Hello everyone. Another Saturday, another chapter. Hope you enjoy and don't forget to review, help me get even better.
*Aedon Wynne POV*
We had to pull Shepard away from Pressley's body after a few minutes. It wasn't a pretty sight and I don't ever want to see him like that again. When we finally succeeded I radio'd into the Normandy and asked for anyone available to grab the bodies. Damn near the whole ship came out; even Joker and Dr. Chakwas.
It was a good sight to see that everyone was willing to do their part here. Especially since it seemed to get Shepard in better spirits. Still, we brought him away from the bodies at least for a bit. He couldn't be around them without starting to cry and I couldn't blame him. I don't know how I would react if I came into a graveyard of all my subordinates from Omega but I know I wouldn't handle it well.
When all the bodies were rounded up we brought them into the Normandy and put them in the cold storage area. It wasn't a dignified position for them but we didn't have anywhere to actually put them and it was better than leaving them in space.
After that was all done with Garrus, Shepard, myself, Dr. Chakwas and Joker all joined in the bar. We would spend over three hours in there drinking and telling stories about the Normandy. Almost all the stories we knew already but it felt good to here them again after seeing the remnants of the Normandy. It was a good thing for us and for Shepard.
At the end of those three hours we went back to where we had been stationed on the ship. Well, all of us except for Shepard. He stayed in the bar area and I had a sneaking suspicion we would need to pick up alcohol at the Citadel too. If this continues I might have to knock some sense into him like during his Cerberus shit on the original Normandy. Time will tell for that tho.
I on the other hand went to where the food was and decided on the way there that I would be dropping off Iris with Frank for a bit. It would be good for her to learn more and my mentors would be perfect for that if they were willing. When I got to the Mess Hall I called him as I grabbed my food.
"Hey kid, how's everything?" Frank answered my call after a single ring.
"Been good old man. Listen, I'll be on the Citadel in a day or so and need a couple favors."
"What's up?"
"The shield generator for my armor is shot. I need a new one and I need to learn how to replace it myself in need be."
"Sure, I can do that for ya no problem. What's the other favor?"
"Could you look after Iris for a bit. It should only be for a couple of months and y'all could also teach her a couple of things, she's too much like me Frank," I told him. He seemed conflicted for a moment before sighing and nodding his head.
"Yeah, I can do that. Gotta tell me why though."
"Shepard is back from the dead and we're going after the Collectors. They've been abducting whole human colonies in the Terminus Sector. And I don't want to leave her on Omega."
"I get it. You don't want anyone to get any ideas and go after her," he stated. I nodded in response. "There anything else you need kid?"
"No. I'm all set old man. Anything you need from me?"
"Just stay alive kid. Be smart and stay alive."
We stared at each other silently for a few moments before I nodded my head. Each of us understanding that his words weren't something I could truly control but I would do my damndest to control it. When the moment ended he terminated the call and I ate my meal.
Once I was done I went back to my room and told Iris that when we got to the Citadel she would be staying with Uncle Frank for a bit. She did not like and wanted to stay with me; even through a tantrum about it. Still, I was eventually able to calm her down and told her that she could get training from him. I just had to leave her there because I didn't want her in too much danger while she was with us. She made me promise to visit as often as I could and I agreed.
After that I did a little training with her before going doing maintenance on my weapons. The old song and dance of my routine. I did it religiously for a few hours before stopping and deciding that now was the best time to head to bed. It was early than usual, being only eight o'clock, but I was too tired mentally to really do anything else.
I woke up the next morning to someone knocking on my door. Getting up I put on my helmet and grabbed my pistol, the paranoia ever present, and approached the door. Opening it Garrus was standing there dressed in his gear. He told me that would be landing on the Citadel in a few hours and we'd be heading out with Shepard. Everyone on the ground crew but Jack and Zaeed would be heading out to do with Shepard.
I nodded and closed the door. I then woke Iris up and went through the katas I had taught her before going through my own for little over an hour. After that it was a shower and breakfast before I brought Iris to the med bay and had her talk with Dr. Chakwas. It worked out well as I still technically wasn't done with my crash course from her either. So we both got educated in the art of first aid.
It was here that I learned that even though I'm still technically a human my blood is too different to be used for a blood transfusion. I could recieve blood from people as my system would adapt the blood but giving was a no go. After she told me that she took some blood for 'tests' as she called them. Didn't matter to me, she wasn't invasive or rude about it so why not.
Iris and I spent the better part of three hours there. At the end of it Joker's voice came over the PA and announced that we were only about 30 minutes from landing on the Citadel. When he said that I took Iris back to our room and had her pack. She looked to be almost on the verge of tears but a long hug and some encouraging words and she was back to being the determined little girl who was my daughter.
When she was all packed and ready to go I put on my helmet and grabbed my knife, ax, pistol and Mattock just in case. We then went to the airlock where the rest of the group was already waiting. They spared a glance at Iris and her bag but otherwise said nothing about her being packed.
Looking at everyone it seemed that Miranda and Jacob didn't get the memo about being paranoid. Both Shepard and Garrus were armed like myself while Jacob and Miranda weren't. The only thing I could commend them for here was the fact that they had the sense to wear clothes that didn't have a Cerberus logo.
Either way, a few minutes after Iris and I got there we docked and the airlock opened for us. Stepping through I noticed that all of my mentors were waiting in front of us at the dock. All of them sporting smiles as they saw myself and Iris. Walking straight up to Frank I brought him into a hug, one that he returned.
"Good to see you young man," Miss T'Kari said as I pulled away from Frank and she grabbed me pulling me into a hug with her. Pulling away from her Volio gave my hand a good shake and patted me on the shoulder, sporting a smile the whole time but not uttering a word. As for Ceelo, well he was the same, gave me a nod before trying to hack my omni-tool. I repelled him and he grunted at the result; satisfied that I hadn't neglected my hacking abilities.
"How'd you guys know where we were going to be docked?" I asked them after we said our hello's.
"Ceelo hacked the communications network and found it," Frank said simply. Ceele just gave me a stiff nod at the words.
"Wanted to make sure my student was still up to form."
"I missed you too Ceelo," I chuckled out.
Looking down at Iris she looked up to me before looking back to my mentors. Getting down to one knee I stared into her eyes for a long time before taking my helmet off. Looking her in the eyes I put a hand on her head and ruffled her hair.
"Be a good girl. I'll make sure to visit okay?" she nodded bleary eyed before throwing her arms around my neck and burying her face into the crook of my neck. We stayed that way for a minute before she pulled away, wiped her tears and walked over to Miss T'Kari. Grasping the offered hand with her smaller one.
"I love you Iris," she stopped and turned around to face me before giving a glowing smile back.
"I love you too dad," god that warmed my heart. I then watched her leave with my mentors. Popping my helmet back on I walked back to where Shepard and the others were. At which I got to hear the ending conversation between him and an ad… An ad I remembered. Looks like Kasumi was still joining the group, no idea why though. This fact was hammered in when I felt her try to take the knife from my leg.
"Leave it Kasumi," I spoke out loud not even bothering to look at my knife knowing it was there. She appeared at my side and gave me a pout, one that was completely ineffective.
"Still no fun," she pouted before spinning on her heel and walking away with an extra sway in her step before for a few feet before her camouflage kicked in and she disappeared.
I shook my head and walked up to Shepard and the others. No words were exchanged between us and we filed into the main entrance in front of us. Garrus went first and he received a clean scan. Miranda and Jacob followed behind him and each received clean scans as well. However, when Shepard went through an alarm went off and two Turian soldiers came out of the side doors with their guns held high.
Shepard gave the two soldiers blank looks and kept his hands in the air. Barely a second after that Bailey came into the room and ordered the two soldiers back to where they had been before having a few words with Shepard. I didn't bother trying to listen in but I did jump into the area and followed right behind Shepard and Bailey. Didn't want to go through the hassle of all that if I got scanned. I am still technically wanted in Council Spcare after all.
So as I got through I stood with the group and they just happened to be standing behind Shepard… and Bailey got to see me clearly. He went completely still before looking to Shepard and back to me. The gears worked in his head for a few seconds before he took a deep breath and addressed me.
"Are you here to fulfill your promise or are you with Shepard?" his voice was tired and definitely didn't want the trouble I could cause.
"I'm with Shepard," Bailey breathed a sigh of relief before going back to his computer and making sure it showed Shepard as alive now. The rest of the group, besides Garrus, looked at me with confusion but didn't ask. I wouldn't tell them unless they asked.
Either way, Bailey only took another minute or two to get Shepard into the system. Once he was done with that he ordered us a cab and paid the fee up front. Bailey told us that we would heading to the Presidium to do what we wanted. He then told us that the Council will be having a remote meeting and the Human embassy is still in the same spot.
So without further ado we all piled into the cab and it took us to the Presidium. Looking around the Citadel as we dro ve the place had gone through one hell of a makeover. Still the same place for the most part but you could tell a lot of it was new and probably recently finished all things considered.
A lot more streamlined architecture you normally find in quickly built building; post WW2 buildings. However, they were far more vibrant for the houses but at the same time the depravity and hidden monster of the Citadel had only increased. People were separated by station even more so than Illium was; the difference between the lower and upper class was enormous. The fact that I could see that from just the drive alone was extremely concering. The council needed to do something about this before it spiraled out of control.
Speaking of the Council I took one look at Shepard and knew it was him that Bailey should've been asking about. His scars, still not fully healed, pulsing a dull red and he stared dead ahead like he was about to head into death. I was really concerned he would just walk in there and kill Udina. Not like it would really be a loss but that's not really something that can be swept under the rug. It wouldn't be good for anyone.
Plus, it would be one hell of a hassle to try and get the Council not to order his death if he killed Udina. I'd be obligated too but I could just not but then I would become a rogue agent my current bounty would explode in value. I'll just make sure Udina survives, I can worry about everything else later.
With those thoughts rattling around in my mind we arrived at the Presidium. The cab dropped us off in the middle of everything and before any of us could say anything Shepard was already power walking away. Knowing where he was going we all went after the man. Sure enough we caught up to him just in time to see him enter into the Human embassy. To which I swore before taking off in a sprint, I did not want him in there alone right now.
Hacking the door open as I ran I jumped inside was just in time to witness Shepard deck Anderson with a viscous right cross. He stood over Anderson menacingly and I could tell just from his body language he wasn't done; at least he didn't want to be. I made that decision for him though by grabbing him around the waist, his anger making him oblivious to my approach, and lifted him up hauling him away.
Once I was a sufficient distance away and the others came into the room I dropped Shepard and pushed him towards Garrus. Who restrained Shepard from behind. He looked even less pleased at the turn of events but I silently stared into his face. A battle of wills went on between us and it was one I was winning. No matter his anger, he knew what he had just done could put the mission, and humanity by extension, into jeopardy.
"Son, I understand your anger b-" Anderson started behind me but that seemed to be the wrong thing to say.
"DO YOU ANDERSON!" Shepard roared his scars now blazing red. "I understand my recovery not happening, my body was taken, but to leave the bodies of everyone who didn't make it on that planet in the middle of fucking NOWHERE!" Shepard ripped himself out of Garrus' grip. "How could you allow this to happen?"
His voice was so broken and filled with pain. This wasn't a warrior anymore, this was a man who had been an orphan and grew up alone. Who's first team had been completely slaughtered, leaving him the only survivor. Who only had one legitimate father figure in his life and that same man had left Shepard's soldiers rot in space. Fuck me.
"Son… It wasn't my choice," Anderson pleaded out to Shepard even outstretching his hand out but Shepard just backed away from him and shook his head. He walked out the door without a sound; Garrus and the others following but I didn't. Besides, I knew Shepard; he would give them the slip and find a quiet spot to sit and think. That being said, this really would have gone worse all things considered.
Turing back to Anderson after watching Shepard leave I simply shook my head. The man looked devastated but that wasn't something I needed to worry about right now. My only concern was that three of the Council had seen the whole interaction. Valern and Tevos had their poker faces securely intact but Sparatus looked livid. Sighing I walked forward and made ready to face the music that would be this conversation.
However, before I could do so Udina stepped into the room. He looked his usual snobbish self but you could also see the apprehension in his face. If I had to guess he had run into Shepard on the way here and either stayed out of his way or got a quick earful. I didn't hear anything so I didn't know. Before I could do anything though Sparatus snapped at Udina.
"Care to explain why the Systems Alliance hasn't even bothered to recover the bodies from those who didn't survive the Normandy's destruction," you could almost feel the anger coming off of Sparatus. It made sense too, Turians were military through and through. Never a man left behind, even if it was just a body.
"It was deemed a lost vessel and we decided that since it was lost in space that looking for the remains would be counterproductive," Udian said in a calm voice you would expect from any experienced politician.
"The Normandy was Human and Turian with a human crew. The amount of tech on that ship alone made it deserving of being found and the crew as well. I may not agree with everything that Shepard did or said but he saved us and he couldn't have done it without that crew or the Normandy… I am beyond words Councillor Udina," I did not expect that amount of vitriol.
The whole room was stunned into silence as well. Regaining my bearings first I nodded in appreciation to Sparatus before ignoring both Anderson and Udina and walked towards the holograms of the Councillors. Standing before them Tevos took the reigns of the conversation.
"Report Spectre," her voice came out clipped but calm. Guess she was of the same mind as Sparatus. Guess they actually got my message the first time around. They were all in.
"It's him. I can tell, he's the real deal… I ask you to excuse his behavior here today. He's had an especially shitty week."
"Week?" Valern questioned.
"He's been awake for six days Councillors. He's technically not even supposed to be awake at the moment, his scars arent't even fully healed if you didn't notice the glowing ones on his face."
"Is there anything we can do to help at the moment?" Sparatus asked.
"Reinstate him as a Spectre, it'll help us in the long run. Besides that just keep growing your armies, see what you can do about the low income areas on the Citadel and don't worry about Shepard. I'll get him back on track soon enough."
"Done," they all spoke with conviction at the words before both Tevos and Valern disappeared. Sparatus stayed behind though and addressed me.
"I must thank you Spectre. It has been a long while since I was reminded of what it meant to be a soldier," he spoke lifting his hand up and showing the mark I had burned into his palm still there. "I wish you luck in this mess and if should the need arise I will send who I can to help."
"Thank you sir," I then snapped off a crisp salute to the Turian. One that he returned before winking out. Turning around to face Udina and Anderson I spoke. "Cerberus just brought home the heroes who helped save the Citadel. I hope your PR team is good."
And with that I walked out of the room. I didn't bother looking at Udina or Anderson and began looking for Shepard on the Citadel. I looked everywhere I would've thought that he would went for two hours before saying fuck it and decided to find him at a later time.
Pushing that to the back of my mind I made my way to where Frank's store was located. A single cab ride later and I was at his doorstep. His store hadn't changed in the slightest besides the fact that it was more stocked than last time I was here. Business had definitely been good to the man.
Walking inside Frank was at the spot I had first seen him, behind the counter drinking a glass of whisky. Iris was nowhere in sight but I assumed that she was with Miss T'Kari. Either way as soon as Frank saw me he hit a button under his desk and the whole place locked down. My paranoia acting up I rested a hand on my pistol and knife before he pressed another button and a side door opened up.
Giving a motion with his head to follow he went through the side door and I followed taking my hands off my pistol and knife along the way. Inside the side room was a forge that had definitely been a money pit for a long while. However, it was well worth the money from what I could see. Custom made guns littered the floor and wall along with all types of ammunition and amor.
"Take off that armor and I'll show you how to install the new shield generator," he spoke and I followed his orders.
Over the next 30 minutes or so he installed the new generator and showed me how to properly install new ones if I needed to. While he did that Ceelo came through the side door as well and sat in the corner without speaking a word. I barely even noticed the old quarian but I didn't mind his presence at all.
When Frank was done he gave me a small hug and told me to call when I could. Iris would enjoy it. With Iris brought up I asked about her and he told me that she was currently talking Volio's ear off about explosives. I let out a chuckle at that and then Frank left the room leaving just myself and Ceelo in the room.
"Let me see your arm boy," I walked over to him and presented my augmetic to him and he went over it with the fine tuned experience of an old Quarian. After a few minutes he hummed before letting go of it.
"You've kept it in good shape. Good. Give me a moment though," he then got up from his seat and went around the room and grabbed a few small pieces of metal. After he picked up the third one I recognized them as the bits that I needed to do maintenance on for my arm. He grabbed several pieces of each.
"You'll need these to do a proper maintenance job on your arm boy. With how you fight and move they'll wear the most," he said as he handed me all the pieces in a small bag. I hooked the bag to my side so I wouldn't forget it.
"Thanks Ceelo," I said before giving the old man a hug. I didn't even do it because I wanted to, I did it because I knew it annoyed the old man.
"Just stay alive boy. You're too good of a student to die this young," he said pushing me away.
"Of course old man. Stay safe," I said before leaving the shop.
I barely even made it a foot outside the door before another cab pulled up. However, this one was rather fancy looking and was definitely not your run of the mill cab; this was a limo. It didn't quite have the haughty tone of superiority though. It had a grasp of elegance in both the design and how it functioned. The question as to why it was like that was answered almost immediately as the door opened and Sha'ira, the Asari Consort, stepped out with all her elegance and faced me. Her visage cool and serene with a calming smile plastered on her face.
"It's good to see you Mr. Wynne," she spoke in her honeied voice before stepping to the side and gestured inside the limo.
I didn't bother answering and got in the limo. I guess she was proactive in her means of getting me to come visit her. Guess she knew that I had absolutely no plans to and chose to change the outcome. It was an action I respected even if it wasn't at the best time. Still, she wasn't someone to blow off.
Sitting on the comfy seats inside the limo I spread myself out and got comfortable. Sha'ira sat down across from me and sat in her usual elegant manner. Quietly demanding respect with the way she sat but never forcing it upon me. I respected it and gave her the rightly earned respect.
"I believed it was prudent to ambush you to make the meeting happen," she spoke with a sly smile.
"You believed right Sha'ira," I chuckled out. "How have you been?"
"Good try but we aren't discussing me," she kept the sly smile on her face before she continued. "You have done so much in your short time as who you are. You've become who you are truly meant to be. Not an assassin or warrior fueled by anger or spite but a leader. A leader who cares deeply about those around you and covets those relationships.
Not only that but always striving to better yourself. Endlessly finding ways to improve upon yourself and make the galaxy a better place. I guess that was your goal from the beginning. You have fought, bled, screamed and raged against this galaxy to make it better.
I have been alive for a very long time Aedon and when I say that you are one of the few people I've met that make me glad to live in this galaxy I mean it. You have the balls and conviction to fight against the injustice of the galaxy and for that I thank you… I am truly glad to have met someone like you in this age."
"T-Thank you," I stammered out. I never expected that from her or for her to believe it so strongly. It made me proud to hear those words but she makes it seem like I'm almost a folk hero. I am not worthy of that title.
"Your thanks is not necessary. Just keep doing what you have been; that is all I ask," I was stunned into silence. I did not expect this to go like this. As I was taking in her words she reached over and ran a hand over my knife.
"Stubborn to the end, willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for the betterment of others," she then ran a hand over my ax. "Powerful enough to make sure your actions reach far and wide and inspire others," then she grabbed my pistol. "But you are molded by your Serenity; you make sure that you don't fall down the rabbit hole you know you could. Believe in yourself more, you've earned it.
For the second time in as many minutes I was stunned into silence. This woman was a whole different breed than I expected her to be. As she said those words too I thought back to Virmire when I looked at the coins. Stubbornness, Power, and Serenity. Those are what I had felt from them.
"Now, what will you do about Shepard?" She asked out of the blue as I was still digesting her words.
"I don't know, he's a soldier and a leader above all but everything that's happened recently is hurting him. I don't know how to help."
"Then help him like you've helped so many others, be there for him… As much of a leader as you are when the Reapers come, and you know as well as I that they will, Shepard will be needed to scream the rallying call. The galaxy may respect and fear you above all others but he is the one that brings hope. The galaxy will look to him for that and he cannot be found wanting."
"And how do you suggest that? I wasn't able to find him earlier."
"Figure it out. I know you will."
With that the cab stopped and the door opened. I don't know where we were on the Citadel as I had never to this spot before but from what I could see it was a small park. Trees lined the edges of the area along with some beautiful flowers in their respective bays. A few bushes here and there to compliment everything along with a skinny little river flowing through the middle.
Observing this all the reason Sha'ira stopped here became apparent as I spotted Shepard sitting on a bench on the opposite side of the park. He was barely visible through the flower beds, bushes and trees blocking obscuring my line of sight but he was there, no mistaking it. Looking back at Sha'ira I gave her a nod before stepping out of the cab.
I gave one last look to her as I stepped out and in her hands she held a rosary. Smiling at me she nodded her head and the door closed behind her before the limo drove off. Shaking my head at the whole interaction I made my way to where Shepard sat slouched on the bench
He noticed me as I approached but simply didn't say or do anything. Instead he moved over on the bench to make room for myself. Sitting down I removed my helmet and did what he had been doing. Enjoying the serene view of the park; it was truly a nice sight. Something that I hadn't seen in a long time, and enjoyed in an even longer time.
We sat there in silence for a long time before I reached over and put my hand on his shoulder. It wasn't a gesture I made as a way to comfort him, it was made to tell him that I was here and would listen. Just like when he learned about Cerberus the first time around.
I kept my hand there for a few moments before he reached up and grabbed it with his own hand. Squeezing it a couple times he took a long sigh before sitting up straight and turning his head to look at me. He was silent for a few moments as he collected himself to speak.
"I fucked that up," I couldn't help but chuckle.
"Could've been worse. At least you just punched him and didn't do anything else," he removed his hand from my and I removed mine from his shoulder. He then rubbed his eyes and temples before responding.
"I just saw him and thought 'How could he?' and I couldn't stop myself. I don't know what I would've done if any of the ground team's body would've been among them."
"Well, they weren't… He practically raised you didn't he?"
"He was… is my mentor Wynne. You know the relationship," he leaned back against the bench sighing and continued. "I should apolagize sometime soon."
"You should. Not today though. You need to focus on yourself right now."
"Yeah, I know. I'm just wondering how all this shit is going to go down. From what I can see the Council still doesn't believe me. The Reapers will get here and we'll be wholly unprepared."
"No, we'll be ready. As ready as we can be at least."
"How can you say that? You know they don't believe us."
"You really think I would let you lie without doing something about it Shepard? I convinced them," he looked at me in opened mouth shock before recomposing himself.
"How," he all but whispered out.
"Kidnapped all of them the first three months after your death, branded their palms with my symbol and promised to kill them and keep doing so until one of their replacements got the message."
"And they bought that bluff?"
"It wasn't a bluff Shepard… and they sent the STG to do research and they found evidence enough that they've been convinced to up their war machines. We won't be in this fight alone Shepard. Not anymore," Shepard was silent for a few moments.
"What did they find?"
"The journals of the Councillors during the Geth Uprising. They were either indoctrinated or influenced like the Reapers, they acted like Saren and all were dead within the year."
"Christ… and you know for sure that their war machines have started?"
"Liara is an information broker now. She confirmed it for me," I gave him a smile and he returned it. For the first time since he woke up I saw actual hope on his face at the realization we weren't alone in this anymore.
At that we stopped talking and just enjoyed the scenery in front of us. I don't know how long we sat there in silence but when it ended I was sad to leave the place. I'll have to remember this park for later, it was so peaceful and quiet here.
Leaving it we called a cab and took it back to the dock and went to the Normandy. Getting there Shepard and I went our separate ways. I went back to my room and went through some exercises and I assumed he went back to his room. Not long after we got back to the Normandy though Garrus and the others came back.
Garrus stopped at my room and we had a quiet conversation about Shepard. He knew that, like me, we'd have to help him along the way. Shepard was our leader, no question, but that didn't mean we couldn't help him. We both should've seen that already but chose to still see him as the man who led us while we hunted Saren and not as who he was now. A man who literally came back from the dead and was seeing everything that had changed around him.
Moving on from that I made my way to the Med Bay. I wanted to talk to Dr. Chakwas about how she joined this crew. I didn't really explore how she got here in the game and went right back to the Alliance afterward. Especially since you just have to pick her up at the hospital and not get them cleared as you do for Donnely and Daniels, the engineers.
Walking into the Med Bay she was going over some papers and talking quietly to Mordin. I saw a glimpse of the paper when I walked up to them but everything on it was just complete mumbo jumbo to me. Everything Medical besides first aid went straight over my head.
"Dr. Chakwas," I announced to them both. Upon hearing me Mordin looked up and gave a nod.
"Ah Wynne, request blood for testing. That acceptable?" he spoke in his fast-paced tone.
"Yeah. Let me just take my armor off," I took off the top half of my armor and exposed my arm to Mordin. He went to work and put the needle in to take the blood. While he did so I looked to Dr. Chakwas.
"So Doc, how'd you get on this ship? You retire from the Alliance?" she turned away from her computer to look at me before talking.
"I didn't sign that ridiculous NDA and they canned me for it. Kept my license and was working at a hospital on Earth when Cerberus approached me to be the doc on this ship. I said no until they told me Shepard was alive and would be in command; said yes after that," when she was done talking she turned around and went back to working on her computer.
A minute or two after she was done Mordin pulled the needle from my arm. He gave me a nod and left with the blood to do his own tests. Once he left I put on my armor and left the Med Bay with only one thought. Where to next?
There we go folks. Hope y'all enjoyed the chapter.
