"Aerghhh…"
Nathan sprawled on his bed, moaning in boredom, the result from his current activity.
'Why? Why do I have to do this?'
Currently, Nathan was writing letters. Letters of invitations to the Pillar families' heir/heiress. (At least the non-extinct ones.)
Flashback
"You have to do it personally, Sekirai. It's a sign of courtesy and respect to the Pillar families being invited.", Sekezer told Nathan as they talked in Sekezer's office.
"... Okay."
Flashback ends
The content of the letters were nothing special. Most, if not all of them were the same, except for the names being inputted.
Dear [Insert Name]
I would be greatly honored to host you at my coming of age party.
I look forward to your presence.
Sincerely,
Sekirai Agares
He was currently on his… 30th letter? Well, at least he's almost done. He only needed to write to 32 families anyways. The rest were extinct.
As he was writing his letter, he stopped to think of the recipient.
Dear Magdaran Bael
'Bael… Sairaorg's family. As well as the highest-ranked in all the 72 Pillars.', Nathan thought to himself. If he could build a connection with Magdaran, and by extension Sairaorg, that'd be great. The benefits of having the backing of the Great King family cannot be overstated.
So, as a good host would, Nathan decided to change it up a little bit.
It would be an honor to have the heir to the Great King Family attend my coming of age party.
I hope that you will grace us with your presence.
Sincerely,
Sekirai Agares
Yes, the 'changing up' that Nathan did, was re-wording the letter to sound fancier.
'Alright. Onto the next one.'
The next heir that he was writing to was… Rias Gremory.
Dear Rias Gremory
It would be an honor to have you, the Crimson-Haired Ruin Princess, attend my coming of age party.
I hope that you will grace us with your presence.
Sincerely,
Sekirai Agares.
'That's the 31th one. Onto the next one.'
The next family that Nathan wrote to was one that he could not remember.
'They must've had very little impact in the DxD series.', Nathan hummed thoughtfully as he mechanically copy and pasted the letter word to word, of course, changing the name.
'And, that's all.', Nathan stood up to stretch, and he gathered all 32 letters, before carrying them to Sekezer's office.
Nathan knocked on the door before receiving a "Come in" from Sekezer, and he gladly entered, dumping the letters onto the desk shortly after his entrance.
"That's all of them. Anything else I need to do?"
Sekezer rested his hand on his chin thoughtfully before replying, "No. I don't think so. You can go now, I'll call you if I have something."
"Alright, bye."
Sekirai left the office, before pondering on his next actions.
'I finished my training earlier… both magic and physical. I guess I'll go around the Underworld.'
With his training for the day being finished, Nathan had nothing to do in the Agares mansion, so he decided to do what any bored person would- exploring.
Nathan's first destination was… Lilith, the capital city of the Underworld.
Nathan went to his room and changed into outside clothes, before notifying a maid that he would be heading out.
"Notify my parents that I'll be going to Lilith."
"Of course, young master."
It's time for him to go outside of the Agares mansion.
'Lilith is similar to Earth', Nathan thought as he observed the inhabitants of the city.
There were vendors on both side of the road, advertising their products, while on the wealthier side of Lilith, there were a lot of stores- most of them selling fashion/beauty products. They were clearly aimed at the noble ladies who lavishly spent their money.
'If the inhabitants weren't Devils, I would've thought that this was Earth… and the purple sky as well. Can't forget that.'
Nathan continued strolling through the city, not particularly looking for anything, but still keeping an eye out for anything that could grab his interest.
Nathan walked for quite the distance, before stopping to look at something.
[Serafall Memorial Hospital]
Nathan looked at it and took in the appearance of the hospital, one that was renowned for having the best medical facilities throughout the entire Underworld.
The hospital's outer appearance had a blue/white coloring, the blue being predictable due to who it was named after. Nathan thought of going inside, before deciding against it, as there was no point in doing so.
After lingering on it for a few more seconds, Nathan moved on, although he made note of its location.
Nathan then continued exploring Lilith, and just when he decided it was about time to return to the Agares mansion, he noticed a statue, prompting him to walk over and admire it from up close.
Instantly, Nathan noticed that the statue was depicting Sirzechs Lucifer. The statue showed Sirzechs ablaze with the Bael/Gremory clan's special trait; the Power of Destruction.
Nodding in admiration of the sculptor's work, Nathan admired it for a few more moments before taking his leave, heading for the Agares mansion.
'Today was a good day. Very good day. I finished writing 31 letters, and even got to breathe in some 'fresh' air.' Mentally patting himself on the back for finishing what he considered to be a daunting task, Nathan changed into his pajamas before heading off to bed.
As he entered the land of dreams, his last thoughts were, 'The party is tomorrow…'
