MetalFox back with a short one.

Mar 1st
Well the day started off well. A smoke at 0800 and no snow. Then noon hit. Surprise, motherfucker! SNOW! I hate it here.

Mar 4th
Why are we here? We aren't doing anything. We were supposed to be relaxing. I suppose it can't be helped. But seriously we aren't even training, we aren't doing missions, all we do is fuck around and do nothing. I'm so done with this place, this unit. I should've never re-upped...

Mar 9th
Finally we have the equipment we need. Signal is restored! Emails can be checked! Life is looking up. Also no more MRE's. Tomorrow we're supposed to get hot chow. Actually a bit excited.

Mar 10th
Breakfast was a single sausage. Dinner was chili with beans. And they thought hot chow would raise morale?

Mar 13th
The ZSO just showed up today. Brought a cookout, footballs, basketball hoop, and some goody bags. Everyone was out smoking, eating, dancing, playing, and just relaxing and having a good time. This is how you boost morale!

Mar 20th
Sorry I haven't written in a while, but there's just nothing really going on. We aren't allowed to go to the border, none of the equipment is really breaking, and though there are tough days they aren't all that bad. The malaise of deployment is setting in. Also Chili with beans has been the only thing on the menu for the last week and a half. We've lived with the windows open to prevent getting gassed out by our own asses.

Mar 24th
We "acquired" a tv. Movie night is now every night, baby! Also Uno has become incredibly fierce in this room. No one is safe, everyone will be fucked over. Just finished reading my book. Got three more. I should be set.

Mar 25th
Uno has gotten so heated you could cook over the table when there's a game going. Strategy, intrigue, alliances, betrayal. Honestly an hour of Uno games is more entertaining than Game of Thrones.

Mar 26th
The only saving grace about being here is that every weekend we get to go on a cultural trip. See the local cities, eat real food, and have the ability to sneak away for a drink or two. Also the snow looks so much nicer on these medieval buildings. That or I've just gotten too used to seeing the rolling hills covered in the blanket of snow, so the change up looks better.

Mar 27th
I think we just set a world record for Uno. A game of just over 3 hours. Nobody is talking to each other. I am convinced that Uno is a microcosm of all Mammality, both good and bad.

Another month down and we're getting philosophical about Uno. Hopefully something happens next month so Nick doesn't go insane.

Thanks to those who have followed and/or commented. Hope you're still liking it!

'Til next time,
