Megan walked into the hospital carrying her bag.

"Megan," Teddy called.

"Teddy," Megan beamed running to her friend.

"Good to see you," Teddy smiled, returning Megan's hug, "how was the flight?"

"Way too long but I'm here," Megan smiled.

"I'm done for the day," Teddy said, "let's head home."

Teddy took her keys from her pocket.

"Go home change then go for dinner," Teddy suggested, "do you need time to shower or anything?"

"I'm okay," Megan replied.

"I could use a shower I had a couple infectious cases today. I need a shower. I feel gross," Teddy said, "how's Riggs? Faroke?"

"They're good excited for their guys week," Megan laughed, "no mean old mom."

"Mean old mom," Teddy asked.

"Nathan is mr good times with Faroke," Megan said, "video games, junk food, burgers, no bed time."

"I can see Riggs being the cool dad," Teddy said, wondering which side of Owen would come out with their baby.

"You like being a mom," Teddy asked.

"I do," Megan smiled, "would you ever?"

"I want to," Teddy said, "with Owen. I don't know if I could do it alone. Owen and I, we could do it together."

"Things with my brother," Megan said, "you saw him a few weeks ago."

"We're really good," Teddy smiled, "he's good."

"Just good," Megan asked.

"You're his sister," Teddy laughed, "I'll keep some things to myself."

"You and Owen would really," Megan asked.

"If it worked out," Teddy said, "I would."

"You're older than me though, " Megan said.

"I'm a year older than Owen," Teddy said, "I'm 41 in November. He's 40 in a couple weeks and he's here for his birthday."

"Mom doesn't like that," Megan said.

"We're doing it together," Teddy smiled.

"Yours," Megan asked.

"He's going to a conference in Boston ," Teddy smiled,

"I'm speaking."

"So much travel for mr homebody," Megan laughed.

"When we're on different continents we have to," Teddy said, "it's something we have to work out."

"Where does he stay," Megan asked.

"My room," Teddy answered, "then we use the guest room at his house. I refuse to sleep in the same bed as his ex wife. I don't care that it's all new bedding."

"It's a nice house," Megan said.

"It's not my style but he likes it," Teddy said, "too much Amelia for my liking."

"Would you move there," Megan asked.

"Maybe," Teddy smiled, "I would go to Seattle but not that house permanently. He bought that with Amelia in mind. It's in his name and her name was never on it. But I won't live there. It feels like her house."

"I never stayed with Nathan in his apartment because he had Grey there," Megan said, "he suggested moving there. But it was one bedroom plus den."

"Nowhere for Faroke," Teddy said.

"I wanted a fresh start with our place," Megan said, "Teddy you can stay with Owen. I saw Amelia twice the whole time I was in Seattle and I lived in that guest room for a couple months. My son slept on the fold out couch in the office. Amelia came twice to get a text book and shoes."

"I never liked her but I couldn't tell him," Teddy said, "I never did when I knew Beth wasn't right or Christina would never give him what he wanted or Amelia."

"Will you," Megan asked, "he wants a family, a wife and kids. He wants that so badly."

"I want that two," Teddy said, "husband, kids, a family we share. Christmas with you and your mom. Spoiling Faroke as the cool aunt."

Teddy parked the car and lead the way to her apartment, "welcome home. I have a spare key for you. Guest room is through that door. Make yourself comfortable. I need a couple minutes. Make yourself comfortable ."

"What are you going to do," Megan asked.

"I need to shower," Teddy said, "half an hour then we'll order dinner and catch up."

"I should facetime Nathan and Faroke make sure they haven't burned my house down," Megan smiled.

Teddy texted Owen ,"she's asking me about kids!"

Owen, "no. did you?"

Teddy, "I said we would and that I want kids. We agreed to wait till viability to tell anyone other than your mom."

Owen, "you doing okay?"

Teddy, "tired and just want to put leggings on but leggings and tshirts it's starting to get noticeable. I'm looking a little rounder."

Owen, "you said you weren't showing yet."

Teddy, "not really. My pants are just getting snug. I prefer leggings at home. It's okay I'll hide it from Megan."

Owen, 'if you want to tell her."

Teddy, "no like we agreed."

Owen, "you still want to quit?"

Teddy, "I want to be with you. I don't want to be alone."

Owen, "you have Megan for a few days. I know it's my sister but enjoy it. And Teddy if you want to tell her it's okay."

Teddy, "I'm waiting for you."

Owen, "you doing okay today?"

Teddy, "less nauseous then I've been but still tired. Not as bad though. I really need a proper Owen hug."

Owen, "a few days love. Then I'll hold you all you want and I want to feel where our little pumpkin is."

Teddy, "so you'll like me relaxing in leggings and a tank top?"

Owen, "it's one of my favorite looks on you."

Teddy, "you can see the start of a bump in that. So not doing it with Megan here."

Owen, "it's your decision. I'm needed in OR 5. Talk to you later. I love you."

Teddy, "love you two. Baby loves you and we miss you."

Owen, "remind them that daddy loves them. I miss you."

Teddy, "I will go be awesome."

Teddy quickly showered and checked that her top didn't give away any hints. She noticed and she thought Owen might but Megan likely wouldn't.

"Ready for dinner," Teddy asked.

"Starving," Megan agreed.

"I was thinking of one of my favourite restaurants, my treat," Teddy suggested.

"It is a work trip," Megan said.

"I know what they give you," Teddy smiled, "but you're also family. It was my idea for you to stay. I thought with teaching from your experience you might want a friendly face or a familiar person."

After dinner they walked back to Teddy's and she made tea for them.

"Tea," Megan asked.

"I like a cup before bed," Teddy smiled, "I have a few types to choose from and hot cocoa mix. Owen likes the cocoa."

"He likes chocolate," Megan said.

"He does," Teddy smiled.

"I'll look at the flavours," Megan said.

"Mint, chamomile, ginger, apple cinnamon, regular and decaf orange pekoe and Earl grey, "Teddy listed.

"I haven't seen you have a single cup of coffee," Megan said, "you've been addicted as long as I've known you."

"I'm cutting back," Teddy said.

"Why," Megan asked.

"I was getting headaches almost migraine bad," Teddy said, "I'm seeing if limiting caffeine helps."

She wasn't lying, she had been getting headaches since Owen's visit, but she knew why. She had had one the day before and had gone home from work early and laid down in her dark room.

"Teddy something is going on," Megan said, "nothing to drink with dinner, watching caffeine."

"Megan I'm okay," Teddy said.

"Are you having health problems," Megan asked, "you don't look like you."

"I'm fine," Teddy assured, "I've had a lot on my plate and with Owen and I 9 hours apart it's hard. I'm not sleeping like I should."

"Teddy it's more than that," Megan said, "the not drinking and no caffeine if I didn't know you better I might think you were pregnant. But you and Owen only just started dating. You're both doctors and you already told me you wouldn't alone."

Teddy stayed facing the stove, Megan couldn't see her face. She nodded but Megan didn't seem to see the gesture.

"But it's not possible so I'm going to worry you're sick," Megan said.

"I'm fine just overworked," Teddy assured, "we're short staffed. I don't have a chief of surgery."

"Owen," Megan said, "he was chief in Seattle."

"Yes and he fired me," Teddy snapped.

"He fired you," Megan yelled, "you? Why?"

"So I would take this job," Teddy said, "I wasn't going to. I had just lost Henry, Owen was the only person who would have noticed if I had died with Henry. I was severely depressed, I was not in a good place for a long time. This was the best thing for me, to come here, to have a new challenge. But he wasn't in a good place, his relationship with Christina was falling apart. I know he cheated on her but I understand why. He was in so much pain he reacted, she had aborted their baby."

"She did what," Megan yelled, "why would she? How could she?"

"She never wanted to be a parent," Teddy answered, "it didn't matter that he did. She didn't want to. Still doesn't."

"You've seen her," Megan asked.

"Just before he came to see me," Teddy replied, "we were at the same cardio conference. She's still my student and to spend a few hours with her is okay. It was a familiar face."

"You sure you're okay," Megan asked again.

"I'm fine," Teddy assured, "how Jet lagged are you?"

"I think I have a cup of tea in me then bed," Megan agreed.

"Come pick then the kettle is ready," Teddy said.

They made their tea and curled up on the couch.

"So Riggs," Teddy asked trying to get Megan's attention off her.

"He's good," Megan smiled, "some adjustments."

"Ten years," Teddy said.

"That but actually living together," Megan answered, "before when we could get a night together it was exciting and special."

"When we shared a room you sexiled me," Teddy snapped

"More than once," Megan agreed, "what did you do?"

"I was dating Josh Kandler then," Teddy said, "he was happy to see me in an on call room. Riggs things are good?"

"It was different," Megan said, "getting used to someone touching me again. Even things like hugs or kisses. For ten years no one hugged me."

"Faroke," Teddy said.

"My son is different," Megan said, "a man. Where he can wrap your whole body in his arms. Make you feel safe and secure there like nothing can get you. Falling asleep hearing his heart beat knowing both of your hearts are still beating he's really there."

"The pillow thing is great," Teddy said, "the feeling safe and cared for."

"When you would date you were always the one caring for him," Megan said, "you would hold it all together for your boyfriend then break down to Owen."

"He's always been my safe person," Teddy said, "I wish we weren't doing long distance but it is what it is right now. We'll figure it out. How did you know you wanted to be Faroke's mom? To adopt him?"

"You'd adopt," Megan asked.

"My age it might be a good choice," Teddy said, "but how did you know?"

"He was there," Megan said, "he was a little boy who was so scared and so alone and needed some one to love him. At first I was just looking out for him then he decided I'm his mom. He came to me for everything, he ran to me. He would come find me when he was scared or tired or sick and I would hold him and rock him. I held him and cared for him when he was sick with TB or an ear infection. I taught him his first words in English, sang him to sleep and he became my son. It's the most amazing thing. I love Nate but the way I feel about Faroke is something different. It's the most powerful thing I've ever felt. He is my son, I will fight for him forever. He is mine."

"How is Riggs with it," Teddy asked.

"He's good," Megan said, "more a buddy or a mentor than a dad but I think it'll come."

"It's been six months," Teddy guessed.

"Yes," Megan said, "I think me being away this week might be okay for them."

"Force Riggs to parent," Teddy asked.

"I've had pictures sent of the biggest burgers I've ever seen," Megan laughed, "and Nate took him McDonalds for lunch at school."

"No," Teddy groaned.

"Yep," Megan said, "Faroke loves fast food and food trucks but he needs to eat real food and veggies."

"Is he a good eater," Teddy asked.

"He likes familiar things," Megan said, "middle eastern food, he really likes greek, tacos are good, burgers, pizza. Not a huge pasta fan."

"He hasn't had his uncle's lasagne," Teddy said.

"He has," Megan replied, "he doesn't love cheese. He gets his burgers and tacos with out cheese."

"Who doesn't like cheese," Teddy asked, "are you sure he's your kid?"

"He likes feta," Megan said, "but things like swiss and cheddar are new to him. Small steps, mild flavours."

"How's he adjusting to school," Teddy asked.

"Loves learning, he likes recess, lunch and gym," Megan said, "he's on track for math he really struggles to read and write. He's getting English Language Support daily from a specialist. He really likes the ELL teacher. Miss Younger is great with him, good with the trauma piece."

"Is he doing better," Teddy asked.

"I wouldn't have come if he wasn't," Megan assured, " he's okay as long as there's no loud banging sounds and no violent movies or video games."

"I don't like violent movies," Teddy agreed, "we've seen enough in our lives. I don't need to watch it happen on TV. I don't know how Owen can watch WWI and WWII documentaries and movies. It's a trigger for me."

"Does he know," Megan asked.

"He does," Teddy said, "he will watch them on his own but not when I can see or hear them. We know each other's triggers. I'm pretty good now. I got the help and did the work."

"It's a lot of work," Megan said.

"It is," Teddy agreed, "you doing okay?"

"I am," Megan said, "I go like 5 days a week between PTSD, couples, talk and another speaclist but it helps."

"If it helps," Teddy said.

"It is," Megan said, "I am going to do the work and I am going to be happy. I want to be as happy as possible with my family. That's what matters to me my family. Faroke, Nate, Mom, Owen, You."

"My little sister," Teddy teased.

"You always wanted one," Megan smiled.

"You're the closest I've ever had," Teddy said, "when I found out you were alive, that it was really you I cried."

"You had tears when you came in," Megan said.

"But once I talked to you, hugged you and tried to call Owen I went to my office and cried," Teddy said, "happy tears. You were alive and with it and you. You survived. It's a miracle."

"It is," Megan agreed, "seeing you in that room when I heard Major Altman was coming I knew I would be okay. Knowing you were there I felt safe for the first time in 10 years."

"You were on so much morphine," Teddy said.

"But I knew your voice," Megan said, "I was high and out of it but I knew it was you and you hugged me and held my hand. You were there and talking to me telling me I would be okay. You said you loved me."

"I do," Teddy said, "you're family. Can I please be Auntie Teddy to Faroke? I will be the best and the coolest aunt."

"Play soccer with him and he'll love you forever," Megan smiled.

"Done," Teddy yawned.

"Go to bed," Megan said.

"Are you tired," Teddy asked.

"I'm ready to sleep and 5:30 is early," Megan said.

"5:30," Teddy asked.

"Don't you still run early," Megan asked.

"6:30," Teddy said, "and it's a short run day. Do your thing. Be comfortable here, relax, treat it like home."

"Do you want me to run with you," Megan asked.

"Up to you," Teddy said.

"Do you care if I sleep in," Megan asked.

"Do what you need to," Teddy assured, "do you have everything you need?"

"I do," Megan assured, "I'll see you in the morning."

"Good night," Teddy said hugging Megan.

"Night," Megan agreed returning the hug.

Laying in her bed Megan texted Owen, "what's going on with your girlfriend? She's not drinking wine or coffee. Tired and doing short runs."

Owen, "I told you she's just worn out and doing too much."

Megan, "she's not okay. Have you actually seen her?"

Owen, "a month ago."

Megan, "I want to drag her to a doctor she's not well."

Owen, "leave her she's fine. We've talked. She's okay. I appreciate your concern."

Megan, "her place is gorgeous."

Owen, "it is. Her places always are."

Megan, "cozy."

Owen, "it feels like home. I'm there in 10 days."

Megan, "move there for her."

Owen, "if I hadn't just signed a three year contract 3 months before they found you."

Megan, "military route they have to let you go with no penalty."

Owen, "Teddy and I are discussing a few ideas but it's between us. Stay out of it Megan."

Megan, "I'll look out for her. She's not 100%."

Owen, "thank you."

Megan, "your welcome. Now figure your shit out for your girlfriend."

Owen, "her and I are working on it."

Owen texted Teddy, "she's on to us. She knows you're not 100%."

Teddy, "she flat out used the word pregnant. Then said it couldn't be possible. I let her rant herself out."

Owen, "did you keep a straight face."

Teddy, "I was making tea so I stayed facing the wall."

Owen, "you don't have a poker face."

Teddy, "I know but it worked. I'm going to bed. I love you, baby loves you and we miss you."

Owen, "I love you."
