When Linkle first saw Faron covered in twilight she was overcome with horrible pain. She collapsed to the ground. The symbol of the triforce began to glow on her hand, and she could hear Sheik as well. Or at least that is who she assumed it was, because she was blinded by the glow of her hand, and the glow of another's. Linkle and Sheik finally gave in and they both collapsed to the ground unconscious.

When Linkle woke up, she felt different. She tried to get up, but found that she was on all fours and covered in fur. She quickly realized that she had been transformed into a fox. She panicked as her memory of the twilight cloud came back, but she quickly realized that it was not the most logical thing to do. Instead, she took in her surroundings. She was chained up in a prison cell. There were two cells across from her. One contained an unconscious wolf, and the other was empty. The empty cell door was open, and it looked like the chains on the floor had been broken. She started to look around for means of escape when the wolf started to wake up. He got up and looked around. Then, he started to speak once he noticed Linkle.

"Hey fox, why did they chain you up"? he asked. Linkle almost fainted hearing the wolf talk, but she managed to respond.

"I'm not sure, and I don't even know what's going on," she said.

"We are in the dungeons of Hyrule Castle, believe it or not, I've been locked up in here before. How did you survive the Twilight cloud? Why aren't you a soul"? he asked.

"I don't know, but how did you survive the Twilight cloud?'' she answered back.

"It's kind of hard to explain, but I'm not really a wolf, most animals can see that, but not you. You have a strange smell and aura". he said back.

"What is an aura?, and are you transformed like me too?" she asked.

" You've been transformed by the Twilight too, that explains your smell?!, that can only mean one thing…" he said excitedly, but trailed off.

"What…, what does it mean? I have so many unanswered questions."

"It means that you carry a piece of the triforce, and that would explain your aura, but that's impossible. I carry the triforce of courage and Princess Zelda has the triforce of wisdom. You could have the triforce of power, but it's very unlikely…" as he trailed off he began pacing in his cell.

"Wait, does this have anything to do with the triforce shaped birthmark on my hand"? she asked, coming to a realization.

"Yes, then it must be true, can you show me your paw"? he asked. She held up her left paw and it glowed, showing the triforce of courage. At the same time, his left paw began to do the same thing. "How is it possible?, we both have the triforce of courage"! he exclaimed.

"I don't know, that doesn't matter right now, we need to find a way out of here. I need to find out what happened to Sheik, Ursula, and Link. How did you escape before"? she asked. Instead of answering her question he had a very puzzled look on his face.

"Did you say you know Link and Ursula"? he asked.

"Yes, you know them too"?! she asked excitedly.

"Yes, actually, I am Link," he stated calmly. After hearing this Linkle's jaw dropped wide open and she realized he must be telling the truth. Link had told stories of his adventures before, but she had thought that many of them had been made up. Apparently he really was turned into a wolf at one point. Linkle felt guilty for not believing him before.

"Link, I'm sorry for not believing your stories before. I always thought you made them up, it's me Linkle." she said after a long pause. Now it was his turn for his jaw to drop, but he quickly got over his surprise and focused on the task at hand.

"Linkle, I don't know why you also somehow have the triforce of courage, but if you can remember from my stories, Midna was the one who helped me escape, but without her here, I don't know what to do" he said sadly.

"Did someone say my name"? asked another voice.

—————————————————————

It had been almost 16 years since Midna had destroyed the Mirror of Twilight and had left the world of light. Sixteen years since she had destroyed the only connection she had to the man she loved. It had been for the best though, along with her many other decisions that she sometimes regretted. Today happened to mark the 16th anniversary of when Zant usurped her throne, and she had first met Link. She had been skeptical about him at first, but after he saved her life, she began to care for him more and more.

Today was also the Festival of Twilight, which happened every twenty years. The Festival of Twilight was created to celebrate the joining together of what had at the time been the two races banished to the Twilight Realm. These were the Gerudo that were still loyal to Ganondorf, and the Hylian Interlopers. For twenty years, the two tribes fought the War of Twilight. The war ended with a peace treaty and resulted in the mixed race of Twili. It was Midna's job to oversee the festival. The Palace of Twilight was the center of the festival, and almost every Twili was there. They were all gathering for the most important part of the festival, Princess Midna's Speech.

Midna paced back and forth, she knew the speech by heart, but she was yet still looking at her notecards. One of the servants entered the room "Your majesty, it's time" he beckoned. Midna sighed and put the notecards down. She followed the servant to the Throne Room where everyone was gathered. She climbed the stairs up to the pedestal and the crowd went silent. Midna was about to speak when There was a loud crash from outside. Everyone turned their heads to the door as a strange man appeared holding a blue instrument. The man looked almost Twili if it weren't for his red cloak and the diamond patterns on his clothes.

"So this is the Twilight Realm I've heard so much about" he said, "Well, it's a shame that I brought him with me" he continued, and behind him appeared a man Midna had thought long dead. It was impossible, she had killed him with the fused shadow years ago, but nevertheless, it was Zant. At the sight of him many of the Twili that had been alive at the time screamed and began to run toward another door. Midna could do nothing but stare in shock when the other man teleported to the other door and blocked it. "Know one is going anywhere"! he said. The civilians backed away and were surrounded by the two men. Zant came forward at the sight of Midna.

"So Midna, are you surprised"? he asked in his snakelike tone.

"I killed you, how are you still alive"?! she shouted, her tone becoming angered.

"Let's just say, I was revived from the past," he said. After hearing this, Midna's hands grew bright with magic, and she hurled it at Zant and the man. The man simply teleported a few inches away, and Zant caught it in his hand, turning it back at Midna. She was hit by her own magic, and Midna stumbled backwards. Her guards tried to fight the two men, but they were easily killed. "Well what have we here, I feel like we have been in this situation before, Midna. What happened…oh right, I cursed you"! As Zant finished he threw Midna to the ground and she returned to her cursed imp state. Midna managed to get up and she fled, again abandoning her citizens. It felt like the only option other than death or surrender. She knew there was only one way to defeat the two men, she needed to find another way into the light world. When she made it outside, she realized that she may not need to after all, because somehow the Mirror of Twilight had been reformed. She quickly ran towards it, and she found herself in the world of light.

The Arbiter's Grounds weren't covered in Twilight as she had expected, and she quickly went to hide in the shadows. Somehow though, the light didn't burn as it had before. So, she took a cautious step into the light. Immediately she saw that she returned to her true self. The power of the Spirits of Light hadn't completely abandoned her. She knew that Zant had probably begun to cover Hyrule in Twilight again. Knowing this, she ran as fast as she could out of Gerudo Desert, and slipped off a cliff into Lake Hylia. It was covered in the clouds of Twilight, and she returned to her cursed form, but she made her way anyway. She traveled to Hyrule Field and could see the clouds of Twilight covering the same places as before. She needed to find Link, but she didn't know where to look, he was probably stuck as a wolf somewhere in the Twilight. She decided to head for Hyrule Castle first to search the Dungeons where she had first found him.

Finally, she snuck her way through the Castle and into the Dungeons. She quickly hid as she heard the sound of two voices. They weren't exactly voices, but she could tell that one of them was definitely Link. However, the other was less clear. As soon as she heard her name mentioned she decided to reveal her presence. "Did someone say my name"? she asked.
