I congratulate you for deeming my summary interesting enough, dear reader. 'Overlord' is naturally the intellectual property of Maruyama Kugane and I will not earn money using his ideas.
This story is an alternate universe ( AU ), which will drastically drift from canon plot. Momonga is not a clueless fool, but a manipulative, honourless villain tumbling ever closer to madness, as he discovers the sanity shattering connection between the New World and Yggdrasil, and drives the powers that be to destruction.
Who would face such a god-like monster? Captain Nigun Grid Luin has to, a questionable hero from a fascist darwinian theocracy putting the phrase 'for the greater good' to the test as he tries to save humanity from the undead fiend.
My fanfiction will not mock any particular faith, but it will revolve heavily around ideas concerning spirituality and faith and their corruption. Please keep in mind this is just a story and only propagating my glory.
What do I aim for? If the original was like the anime I want this fanfiction to be like So Bin's Overlord art. If the original was a gothic ballad with a little pop mixed in, I want this fanfiction to be a dark wave - power metal bastard.
Be ready for very dark humour and basically anything but rape or any kind of lemon scene. Life is really cheap to an evil god, after all, and to fascists often, too. And by the way, the holocaust and nazi genocides were real, racism will find no evidence in real science for its bias. If you can not agree on those beliefs, please enjoy another story. I feel I have to mention it, since I know more about what will happen later, than you do ;) .
