Chapter 36. A Thousand Times Yes

Summer had fallen on Malfoy Manor, though you could hardly tell, it was as if the manor was cursed to be constantly covered with thick grey cloud. Lucius resided in the drawing room as usual, one of the few places in the manor he could retreat to without the Dark Lord or Bellatrix disturbing his peace. It was a place he could unwind, which more often than not meant drinking a copious amount of alcohol and passing out blind drunk in his arm chair.

"Why are you here, Severus? Don't you know when you're not wanted?" Lucius sneered from his fireside seat. As usual a glass was in his hand, however he had run out of firewhiskey, so had to make do with a bottle of red. He shot daggers at the ex-potions master that stood in the doorway, the two hadn't talked since Lucius had cruelly tortured the man in the room just down the stairs.

"I come with news… about your son," Severus spoke darkly. Lucius turned towards him, his eyes full of welcome surprise, his brows furrowed.

"He's done it? Has he completed his task?" Lucius whispered with excitement, however his mood deflated when he saw the shake of Severus' head.

"No," Snape said simply, his voice devoid of emotion. "He was attacked,"

Lucius jumped to his feet, dropping the wine to the floor.

"Is he okay?" Lucius breathed shakily. "Is he alive?"

"Yes, I managed to counteract the spell, heal his wounds, he's in the hospital wing, but fine," Severus drawled, he stepped into the drawing room and closed the door securely behind him. "It was the Potter boy,"

"That filth laid hands on my son, on my boy?" Lucius sneered, rubbing his hands over his forehead and smoothing down his unwashed hair. He really was a sight for sorry eyes. He was a ghost of his former self, his clothes were dishevelled, he looked as if he hadn't slept in weeks, he hadn't shaved, stubble poking through his pale skin. For a man who was so proud of his image and breed, he had sure fallen far. It saddened Severus to see his friend in this state.

"It's been dealt with… Draco is fine, and still more than prepared to go through with the plan this coming Monday…" Severus reassured him.

"Do you have any other news… from Hogwarts?" Lucius asked, casting his eye to the ground.

"Draco told me he met Everly,"

"He did? He never told me that, what did he say?" Lucius asked, his voice but a whisper.

"He said he was surprised how remarkably like him she looks, when he was a baby," Severus told him after pondering upon his conversation with the boy.

"She does look so much like him when he was an infant, but she has her mother's nose, and her hair," Lucius smiled as he remembered holding her as if it was yesterday. He remembered her weight in his arms exactly, the feel of her soft skin and hair.

"Everly has your eyes," Severus commented.

"I know," Lucius smiled, "Even by the light of the moon I could see them… I wish I could hold her now Severus, I miss them both dearly. Everly is six months, and I had not even six minutes with her,"

"Astrid fairs well, she is teaching again," Snape told Lucius, he knew he shouldn't have mentioned her name, for Lucius' blood instantly boiled. The blonde-haired man turned away from Severus and looked towards the fire, his fists clenched.

"You'd know exactly how she fairs, wouldn't you Severus?" Lucius spat, "Oh yes I've seen what you've been up to in my absence, trying to lay your grimy hands on her,"

"A regrettable moment Lucius, one I shall not repeat and I am whole heartedly apologetic for,"

"A regrettable moment… born of what? Lust for my beloved?" Lucius narrowed his blue eyes on the man before him, looking deep into the soul of the professor he saw it there, only a flicker, but he saw it. "No, not lust… love! You love her," Lucius whispered darkly, his jaw growing tighter.

"She is a friend, nothing more," Severus exhaled, closing his eyes for a moment.

"Because she doesn't allow you to be more!" Lucius sneered, a small chuckle playing on his words. "Did her rejection hurt Severus?" Lucius smirked in the golden glow of the fire. Severus's lip curled up at the cruel remark.

"Strange, how you choose to ridicule me, scorn me, when I am the only one here who has access to her…" He spoke darkly, a mild threat behind his words, "I could ruin her if I wanted to Lucius, it is my respect for you… as a friend, that keeps me from claiming her for myself, I suggest you remember that next time you address me,"

Of-course Severus didn't mean it, he would never force her against her will, he was many things, but not that. Lucius however, didn't need to be partial to that information, to him, the threat was very real.

"If you lay one slimy hand on her, I'll kill you Severus," Lucius said menacingly, he stood up straight, tried to make himself as imposing as the taller professor. Severus just smirked at the display.

"Look at you Lucius… you're pathetic… you've fallen so far off your pedestal and you don't even see it," Severus spat, "and yet you think I'm still afraid of you? I've replaced you in the Dark Lords graces, and I can replace you in life too. Do you really think Astrid will still love you when she sees you like this? A drunkard, so far gone he can't even bathe, she would be ashamed of you,"

Severus' words hit Lucius hard, so hard he had to sit down as the other man left the room with the swoosh of a cape and slam of a door. Picking up the bottle of wine from his side table he hurled at the fire with a yell, causing a small fiery outburst as the flames ate up the alcohol just like Severus' words ate at him.

30th June 1997

After months of playing catch up with her students work (not that Professor Binns' teaching was inadequate just that it…. Yes, it was actually quite inadequate) they had finally sat their O.W.L.S and N.E.W.T.S, with the last of the exams being that very day, a Monday. After dinner Astrid spent some time with her daughter, now over ten months old the child was not only crawling, but standing on her own two feet, she used the furniture around Astrid's chambers to cruise around on her legs. Everly had been keeping Astrid very busy over the last few weeks, getting into everything she shouldn't. Her hair was a little longer now, just enough to put into two tiny pigtails on either side of her head.

Eventually Everly drifted off to sleep in Astrid's arms by the fire, and being the pro she was now, she moved her to the cot without disturbing her slumber.

"Finally," Astrid breathed, running a hand over her scalp and through her blonde waves, she looked at the clock above her desk, 9:46pm. The sun had just set on the castle, a warm glow only slightly visible upon the horizon as the sunlight disappeared over lush green hills. What looked like a dark grey cloud lumbered in the other direction, making it's way towards Hogwarts.

Dumbledore had told Astrid to come for a drink in his office when exams were over, she wondered if he was still up for it, it had been a hard week, as a teacher and a mother, and Astrid felt she needed a drink as a reward. Pulling out her muggle baby listening devices, she believed they were called baby monitors, she clipped one to the side of the cot, and the other to the raffia waist belt of the white cotton summer dress she wore. She felt naughty, leaving her child behind in an empty chamber, but Everly was so good, she always slept through, and with the added comfort of a listening device, she was confident she'd be fine by herself for forty-five minutes. Alas it was misplaced confidence, and would end up being one of her biggest mistakes.

When she reached Albus' office she gave the gargoyle the password and she was let in, there was a glow from the fire, the lights were on. But she couldn't see the professor anywhere…

"Headmaster?" She called out, stepping into the office.

"He's not here," The instantly recognisable drawl of Severus Snape announced as he appeared at the top of the stairs. He descended them gracefully to meet Astrid by the fire.

"Oh," she said simply, slightly disappointed, "Where has he gone?"

"Out, I don't tend to keep tabs on our headmaster, he is a brilliant wizard, not a child Astrid," Severus quipped emotionlessly.

"Of course… what are you doing here then Severus, if Albus has gone for the night?" Astrid asked curiously.

"Taking care of some… matters, don't worry yourself Professor Moody, now… don't you have an infant to see to?" Severus raised a brow as he wondered who was watching over the little person.

"She's sleeping, I can hear her snores now and again through this," Astrid pointed to the little white muggle device clipped to her belt, "It's noise activated, very clever really,"

"Right, well, still I think you should head back to your chambers and rest, you've a long week coaching your dunderheads to pass their exams," Severus sighed.

"Tell me about it, it's been stressful to say the least… you don't fancy a drink do you Severus? Just a friendly glass of wine?" She asked with a warm smile. He wanted so badly to say yes, if only she'd asked on any other night before now and he would have.

"No, sadly I can't tonight," Severus rejected her offer blankly.

"Right, maybe some other time then," Astrid sighed as she forced a smile "well, good night then I guess."

Severus sighed with relief as Astrid left the office, and presumably headed back to her chambers. He glanced at the gold clock on one of Albus' many shelves. 9:58pm. He'd best get a move on.

Astrid meant to head straight to her chambers, but was distracted by the noise of some students still messing around in one of the castles courtyards. Astrid checked her watch as she approached the group.

"It's 9:58, shouldn't you all start heading to your houses? I'd hate a prefect, or worse, Professor Snape, to catch you guys out passed curfew." She raised a brow at them. They all nodded and agreed, scattering in the various directions of their house common rooms. There Astrid looked up at the sky, thunderous dark clouds had drawn in, threatening to rain a storm down on Hogwarts castle. The storm seemed strange… almost artificial, magical even. As she stared up at murky vortex above her a clap of thunder tore through the air, echoing over the hills. And in that moment a pale hand wrapped around Astrid's mouth, another around her waist, silencing her scream as she was dragged under the cover of an archway in the courtyards wall.

She was spun around and pushed hard up against the stone wall; her fearful eyes softened when she saw the face of Lucius Malfoy staring back at her. He released his hand from her mouth, opting to run it over her freckled cheek, pushing her soft blonde waves behind her ear, he held her there staring into her blue eyes.

Astrid looked him over, he looked worse than ever, he looked as if he'd served ten years in Azkaban, the little colour he had in his face was gone, heavy bags were under his eyes, his hair lacked its usual lustre and shine. His all-black suit and shirt, though expensive looking, looked somewhat dishevelled. Astrid reached up to his face, running her hand along his stubbled chin.

"How are you here?" She asked in a whisper.

"Does it matter?" He breathed, leaning in and planting a rough deep kiss on her plump pout, she melted into him, allowing his tongue entry to her mouth she deepened the kiss. Lucius pulled away hesitantly, pressing his forehead against hers.

"Where is Everly?" he asked suddenly, looking around as if the infant would be in the courtyard somewhere.

"Sleeping, don't worry, I can hear her if she wakes, but… she's pretty good at sleeping through now a days," Astrid smiled as initiated the second kiss, leaning into him she grasped his suit with both hands and pulled herself up onto her tippy toes. He growled against her as she pressed her body against his. His hand played with the hem of her dress, lifting it to reveal her smooth toned legs. He ran his hands over them, remembering their beautiful feel against his fingertips. The kiss deepened and Lucius gripped the back of Astrid's thigh, pulling it up he wrapped it around his hip, the hem of her dress bunched up at the top of her thigh, where the a slither of her lemon yellow lace panties was visible.

"Does this remind you," he whispered, breaking off the kiss to murmur in her ear, "Of that night at the Yule Ball?" His rough voice sent shivers down her spine.

"Yes," She smirked, recapturing his lips in a sweet little kiss. "The night Everly was conceived." She reminded him. He smirked and kissed her hard again, his fingers playing with the lace edge of her panties. The tickle his fingertips gave made her ache at the core, it had been so long since she was last touched by him, since she last had him. She yearned for him.

"Do you want to make another baby?" He whispered against her lips.

"Right here?" She asked, glancing around the empty courtyard, their spot was out of sight from the courtyard entrance, and they would surely hear anyone who happened to stumble by.

"Right here," His rough whisper demanded.

"Alright, daddy," Astrid teased, kissing him roughly. Lucius needed no other cue; his fingers slipped below the lace and ran along her wetness, earning a small whimper of pleasure from the girl.

"So needy… you've missed me," He smirked against her lips, she nodded, closing her eyes blissfully as he played with her. Her cheeks burned hot as he worked at her core, making her whimper and squirm beneath his hold. The stone wall against her back suddenly felt very cold against her fiery skin.

Astrid reached for his belt weakly, fumbling with the buckle until it fell open. Pleasure built in between her legs as he slipped a finger inside her, and then two, stretching her out. She gasped against his lips as he rhythmically beckoned her with his fingers. Wanting to hear her moans he kissed from her lips along her jawline until they found their way to her neck, where he nibbled at the soft skin.

Her hands had managed to undo his trousers now, and she reached into his black boxer shorts, grasping his hard shaft. Lucius moaned into her neck as she moved her hand up and down him, jerking his hard member. Her hands grew weaker and her movements more erratic as he drove her closer to climax. Pumping in and out of her whilst massaging her bean with his thumb she was nearly there…

"Lucius," She moaned in his ear as he kissed his way back up her neck to her jaw line. "L-Lucius…I-I I'm gonna…" Astrid couldn't finish her sentence, for she had already hit her peak with a large moan, her walls spasmed around his fingers, her legs shaking. She released his cock and gripped to his shirt for dear life as she rode the waves of her orgasm. Lucius gripped her against the wall to keep her from falling down.

"Good girl," He smirked kissing her pink swollen lips. "Now… is mummy ready for daddy?" He asked as she panted, her back against the wall. She swallowed hard, nodding enthusiastically. With that he gripped himself with one hand, angling himself at her waiting entrance, he moved her soaked panties to one side. His other arm wrapped around her lower back, steadying her.

Astrid gasped as he pushed himself inside, spreading her open he buried himself inside of her. Oh, how he'd missed the feel of her around him. Once he was sure she was ready he began to rock against her, rolling his hips she moaned into his neck as he buried his face in her sweet-smelling hair. She whimpered and squirmed under him as his thumb brushed over her clit, teasing her. His thrusts, once sensual now quickened to a hungry pace, mercilessly he pounded into her over and over again, intensifying the fire that grew within her. He too felt a building pleasure within him, though he wanted to go on for hours like this, he knew he didn't have it in him, not after so long without her.

"I-I-I th-think I'm g-going to c-cum," She whined against him.

"Don't you d-dare my sweet," he scolded, pulling her body against his roughly he plunged deeper into her, filling her entirely. She tried to hold onto the feeling inside her, but she couldn't hold it off any longer…

"Ohhh, L-Lucius, oh I'm c-cumming," She whimpered as she was sent over the edge and came undone around him. Her orgasm perfectly timed the large clap of thunder overhead. Her fluttering walls gripped Lucius, pushing him over his edge too, he groaned as he did one last powerful thrust before spilling his seed inside of her. The two simply stood frozen against each other, their chests rising and falling dramatically.

"Such a good girl," He breathed, kissing her forehead. "I've missed you so much my love,"

"I missed you too," She whispered, running her hands over his temples, down his hair down to his shoulders. Slowly, he pulled out of her, leaving an ache where he once was, some of his seed leaked from her wet opening, oozing down her leg. She wiped at it with her right hand, spreading it across her lightly tanned thigh.

"Thanks for that," She smirked as she wiped the sticky residue on her hand down the other leg.

"A present, from me to you," He smirked, kissing her once again as he blindly contained himself within his trousers, doing the buckle on his belt he took her hands in his.

"Speaking of presents… I have something for you,"

"What?" She asked with sparkling eyes, her brows furrowed slightly.

"I hoped to do this under better conditions… in a more romantic way… but since we always seem to be separated by something… now is as good a time as any," Lucius coughed, clearing his voice as he bent down on one knee. He noticed how significantly harder this was on his joints compared to the first time he did this so long ago.

"Miss Astrid Moody…" He breathed, reaching into his pocket, Astrid gulped, her mouth falling open, his words were slow, dragging out the moment and building her anticipation.

"Will you do me the honour…" one side of his lip curled up into a small yet cheeky smile as he pulled out a black velvet ring box. Astrid's breathing all together stopped at the sight. He paused dramatically as he looked up at the wide-eyed girl.

"Of becoming my wife?" He asked finally, opening the box to reveal a silver ring encrusted with one large green emerald. The piece was beautifully simple, not overdone, yet incredibly showy, a bit like her. Astrid nodded enthusiastically, the motion making her feel light headed, or perhaps that was the overwhelming adrenalin that coursed through her veins?

"Yes, a thousand times yes, of course," She breathed as he slid the ring on to her left-hand ring finger.
