Everyone was still rather shocked by the revelation that Vice-Admiral Wrinkly was, in fact, Hiccup's grandfather. If the Dragon Riders were surprised, the Marines were even more shocked.
"It's been a while," said Wrinkly folding his arms. "I think you owe me an apology, boy. You've been up to no good."
"Wrinkly never told us he had a grandson."
"And heard a word about his family at all."
"Wrinkly?" Astrid gasped. "But isn't that the name of the Navy hero that fought against Roger D Gold and your father?"
"Hiccup, is this Vice-Admiral really grandfather?" Fishlegs asked.
"Sure is," said Hiccup looking terrified. "Matter what, do not try and fight him. He'll kill you just as he nearly killed me over and over again when I was younger."
The Dragon Riders then looked at Wrinkly terrified.
"Now, now, you going to give them the wrong idea," said Wrinkly calmly. "Although I admit I did throw you into a ravine at one time… and I left in the jungle a few times too… and sure, there were those times that I sit you ceiling on those balloons. But I didn't do it to kill you; I did it to make you a man."
"So this is where all of Hiccup's endurance comes from; this is why everything rolls off him," said Astrid.
"When I found out that your father left you on that island, I had my friend train you thinking that everything would work out all right," said Wrinkly narrowing his eyes and sighed. "But I turn my back, and you follow your father's footsteps. I wanted to make you into a Navy man and to do some real good in the world, but instead, he became a criminal."
Hiccup narrowed his eyes. "Oh, really? You have a funny way of showing it, allowing a bandit to train me."
"I thought being abandoned by your father would be a wake-up call," Wrinkly growled. "You how much effort it was to track you down, but then he gave you that Devil Fruit, and you became like this."
"He didn't abandon me!" Hiccup snapped.
Wrinkly, and grabbed the hem of his shirt and lifted him off his feet.
"Is that any way to speak to your grandpa?" said Wrinkly clenching his fist.
"We're all done for!" Chopper panicked. "Our captain has been captured by the Marines!"
"Hiccup!" Fishlegs yelled.
"This is bad," said Ragnar. "If we try to help Hiccup, then all those Marines outside will come rushing in and attack us."
"But we can't just stand here and do nothing," said Astrid.
"What are we supposed to do?" Eret asked. "I've never been in a situation like this before."
"Now take your lecture like a man," said Wrinkly, punching Hiccup across the face. "Don't sell your grandpa some respect. I'll have to beat it out of you."
When they realised that Wrinkly was being a particular grandfather, they decided to stay out of it.
Snotlout has seen the commotion and had seen everything from the window with Magni.
'Are you kidding me?' said Snotlout stunned. 'That is grandfather? Well, it's no wonder that Hiccup never spoke of his family outside of his father. This is crazy.'
Wrinkly released Hiccup and turned to Ragnar. "I recognise you, your Alvin son aren't you?"
"What if I am?" Ragnar asked.
"Just want to know you have any knowledge of what kind of dangerous businesses he's involved in," said Wrinkly folding his arms and looking at him suspiciously.
"I haven't seen my father since I was three years old, but why are you so interested in him?" Ragnar asked.
"It's true there are as many pirates as there are stars in the sky. But your father is one of the brightest; he's in the same class as Stoick even. There are four pirates as powerful as that, and they rule over the second half of the Grand Line like kings. They are the Four Emperors.
The Seven Warlords and us folks in the Navy have allied against them. The idea is to create a balance of power; if any one of these three forces become stronger than the others, then the piece we have worked so hard to protect would come crumbling down."
Heather approached Astrid looking rather surprised. "I had no idea Alvin the Treacherous was Ragnar's father."
"Ragnar did say that his father was a pirate, but he never mentioned how big of a deal he was," she said.
"To be honest, this is the first time I've heard of it," said Ragnar.
"He must have just recently become an Emperor; otherwise, I would have told you," said Hiccup.
At that point, Toothless arrived in the first thing he saw when Marines swarmed the Galley Law building and feared the worst.
"Damn, I was too late," he said, immediately drawing his swords.
Inside everyone could hear fighting.
"What's doing on out there?" Wrinkly asked.
"It's the Pirate Hunter," said one of his aides. "To be going on some sort of rampage."
"Ah, he's from Hiccup's crew, huh?" said Wrinkly and looked at two of his men. "He looks pretty tough. Go ahead, you two, give him hell."
"Sir!" they said and went to engage Toothless.
The Chief Petty Officer drew out a large pair of curved knives and began spinning around as he approached Toothless. Toothless spun around in time to block his strikes and looked at him rather intrigued.
"Kukri knives, huh?" he said. "Interesting choice of weapon you've got there."
The Marine immediately spun around while swinging his knives down in midair, and Toothless began to block his attacks.
Hiccup immediately rushed in to stop Toothless. "Toothless, it's okay! We don't need to—"
He then suddenly kicked beneath the chin by the Master Chief, who appeared in front of him from out of nowhere.
"What was that for?" said Hiccup transforming to his hybrid form his fist.
"Shave!"
The Marine immediately vanished right in front of him, and Hiccup recognised the technique instantly. "That technique?"
The Marine reappeared behind him and towards him with incredible speed, but Hiccup heard him coming and grabbed his jacket, pinning him to the ground. Toothless also managed to disarm his opponent, placing his blades beneath his chin.
"Are you okay?"
"What happened?"
Wrinkly laughed. "Boys, your no match at all."
"You're as tough as I thought you'd be," said the master chief smiling at Hiccup. "That was a nice one. Anyway, I give."
Hiccup frowned as he released the Marine as he looked familiar. "Have we met?"
The Marines smiled. "It has been a while since I last saw you and Toothless. It's me; it's Gustav."
"Gustav?" Hiccup stared.
"No way," said Toothless.
"You look different," said Hiccup.
He wasn't wrong; the Gustav he remembered was rather short and scrawny. However, this Gustav was a good head taller and quite muscular.
"You seem to have a growth spurt," said Hiccup looking at him from head to toe.
"No kidding," said Toothless. "Why is he on the Grand Line?"
"To be honest, I'm not a commissioned Navy officer yet," Gustav admitted. "But when I heard that you guys were in the area, I just had to stop by and say hello while I had the chance."
"You could have at least left the Marines at home," said Hiccup.
Gustav laughed, then saluted. "If it weren't for you two, we wouldn't be where we are today."
"Well, I would go quite that far," the Chief Petty Officer huffed.
"A lot of stuff happened, but long story short, we ended up being trained by Vice-Admiral Wrinkly himself."
"I can imagine what he went through," said Hiccup shuddering out some old memories. "Have to say, though, I barely recognised you."
"I'm sure you are worn out after everything that has happened; I'm sorry to bother you," said Gustav as they made their way back to their lodging.
"It's fine; we've got a lot to catch up on," said Hiccup.
"Hey, you bastards!" said Chief Petty Officer looking slightly outraged. "Hold on, a second! You didn't recognise me at all, huh?"
"And who the hell are you?" Toothless asked, looking back at him.
"It's me, see me," he said, pointing at himself.
"Just tell us who you are," said Hiccup.
"Get a clue, guys," he said, lifting up his shades. "It's Sven… Captain Morgan's son, Sven. Surely you remember now?" He then turned to Toothless. "I had you tired up; you were all most executed because of me Toothless. You couldn't possibly forget that could you."
Toothless glared at him, clearly remembering perfectly.
"Well then, now we know who I am, right?" he smiled.
Unfortunately, they did; Sven had been the son of Captain Axe-Hand Morgan, who was a bit of a tyrant. Sven had fun using his father's name to get whatever he wanted, including tying Toothless to a stake in leaving him on the verge of starvation.
"Oh, it's you," they said.
"What do you mean, 'you'?" Sven yelled indignantly.
"We've made many enemies of our travels; you weren't exactly the most memorable," said Hiccup.
"In the living sure we should be calling him an enemy, I mean he did nothing," said Toothless.
"I wanted to forgive them," said Sven as he cried. "I just can't. I'm sorry, Gustav."
"You'll just have to accept the past and move on, Sven," said Gustav turned towards Hiccup. "Hey, Hiccup… So that you and I are enemies now, but are we still… uh…"
Hiccup smiled. "Of course, we're still friends."
After everything finally settled down, Wrinkly approached his men.
"Now, I've got a job for you boys," he said.
"Sir!" they said, saluting.
"This wall," he said, gesturing to the large hole in the wall he had created. "Fix it."
Understandably the Marines weren't best pleased with this order.
"You're kidding?"
"You were going to have us fix it; why did you break it in the first place?"
"Is walking through a door does not make much of an impression," he said, folding his arms.
"The only impression you're making here is a bad one. Okay, we'll fix the wall, but you've got to help us."
"What?" said Wrinkly but then quickly relented. "All right."
The Dragon Riders then watched as Wrinkly and the Marines fixed the wall. They were still rather shocked with the realisation that the great Navy hero was, in fact, Hiccup's grandfather.
"Still rather shocked that your grandfather is a great Navy war hero," said Ragnar.
"Nearly had something to do with the Navy, but he never told me that he was a Vice-Admiral," said Hiccup.
"Either way, Hiccup, I heard that you met your mother a while back," said Wrinkly as he hammered away.
"Huh, my mum?" Hiccup blinked. "I don't think so. I wasn't even sure that I had a mum."
"That's a shame; I thought she might introduce herself to you. What I hear she saw you are at Logue Town."
Everyone just stared at Wrinkly.
"Logue Town?" said Toothless.
Logue Town had been their last stop before entering the Grand Line. It would have been an understatement to say that it was memorable; buggy and his pirates tried to execute Hiccup, and they were chased down by Marines. Additionally had been a fierce storm that practically blew them off the island.
"I remember what happened, sure don't remember Hiccup's mother," said Ragnar.
"Could you give me a hint?" Hiccup asked. "What's my mum like?"
"I'm pretty curious myself," said Astrid.
"The name of your mother is Valka D Haddock the Revolutionary," said Wrinkly casually.
Everyone's jaw immediately hit the floor, though the twins looked completely oblivious.
"That Valka? The Revolutionary has a son?"
"And Hiccup had no idea?"
"Wait, Valka is Vice-Admiral Wrinkly's daughter, and son-in-law is Stoick the Vast?" Sven stared openmouthed. "Kind of messed up family have they got?"
"To think that I've never heard of Valka's full name before."
"I do remember her female voice stopping Smoker before he could take me out," said Hiccup, stunned. "I just never saw her face, but Smoker sounds as if he recognised her, and now I know how."
Twins looked at one another and then looked at the others.
"So, what's the big deal?" Ruffnut asked.
"Is Hiccup's mum famous or something?" Tuffnut asked.
"Are you serious?" Fishlegs stared at them dumbfounded. "You mean the two of you have never heard of Valka before?"
"She's a dangerous woman," said Astrid and looked at Hiccup. "And she's your mother?"
"At least we know where I get my dramatic flair from," said Hiccup awkwardly.
"I still don't get it," said Tuffnut.
"I'll try to explain it the best I can," said Heather. "Pirates like us are enemies with the Navy, but we don't usually attack them on our own. But there is one group that is directly in the authority of the World Government; the Revolutionary Army woman at the head of that group is Valka.
"By now, her ideology has spread to many nations causing right out rebellion. The Government's hold has already collapsed in a number of regions. Naturally, the Government is furious; they have labelled Valka the worlds worst criminal and will stop at absolutely nothing to hunt her down. The problem is no one knows a single thing about her."
"Until now, you mean," said Astrid.
Heather nodded. "She's very mysterious and yet—"
"And yet what?" Ruffnut asked.
"Don't leave us in suspense," said Tuffnut.
Heather didn't say a word, and instead, all eyes fell upon Wrinkly, who were still hammering away casually.
"Uh, that was a mistake, huh?" he said, suddenly realising everyone was staring at him. "Probably shouldn't have said all that stuff." Everyone just stared at him dumbfounded as he laughed. "I take it all back, forget it, okay."
Unfortunately, there was no way anyone could forget this conversation.
