cana said as she stood ready to leave.
I heard Natsu grumble so I said, "make it two hours."
"Wow big boy, two hours huh?" She teased Nastu before leaving. I rolled my eyes as the shy guild members turned red and the rambunctious ones laughed in amusement.
I sighed before turning to Natsu. "I guess rain check on finding something fun to do guys." I pulled Happy off my head and handed him to Natsu. "I should get food for the night so I can cook tonight."
Natsu pouted before saying, "we can go shopping together."
"Aye sir!" Happy agreed as I smiled at my.. is he my boyfriend? I will ask him later, I thought as I let him pull me out of the guild.
The Night Before
I watched Natsu load all the meat he bought into my refrigerator as I wanted to ask him about our status. But I also felt like I was sitting on pins and needles every time I thought about the trials. Something felt… wrong but I couldn't put it into words. "Luce?" Natsu's voice jumped me from my thoughts.
"Sorry, what?" I asked sheepishly as I realized both him and Happy have been trying to get my attention for a while. "What were you thinking about?" Happy asked as Natsu, who was done putting up my groceries, turned to me.
I didn't want them to worry so I said, "what I am going to cook tonight."
"Can We stay? We love your cooking." Natsu whined as Happy glared at him. "She is the enemy, Natsu! She may try to poison your food so you can't compete tomorrow." Happy accused as I glared at him.
"We aren't enemies until tomorrow cat! But since Cana wants to talk strategy, I should kick you two out but I'll compromise and make a small lunch you two can have tomorrow. Deal?" I said as I held my hand out for the cat to shake. "And it will be poison free, I promise."
"Well since you two loooovee eaaach otherrr." He snickered, "I'll accept your deal." He shook my hand and turned to Natsu. "I'll see you at home, Natsu."
When he left an odd silence filled my kitchen as I looked at Natsu who was looking at me.
"Do you want to tell me what's really going on?" He asked as he studied me. I smiled at him as I walked closer and wrapped my arms around his neck. He smiled and pulled me flush against him, pressed his forehead against mine and pulled one of my hands to press his palm against mine. "I was lonely when you were avoiding me, Luce. It felt like my heart was pulled out of my chest and repeatedly stomped on. Please don't pull away from me anymore, especially now." He whispered with a rare moment of vulnerability.
My chest squeezed in guilt as I realized that by making the choice to pull from him so he could be with Lisanna, I had broken his heart. "I thought you and Lisanna would want time together. I figured that if I could show you I would be ok with being on my own, you'd let yourself be with her. I won't hate you if that is what you want. I'm sorry I didn't talk to you first." I mumbled, hoping he wouldn't be mad. The hand that was pressed against mine, wrapped around my wrist and pulled me flush against his body. He buried his face in my neck, wrapped his arms around my waist and took a deep breath. "I enjoyed the time with Lis at first. It reinstalled my hope that I'd see Igneel again but…" He tightened his grip on me. "...but It felt like it cost me you and that price is too heavy." He took another breath and removed his face from my neck to press his forehead to mine again. "I was a mess that fourth month without you. I even went to Gildarts for help. He wasn't any by the way."
I giggled as he smiled in affection for the man who became his surrogate father. "His words made no sense to me, not until…" His eyes dropped down my face before locking eyes with me again.
"Until…" I prompted.
"Until I felt your arousal. I knew I wanted you but I wasn't sure if you wanted me. Not until that night. But then… you were set up on that date and I knew that if I didn't show you I wanted you, I'd lose you forever."
I felt like I couldn't breathe. He wanted me and only me and I had doubted him. I stepped out of his grasp but he pulled me back into his arms.
"You always put others before yourself. You thought I wanted to be with Lis and you were ready to let me. I know that about you and I'm not mad. Please don't be mad at yourself."
"Natsu, I broke your heart. You should be mad at me." I said softly as he rolled his eyes. He kissed me, gently, softly, once then twice.
"I was pissed as hell until you let me do this." He muttered before taking my breath away with a passionate kiss. His hand sensually trailed up my back before tangling in hair and tilting my head opposite of his. His hands in my hair and body against mine so fully and sensually caused a small moan of pleasure to escape my mouth. When my mouth opened, his tongue immediately met mine and the way he slid it across mine, made me remember just how wickedly talented he is with it.
My core throbbed with an aching need as I pushed him back slightly. "We have an hour before Cana gets here." I say breathlessly, while trailing down his chest and pausing to unbuckle his pants, Remembering how he didn't get release after eating me out this morning.
He smiled widely before letting his pants drop and turning to lift me on the counter. "The things you do to me, gorgeous." He whispered as I wrapped my arms around his neck, before ripping my panties and plunging into my wanting body.
"Natsu! Yes!" I shouted as he thrusted into me with reckless abandon. The moment our lips met, the pressure that had been building, exploded through my body as I tossed my head back and in the corner of my eyes, I could see the candles I always keep in the kitchen, ignited by the force of my power. When I felt his orgasm, towers of fire from each candle stood bright and tall before shrinking and disappearing. The kitchen was quiet except for our heavy breathing. He kissed me again before saying, "I should go before Cana gets here."

He smiled and closed the door. The loud "YES!" Startled me but I shook my head as I realized that it was just Natsu.
