The teleportation was unsettling. Linkle felt like she was torn into pieces and reassembled again. They quickly arrived in Faron Woods. However, Midna's power was weaker than before, and the three were separated.
Midna found herself on the ground. It had been a while since she had teleported anyone anywhere. She looked around the Twilight-lit woods for Zelda and Linkle, but found no sign of them. She quickly realized what had happened and was very frustrated with her mistake. She decided to head to the nearby Faron Spring.
She could already hear it's cry. It brought back memories of the first time she had come to this world. As she sat in the spring, she began to recall her thoughts from earlier. Could Linkle really have half of the Triforce of Courage? If she did, then how did it break and why would it choose her? She sat there for what seemed like hours. In the Twilight though, no time seemed to pass at all.
Meanwhile, Zelda found herself in Ordon Spring. The spirit of Ordona was crying out in pain. It stung her sensitive ears, and she wished there was something she could do. Midna and Linkle were both missing. She went to look for them, but she felt a strange aura coming from Ordon Village. She decided to follow it. She exited the spring and followed the road to Ordon. Sadly, this time Ordon was covered in Twilight. Zelda watched as the souls of the townspeople cowered in fear. There was nothing she could do about it. She found herself falling to the ground in tears. How could she let something like this happen again? She had vowed to better protect her kingdom, and yet it was again covered in Twilight. She had failed her citizens, she had failed Nayru, she had failed her friends, and she had failed to protect Linkle. The truth was that even though she had said she had a plan, she had been bluffing. What was wrong with her? How could her wisdom fail her in this time of need?
Suddenly, a noise broke her sobs. She looked up and almost fainted as she saw a child. It was a girl a little older than Linkle. She had blonde hair in a braid on one side of her face. The other side is what shocked her. The left side of her face was that of Sheik. The girl stared at her with her mouth wide open.
"Child, can you speak"? Zelda asked.
"Yes, my name is Ursula." the child replied. Zelda paused for a moment considering the next question she would ask.
"Has your face always been like that"? she finally asked.
"No, it changed after the Twilight came. Why do you have it too?" she asked.
"I will explain later, but right now we need to go find some friends of mine". Zelda answered. The two then headed off for Faron Woods. Zelda's mind was racing. Could this child have something to do with her half-disguised state? Did half of the Triforce of Wisdom go to this girl? As they crossed the bridge into Faron, the girl stopped.
"What's wrong"? asked Zelda.
"The last time I crossed this bridge, I lost my friends," Ursula slowly replied.
"Well, I think I know where to find them," Zelda replied. This put a small smile of hope on her face. They followed the path to Faron Spring. They stopped as they saw Midna and Linkle; Midna was in tears.
Linkle found herself moaning on the ground in pain. She managed to get up, but it was still difficult to be down on four legs. She looked around and recognized the Faron area, but she saw no sign of Princess Midna or Sheik, otherwise known as Princess Zelda. She began to panic, but stopped when she heard a mysterious instrument. It sounded like a horn. She followed the sound, and it entranced her. She found the source of the noise. It was a skull kid, and he was playing a horn. She had no fear looking at him, but when he noticed her, he jumped in fright.
"Ah, a fox, please don't eat me!'' he shouted, and began to run away. Linkle chased after him. She quickly lost sight of him though. She took in her new surroundings, noticing some ancient ruins. She followed them to an open glade. In it, there lay a pedestal with a sword in it. It seemed to call to her. She began to run towards it, but quickly hid behind a pillar when a man appeared nearby.
The man was pale, and he wore a red cloak. His face became a crooked smile as he gazed upon the sword.
"Finally, after thousands of years of imprisonment. I have finally found you…Fi." He exclaimed. As soon as he finished, the sword began to pulse with a blue light, and the sword began to speak.
"Ghirahim, it has been a very long time. I thought that your imprisonment would have lasted longer. I have concluded that there is a 75% chance that you have come to recruit me" it said.
"Yes, of course. Plus, I found that the sky child, or should I say your master, was the one who accidentally freed me, and I was able to capture him." the man continued.
"That is not possible, I can sense the presence of the Triforce of Courage is nearby. My master will soon pull me from this stone again. You and your armies will have a 99.9% chance of defeat." the sword continued.
"Oh Fi, always with the numbers and stats. Anyway, it seems that you are no longer of use to me. I must return to the Castle and check on my prisoners. As well as try to get this Zant under control. Sure, he made it easy for the stupid mortals to fear us, but this whole Twilight thing is getting boring. It is time for some battles and bloodshed!" Then, he disappeared in a cloud black diamond shapes.
Linkle slowly came out from behind the column. She made her way up to the pedestal. Suddenly, she saw something move behind her. She turned around to see the skull kid.
"You're not supposed to be here". said the skull kid. It blew a single note and a fog enveloped Linkle. When the fog cleared, she found herself near Faron Spring. She followed the cries of the spirit and that's where she found Midna.
Midna was startled when she noticed Linkle was there. She invited her to sit beside her. For a while they just sat there in silence. Then, Midna burst into tears. Linkle looked very confused as to the cause of the tears, but her confusion was interrupted when Zelda and a girl arrived at the spring.
