The next day, I woke up before the sunset, and decided to walk to the place where Typhlosion was still sleeping (surely). I'll follow the group as soon as they leave the inn.
I dressed up, and went outside. I made sure nobody was watching me, and slipped inside the inn.
I waited for an hour, until I heard the door opening. Then, I quietly lift my sight, and I saw the group, ready to leave. I followed them, keeping a safe distance.
As I had already got the city's map on my phone, it seemed that they were heading to the amateur stadium. I couldn't help to shed a tear thinking about all those poor Pokémon that would die today.
Soon, they arrived there, and I decided to hide in the bushes. Sure enough, they began to spread out, and enter the stadium.
I stayed hidden for a short time, before entering the stadium. I could only see people battling in a somewhat friendly way. Some trainers challenged others, but I didn't see anything that indicated that they were trying to kill each other.
Soon, I found the guy I was following and the Charizard about to start a battle! I had to record it! The opponent's Pokémon was a Rattata, which, of course, didn't stand a chance against its opponent.
Well, if I'm right, the trainer himself might order the Charizard to kill the Rattata. Not a very nice thing to do, I must say. But, that isn't my concern. My concern is to prove that EVERYONE in Team Blaze is bad, and that they must be stopped as much as possible.
So, I decided to film the fight, and get as much footage as possible. After just mere seconds, the Rattata was defeated, and the Charizard gained victory.
Then, the unthinkable happened. As the Rattata's trainer got out the pokeball to call his Pokémon back, the Charizard let out a giant torrent of flames just in front of the poor guy, and then... proceeded to rip out the Rattata's corpse.
I froze for a second, and almost cried. But, I held it in, and captured the moment the trainer fell to the ground, defeated, and in shock. It sure is the worst feeling in the world. But, as hard as it was, I had to keep filming, and document everything.
I didn't want to miss anything.
However, I really wanted to see Typhlosion committing another atrocity. It wasn't like I wanted to see another innocent Pokémon dead... but... I knew him! From the deepest part of my soul, I wanted to show him what I recorded later, in order to make him feel guilty for what he did.
Sure enough, the day was far from concluded, and soon, the Team Blaze grunt went to rudely disturb another trainer before challenging him to a battle.
It was a different kind of trainer. A woman, with a lot of energy and a great deal of enthusiasm. She seemed determined to win, and fought with incredible determination. Her Pokémon was also different. It was a Leafeon, which was a pretty Pokémon, I must say.
Then, the grunt... sent Typhlosion to battle! I had to record this shit. I had to.
I watched the battle from afar, and I felt sick. I had seen what Typhlosion would do to Leafeon, and I couldn't watch anymore. However, I forced myself to. I needed to see what else he would do to her.
Leafeon was clearly scared, but she tried her best to keep up, fighting with all she had.
He started throwing fireballs at her, but she dodged them! However, Leafeon was getting tired, and she was having trouble breathing. Then, Typhlosion ran to her, and delivered a brutal punch to her face.
She collapsed from the blow, bleeding badly.
The grunt laughed. "That will help you learn how to be a good trainer! Loser!"
And then, he ordered Typhlosion to "Throw the trash".
I could only imagine what he meant. Was ordering Typhlosion to rip off Leafeon's body?
Damnit.
I had to capture it all.
After the man finished laughing, Typhlosion, without a word, grabbed the unconscious Leafeon, and literally threw her in a trash can. Then, the grunt left, with Typhlosion and Charizard following behind.
"SHIT!" I screamed as soon as I exited through another gate. "What the hell?"
I walked towards the trash can, and saw as the trainer opened it. There was Leafeon, lying on the ground, barely alive. Blood was everywhere.
I recorded the dramatic scene, as tears streamed down my cheeks. I felt so sorry for them.
Once I was finished, I returned to the place Typhlosion and the other grunts rested for the night, only to see they were already departing from Steelblock. Even though it was only a day, I wondered how many Pokémon those idiots had killed today.
Tomorrow, I would also return home, ready to show Typhlosion's actions right in his face. I knew it was something off with him since I met him, and this is the proof I needed. He better have a REALLY good excuse to make me change my mind.
—
I woke up the next morning, and immediately headed to the Pokémon center to count the casualties.
The sight there was horrifying. Dozens of Pokémon lay dead or dying, and a bunch of them had been injured beyond fainting. In fact, I can't say that any of them were saveable at all.
One I found out there was no sign of Team Blaze grunts anywhere, I started recording again. I was sure this would be the most heartbreaking recording.
I stepped inside the room, and was greeted by the sight of several trainers crying over the loss of their Pokémon. One even said something that broke my heart.
"My Pidgeot died because of those ******s."
Sigh. I know that losing a friend is never easy, but... it hurts... a lot.
As I wiped a tear, I finished recording, and soon, I took the bus back home. I knew I had booked all the week, but, after what had happened, I only felt like returning home, and sleeping.
I hoped that the following days would finally bring the answers I was looking for.
—
The following days passed without any incidents, and I was relieved that I hadn't seen anyone from Team Blaze again.
But, I couldn't rest. I kept thinking about what Typhlosion did, and how I would show him everything I had recorded when I finally saw him.
I was really starting to hate him to the point that the thought of his death in any way would make me feel warm and happy.
Today, the day unfolded like the previous days. I had come back from the university, studied, and now, I was streaming a good gameplay session of Pokémon in Discordial when a message popped up from P-mail.
P-mail? Who still uses that in 2025?
I clicked on it and read:
"hi oliver, i think ull read tis when u do ur nerd things. ill b waitin' 4 u 2 meet me tomorrow. typh."
Great. Just what I wanted. I would prepare myself to drive the situation to the point I could ask him for an explanation.
I logged off, and prepared myself for the meeting tomorrow.
—
Dawn broke, and I got up. I felt nervous about the upcoming meeting. I couldn't wait to see what Typhlosion would say, and what I'd do afterwards.
However, he MUST pay for what he did anyway. So, before I received him in my house, I went to the nearest commissary.
After showing the officers the videos, and convinced them that Typhlosion would be coming to my home today, I was given permission to take a Pokémon to reduce him.
Nothing was going to stop me from doing this. I chose, in my opinion, the Pokémon better suited to do what I had to do, and prepared the plan with it.
I have to admit, I was a little bit worried about everything, but I was going to get him. He won't see this coming.
After I ate, I came out and waited in front of the door for Typhlosion to arrive. The truth would be unveiled today. This time, I knew it.
Finally, after an hour-long wait, Typhlosion appeared. The moment I saw him, something told me I was maybe committing a serious mistake. But the accumulated hatred inside me made me wash out that thought quickly. This was going to be fun.
I walked towards him, and greeted him, as if nothing happened. "Hi Typhlosion," I said with a smile.
"Hey Oliver," he replied. We exchanged pleasantries, and then, I motioned him to enter my house. As he entered, he looked around, and then, he sat down on my couch.
"So, why did you want to see me?" I asked.
"It has been a lot since I last talked to you, and said, why don't I call the nerd with glasses again? And that's it."
"Oh yeah? Well, let's start talking then! I wanted to talk to you too! What did you do these days?" I asked, as I wanted him to speak first.
"Well, I've been training," he answered.
"Training? Interesting. What did you do in your training session?"
He shrugged. "Normal stuff. I practiced some of my moves, you know." It seemed that he was avoiding talking about Team Blaze.
"And tell me Typhlosion. Do you train alone, or in a group?" I asked.
"Alone, for the most part. But, sometimes, I go with friends."
Friends? So, those killers were not only a group that abducted him, but also his FRIENDS?! That was just as sickening as everything else he had done.
"Why do you train with friends? You are too strong to need help, right?" I asked.
"They're my friends, and I help them to..." And he went silent.
"Typhlosion, what do you help your friends do?" I asked.
"That's none of your business."
"Oh really? And why is that exactly?"
He remained quiet for a while, and then, sighed.
"Because I'm not supposed to tell you, okay?"
Ha! Gotcha! It was time to pass to the last part of the plan. He might rip me apart in one punch, but, mentally, I could beat him easily! It took me less than a minute to get him to a point where he couldn't process a valid answer.
"What about watching a movie?" I tried saying in a jokey manner, trying to fakely ease up the ambience. However, I couldn't lighten my tone, and it sounded like a stern statement instead.
"I don't know..." He said a bit confused.
"I have a great screen at my room! Come and see!" At least, now I did a bit better.
"Okay, if you say so" He replied, still a bit unsure about the whole thing.
"Let's go!" I said, getting up.
At the same time, I was planning what I would do once we reached my room. Up in my room, the pen with every video I recorded was ready to be played. To be honest, I wasn't sure if I should play the recordings and give him a chance to explain himself.
But… Nah, he better explain himself to the judge.
I opened the door, and we walked upstairs. When we arrived in my room, I smiled, and left the door open.
"So, what kind of movies do you like?" I asked.
"Well, I don't watch many films. I prefer action ones."
"Oh yeah?" I asked.
"Yeah, they're more interesting."
"Well, I have the ideal movie for you!" I said, and plugged the pen. Soon, the first video started playing.
"What is this movie about?" Typhlosion asked.
"It's called 'Personal findings and revelations'. Shut up and see." I said, as I started to feel more and more enraged.
"What is it?" He asked, intrigued by the title.
I paused the video and showed him.
"Do you like unfair battles? Then it's your movie!" I said quickly, not giving a chance for Typhlosion to talk.
He looked at the screen, and then, decided to shut up and watch it.
The first video was a recording at night from the city's principal locations, so the first minutes weren't really relevant, but were good to keep Typhlosion thinking about what it could be all about.
When the first video ended, the second started immediately, showing the Charizard vs Rattata battle, so Typhlosion was found suddenly watching the bloody battle. Evidently, he knew everything that happened there, and suddenly snapped.
"OLIVER, WHAT THE FUCK IS-!"
"NOW!" I screamed, and, a mere fraction of second later, the Arbok who was hiding under a blanket the whole time quickly lashed out and delivered an accurate venomous bite right on his artery.
"AAAAHHHHH!" Typhlosion screamed in pain, as he didn't expect such a swift and brutal move.
Then, the door sprung open!
"POLICE! GET YOUR HANDS UP NOW!"
Typhlosion then looked at me with a wide-open look. Of course, he wasn't expecting anything like that.
"What?" Was all he managed to say.
"You are under arrest!" one of the officers shouted.
Typhlosion felt like opposing resistance, but, as the attack he received was perfectly executed, the envenomation started to pay its toll on him, paralyzing his body. He immediately fell to the ground unable to move.
"Don't resist!" The officer ordered, as he handcuffed Typhlosion.
And soon, they took Typhlosion out of my house and into the police car. I couldn't help but worry a bit about him, as he started to cough up blood as the venom reached his lungs. Everyone left the place, and as soon as everything started, it ended.
Then, it was just me and my opposing feelings of guilt and anger.
I felt like I was responsible for what happened to him, but, on the other hand, I also felt upset about what had Typhlosion done. At least, I avenged the humiliated Leafeon, which made me feel a little bit better.
Phew, what a day! I thought, as I cleaned the mess and prepared to go to bed. Even though I wanted to think that now he would get what he deserves, justice would prevail, I felt deep down that things might not be exactly as I thought.
