Here we go. Enjoy
POV: Aedon Wynne
Exactly two days later Liara sent me the info on the three targets. We went over the information as a group in my apartment and nothing about it was special. Hock liked to stay in his mansion and look out his balcony for the sunset. The Batarian and Salarian both had bases on Planet's near Hock's planet that they frequented. It was really just about getting gear ready and deciding who to take out first.
Preparing accordingly we got Jungle camo for Hock and the Batarian. As for the Salarian we got desert camo, tarps and gun webbing. All would be needed for the ambushes we would perform. After we got all that we decided on who we would go after first.
We collectively decided on Hock. Guy was a prime target when he went on his balcony but the only problem was that it was a hard shot to make for a sniper. At least that's what Garrus said and his reasoning was that the current Mass Effect Snipers only really had a range of about a singular Kilometer. At the upward angle required to shook at Hock it was a near impossible shot within that range.
That was a bit of a problem that we all found hard to decipher. That is, until I looked at my pistol. When the thought clicked I knew that we would be getting a trip to Earth and maybe even Texas. Well, Texas or Wyoming; whichever one had more crazies in it. It took about 15 minutes of looking through the Extranet to decide Wyoming was the better place to visit for what we needed.
So that's what we decided on doing. Though, firstly we formulated and finished our plans for the Batarian and Salarian. We knew their bases locations and decided to just storm them after we had taken care of Hock. Their bases were more geared towards hideouts instead of an actual base. I didn't care either way, they would die.
I said my goodbye to Girl and promised to be back soon. She wasn't the happiest to see me go but understood I had work to do; she practically had to be pried off me with a crowbar when I said the real goodbye. As for Vrul he took to his pseudo promotion with shock and then gusto. He wanted to prove that he deserved it and I was all for it as long as he didn't get too zealous.
As for Ilok I could tell he was resigned at the prospect of being Vrul's babysitter but he also understood the context. This was my test for him; to truly get back my trust in him. As long as he did his job and helped Vrul do it well we would be good and he'd have my trust back.
Nyreen did not like that Garrus was going with us. Not at all but after we filled in everything that was going on and the Reaper problem she understood. Didn't like it but understood. It also spurned in her to make sure that Omega was the best prepared it could be if anything happened to it from the Reapers. She even talked to us about possibly going to Aria and telling her what was going on.
Garrus and I were a bit on the fence about it but we both agreed that it would probably end up being the best choice that we could make. An informed Aria might be more willing to contribute to the war effort in the future. Still, we left that to Nyreen on how to inform Aria. She wasn't a fan of Garrus and loathed me; she still had a soft spot for Nyreen even if she tried to hide it. It was small but it was there, Nyreen would exploit that.
That leads me to know as we were all getting our gear into my ship. It wasn't all that big and had only one extra bed for everyone. However, the cargo hold was big enough that Kelli and Samuel were able to lay down in sleeping bags and were comfortable. As such they were setting up the cargo hold with the gear and reserving their area's to sleep.
Garrus was with me in the cockpit as I went over how to fly the ship with him. It wasn't that hard and he caught on quickly. Once I was done showing him how to do so I went to the kitchen and began to pour myself some OJ when I felt my pistol get lifted off the small of my back.
Whirling around I scanned the room and saw no one there. Smiling to myself I hit my pulse and sure enough a few feet to my left there was a red signature. Whipping my head to look at the spot I held out my hand expectantly. Nothing happened for a few moments but then Kasumi decloaked in front of me admiring my pistol.
"Sorry, couldn't resist. It's a very pretty pistol," she said with that trademark cheek she had.
"I know, and I would like it back please."
"Oho, rumors had you out to be more bloodthirsty," she joked as she handed the pistol back.
"I don't want to clean up your blood from my ship," her body stiffened for a second before letting out a small chuckle and relaxing.
"Heard you were going after Hock. He has something of mine and I want it back."
"How'd you hear about that?"
"Liara. I paid her a pretty penny to keep me in the loop if anyone asked questions about him," if I didn't know Kasumi from the game I would've kicked her off my ship and probably killed her but since I did I stayed my hand.
"We're going to kill him. You can take what you want afterwards."
"Fine with me. How long until we get there?"
"Few days, we are going to Earth first."
"Why?"
"To pick up equipment," just then Garrus came out the cockpit and Kelli and Samuel came out of the cargo hold. Their guns were immediately in their hands and pointed at Kasumi. In response to their hostility Kasumi raised her hands in surrender. I held up a hand to each of them gesturing to lower their weapons.
"Kasumi Goto. Thief, at your service Red Eyes," she gave me an exaggerated bow in front of the others. I just sighed.
"She'll be joining us. She has a vendetta against Hock, as for the others afterward that's on her if she wants to join or not," I said to the others. They gave slow nods before they went about their business making themselves food.
She disappeared quickly after that and made herself scarce. I didn't mind and just made sure to check on her every few minutes with my pulse. As for the others, once they made their food and ate it Garrus and I went to the cockpit and got ready to leave.
We were off and running within a few minutes and headed to the relay. Took us only about 15 to get to the Relay at a casual pace and once we got there it shot us across the galaxy to the Sol System. Once we arrived in the Sol System we were made to go through customs. However, with one little hacking we were waved through without an inspection. With that done we made our way to Earth.
It only took us about 20 hours to get there, a lot faster than last time with Volio. I had the ship to thank for that and at the end of those 20 hours we were flying over Wyoming looking for a gun shop. Not the normal kind or one that could be found in a city, no we were looking for the mom and pop one's out in the country that would house illegal shit. Took us about four hours to find one that fit the bill I was looking for.
When we did I marked it down on the map and found the airport to touch down. Doing so we bribed the air traffic controller and the hanger bay manager to look the other way and not mark us down as arrived. They took the money without preamble and did as asked. The manager even pointed us towards a car rental place.
Before we left the ship we all changed into casual clothes so we didn't raise suspicion and made our way to the Car rental place. 20 minutes later we were on the road in a rather large truck headed to the gun shop. It took us a little over an hour to get to the place that we had found and as soon as we entered I couldn't help but smile.
Behind the counter was an old man, like ancient, smoking a cigarette with an open beer can next to him as he cleaned a Beretta 9mm. He gave us an inquisitive look before putting down the part he was cleaning and greeted us.
"Welcome to Greymary weapons. What can I do for you?" The others just went about inspecting the weapons on the wall and I went straight up to the man. Putting my hands on the counter across from him I smiled.
"You got anything that could kill a T-Rex?"
"Those were outlawed a century ago. No one carries anything that big anymore. The damn alliance made it illegal; fucking hippies," I let out an honest chuckle at that. Good man, he definitely had the good shit.
"Fuck the Alliance," I said before pulling out my pistol. The man tensed for a second reaching under the table where he no doubt had a weapon but didn't do anything. When he saw my pistol though his eyes widened for a second and widened even further when I handed him it. A man like this would appreciate the classics and it should get me access to the good shit.
"1911, good make, good model… Over 200 years old?!" he exclaimed looking at me in mild shock.
"Family heirloom. Killed my first Batarian with it, doesn't get much action anymore but it's still reliable," he gave me a nod of approval at that before handing the pistol back to me.
"So, what can I do for you son?"
"Still need something that can take down a T-Rex. Preferably at range."
"Hmm, give me a few minutes. I got such a thing but it's in the way back," I gave him a nod.
"Take your time, I'll wait," as he went to the back to get what I wanted I looked around the shop. He had some really cool and old weapons in here but the one that caught my eye above all the rest was the double barrelled shotgun. I took one look at it and was instantly in love, I could saw the thing off. I wanted it.
A few minutes later the old man came back out with a massive case in his hands. Throwing it up onto the table with a loud bang it got everyone's attention. Walking forwards I got Garrus' attention and we approached the case together. With us in front of him the old man opened the case and inside was a modified Barrett .50 Cal Sniper rifle.
"Barrett XL .50 Cal Sniper Rifle. Capable of killing a man at 3 miles, if you can hit the target that is. Thing can kill a fully shielded man at 600 yards."
"Why isn't everyone using this?" I asked in mild shock as I reached out and touched it. This was a beast of a weapon.
"Because you're looking at 10 million credits worth of equipment and that's not even counting bullets."
I whistled before picking up the weapon. It was heavy but I could tell this thing was a beast and I loved it. It would be my new baby but I handed it to Garrus to see how he liked it. He held it for a few moments before setting it back down on the counter with a smile on his face and a nod to me.
"How much for it and all the ammo you have?" he took out a calculator and punched in a few numbers before looking back up at me.
"11.7 million," I gave him a nod before looking at everyone else.
"Anyone else want anything?" No one did, I was kind of disappointed there to be honest.
"I'll take it and the double barrel on the wall along with 400 12 guage shells for it."
"Hmm, you gonna saw it off?" I nodded my head. "I'll give you all I have in 10 gauge for it then. All together it'll be about 11.95. Acceptable?"
"I'll also need a spotter scope and the highest powered scope you got," a couple more seconds of number punching before he gave me the new price.
"12.1 million. Deal?" He extended his hand and I shook it.
I input the black card code Tela had given me and paid for everything. When the transaction went though the old man gave me a smile and then went to the back and got all the ammo. It took him a couple of trips but he managed it without complaint. Either way, we walked out with probably the most powerful Sniper Rifle in existence and I walked out with a new toy.
Before we could leave though I went back in and bought a bandolier sling for my shotgun shells and a few ear muffs. They would be needed for shooting the Barrett. That thing had to be as loud as a motherfucker with how big it was.
POV: Kasumi Goto
The rumors about Red Eyes were on the one hand incredibly accurate but on the other hand they weren't at all. The accurate ones described him as a cold ruthless killer that could kill you with anything he had his hands on. That he absolutely could do and had this terrifying presence about him. Everywhere he stepped, everywhere he went he left death in wake but it wasn't just that. He was cold, calculating, ruthless and the most conercing part was that he was smart.
He didn't rise to anything emotional and even the sight of me naked before him on the way to Hock's planet just caused the man to sigh. I did that, not with the intention of bedding him, but to see how he would react. I was surprised that all he did was toss me some clothes and tell me to leave.
It was safe to say the man was a monster and he could track me even when I was cloaked. I still haven't figured out how he does it but I'd bet my hoard that it's that damn helmet. Thing makes him look like a demon and it's sooooo shiny. I want to play with the thing but he keeps it near him at all times. Not when he showers though but the thing even had precautionary measures for that.
Shocked me the moment I touched the thing. I left it alone after that; there was his pistol too. Thing was impressive and the 200 years old bit made me far more curious. I had examined it a couple times already but it wasn't anything special. Just an old pistol that was incredibly well taken care of. Which brought out the incorrect rumors about him.
They described him as some demigod who was all knowing. With the body of an adonis and mind comparable to Genghis Khan. He was smart and in shape but he had neither of those. Red Eyes was an exceedingly normal looking person which was the scariest part of him.
If you didn't know who he was and he was dressed normally you would never guess that he was Red Eyes. He had a good body but he wasn't an adonis, he was above average for looks but wasn't hot, he didn't hold himself as someone that was better, he was smart but not a genius; he was normal. Hell, the man didn't even have a big dick; I mean it was above average but it wasn't anything special.
Though with that normality around him was a sense of… foreboding or fear. Just something that unnerved you whenever he was close. To put it simply he felt intrinsically wrong and it was scary… and kind of arousing. I wasn't looking for that, though I wouldn't say no to a night of fun.
This was all accentuated in where we were now. A little over a mile away from Hock's mansion sitting up in a tree and he was looking through the spotter scope while Garrus, his handsome Turian friend, fiddled with the massive sniper rifle that was sitting perched up on a branch. Next to Red Eyes was a notepad and the page almost filled to the brim with equations and notes to help with the shot.
I didn't much care if they killed Hock, I would be getting Keji's box soon enough. As for the shot though it was little over a mile away and at an upward slope, an incredible hard shot. Helped by the fact that his two other helpers, Samuel and Kelli, and put wind markers all the way to the mansion; little pieces of white string attached to tree branches and the rocky cliff to the mansion. Kelli had scaled the cliff the night before putting strings on the cliff so they could get an accurate wind measurement.
If I wasn't so frightened by their efficiency at the whole thing I might've been impressed. Instead I was just scared, these people were different. They were born and ready killers, something I wasn't. I was a thief, I enjoyed it and I'll be damned if anyone was even close to being better than me in the entire galaxy.
"Alright, I got the math done Garrus," Red Eyes spoke as he picked up his pen and finished up his equations on the notepad.
"Hit me."
"Max out the scope. Then you're going to want to aim four notches down and two to the left."
"You sure?"
"Yeah."
"Did you get the curvature of the planet too," there was silence for a few moments while Red Eyes looked over his notes before flipping to a new page.
"Give me a minute," it was nearly an exact minute later that he was done.
"Alright, now I got it. Again, max out the scope. Four and a half notches down, two and a quarter to the left."
"Got it," Once Garrus said those words Red Eyes turned to me.
"I would go now Kasumi. Once he's dead we won't be staying long and we will leave you here if you aren't back in an hour."
I didn't answer verbally and left them to do their work.
POV: Aedon Red Eyes
Kasumi had left us about 15, maybe 20 minutes ago to go get her box thing back. As for us we were still waiting on Hock to get out onto the balcony. I was looking through the spotter scope looking for the man while Garrus looked through his scope and waited. I wonder ho… Ah there he is.
"Target sighted. Fire when he puts his hands on the railing."
Garrus gave a grunt of acknowledgement as he waited for Hock to put his hands on the railing. He didn't have to wait long as all Hock did was take out a cigar, light it and then he put his hands on the railing with the cigar in his mouth. As soon as he hands touched the railing Garrus fired. Fucker was as loud as I thought it would be and it did as much damage as advertised.
The shot was dead on and hit Hock just below his sternum. Punched completely through his chest and left a whole the size of a baseball through his chest. The gore and blood exploding everywhere. Hock looked shocked for a second before his body flopped backwards lifeless.
"Good hit. Target is KIA."
"WHAT!" Looking over I saw Garrus looking at me in confusion.
It was only then that I noticed he wasn't wearing the ear muffs I had given him. Sighing I signed 'good hit' to him and he nodded before picking up the sniper rifle and slinging the strap over his shoulder. Picking up the spotter scope I put it across my bandolier before leading the way down the tree.
Getting to the bottom Samuel was waiting for us as he looked at the surrounding forest for trouble. Once I landed I joined him in the process and waited until Garrus came down and tapped me on the shoulder. Once I got the tap I tapped Samuel and we made our way back to my ship. We had landed it in a small clearing not far from here two nights ago. As we got to the ship the door opened for us with Kelli standing at the top of the steps letting us in.
"We gonna wait for Kasumi or not boss?" Kelli asked once I entered. I checked the time on my omni-tool before answering.
"She's got 35 minutes to either get back or make contact. She doesn't do either we leave," no one voiced their disagreement or agreement for that. So I guess it was agreeable enough.
So we waited for Kasumi to make contact and when we didn't hear anything at the 30 minute mark I started the ship and prepared to take off. Two minutes later I spotted her running out of the woods into the clearing. I opened the door from the cockpit with a flick of a switch and she bounded into the ship with no hesitation .
"GO!" she yelled out and I didn't need to be told twice.
I hit an emergency burn and shot up into the sky shooting straight into space uncaring of anything else. As I got out into space I evened out and slowed down so everyone wasn't plastered on the ground. When everything was good I put the ship into an idle and went to the back.
Kasumi was slumped against the door to the cargo bay staring at me in an unamused. Garrus was next to her holding the sniper rifle to his chest trying to catch his breath. Then the cargo bay's door opened and Kelli stepped out staring at me with a scowl. Samuel right behind her looking none the worse for wear.
"I'm flying. You can clean up the cargo bay," I wanted to argue but decided against it when I got a look at the cargo hold. It was a mess and that was definitely my fault; I didn't even give them a warning before the take off.
"Were you being chased?" I asked Kasumi as Kelli stormed past me. Samuel just went to the fridge and grabbed a snack.
"I'm pretty sure I lost them before I got to the ship."
"Then you're joining me," and I walked past them into the cargo hold to clean it up.
Now for the Batarian. A few days later we had parked our ship about ten miles from the base of the Batarian. I was a little under 600 yards from said base and was looking through the scope of my new sniper rifle. I had observed the guy landing a few hours ago and went into his base. Unfortunately I didn't have a shot when he got there.
As for right now Kasumi along with Samuel was approaching the guards of the base. There were four in total and Samuel and Kasum should be able to take care of two of them in one go. It would be my job to take care the third and Garrus to take care of the fourth. He was a couple hundred meters closer than me with his sniper.
"Samuel, you're cleared hot. We move on you," I got a single click from the radio in acknowledgment.
A few moments later one of the guards had his throat slit and he dropped like a sack of potatoes. The man next to him looked surprised for all a moment before blood spouted from his neck and he fell backwards dead. With those done I fired my shot and hit my target in the face. His head was gone and his buddy didn't even get to react before his head snapped back from a shot.
Slinging the sniper over my shoulder and across my back I sprinted to the base. It took me a few minutes but I got there quickly and regrouped with the others. Kasumi wasn't there but she was going to the the ship he came on to sabotage it.
Stacking up at the door Kelli got a tap from me and she put a breaching charge on the door. Before she blew it I hit a pulse and got an accurate count for people inside. A total of 15 signatures came back, all red. Perfect, it was just an extermination mission.
Kelli then blew the door and we barged in. Popping the first three people inside with a combination of Kelli's biotics, Garrus' gun and my ax they all died quickly. As soon as they were dead we jumped into cover and I prepped a grenade.
Throwing it forward towards where I saw two people in cover. My grenade didn't get a single one of them but it forced them to dive out of cover. They both got popped quickly and were dead.
From there it was just us mowing them down. Steadily advancing into the base, one grenade at a time. And when the grenade wasn't there it was a combination of combined suppressing fire from four of the best operators in the galaxy. It helped that we apparently caught them off guard.
Most of the guards weren't even in armor and had been relaxing. That was their downfall as it wasn't really even a fight. It took us barely 20 minutes to kill the rest of the guards in the place. Even the basement held nothing; it had evidence of people being there recently but we had been too late.
As we finished everything up I went from the basement up to the top floor where a singular room was. Hitting the pulse I saw only one in there and brought out my recently sawed off double barrel. Hacking the door open the Batarian was already charging at me but my shotgun was still out.
I waited a moment for him to get closer before I pulled the trigger. Two 10 gauge shells roared out and slammed into the Batarians right knee. It completely eviscerated it and amputated the leg making the Batarain fall to the floor in Shock. Discharging the shells I loaded two more before looking down at the Batarian's face to confirm it was the right one. It was and I took a picture for confirmation before I fired the double barrel again, this time at his face.
The shot took his face and head with it. A headless corpse… fucker was lucky he wasn't a biotic or I would've drained him.
Still, that was two of the three dead and it had only taken us a total of 16 days. Now, it was time for the Salarian.
We were behind the moon of the planet the Salarian's base was on and were just waiting for her to get back. According to Liara she would come back here every couple of weeks and we already scouted the base. There was no point in getting planet side yet so we were waiting in space.
I was currently going over a few reports on the Salarian and seeing what type of weapons or people she employed. None were all that impressive or fearful. She operated almost exactly like a good bank robber. New crew every time and almost all of them were from different walks of life. The only ones that were a steady group with her were the guards currently in and around her base on the planet.
As for how we would know when she got here Samuel had that covered. Info on the Salarian suggested she operated on old time radio's and would contact her base when she was close. Samuel was currently monitoring radio traffic and would let us know when he picked something up.
While going over the reports Kasumi appeared in the chair across from me on the table. I didn't pay her much mind, I had gotten used to her appearing out of nowhere. Though it was annoying when I would change or be in the shower. She was a bit of a perv and would always peek at us. Yeah, she did it to everyone.
"When are we leaving, I didn't sign up for a two month job," she complained to me. I looked up from the papers giving her a blank stare before looking back to the notes and responded without looking at her.
"You didn't sign up at all so you are here until the job is done," she let out an exasperated sigh as she slumped in her chair.
"And when will the job be done? You're no fun."
"When we kill the Salarian."
"And why are we? I get you don't like these people but besides the Batarian these people aren't ones you go after. At least that's what the brokers say," I stopped going over the notes and stared at her fully this time.
"Do you really want to know because once you find out there is no going back. Your 'fun' will be gone," she seemed to think it over for a few seconds before responding.
"You are no fun," she teased before disappearing.
"Ignorance is bliss Kasumi."
A day after my conversation with Kasumi on the ship we went down to the planet and prepped an ambush near the base. Said base was in the middle of the desert on the planet so we had our work cut out for us in terms of hiding but we made it work.
We did so but coating ourselves in dark rain tarps and lying in the sand with them. It gave the tarps a look that they were a part of the desert and for our weapons we wrapped them in webbing that caught the sand so it wouldn't hurt the guns. Once that was all set we got into position around the base, no more than 200 meters away and waited for the Salarian to come.
It took exactly two and a half days for the bitch to show up. When she did she dragged out a struggling little Asari. It was hard to judge the girls age but she had to be young. As she struggled to get away from the Salarian someone else came out of the ship and hit the Asari in the back of the head. It took me all of a moment to realize who it was, fucking Kai Lang. The ultimate Space Weeaboo. Along with about six other Blue Suns.
As the Asari collapsed to the ground the Salarian started talking to Kai Lang. Knowing this would be my best shot until they got into the base I clicked my radio once giving the signal. Once the signal went through I fired my Barrett at the Salarian signaling the start of our ambush.
At over a mile it could punch through a body and leave a hole, at a little under 600 yards it could take a shielded person's head off. At just about 100 yards though on a Salarian, well suffice it to say that she no longer had a torso. It was just gone along with her shoulders. I'm not gonna lie, I love this fucking GUN!
The others were already moving in on Kai Lang and the Blue Suns. Of the six three of the Blue Suns were already dead and they were all pushing back to the ship they had just gotten out of. One of the remaining ones tried to go and grab the Asari girl but I put a shot through the side of his chest as he ran. It hit right under his armpit and detached that part of his body from the rest while evaporating most of his side.
At that they cut their losses and took off. We pinged the side of their ship but didn't pursue. Neither of our ships were equipped offensively so even if we caught them we wouldn't be able to do much of anything. Besides, we had accomplished our job. The Salarian was dead and we had an Asari to return.
Clicking the radio twice we all got out of our cover and moved forward towards the bodies. Checking the Salarian just to confirm it was her, it was; I took a picture for evidence. Her head wasn't in the best of shape but it was good enough to confirm the kill. As I did that Kelli and Kasumi attended to the Asari girl making sure that she was okay.
"Wha… what happened?" the Asari girl said as she started to wake up. When she did she pushed Kasumi away before trying to sprint away. She got a few feet before Kelli put her into a stasis. From there I took over and walked in front of the girl while she was in stasis. She seemed to recognize me and if possible she looked even more frightened than before.
"I'm not here to kill you girl. We just killed your kidnapper," I spoke pointing at the body of the Salarian.
She of course couldn't see it and Kelli disengaged her Stasis to allow her to move. However, the Asari decided to attack me instead with a biotic powered fist. I caught it with my augmetic hand absorbing the biotics into myself before twisting her around and showing her the body.
She struggled for a few moments before she really looked at the body. When she did her struggling stopped and I released her. She walked up to the head of the Salarian slowly before she tensed up and ran at the head. Once she was close enough she brought her leg back and kicked the head. An NFL kicker would've been proud of the distance she got on the head.
"CUNT!" the girl screamed out before dancing around in joy. When she was done dancing she ran to each of us hugging us. I was first and Garrus was last; though she seemed to latch herself onto Garrus for a lot longer than anyone else.
"What's your name girl and we'll take you home," I spoke aloud, getting her attention. She pulled away from Garrus giving him a sultry smile and I got a look of 'help me' from Garrus as the girl turned away from him.
"Suliz Raros. My mother is on the Council of Matriarchs on Thessia," she said with a bright smile and I couldn't help but groan a little. I knew that smile, one of the verge of adulthood and probably horny all the time. Plus Thessia was at least a three day trip, this was going to be aggravating.
My prediction was proven correct. It was incredibly aggravating to have the Asari on board my ship as we went to Thessia. Not only was she a flirt, which isn't all that bad, but she was handsy. All the goddamn time running her hands over someone. At one point she was handsy on Kelli and Kelli just put her in a Stasis before locking her in the cargo hold for a couple of hours.
She was peeved at that but got the message, or at least we thought she did. She just stopped being handsy on Kelli. Everyone else continued to suffer except for me. I told her I was taken and when that seemed to increase her efforts I took off my helmet and glared at her. It was the best I could do without just punching her lights out but it worked. She might've thought I was a knockoff Red Eyes but when she saw my face she realized it was actually me.
She was sufficiently cowed away from touching me after that. Still, that left Samuel, Kasumi and Garrus to suffer. Though, Kasumi seemed to enjoy it as long as the girl didn't touch anything lower than her waist. It was a bit interesting to say the least but I wasn't about to touch that with a 20 foot pole.
With all that though it was her mouth that was the worst. I valued silence when I could get it but she just never shut up. All day, all night, constant yapping like a fucking chihuaha. It got to a point on the morning of the third day where I really contemplated the pros and cons of just shooting her and being done with it. My rational side won out… although it was a rather close call.
At the end of the third Day my irrational side was starting to have increasingly good points but they got dashed once we had Thessia in sight. Then we almost got shot out of the sky by their ships in orbit. A ship that didn't register anywhere and came out of the Mass Relay and bypassed their customs after a Matriarch's daughter was taken. I wasn't offended they shot at us though it was annoying.
That was only moment where I was happy to have the girl on board. She got on the radio and told the ships that it was her and she was indeed the Matriarch's daughter. We had to use the communicator screen to prove it but meh. Still, we were told to wait and after an hour or so of waiting an elegant Asari appeared on the communicator screen.
"You have my Suliz," she stated giving me the patented 'I'm better than you look' almost all Asari have mastered. Though I could see a tinge of fear in there, she recognized my helmet.
"Yes."
"What do you want?" ahh, okay I get the hostility now. We actually hadn't said we were here to give her back.
"We killed her kidnapper. A Salarian by the name of Tolaw Velusa; we're just here to return her," I sent the picture of Tolaw's head to over the channel to the Asari. She looked down from the call for a moment before she brightened.
"I ask you to accept my apology. I have been… stressed since my daughter had been taken."
"I want a favor in the future. Any time, anywhere," was my immediate response. Favors are always more powerful and the way her face scrunched up at my words she understood this.
"A favor owed to the Torchbearer or is it Red Eyes now… Or shall I call you Aedon?" I really do not like the sound of my name from people who aren't my friends.
"Just call me Torch and yes. A favor owed to me, I did get your daughter back and brought her here despite her unwillingness to be quiet," that got a small chuckle out of the Asari.
"Yes, she doesn't know the value of silence quite yet… Is there anything else you want?"
"The bounty on Tolaw paid in full along with the bounty for Rethan Sebbohal. I confirmed their kills and would like the bounty," the Council wasn't paying me for the kills. Might as well get the money on their heads. I sent her the picture of Rethan too to boot.
"I will have the police wire you the money soon."
"Once that goes through I'll take your daughter wherever you need me to," was my response and she nodded before ending the call.
Thirty minutes later the money went through and upon receiving the money I split it up to the squad. Five minutes after that I got a location to head to. I opened up the cockpit and told them what was going on before I took the ship down to the location. It was a Mansion near the ocean on Thessia. A rather beautiful view to be honest.
As we landed on the platform provided the view went out of my mind. Right off the platform was Matriarch Raros along with a contingent of Asari commandos. Garrus, who was with me in the cockpit now, went to the back to tell the others to be prepared in case anything happens.
Landing the ship I kept the engine running as I popped open the door and gestured to the group. I went out first with Garrus right behind me, Samuel behind him and then Suliz with Kelli behind her. The Matriarch relaxed upon seeing her daughter and walked forward to her. Suliz ran straight to her with no resistance from Kelli meeting her mother right in front of me.
Glancing at Kelli she seemed to be in a state of shock. Looking from her to the Commando's two of them seemed to be in the same state. An older one, around Kelli's age, and a younger one that didn't look all that much older than Suliz. They stared at each other for a few moments while the mother daughter reunited before rushing towards each other.
All three met near the Matriarch resulting in a few shouts from the commando's. Samuel made to raise his weapon but I raised my hand to stop him. As for Kelli and the two unknowns they were holding each other and crying taking the attention of everyone including the Matriarch and her daughter.
After a minute or two the three separated from each other before the older of the two commando's slapped Keli.
"How long!" she shouted at Kelli.
"Little less than a year," another slap and if this was what I thought it was I didn't blame them.
"And you couldn't call, couldn't send an email! Nothing! What the FUCK Kelli," again the older one but this time the younger one shoved her at the end of her little tirade.
"Look at who she's with Jin," she pointed directly at me and then to Garrus. "She's a part of them. You think she's had time." Garrus and I exchanged looks at that, both of us just going along with it.
"Relationship?" I asked looking at Kelli.
"Younger sister and twin."
"Do you want time?"
"Yes boss," she gave me a bright smile and I looked too the Matriarch.
"Would you be willing to entertain us?" The Matriarch looked at her daughter silently for a few moments before looking at Kelli.
"What happened?"
"Was a Batarian slave for 80 years then a Blood Pack slave for 20 before he came along," she nodded towards me.
"Then let us retire. Suliz, get the tea ready."
I'll be the first to admit that I did not see this day going the way it did. I was just happy that we were going to get rid of the chatterbox and gain silence but then Kelli had a reunion. We spent five hours in the mansion and most of it was spent with Suliz and her mother. Suliz made us tea while Kelli was off catching up with her sisters.
Still, Suliz just did not stop talking. Never once did she stop talking and about halfway through our time there I looked longingly at my sawed-off. I didn't act on it of course but the mother saw it and sent Suliz away. When she did that I honestly thought about letting that be the favor but decided against it.
Either way we spent a bit talking and it was honestly a bit refreshing. The Matriarch was a smart woman and surprisingly sassy. Verbal sparring with her was fun and I would love to see her and Wrex go at it. I would pay money to see it to be honest, masters of shit talking.
As all things must though, our time ended and we piled into the ship to leave. Kelli had a tearful goodbye with her sisters and promised to keep in contact. Soon after we left and Kasumi appeared in the cockpit with me twirling something that had to have been the Matriarch's. I didn't ask.
Then we were finally headed back to Omega which would be a four day trip. That being said, the trip was uneventful all the way up until I took my ship into Omega and docked it in the Hanger provided. As soon as we exited the ship Nyreen was there with a datapad. She didn't say anything to me as she saw me and simply tossed the datapad.
On it was a picture of Samara… No, that was Morinth. Ugh. I then handed the datapad to Garrus. He looked at it for a few seconds before looking back at me. I just nodded confirming his suspicions.
"Has she done anything yet?" He asked Nyreen.
"Not yet. My best are monitoring her at all times though."
"Keep it that way. She starts trying something then we move in. Otherwise we wait for the Justicar and point her that way."
"10,000 credits says she tries to fuck with me within the month," I spoke looking at Garrus outstretching my hand.
"I give it a week. And if she approaches you, you can't avoid her on purpose," he gave me a smirk at that.
"Deal."
After that I left them and went to my apartment. There I went to Girl's room and kissed her forehead as she slept, beautiful girl. My little princess. AFter that I grabbed a joint out of the fridge where it was sitting and lit it up. It was finally time to relax; at least while I could.
That's the chapter folks. Hope you enjoyed. Much thanks and Review when you can, helps me get better.
