Voltron Hope or Despair
August 10, 2010 a.t.b it was the day known as the pacific war or the One Day War, the Holy Empire of Britannia declare war on Japan, the attack begun unnoticed as the Japanese were ill prepared for the invasion. The slaughter began as civilian were gun down merciless, building crumble in just seconds, field of flowers burn to the ground. Especially when the Kururugi Shrine was bomb by Britannia air forces, would have killed the former Royal siblings.
The Japanese Self Defense Force began their counter attack trying to repel the invasion. The battle was on going for half a day, the sound of gunfire and explosion fill the country with anger and despair. Until something incredulous happen.
You might call it luck for the Japanese but bad luck for Britannia's and the worst luck ever for the entire world. Aliens appear from the sky and descended their spaceship at the first act they invade Britannia capital, Pendragon. Then it appears out of nowhere the biggest ship that was half size of the capital along with hundreds of ships appearing around the world.

Then hundreds of fighters came out starting its assault. If that wasn't enough hundred thousand armies of purple suits droids wielding laser rifle fire on the civilian like the march of death troopers.
Britannia wasn't just the only country being invaded the entire world was invaded by aliens the E.U. , Euro Britannia and Chinese Federation and all neutral countries are invaded by aliens. As such the their soldiers and generals are called back to the homeland
The Emperor was frustrated that such action happen during the invasion that would destroyed his plans. He announces all knight of round to fight the alien invasion and use their secret weapon the knightmare frame. The knightmare was first to be used as an ace in the hole during Japan invasion but now they have to use it against the aliens menace.
Britannia army equips with knightmare frames and pilot by the knight of round was like singing of the Valkyrie as the Britannia army morale rises. But prove impossible when Emperor Zarkon lead the attack as just one Galra fend off an entire army by his own without breaking a sweat. During the attack he killed the knight of ten. Thinking he was easy picking.
Zarkon was the imbedded of terror as he swipe both armies no matter knightmares or humans they were like dust to him. As he conjure a weapon a mass particle canon and shoot. The blast incinerates everything where it fired leaving nothing but dust. He continue fire his weapon and destroying the capital. The citizen can only run in fear. The blast even destroyed half of the palace the royal family could even felt its rumble.
In order to stop this Bismark Waldenstein propose a one on one battle since king Zarkon killed the knight of ten and knight of four. The death knight of round has demoralized the Britannia army and Zarkon terror. Bismark hope to defeat Zarkon only using normal swords that he proposes.
Zarkon knew what the primitive was doing nonetheless he accepted knowing the outcome would be the same. The knight of one was confident as he plans to use his geass to kill Zarkon if he can kill Zarkon it might turn the tide of war. But in the end it was a one sight slaughter. No matter how the knight of one try Zarkon was able to know his every move Zarkon first cut off Bismark arm and the other as he force the primitive on the knees.
"How!" Bismark was baffle not even his Geass was able to defeat Zarkon.
"Do you mean to tell me that you can anticipate my move with your clairvoyance? Fool I live for ten thousand years and fought those who are more powerful and skill than you." Zarkon cut off knight of one head and display for all to see.
With the knight of one dead the morality plummeted like a sakuradite bomb gone off, the entire world witness it was inventible. The invasion continue as Zarkon walk towards the royal palace along with his troops marching and firing.
Charles zi Britania was waiting for the Galra to come as he has plan B using the experiment Geass Subject to fight this alien invasion especially Rolo's geass. While the remaining Royal family escape to anywhere that deem safe.
When Zarkon arrive he didn't care about Charles chit chat as he walks ready to cut off the Emperors head. It was then Rolo use his Geass stopping time perception ready to stab Zarkon. But it was investable Zarkon strength is like a mountain and Rolo is just a bug to be step on. He killed the assassin before he could even blink.
As Zarkon reached Charles face to face, it was then the Emperor decided to use his last trump card. As Zarkon was closer Charles activates his Geass to wipe Zarkon memories but it was futile as he grabs the Emperor head lifting him from his throne.
"You think your race is superior you are nothing more than insects I rule the universe and conquer for 10 thousand years your nothing more than a pebble." He stabs the Emperor with the blade that use by Bismark as an insult. The blade that wields by the knight of one was to serve and protect the Emperor for it to be used to stab Charles zi Britania was heresy of unknown measure.
Zarkon than display the Emperor head for all the world to see as despair and hopeless brought to the world especially the Britannia and Euro Britannia. The remaining aircraft that try to escape were shot down by the fighters only few manage to escape.
At the same time the only person who was watching the display of his pathetic father state was laughing he enjoys every beat of the moment. As the Emperor who exiled him and as his sister for calling them weak and started the pacific war.
They were other like the boy enjoying the moment how the mighty have fallen from his throne it was the best show that ever seen.
6 month later after the invasion earth wasn't the same anymore the Britannia Empire, the Chinese Federation, European Union and Euro Britannia are all gone since that day the day known as Galra Empire invasion or Invasion Day. It was the day humanity learn how there was life outside the solar system and how small they felt.
The Britannia Empire and its people are reduce to mere slaves as the nobles lost all of their prestige, power and wealth and reduce to second class citizen. They were those try to resist because of their pride but in the end it was force hard labour punishment. Among the numbers would say to them serve them right or welcome to the bottom of the food chain. Duke Weinberg was the first example of trying to resist the punishment was hard labour working in the mine's along with the rest of the family no matter women or children. Not only that they put a shock collar preventing him from killing himself and escape as the Weinberg are force this kind of hell along with the others.
The Chinese Federation and European Union are also the same reduce to mere slaves and force to mine whatever the Galra Empire searching for.
Ironic as it sound Japan was remain untouched by the Galra Empire it was either they think of the civil war that would wipe of Japan or they simply didn't care what happen to Japan after the pacific war either way it was beneficial as the government was reorganizing all the flaws after the one day war. Military expansion was inducted against the alien menace of the Galra Empire if they try to attack.
The remaining survivor of the royal family along with the Britannia citizen that turn refugee came to Japan for refuge of course as if the country wouldn't forget their hatred against Britannia as many civilian die during the war family friends and love ones perish on that day. The Britannia have nothing to bargain with they have no country, wealth or anything to bargain with. It could say they are stuck between a rock and hard place.
So a deal was made out of sacrifice of the others. Schneizel only hand picks among the Britannia's who are competent including commoners in the ranks of Japanese government while the others are left to fend themselves. Some argue Schneizel playing favorite even so Schneizel in silent cold rage told those incompetents to leave or die those were the choice. After all everything Britannia have is gone destroyed by aliens. And only the competent and strong are needed to rebuild back what they lost. It was just like what the Emperor Ideologies before only the strong can survive.
The only royal members survive the onslaught were Prince Odysseus, Schneizel, Cornelia, Euphemia, Merrybell, Guinevere, Clovis and Carline. But Princess Euphemia wasn't on earth anymore, as she was taken away.
It happen all of sudden the Galra Royalty Prince Lotor came to Japan unannounced he appear in the government cabinet where the royal family including the those important from the E.U. and Chinese Federation were about to discuss. He talk as he knew that a resistance force was here and his father only think small. As he threaten to reveal the location and it would only take seconds and a planetary bombardment will happen wiping the country from the face of the map.
Nobody move or try anything fearing such assault, Schneizel was the one who spoke his reason and why Galra came to invade. Lotor just laugh at the primitive humans, just like Britannia they came to invade that was all.
Euphemia confront Lotor about the wrongness, Lotor was intrigue that a girl was willing to face him without fear him. He decided to have her. He can seen in her eyes as full of innocence she's was like a diamond a beautiful diamond that he wanted to polish to unravel its more beauty.
Cornelia try fight tooth to nail to protect her sister but the majority rule was 1 to ten not only that Euphemia was willing to go with Lotor as long it can protect Japan and her family from the invasion. With a heavy heart Cornelia comply but she swore that she will find Euphemia one day.
12 years later everything change that day, earth was now a colonize world for the Galra empire not only that aliens from other planets also came to earth to migrate while humanity are treated as second class citizen. Those who had the right skills and prestige were allowed to reach up the echelon.
Japan was not isolated as it allows those, who wanted to visit. Schneizel propose Prime Minister Genbu that allows Xenos to enter Japan to avoid suspicious. An isolated populated island that doesn't allow outsider makes a perfect target for suspicious might as well painted a target on its back.
Tokyo has many residents from all over the country looking for refuge after the alien invasion those who have the money and influence might able to have a stable life and job. While those who don't are live in the Ghetto to survive.
The prided Britannia are living in the war torn area of Kyoto as to remind them of the destruction that they did 'reap what they sow'. Some of them still dreaming that Britannia will rise again as loaning money from others in debt saying they will pay it when the Empire rise again. Those who didn't pay the debt are reap what they sow again. The males are turn to slaves while the women prostitution to pay their debts.
Yakuza and criminal underworld use this to bleed the foolish Britannia dry, their Children had no choice but to work to pay their parents debts. At the same time few Japanese would harass the Britannia since the invasion grudges are deep. As they lost many love one's.
It wasn't just the Britannia the E.U. and Chinese Federation were facing same circumstances as saying they didn't help Japan during the war. As such they too were harass and relocated to a similar place like the Britannia.
Even so the military are now working to increase their chance o free the planet from the Galra, scientist work around the clock and have created the new seventh generation knightmare.
Kururugi Suzaku is test piloting the seventh generation knightmare as he got out from the Lancelot the training ground was an underground facility build to hide the Galra of their activities. It was build as an escape route for the higher ups and a secret facility.
"Marvellous as always Suzaku it seems the Lancelot is in top condition." Lloyd looking his creation with pride.

"True" as Lyod looking at the galactic map of the territory Galra invaded, compare to Britannia Supremacy of the area they conquer it was laughable they more like children bickering. At the same time he was entrusted of the Galra technology as Lloyd drool when the Japanese government manage to salvage it's parts during the Invasion.

The second one to betrothed one of their family members Merrybell to the son of the prime minister along with the knightmare frame technology especially the prototype seventh generation as the bargaining chip. Genbu thought such thing is needed especially the knigtmare frame against the Galro also this wed would improve his sons discipline in the future and secure an heir at the same time.
It could say a win win situation. Both of them were married at the age of 14 as a Japanese traditional style wedding was held. It was political marriage Suzaku knows that but he comply out of sympathy and responsibility. Merrybell understood why she was treated like a bargain chip as she was the one with the right age. Since Euphemia was taken by Lotor. And the others didn't make it. Carline was too young she just makes the cut.
Every royal sibling attends including the exile prince Lelouch and Nunnally. Lelouch already guess what this marriage is nothing more than a bargain chip to gain a place in Japan through political means. As such she joins the military like the others before her. All her other surviving royal siblings are now a part of earth resistance. As right now she attends Ashford was undercover as a normal high school student and it's the only place that allows coexistence with Britannia and Japanese.
Merrybell wanted to talk to her brother today it's was something important. "Lelouch we need to talk." the boy just shrugged her. It was like that even before when she first attend, Lelouch never did forgive them for abandon them during exile and war.

"Looks whose talking you Britannia are the ones who started this war I think is ironic you lost your country on that day. After all you all ran tail between your legs." Kusakabe insulting Kewel it wasn't just him, the man would insult other and throw them in their face how they lost their country.
"Shut up if it wants the invasion we would have won that day!"

"Enough we came here to discuss not bickering, prime minister would you continue" Schneizel was the one to be the mediator between the two nation. It was hard trying to maintain the status quo, if Euphemia was there would have being easier.

"The mechs that you see are called Voltron it's a weapon that the collation use to fight against the Galra. If they are fighting the Galra I propose that we alliance with the collation. It's our only hope to free the planet." Naoto giving his suggestion.
"That is absurd we can fight the Galra and free our planet on our own we don't need help from some Xenos." Clovis proclaims how much he hate the idea.
"Even we did more will come." as Manfredi showed everyone the universe map as the image showed them the purple color part of the image was the universe conquers by the Galra Empire. "After 12 years the Galra Empire continue expand already took more planets, system and galaxy. While we wait they will grow stronger. The knightmare's that the Galra took from us will be used and continue expand the technology I've seen it."
"With their technology that are superior then us in time they will created a 10 generation knightmare or probably even more than that."
Everyone could only cringe in fear hearing such statement.

The Empire will provide anything beneficial to the citizen food, water medicine and technology as he indoctrinate the citizen to the Galra Empire.
Technically it was Euphy idea the small little girl that he took was now a warrior, politician and democracy person. It could say he allows her to learn all the knowledge about the universe. It was also her idea to use diplomacy to conquer a planet especially primitive one.
Zarkon would have disagreed such method if he wasn't busy with Voltron. And the location is in the Terminus system where there is outlaw and criminals roam the system. The Emperor didn't want to bother such an outlaw part of the universe so he allows his son Lotor to do whatever he wants.
Euphy also would suggest if there's inhabited planet without any life they allow refuge for those from other world like if the planet was destroyed or no longer habitable. This so called charity will be given if the inhabitants swear their loyalty to the Galra Empire and they did.
Lotor was amused how her own way was not only reducing rebels in his system but acquiring loyalty troops.
He disgust thinking how his father conqueror worlds and more worlds for the last 10,000 years and enslave them. If he was smart he would made allies rather than enemies. Every planet the Galra invaded would spark the flames of rebellion. The lost of those they love families and friends are nothing more than an excuse for their hated against the Galra.
As he grows up those only fear him because he was Zarkon son and some look at him calling him weak because being a Halfbreed. They were others like him being called hybrid by the Galra. It was normal as rape wasn't common among aliens as war is madness.
There were those within Galra whom, felt in love with the locals and got married. Lotor is one of them being half Galra and Altean. He can be the shiny beacon for the halfbreed Galra. But for Zarkon, Lotor was his greatest shame, a foul creature that should be in his presence at all.
The one who could understand him was Euphy. The former Princess told her how she was different from the rest of her family. How people called her weak and useless and she would one day be used as a bargain chip like her other siblings. She told what happen to Lelouch and Nunnally her exiled lost siblings.
The former Princess already heard whispers about her from the nobles in pendragon when she was young she didn't understand the meaning until she grew older. She knew one day she will be used as a bargain chip it was only through her sister influences that will protect her.
Although being Lotor prisoner she was given a freedom to choose and she choose to serve Lotor as his generals and advisors. Both of them able to understand each other even if they were different species and culture.
Right now Lotor was viewing his latest advancement of knightmare . He was very fond of the construction of the knightmare, it was primitive but with the right research and engineering he can created his own version knightmare or probably a Voltron version for himself.
It wasn't just that the Galra Empire have an adopted of using the knightmare frame known as Vincent (Pluton Custom). The Knightmare's were astounding able to move and fight between on ground and space. Robotic sentries use the Vincent Ward as its main army.
The use of knightmare's seems to spread faster in conquering the Universe as its ability to adapt.
Meanwhile back on earth after the discussion of finding collation and preparation to travel to the stars. There was a meeting in the Ghetto and secret place where the Britannia would gather in secret. As they enter the building a secret stair reveal itself as all of them descent to the bottom. Right now in the forbidden chambers belong to Zarkon most trusted advisor, king hand and magic user. The sound of scream of torture soul can be heard the room lighten with purple lighting.
Witch haggard was torturing the immortal known as V.V. that the Galra manage to capture including all research of the Geass Order. He couldn't escape if they want to as the Galra took and destroying everything related to Geass. Hagard would have like to captured others code bearers but one is enough especially the one that is close to the thought elevator.

This story is based on the fifth season on voltron. I got this idea when watching the series. The invasion is based on space battleship Yamato or star Blazers. If what would happen earth was invaded during the Pacific War. As the world was ravage leaving only Japan the country that wasn't decimated by war. At the same time a reverse happen as in the cannon the Britannia would harass the Japanese or eleven but what if Britannia not only lost their country but including their Emperor.
Suzaku marriage with Merrybell is through political means. In the canon it was Euphemia so I decided to change to Merrybell it's something different for a change.
The ships that the alliance build is based on the game call of duty infinite warfare at first I wanted to use the originality from the anime but. In this situation with the Galra hovering the heavens it's better to use whatever to build and no luxury and design. The aliens migrate idea came from the anime Gintama when Amanto invaded Japan and win , the aliens would colonize and migrate on earth, other idea is during the shopping episode of Voltron that multiple species gone shopping in a galactic mall run by the Galra .
