Hey, btw guys I am looking for some legit art for a cover so if you know anyone willing PM me. Also, a Beta reader would be nice.
Alrighty, here we go. Enjoy!
*POV: Commander Shepard
Standing in the conference room I stood ram rod straight and waited for the call to come through. Hackett had gotten some of the reports from Anderson and wanted to talk to me about them. Nothing too serious but from the way Anderson told me about it Hackett had taken a keen interest in the fact that Aedon was here, the Torchbearer. That was what had me slightly concerned.
Aedon is slowly becoming an integral part of the group and team, if wasn't already. Who am I kidding, he definitely already was. Full of surprises and he kept pulling them up though I did have to agree with Garrus' assessment of him. His best attribute was his ability to adapt in every situation. Hell, he was even able to adapt when he gave me his little pep talk. He was a good man despite him thinking the contrary.
Looking to the console as it began to blink signalling Hackett was calling I stepped forward and answered. Stepping back and standing straight again as he appeared I delivered a crisp salute. One that he returned.
"Admiral," he swipes his hand low signalling to be at ease.
"Commander. How goes the mission?"
The next couple minutes were just me filling him in on everything that we've been doing. Only briefly talking about our minor crusade on going after Cerberus. He didn't seem to concerned about me going off mission for them but gave me what everyone else had already said. Make sure I still focus on Saren. Doable but hard to do when the man is practically a ghost and our information team couldn't find squat.
After he was caught up he asked about the crew. I stuck to alliance personnel first and focused on the fact that they were all working hard. Ashley and Kaiden especially. After I had expended all that could be talked about for them I talked about the non-Alliance personnel. Most of whom he didn't really seem to care about. He did appreciate that they had been doing a good job wherever they were working but he didn't seem to care that much. When Aedon came up he took over the conversation, from a report to more of an interrogation.
"What can you tell me about him?"
"Smart, dedicated, loyal, and effective. He knows what he's doing sir."
"What about his gear? Anything overly unique?"
"His helmet. He's got an integrated pulse system in it allowing him to pick up real time data on the field and tell us how many and where hostiles are," that was a bit of a curious question for me. Which got more curious when Hackett adopted a look of surprise and then relief.
"Something I should know sir?"
"Nothing to concern yourself with Commander," well that was a lie. "Has there been any problems with him?"
"One a couple days after I brought him on but nothing since then. Though, I fully expect him to demand to be paid after this is all said and done."
"To be expected. The same goes for the Krogan too I assume," nodding my head in answer he continued. "I'll make sure they get paid. Now, what does he look like?"
"I've only seen his real face once sir," he gave me a curious stare before motioning for me to continue. "He's very paranoid sir. Doesn't trust easy and constantly wears makeup if he doesn't have his helmet on."
"Can you get a picture of his face? It would be invaluable to have in the future," for blackmail went unsaid. Aedon was making waves in the underworld before this and in his time with me his reputation had only grown. It was an open secret for the Alliance that he was working with me, only the top brass knew. Though, this was something that could get them into the good graces of the Council. As much as he did good, mostly, he was still technically a criminal and a well-known one at that. One whose reputation was only growing too.
"No sir. He's too valuable to betray his trust and Dr. Chakwas has made it clear that all his medical information has been disposed of. She keeps the information in her head and refuses to share any of it."
"Commander," his tone was one of warning. Saying he agreed with my sentiment and understood but to be careful; it was incredible the amount of info you could relay when you really knew someone. "Several scientists have been found dead in the Kepler Verge recently. Seemingly in a string of attacks. Investigate that when you can."
"Yes sir."
"Hackett out," and then he disconnected.
I didn't like this, not at all. I trusted Hackett and he was a good man but Humanity was still on the outside. A lot of politicians and top level military people wanted a seat on the council. It wouldn't surprise me if he got the order from higher up but the fact that he even asked it concerns me. Should find Wynne and inform him of this, at least there were no cameras on the Normandy.
Leaving the conference room I ran into Wrex immediately. Seemed that he had been waiting on me. Looking at him we addressed ourselves as usual.
"Wrex."
"Shepard. Need a favor."
"Sure. What is it?"
"Found where my family's armor is. Some Turian collector has it."
"Where?"
"Tuntau, in the Phoenix System; Argos Rhao."
"I'll set a course. We got time," he nodded and headed off.
Being where I was I decided to go and tell Joker first before trying to find Wynne. Walking past the usual workers near the Nav System and a passing salute to Pressly one of them flagged me down. Walking to the ensign they handed me a report of chatter from Omega, the Pirate capital. It was inconclusive for the most part except that the big Merc companies had reinforced there and the smaller ones had left for the most part. It was a little concerning but nothing I needed to worry about.
Handing the report back to the ensign I thanked them and walked away towards the bridge. Getting to Joker he greeted me with his usual sarcastic comment before asking what I was up here for. Telling him about Wrex and the mission plus where to go he didn't complain and just punched in the coordinates. It would take us about a day to get there and after that we were going to go to the Kepler Verge to check out the scientist debacle.
Leaving him to fly the ship I made my way down to the cargo hold. Wynne usually stayed there and just mulled around. Doing maintenance and such plus training. No one bothered me on the way there except for Adams who saw me get out of the elevator. He simply gave me a list of gear that would be needing from the Citadel relatively soon. All having to do with the ships 'teething' as he put it. All things considered, for a brand new type of ship the Normandy had been running exceptionally well.
After Adams left I fully entered the Cargo hold to see Wynne fighting Garrus in the mini ring used for training; Ash was the ref. Walking up next to Wrex as he watched the fight he silently put a data pad in front of me. It read Garrus/Wynne; place your bet. Seeing as Garrus had more money placed on him I threw down a few Credits in for Wynne. That being said he was naturally outmatched.
Turians were simply the better genetic fighters, everything about them wanted to be up close and personal, second only to the Krogan. Still, Wynne was trained by one so he knew this and would have countermeasures. There were several good ones I knew of but as usual Wynne surprised us all.
As he fought Garrus he never kept it at a distance trying to strike and weave through Garrus' defense. Instead Wynne was up in his face the entire time and would not back out of it, even when Garrus would shove him back he'd go right back in. It was smart thinking about it, never allowed Garrus to use his longer reach and kept the fight close and compact. Not exactly the place to be against a Turian but Wynne made it work with his surprisingly aggressive defense. I know it sounds weird but that was the only thing that made sense while watching him.
He'd be up in Garrus' face blocking and deflecting damn near every attack thrown by Garrus only attacking when the opportunity arose and never forced anything. When he did attack they were jabs at Garrus' joints trying to whittle the man down. Crazy thing too, is that it was working. Garrus' movements were getting slower and you could see the stiffness in him. The fight ended not long after in fair hilarity.
Garrus went in with a vicious combo knocking Wynne around. Wynne just took it and I honestly thought the fight was going to end but that is exactly when Wynne countered. Garrus went for the finishing blow with his right hand only for it to be deflected by Wynne. His left came around only to also be deflected and that's when Wynne struck. As he deflected his left hand Wynne backhanded Garrus with his left across the face and followed it with his right slapping the daylights out of him as Garrus collapsed onto the mat face down.
"Turians. Weak to slapping," was all Wynne got out before falling back onto his butt, breathing heavily. Garrus groaned before flipping onto his back.
"My head feels like I just woke up from a Ryncol binge," he said, getting a chuckle from Wrex and a tired one from Wynne.
"That's what ya get for having an exoskeleton," was Wynne's response before he got up and extended a hand to Garrus, one he took.
Lifting him up they did the usual post training fight. Pointing out things the other could improve on and what they were doing right. It was good to see that in the group and it was also good to see some money come into my account from the bet. Looking over to Wynne as he got out of the mat and Liara and Tali entered I waved him down. Seeing me he nodded and I motioned to the Mako, he got the message.
"What's up sir?" He asked as he wiped sweat from his face with a towel.
"Had a talk with Admiral Hackett earlier," he stopped his wiping and looked at me seriously. He knew I wouldn't tell him that without reason.
"And?" there was nothing in his voice as he awaited the answer.
"He wants a picture of your face, your real face," he growled, actually growled at that. Then he got a contemplative look and smiled; it was not a friendly smile.
"So they have no idea what I look like?" he asked innocently with the smile still there and then his thinking linked with me and I returned his smile.
"No idea."
"Tomorrow, after we get Wrex's armor. For now, I want to watch a cat fight," I nodded at that and went with him to watch Tali and Liara spar.
Wrex greeted us both with the Datapad from earlier with the other bets already placed. They were about evenly distributed between the two with a small amount of money on each bet. Wynne took the datapad first and bet on Tali, predictable, so when he handed me the datapad I bet on Liara. Only fair; though when Wrex saw our bets after I handed it back to him he chuckled. Don't really know why.
Wynne only smiled and took his seat next to Wrex and I sat next to him. We watched the fight and frankly the way they each fought was surprising. Tali wasted no time going on the offensive, battering Liara, who definitely wasn't expecting the aggressive style from Tali. Still, Liara recovered quickly and went fully defensive. Though, that seemed to exactly what Tali wanted and then she started to really put the hurt on Liara. I was surprised she never threw a kick at Liara but then I remembered why.
Quarians could kick like mules, something to do with their legs' muscle structure. That wouldn't have been good if Tali kicked Liara, which would definitely result in at least one broken bone. Liara didn't have that limitation and after Tali slipped one past Liara's guard she pushed her back and then kicked her in the side. I don't know what it hit but it definitely winded Tali and then Liara was on the offensive. Liara was surprisingly good with her legs but Tali was just as good at slipping past them.
Overall, it made for an even fight since Tali couldn't kick. One that ended when Liara slipped a punch from Tali and got into her guard delivering an elbow to Tali's stomach. It knocked the wind out of her and then Liara swept her feet. Wynne whispered damn at that, realizing he lost some money. Either way, they did what Garrus and Wynne had done earlier and had some good sportsmanship afterwards; it was great to see that from everyone.
That seemed to be the last fight they had scheduled as once it was done they broke down the mat and put it away. Seeing that I got up and made my way to my room for the bane of my existence, paperwork.
I should've never become an officer but Anderson had been quite persuasive.
*POV: Aedon WTorchbearer)
Sighing as the warm water washed away the sweat and relaxed my muscles I reflected on the day. It was a good day, got to fight Garrus; somehow won. Ashley and Kaiden had fought before us with Ashley being the victor, handedly. I rather enjoyed that, Kaiden was getting on my nerves. Guy still didn't trust me, didn't really blame him for that but he seemed to actively go against me at points. Best guess he just didn't like me, understandable all things considered. Though it was getting to the point where I couldn't trust him to watch my back in the field and that was a problem.
There was no point in bringing it up at the moment but it was something to watch for now. At least Shepard seemed to pick up on it, he never put us in a group together even if its just to get equipment for a mission. That may be contributing to his lack of trust but at this point I had earned the trust of literally everyone else. Even Ashley trusted me, she had been a lot better since Feros around everyone in general. She was still xenophobic but she was slowly getting over it.
Stepping out of the shower I got dressed, did a decent bit of makeup. Made my hair a dark blond with streaks of grey around the ears, pronounced crows feet and wrinkles around the mouth. Gave myself a few small scars around the mouth and eyes. Also put some eye shadow and a bit of coloring around the eyes making them look sunken, and put on dull green contacts. Had to color my beard the same as my hair too with a few streaks of grey for added measure. Overall, I looked like an early 40s combat veteran
With that done I made my way to the mess hall with my helmet under my arm. Sorting through the MRE's available I refused to eat the salisbury steak one and kept looking for a different one until a Taco MRE showed up. Greedily grabbing it I made my way to the usual table and sat down opening it. Shepard was the first to join me with Liara right on his heels. After those two Garrus, Wrex and Tali showed up; with Ashley and Kaiden being the last ones.
Both of whom became frustrated at finding no other MRE than Salisbury steak. The rest of the Taco and pancake MRE's being taken by those who arrived first. As we began to eat Shepard gave the floor to Wrex who began his debriefing on getting his family's armor back.
The way he explained it everything seemed to line up with what had happened in the game. This time around it seemed that the collector was also a small-time pirate who was known for his group's efficiency. Explaining why everyone was going on this mission; they had high end gear and were all former military with combat experience. This wasn't going to be a walk in the park. When was it ever?
He did come up with a good plan though, apparently when I relayed his request to Frank a bit ago he had come through in spades. Their base was the normal one with a narrow passageway beyond the entrance which would bottleneck us and make us vulnerable once we entered. However, Frank had gotten him schematics of the base and on the top of the base the armor was thinner than usual due to the materials used. Apparently it needed to be used because of the radiation of the atmosphere and that material was the only one that could effectively counter it.
Knowing this he looked at Garrus and myself stating that we would be the ones to get up top and blow the roof to support them from there. Said he had several charges just for the occasion he had picked up last time we were at the Citadel. With that he showed us where to plant them to get the best vantage points.
Nodding at that it made sense but I didn't particularly like it to be honest. Having the high ground is awesome but that usually leaves only your head to get hit and against an experienced group they could do it. Still, he added that he would be giving us plenty of grenades to throw down at them. That placated me, I would've preferred my grenade launcher but that worked just fine.
Though the radiation would be a problem with the Predator armor I'll be okay for just about the same time as Garrus for direct exposure. That being around a half hour before the systems began to fail and another 30 minutes before they failed completely and I started taking on radiation. Not the most comforting but it is what it is. Still, once we blew the top everyone on the inside would be on the same timetable if a bit extended because they weren't directly exposed.
From there he discussed the battle plan with the rest of the group. Garrus and I mildly paid attention but our job was pretty clear cut, support and reign terror from up above. We paid enough attention to know what the plan was for everyone but that was it. Anything beyond that we didn't pay attention too.
When Wrex was done explaining the plan I asked when we were going to be attacking them and he smiled. Told us that they had just finished up a successful raid on some Illium drug transport a day or so ago so we would be hitting them bright and early in the morning. Basically, as soon as we arrived in the system and at their planet, which by estimate would be at 1am when we get in system and 2am by the time we go down. Six hours from now.
*Six hours later*
As we drove to the destination in the mako we got a bit lucky with how the base was positioned. It was in a crevice surrounded by natural terrain but no mountains. It allowed for them to hide effectively from attackers but that was moot since we knew where they were. The luck of that being that even though it helped them hide since we knew where they were it made it easy for us to sneak up on them.
Getting out of the Mako with Garrus with the pack of explosives on my back we made our way to the back of the building sliding down the hill to do it. Everyone else did the same but as Garrus threw a grappling hook up top they went around the sides to the front. As we made our way up top they engaged and killed the two guards who were outside. Tali had jammed their coms and Wrex took them to town. At least, that's how it sounded from where I was on the rope.
Reaching the top I took one of the charges out of the bag and gave it to Garrus. He took it and planted it on the area that would give him a good vantage point on the balcony and back corner of the base. Taking mine out I set it up at the place that would give me the best view of the bottleneck and main floor. Once we were all set I nodded at Garrus and he gave the radio a single long beep.
Not getting one back immediately we waited with the detonator in my hand. Another minute later nothing and at that Garrus signaled my with two fingers up and then closed them into a fist twice. Meaning that if we didn't get a response in two minutes then I was to blow it regardless. However, almost immediately after Garrus gave me the signs we got 3 quick beeps and then two long ones. Realizing they were waiting on my pulse I hit it showing everyone where the soldiers were; 22 in total. After the pulse went through we got the single as one long beep.
Clacking the detonator the roof exploded downwards and Shepard's group attacked in force. Standing at the edge I targeted the closest bunched up group, four who were playing poker, and shot an overload into the middle of them. The radius of the overload throwing their shields haywired. As soon as it was off I grabbed a grenade and threw it down at them. It exploded in the middle of them but only took out two; one of those still alive but definitely out of the fight with his arm missing.
The other two recovered quickly from the explosion and fired up at me only for one of them to seize up and fall to the ground. Not looking a gift horse in the mouth I shot a few pot shots at the one still standing forcing him into cover leaving his buddy. Then I finished off his body, best guess was that it was Kaiden or Tali with a Neural Hack.
Spotting another leaning out I fired a couple shots at him. One hitting but not breaking his shields before he got into cover. Seeing he was near a wall I threw a grenade at the wall, bouncing it right at the soldier. He didn't get a chance to escape as it blew up in his face and sent limbs flying. Not a pretty sight.
After that and the initial assault by myself, Garrus and Shepard's team I sent out another pulse into the building. There was a total of 14 alive but one was without an arm so about 13 were combat ready. The next couple minutes on my end just consisted of me laying down suppressing fire on the soldiers and liberal use of the grenades given to me. At one point I got a little over excited and if there was movement and it wasn't Shepard's team I threw a grenade at it. It got a bit hectic but it was well worth it, got me a couple more kills and Shepard's team pushed the soldiers with ease.
Hitting the pulse another time there were only 6 soldiers left and the one with the missing arm from earlier had expired. At that point the remaining soldiers had barricaded themselves in the adjacent rooms wanting to wait it out. The ones on the bottom floor got left alone for now as I watched the door and Shepard and co went to the main office.
There was a quick firefight there and then Shepard spoke into the radio signalling that we got what we came for. Asking about the guys holed up downstairs he said to just leave them. Nodding to no one in particular I looked over at Garrus and he gave the signal to pack up. Grabbing the bag I jogged over to the rope and went down. Garrus wasn't far behind and as he landed he jiggled the rope unhooking the hook up top.
Jogging to the Mako we each jumped in and I breathed a sigh of relief after looking at my shielding for the first time. There was only 5 minutes before all systems failed and from how the armor was sparking it would need another bout of maintenance after this. At least there would be plenty of time for that. Shepard hadn't told us anything about what we were going to do next.
Talking about Shepard he jumped into the driver's seat a few minutes after Garrus and I had gotten in. Everyone else followed quickly and we had to squeeze to make room for Wrex. His family's armor was more ornate (see: decorated/pretty) than it was practical; plus it was old. Really god damn old and had visible rust showing on the otherwise beautiful armor.
Not everyone got out unscathed like Garrus and me though. Wrex was sporting some gunshot wounds that were little more than pin pricks to the old krogan. Kaiden had his leg wrapped up in gauze and I assume medi-gel underneath. Ashley had the side of her head wrapped up and when I sent a questioning gaze to Kaiden he tapped his ear; she's missing a chunk of her ear, that sucks. Shepard and Tali were unscathed.
Finally, Liara had her right bicep covered in medi-gel and gauze and was staring daggers at me. Thinking about it that one was probably my fault, I remember throwing a grenade during my excitement at one of the guys in cover and hearing a squeal afterwards. I'll assume that a piece of shrapnel hit her after the explosion. Hey, I got the guy though. Still, I raised my hand to my chest and tapped it twice signalling 'my fault'. Then to my surprise she responded in ASL* saying she got careless.
Getting excited that someone else knew actual ASL I began signing back. She was just as surprised as I was and a smile crossed her face before we began a full blown conversation in ASL. We talked about damn near everything the whole way to open ground. Even continued until we broke atmo and got out of the Mako. She signed her goodbye to me.
Wrex immediately took his armor to his locker and the rest went about their business in their own separate areas. However, Shepard and I set up for our little photo shoot.
"Okay… So how do you wanna do this?" he asked as he set up the camera on his omni-tool.
"Just get me coming out of the Mako while I take my helmet off. That should do it… and take it at a weird angle if you can, like you're doing it subtly."
Getting into the back of the Mako I put my helmet on and did exactly as I said. Shepard, to his credit, was holding his omni-tool at an angle that he would hold it as if he was holding a gun or a datapad. He took a couple pictures as I got out and took off my helmet and made my way to the lockers. Actually putting my weapons away I put my helmet back on and walked over to him.
Showing me the pictures they looked good enough. Close enough to an amateur spy but overly so looked to be done well for the situation. Hell, actually looking at the photos I looked pretty good with the grey streaks. Should've gone for a different look, this one was already a favorite of mine and it was going to be burnt damn near immediately.
Looking at Shepard he held a silent question in his eyes and I nodded. By the next morning the Alliance top brass would think they know what The Torchbearer looks like. That definitely included the council and their top brass too, being a growing star has its consequences. Definitely should've gone with the silent route and jumped in somewhere in the second game. Too late now.
"What's next for us Shepard?"
"Some business lady on the Citadel, Dantius If I remember correctly, wants us to save her sister from some Pirates because they're extorting her to pay ransom. After that we'll be going to the Kepler Verge. Apparently a few scientists have been killed recently, Hackett thinks it might be connected."
Well Toombs is coming up for Shepard. That'll be one hell of a kick in the balls for him. I remember the other mission too; Nassana Dantius. Definition of a shady businessman who wanted her sister dead. Never really explored why beyond the sister being a Pirate and I don't think it was that in depth. Though, she was on the shortlist of people who ran from the Citadel after Ark. Guess she came back if Shepard saw her, oh well.
"So a business woman over an Admiral…" I let my words hang in the air for him to digest thinking he might look at his words differently but didn't.
"She runs a company that is frontrunning new omni-tools, amps, and gene mods. Having a favor from her will prove more useful in the future as a Spectre than looking for a supposed serial killer through an entire system," he stated matter of factly as he grabbed a data pad and looked it over.
"The political mastermind that is Shepard shows his face," he gave me a deadpan look before looking back at his data pad and furrowing his brow.
"Do you know what this is?" He then gives me the data pad pointing his finger at a word. The word being aileron*.
"No idea sir."
"Neither do I but apparently it needs maintenance and we don't have the tools to do so."
That was all he said before he left me to go to the quartermaster. Only for him to get a couple steps there before realizing that he wasn't there and probably asleep. Leaving Shepard I spotted Wrex sitting on the bench by the lockers looking at his family armor. Walking over to him and sitting down next to him we went into a comfortable silence for a few minutes while I went over my gear. Once that was done I turned to him, still staring at his family's armor.
"Must be worth a lot to you?" He just said it was important in the game but nothing else. Wonder if I could make him talk more about it now.
"Not really," was his gruff response as he stared at it, his eyes never looking away.
"Then why did you call in a favor from Frank and ask Shepard to get it?"
"Closure."
"Closure?" Taking a deep breath as he looked at his gear he turned to face me fully. Realizing that this might be the most personal he ever gets with me I took off my helmet and my contacts.
"Listen. When I was younger I did many things. Many stupid things a young hot blooded Krogan would do and made a lot of mistakes. The one thing I did right was that I never gave up on my race. The Krogan are brutal, majestic, strong but also stupid but I never gave up on them as a race.
Tried to save them for years, saying we needed to reform from the old ways. Be better for ourselves because the galaxy didn't give a pijack shit about us. For a time too it worked, we were beginning to turn it around. Then I made my last mistake.
A Krogan warlord by the name of Jarrod. He was bloodthirsty and wanted to continue the old ways to death. Wanted supremacy and everything that had been taken from us back but only through war and bloodshed. Not by building it back up ourselves. And he wanted to meet as a truce. On our most sacred ground he wanted to meet.
I went with my top people. All the leaders of our new movement and we met. Never even got the chance to talk to him. His people were waiting in the graves of our ancestors buried there and sprang up out of the ground to ambush us. My best friend died taking a round to the face from Jarrod as soon as the ambush happened. I saw red after that.
I killed everyone. Jarrod, his men, my men; everyone. No one lived and most died by my hand. My rage consumed me that night and at the end all I was left with was my hopes dashed and blood on my hands. I gave up on the Krogan after that night," his eyes left mine and stared back down at his armor.
"This," he gestured to his armor and then looked back at me. "Is Jarrod's last failure and a reminder. A reminder that at one point Krogan did have honor, did care about the future, that at one point we were better and weren't consumed by our rage. Rage does nothing but take and take until you are dead." He stared at me with an intensity I had never felt before.
"Why tell me this then?"
"Because I see the same rage here. In you, in Shepard, in the bird; trust me kid, you don't want that type of rage. If you want Rage, control it, harness it, make it yours. But never let it control you. Otherwise, you'll be left with only blood on your hands and no one to call your friend."
With that he stood up, put the armor in his locker and walked away. Sitting there I thought on his words and would continue to do so.
POV: Ceelo'Nos
Opening my eyes I stared at the room around me. I was in the a cage, an electrically powered cage while others, humans, around me watched and took notes. Seeing the logo on their shirts I recognized them as Cerberus. Subtly feeling myself I noticed that they had taken both my omni-tools and hidden weapons but that was okay. I have more ways to kill than those, it just takes finding the right moment to strike. Though with my fumbling searching myself they noticed I was awake.
"Ah, he is awake," a thick Russian accent spoke from one of the scientists outside the cage. When he spoke a Raven haired woman stepped forward, tall and beautiful. Miranda Lawson, good to know she's still her fathers lackey even if she doesn't know it herself. A disappointment, such a bright young girl.
"Mr. Ceelo. Your omni-tools and weapons have been taken. We just have several questions for your and then you'll be on your way," she said in her seductive voice and I had to resist the ability to hiss and or snort at her. Cerberus letting me go, not gonna happen.
"Ask your questions."
"Do you know the identity of the Torchbearer?" really, this shit. Why is it always Frank; first he gets me involved with the Carta, then Aria, a lot of screwed up missions, then the Spear Clan, and now from the kid. Why did it always go back to Frank; he owes me.
"I'm afraid I don't know who you're talking about."
"Come now, we both know you trained him," well they knew that so their network isn't completely incompetant.
"Who?"
"The Torchbearer."
"Who?"
"Responsible for Ark Medicinals and the killing of a Batarian delegate. Among other things."
"Who?" there was the slightest twitch in her eyebrow and I confess. I loved it. Though, not what happened next. She gave a small nod to the man next to her at what looked like a control panel and instantly my body seized up from electricity. It was bad but not terrible, I had insulated my suit years ago for this.
"The Torchbearer. Who is he?" she asked, no demanded, again.
"Who?" another jolt of electricity.
"What does he look like, where is he from, does he have any family. What are his motivations," she demanded, never stopping the electrocution. I went with the kid's favorite when caught red handed as an answer.
"No hablo ingles," that seemed to get her angrier and the electrocution got worse. Worth it to see her face though.
For now I would have to endure until she left. She was a powerhouse with biotics and with all her buddies here getting out wouldn't happen until she was out of the picture. Though, as the electrocution continued I thumbed the button on my leg. Not yet, not yet; but soon.
There ya have it folks. I hope y'all enjoyed it.
Don't forget to review, it helps me get better and I try to respond to all of them.
Big things coming up ;)
