Hiccup was now face-to-face with Lael, who was now blocking his path in the storage facility.
"I must admit, I underestimated you," Lael admitted. "I never could have imagined that you would have made it this far and by yourself, no less."
"Who says I'm by myself?" said Hiccup.
Lael frowned at that remark.
"I couldn't have made it here without my friends, and even if I could, I wouldn't want to. But you would never understand that because all you people think about are yourselves. Soon my entire crew will be here, and we will put an end to this."
At the Tower of Law, the rest of the Dragon Riders and Eret were still clashing with CP9.
Chopper was still in his monster form climbing up the Tower of Law; he was only acting on pure animal instinct.
Eret was down on the ground after Chopper attacked him for no reason.
"Damnit, what the hell was that?" he groaned. "Stupid deer gorilla going nuts. I'll deal with him once this mess is over; I still need to find the number two key."
He then looked up and saw Chopper climbing the Tower of Law.
"Hey, wait, you damn, monster!" he yelled. "Stop stealing my thunder!
Toothless and Snotlout were still fending off against Silvernose and Jabez, which was difficult since they were handcuffed together.
"Tempest Kick!" Silvernose yelled, swinging his leg.
Toothless quickly blocked it with his blade. Jabez then quickly moved in to attack them, but Snotlout quickly raised his fist and swung it towards him.
"Shave!" said Jabez vanishing before the fist made contact.
"That was a little too close," said Snotlout.
"Not sure how long we can keep this up for," said Toothless gravely, and then he quickly pulled Snotlout back. "Watch out!"
Jabez had reappeared and swooped in to attack Snotlout, but Toothless was a little too quick for him, so he missed.
"Nice dodge," said Jabez.
"We can't let our guard down," said Toothless.
"It's not easy keeping them up when we're like this," Snotlout pointed out.
"And whose fault is that?"
Kala had just immobilised Fishlegs, who found it impossible to move with his legs so slippery like this. He attempted to get back on his feet only to slip once more.
"No good, my legs are too slippery for me to stand," he said. "I hope you're proud because this power of yours sure is creepy!"
"Say whatever you like. To be honest, I was actually hoping to use it on that girl with the axe," said Kala. "After all, she only contained a fraction of the beauty that I possess. After I finish with you, I should give her a pair of silky smooth legs."
"I think Astrid's legs are perfectly fine, thank you," said Fishlegs. "And anyway, what good are silky legs you can't walk with them?"
"Well, sometimes you have to make sacrifices to be beautiful."
"Then why don't you try it on yourself?"
"Why? I'm not ugly ducking like her; I'm gorgeous already. Isn't it obvious?"
"You're really lucky that it's not here to hear that; she would pound your face into the ground."
"I would like to see her try."
"Just keep dragging all you want; it will just make my victory all that much sweeter."
The twins, meanwhile, were still out cold from their tangle with Lily.
Astrid was still clashing with Lily in the training room, and so far, everything appeared to be evenly matched. That said, the longer the battle continued, the more likely Lily would figure out Astrid's trick with the dials.
"These little tricks of yours, I must admit they did for me off at first," Lily admitted as her fist clashed with Astrid axe. "However, now that I know what I'm up against, I can easily create countermeasures."
"If you think tricks all I have on, you're sadly mistaken," said Astrid and then attempted to perform a roundhouse kick.
Lily saw her leg and immediately jumped back to avoid a kick, but Astrid used the momentum to spin around and swung her axe at her.
"Iron Body!" said Lily defending herself.
The daks made contact with her skin, and she was pushed back, but I actually was unharmed.
Astrid grimaced. 'I need to find a way to bring her down for good, or else I will never rescue Heather.'
Ragnar and Gunner were still shooting at one another in the shooting gallery, and their boards kept on countering each other.
"Gonna run out of bullets at this rate," said Ragnar as he reloaded.
"Same here, but if you want to go hand-to-hand, I'll be more than willing," said Gunner.
"Sorry, but I make a policy never to use my hands or knives in a fight; that's why I prefer using my legs and guns."
"I say, that certainly explains your fighting style," Gunner smiled. "You know it wasn't for the fact that we were enemies. I would like to think that we would make excellent comrades."
"Maybe in another life," Ragnar smiled.
Meanwhile, the giants were holding back the Marines at the courthouse, but they were starting to get tired.
"Emergency! Repeat we have an emergency at the front of the courthouse!" said a Marine over the transponder snail. "All available units, please report here now! Let's go, eliminate those traitors!"
"You call us traitors!" Gabor roared. "Don't make me laugh! You guys have betrayed us every single day for the past 50 years! Give us back our freedom, you liars!"
"You had a leash on us the so long that you forgot," said Kadir. "We're pirates! And pirates hate the Navy!"
They continued swinging their weapons at the Marines flying. They both looked at one another and laughed.
"Let's crush them, Gabor!" said Kadir.
"Sounds good to me, Kadir," said Gabor.
"Here we go!" they said in unison, swinging their weapons down upon the Marines.
"Concentrate your fire on one giant at a time, men!" said a Marine. "Take aim at Kadir's feet! Fire!"
Marines began firing cannonballs directly at Kadir's feet, and he began losing his balance.
"Good, charge and bring him down!"
Marines immediately began to charge at Kadir and began climbing on top of him like ants.
"We may lose its size, but our numbers give us the edge! Keep it up!"
"That's bad," said Gabor as the Marines began bringing Kadir down. "Kadir!"
Kadir then fell to the ground, and the Marines began to swarm him like a swarm of locusts.
"Move on to Gabor!" the Marine ordered. "Aim and fire!"
The Marines then fired upon Gabor.
Inside the courthouse, the Eret Family and Galley Law could hear the commotion outside, and it did not sound good.
"Sounds like bad news out there," said Palmer.
"Those giants have been holding back the Marine forces for a long time," said Teeny. "I'm sure they're wearing down."
Then they saw charging into wards them were Marines. This was bad. Only a handful of them left still able to fight, and they have to be hundreds of Marines swarming into the courthouse.
Spandam was now dragging Heather a spiral staircase that would lead them to the bridge spanning across the Gates of Justice.
"Hey, hideout, will you!" Spandam yelled at Heather fought back every inch of the way. "Damnit, I never thought a pirate would make it so far. This is turning into a real disaster."
He then pulled out the golden transponder snail and pressed down on the button, thinking it was a normal transponder snail. "Hey, CP9! This is your chief speaking! What the hell are you morons doing out there? I've got one of the Dragon Riders right on my heels!"
There was no answer coming from the transponder snail, much to Spandam's annoyance.
"Are you even listening to me?" he yelled. "You'll answer when I speak to you!"
Heather then noticed that he was holding the golden transponder snail, much to her horror. "Wait, you didn't press that button, did you?"
Spandam looked at her confused, and then when he saw the golden transponder snail, he screamed in horror.
"No, this is the golden transponder snail!"
At Marine Headquarters, the alarm signalling the Buster Call could be heard in Marines began scrambling.
"The silver transponder snail has received a signal!" said a Marine informing Vice Admiral Gegwar. "It's an emergency! A Buster Call has been requested under the authority of Admiral Asmund!"
"What location?" Gegwar asked.
"Enies Lobby!"
"Contact the five Vice Admirals closest to that location!"
"All things considered, it might be fastest to reach there from headquarters."
"How long then?"
"No more than 30 minutes, sir."
"In that case, prepare 10 battleships for departure and inform the Vice Admirals of the situation! Make it quick!"
"Yes, sir!" said the Marine, then contacted the five Vice Admirals. "A Buster Call has been requested! The destination is Enies Lobby! Prepare 10 battleships for sail immediately!"
Heather, meanwhile, was completely horrified at the scene before her.
"Hello, hello!" Spandam yelled as he used the proper transponder snail to contact CP9.
"What is it, Chief?" Kala's voice asked.
"Oh, now I get through," Spandam moaned. "This is the one that I was trying to use, not that it matters anymore. There's no turning back now; I pushed the button. Of all things, I triggered the Buster Call!"
Spandam didn't realise that his transponder snail was actually transmitting across the island. This meant that not only the members of CP9 could hear him but the other Marines and government agents on the island.
Upon hearing this, the Marines and agents looked at one another in a combination of confusion and fear.
"Did he say Buster Call?" said an agent. "No way."
"Is he supposed to be talking to us?" a Marine round.
"You have to cancel it right away!" Heather yelled. "Don't you realise what you've done?"
Hiccup blinked. "Yeah, that's Heather's voice."
"Everyone is going to die!" Heather continued.
"Heather?" Astrid stared.
"Cancel it?" said Spandam. "Are you kidding? Who do you think you're talking to? You can't boss me around!"
Both Galley Law and the Eret Family had been rounded up by the Marines. They were all now tied together by rope within the courthouse.
"Why are they broadcasting this?" Teeny frowned.
"Hey, you!" said a Marine pointed a rifle at him. "Don't move!"
"I can't; I'm tied up!" Teeny snapped.
"And so what," said Spandam continued. "I mean, what's wrong with the Buster Call anyway?"
"That's Chief Spandam's voice, I'm sure it," said a Marine guarding the giants.
"There is no reason for me to get worked up over this; making that call was well within my power," said Spandam trying to convince himself more than anyone else. "I am the chief of Cipher Pol number nine, after all. To ensure that your transfer goes over smoothly, I requested a Buster Call. There's not a thing wrong with that. Who cares if it is a little overkill? Better safe than sorry. It's a small price to pay to make sure those pirates get eliminated."
"You're a fool," said Heather angrily. "I told you before, that won't be the end of it! This is an attack without mercy! Without humanity!"
"I know that's the chief talking, but I don't recognise the woman's voice," a Marine frowned.
"The Buster call will burn everything on Enies Lobby to the ground!" Heather yelled. "The people! The buildings! Even the island itself!"
Upon hearing this, the Marines and agents began talking amongst themselves fearfully.
"It will sacrifice everything and anything in its path! The nightmare won't end until nothing remains! That is the power you're invoking! If you had any idea what happened at Draknar years ago, you would not be doing this!"
"The Government is well aware of the sacrifices involved," said Spandam dismissing her claims. "That is how important this mission is. Since Eric Earlson burned the blueprints to Odin, we can't afford to make a mistake. You're the last hope we have of reviving the ancient weapon; we're talking about a military power that can turn this whole era upside down. Even if we have to sacrifice a few thousand soldiers, it is better than letting you slip out of our hands again. I know the consequences; I just don't care. Don't think of it as murder; it is a sacrifice to protect the future, and speaking of protecting the future, my promotion is depending on this as well."
"Hey! Wait a second, can't we vote on this?" said an agent.
"What is he me by sacrifices? Are they going to kill us?" said a Marine.
"Think about this!" Heather yelled at the top of her voice. "Human lives are at stake!"
"Allow me to remind you, CP9 can always kill in the name of justice," Spandam reminded her. "Therefore, if we think 100 deaths are needed to save 1000 lives, then we will kill those 100 people immediately without question. For true justice, you must be merciless at times. Besides, if those idiot soldiers could even stop a few pirates from invading a Government base of this size, they are better off dead anyway."
He then began laughing, and Heather noticed that his transponder snail was still on.
"I think the line is still connected on your transponder, snail," she said.
Spandam eyes widened when he looked down at his transponder snail; he realised that she was right. "You've got to be freaking kidding me! Everyone heard all that?" He then began trying to think of a quicker way to get out of this mess. "By the way, this is… uh, Dragon Conqueror Hiccup speaking."
"Like we believe that!" the Marines and agents yelled.
"Everyone, get off the island, hurry!" Heather yelled into the transponder snail." A Buster Call has been invoked on Enies Lobby! If you don't get away from here immediately, you'll die!"
"Hey, don't tell them things they don't need to know!" Spandam yelled, hitting her causing her to fall down the steps.
The Marines and agents just looked at one another.
"Well, what should we do now?" a Marine asked.
"I can't say I'm happy, but there's nothing we can do," said Silvernose.
"I should have seen this coming with that idiot in charge," Jabez snarled.
"Sounds like they're in some sort of trouble," said Toothless.
"They're not the only ones," said Snotlout. "Where is Chopper with that key?"
"It would seem as if all your hopes have been completely shattered," said Lily looking at Astrid.
"I wouldn't worry too much when it comes down to the wire like this we always called together," said Astrid.
"I can't believe that idiot," said Gunner angrily.
"How did an idiot like that end up being your boss?" Ragnar asked.
"A mystery for the ages," said Gunner.
Fishlegs looked at Kala. "Aren't you at all concerned?"
"About what? The Buster Call?" said Kala casually. "I have no doubt we can survive this. You pirates, on the other hand, are a different matter."
Coco was outside and laughed after hearing the announcement.
"Poor pirate boy," she laughed. "You must have been born under a bad sign to have looked like this. But on the other hand, you probably like it this way, don't you?"
The Marines and agents were now running towards the far side of the island, leaving the prisoners tied up.
"We're going to get hit with a Buster Call!"
"Battleships are coming!"
"Get away from Enies Lobby!"
"I get that battleships are coming, but why are the Marines are running away?" Teeny frowned.
"She said that the island was going to be burnt to the ground," said Palmer.
"Why would they burn down their own island?"
"I don't know?! Don't ask me!"
"Hey, if you're going to run, at least untire us!"
The Marines ignored them and kept on running.
"It's a Buster Call!"
"If you stay here, you'll die!"
"Bring as many ships as you can and get ready to set sail! The battleships could be here any second!"
Galley Law and the Eret Family were now completely alone within the courthouse.
"Guess they left us behind."
"Hey, this is dangerous!" Teeny yelled. "Get out of here, dammit!"
"Are you kidding?" said Palmer looking at him. "It's been dangerous ever since we set this place."
"What about our Big Bro? What's going to happen to Eret?"
"There's no way we're leaving without him! We'll wait as long as it takes. The Dragon Riders are coming too."
"Wait, are you saying that we should just sit here and get blown up?"
"Come on, guys, there's got to be something we can do."
"We can't afford to screw around anymore," said Jabez.
"Then let's finish them off quickly and get to the Gates of Justice while we still can," said Silvernose.
"Get ready; it looks like the starting to get serious," said Toothless.
Snotlout gulped. "You mean they weren't serious before? Can this day get any worse?"
Spandam, meanwhile, was absolutely furious and was now making his way down towards Heather.
"Why couldn't you keep your damn mouth shut," Spandam growled. "Now the whole island is in a panic. What of those pirates getaway, huh? You realise they're going to blame me for that, right?"
Back in the storage room, Lael turned off his transponder snail after the transmission had been cut.
"If that was Heather talking, where is she?" Hiccup demanded.
"Right behind these doors, of course," said Lael.
Hiccup then immediately charged at him and performed a roundhouse kick. However, Lael easily blocked it with his forearm.
"As you have seemed to have surmised, you'll have to go through me first," said Lael.
Hiccup landed on the ground and immediately punched Lael in the chest as hard as he could. However, he had used his defensive technique to harden his body, though he still felt the punch a little. Hiccup didn't let up and immediately formed a roundhouse kick only to be blocked by Lael's own roundhouse kick.
Lael then punched Hiccup in the face and quickly followed that up with a spinning roundhouse kick. Hiccup ducked just in time, and the two of them swung their fists at one another, causing them to collide. The sheer power from their attack caused both of them to be sent flying into the crates.
Hiccup picked himself up, and he was already panting while Lael didn't look tired in the slightest. It was clear that this was not going to be an easy fight.
"Out of my way, I'm not going to let you keep me from Heather any longer," said Hiccup.
"Say what you like; this is the end," said Lael. "You'll never see her again."
"I made a promise, and I'm not going to break it," Hiccup vowed. "I'm coming for you Heather, just hang in there."
