The next morning Teddy sat with Megan at the kitchen table.
"Where's Owen," Megan asked.
"He went for a run," Teddy replied, "Nate still asleep?"
"Ya," Megan replied, "so is Faroke."
"We were up," Teddy said.
"Some one was up a few times over night," Megan commented.
"Me," Teddy replied, "I'm okay. I've never slept much."
"Baby," Megan asked.
"Hungry," Teddy laughed, "she wants bacon."
"If we make some we should wake up Faroke and Nate," Megan smiled.
"Your mom is sleeping," Teddy said.
"She's not," Megan replied, "I talked to her."
"Breakfast then Owen should be back," Teddy said.
"When did he leave," Megan asked.
"45 minutes ago " Teddy answered, "he said he'd be gone about an hour. If we start nowit'll be ready when he gets back."
"Do you want to," Megan asked.
"I can," Teddy replied.
"So last night you guys went to bed first," Megan hinted.
"Megan," Teddy gasped.
"You and my brother," Megan pressed.
"Your mom is across the hall from us," Teddy replied.
"Teddy," Megan said.
"Nope," Teddy said, "not talking about that. He's good, we're good."
"We know you have," Megan said.
"I don't ask about you and Nathan," Teddy said, "I'm going to start breakfast."
"Do you want to get dressed," Megan asked seeing Teddy still in her pajamas.
"I need to shower first but didn't want to wake anyone with the blow dryer," Teddy said.
"Riggs and Faroke sleep through anything," Megan assured.
"I'm comfortable right now, " Teddy said, "unless you want me to before your kid wakes up."
"Breakfast," Megan asked, "it's leggings and a shirt."
"Will your mom care," Teddy asked.
Evelyn walked into the kitchen and saw Megan and Teddy at the table with Teddys hands wrapped around a mug.
"Coffee mom," Megan offered.
"What are you girls having," Evelyn asked.
"I have mint tea," Teddy said.
"I made coffee it's fresh," Megan said.
Evelyn poured herself a cup of coffee and sat with Megan and Teddy.
"How are you this morning," Evelyn asked, "did you sleep okay?"
"I did," Megan said.
"I heard someone up and down a few times," Evelyn said.
"Just me," Teddy replied.
"Did you sleep okay," Evelyn asked, "are you comfortable ?"
"I did I just needed the washroom," Teddy said.
"What's the plan for the day," Evelyn asked.
"I have to call for an OB appointment but other than that it's a quiet day. I just want to be with Owen."
"Love you too Teddy," Megan teased.
"You two," Teddy said, "he had some houses we should look at. Just driving by."
"Can we come," Megan asked.
"Not today," Teddy said, "we will spend time with you while your here. Today I just need to be with Owen for a few hours."
"I understand," Megan said.
"Should we start breakfast," Evelyn asked, "are the men still asleep?"
"Owen is running," Teddy replied, "I want to run but I'm so slow and it hurts."
"Then walk,"'Evelyn suggested.
"Walk and look at lights tonight," Teddy suggested.
"You need a real walk," Megan said.
"I do but Owen and I will go," Teddy replied.
They started making breakfast together after Teddy arguing with Evelyn that she was fine and was happy to cook and help out. She knew Evelyn was just trying to baby her and show her love but Teddy found hovering frustrating and overbearing. Her mom had been kind and loving and supportive but had let her girls be independent.
Owen came in from his run and found them in the kitchen he wrapped his arms around Teddy from behind noticing that she was still in her soft pyjamas.
"Good morning," he smiled kissing Teddy's cheek.
"Morning," Teddy replied returning the kiss.
"Not getting dressed today," he asked.
"I'm just comfy," she responded.
"How's our peanut," he aksed.
"Calm for now," Teddy said, "she was really moving when I was having tea with Megan."
"Caffeine," he asked.
"Just the mint one I like," Teddy replied.
Teddy leaned back into Owen savouring his arms around her, his hands slid down to cradle her bump as he gently swayed them from side to side.
"You have a room," Megan joked.
"Megan," Evelyn scolded, "leave them."
Faroke ran into the kitchen, "Mom! I'm hungry!"
"Breakfast is coming my sweet boy," Megan smiled, "as soon as your aunt and uncle are dressed. Where's Nate?"
"Showering," Faroke answered.
"Fine I'll go get dressed," Teddy groaned, "but I'm really comfortable right now."
"Get dressed then it was starting to snow when I came in," Owen smiled.
"I'm going," Teddy said heading towards the stairs.
"That got her moving," Megan teased once Teddy was out of earshot.
"She loves snow," Owen replied.
"Wait the time you got the snow machine," Megan started.
"For her," Owen said, "she loves snow. I think after breakfast we'll go for a walk in it. It will make her happy."
"It will," Evelyn agreed, "take cocoa with you."
"There's a coffee shop a couple blocks away we'll stop and have one," he said, "I know my…"
"You almost said wife," Megan teased.
"No," Owen argued.
"You did," Megan said, "when are you proposing."
"It's only been a few months," Owen said.
"Two weeks after being apart 10 years," Nathan said joining the conversation.
"Do you have a ring," Megan asked.
"Mom's," Owen replied, "but not until we're in our own place and after our daughter is born. I don't want Teddy to think I'm just doing it for our daughter. "
'Are you," Evelyn asked.
"No," Owen said, "I love Teddy, it's always been Teddy."
"Then do it," Megan said, "stop sitting on your ass and do it already."
"House and baby first," Owen said, "I want it to be a day we can have champagne and celebrate, take her out for a really nice dinner."
"I get it," Nathan said, "hospital room wasn't my first choice."
"I got a ring and a transplant that day," Megan laughed.
"I'm going to go shower," Owen said, "how long till breakfast?"
"10,' Evelyn replied, "you can shower and shave."
"Teddy likes when I let it get a bit stubbly," Owen said.
"I don't like looking at it," Megan said.
"Not your decision," Owen replied.
Owen went up to get clean clothes startling Teddy when he opened the door.
"Sorry," Owen mumbelled turning red.
"I'm almost dressed," Teddy answered, pulling her shirt on, "nothing you haven't seen before."
"I should have knocked," Owen said.
"Don't worry about it," Teddy smiled.
She crossed the room and hugged him giving him a passionate kiss.
"You start that we won't get breakfast," he groaned.
"I want breakfast," she said, "crispy bacon and hashbrowns."
"Go eat," Owen said, "I'll shower and be down in a minute."
"I like being with you,' She said.
"I know you do," he agreed, "but breakfast and a snow walk with cocoa just us then I want to drive and look at a few of the addresses the relator sent and see if we want to actually look at any of them."
"A drive," she asked, "can we go for lunch?"
"We can," he agreed, "do you need to go anywhere or pick up anything?"
"Wrapping paper and ribbon," she replied, "I wouldn't mind picking up a few of my favourite snacks."
"We can," he agreed, "what do you want?"
"Just to have our snacks so I don't feel like we're always eating your mom's food," she said, "I hate imposing."
"Mom and I have been taking turns to do dinner and groceries," Owen said, "so you and I do two and she does one?"
"We could," Teddy agreed.
They had breakfast with everyone before heading out for their walk. They walked through the peaceful snow covered streets hand in hand.
