Ivena found herself in a black void. She could barely recall the events that had just taken place. She had no idea how she had gotten there, but she knew that this must be some sort of vision or dream. Suddenly, three female figures appeared. Each was surrounded by a different color of flame. One was green, one was blue, and one was red. Following them were two more figures. One was a woman, and she had a silver chest plate and the rest of her was clad in purple. Her eyes were red, and her hair was silver. The other was a man with a long beard and a fixed expression on his face. Both were transparent and ghostlike. They also each carried a large purple medallion with a symbol of dots and an upside down triangle.

The women with colored flames began to speak in unison. "Princess Ivena of the Twili. You have been called to the sacred realm for a very special purpose. We are the three goddesses of Hyrule, or as you know it to be called, the world of light. We have chosen you to become the Sage of Shadow. You shall be one of the next generation of sages. Keep in mind that this power can be stripped away from you if you abuse it. Your Twili magic will be enhanced and we will give you the ability to dwell in the light world as long as needed. A great evil has returned and powerful objects have fallen into the wrong hands. A servant of our fallen brother has escaped his prison and has begun to form an army. He has already recruited the Twili you know as Zant, and with the ability to travel through time and space, he is very dangerous. We will give you help to escape from him. Then, you must make your way to Faron Spring. There, your sister and others are waiting for your arrival. They will be able to help you in your endeavors. Your wounds will be filled with dark magic, but the light spirits will be able to stop the spreading. You will meet a wolf that will help you escape. We know this is a lot to take in, and we will give you more details later. You will awaken within a few moments. May your decisions be wise, may you have courage, and may you embrace your power." As they finished, the five figures slowly faded away. The void began to fade away, and Ivena's consciousness began to return.

Ivena slowly opened her eyes, and they quickly adjusted to the light. The light turned out to be that of a twilight lit dungeon. Ivena's hands and feet were chained to the wall and floor. She immediately felt the stab of pain from her stomach wound. She cried out in pain as the dark magic began to envelope her. She began to see flashes, and she collapsed to the ground. The flashes showed the cell around her in a pounding black and white, and the only color she saw was the blood spattered floor. Then, pulling her out of the flashes came a wolf howl. The flashes stopped, and her newfound sage power began to give her strength. She stood up from the floor and began to walk towards the bars of her cell, but was stopped as she reached the end of her chains.

For the first time, she noticed that someone was in the cell across from her. It was a strange looking wolf, and he too was chained, but his chains appeared to be far stronger than hers. As she peered into his blue feral eyes she began to feel a presence in her head. It began to speak.

"Do not fear, for I am only connecting our minds so I can speak to you. I am the wolf that you can see across from you. I was changed into this form by the Twilight covering this World. My name is Link and I have been through this before during the first Twilight Occupation. I am being held prisoner because I have tried to stop the evil men that now control this land. Who are you Twili? Why are you here?"

As it finished, Ivena was somehow not surprised at the strange wolf talking in her head. She wanted to respond, but she didn't know how to telepathically communicate like he could. So, instead she began to speak, and it took a lot of will to do so.

"I am Princess Ivena of the Twilight Realm. I am the younger twin sister of Princess Midna. I have no idea where I am, how I got here, and I am dying. I was stabbed by a strange man. I was going about my usual business when the King's advisor Zant and the strange man appeared out of nowhere in my chambers. Zant was a lot more powerful than usual though, and I couldn't fend them off. I fear that the knife they stabbed me with was tinged with black magic. I fear that it is corrupting me. I have been told that you can help me escape in a vision I had before waking up."

She almost collapsed as she finished speaking. She barely managed to not black out, and again the wolf began to speak.

"I am a friend of your sister, and I know the Zant that you speak of. The other man is a servant of an ancient evil that has plagued my land for thousands of years. He has escaped from his prison, stole a very powerful item, and has begun to try and resurrect his master. I believe that he mistook you for Midna, and plans to use you in a ritual. If that knife is tainted, then I fear that the process has already begun. I know a place where you can be healed, but we must escape first. Are you as skilled in magic as your sister"?

Ivena actually didn't know how to answer his question, but was stunned at his words. Before she could think of an answer though, her wound began to throb extremely, and the flashes began again. This time she found herself in another vision. It was in a black void, and before her stood a giant monster. It was covered in black scales, had a large mouth of sharp teeth, two feet, and large ugly toes. In its head was a stone spike carved with symbols. It roared and it grew long flimsy arms and fingers, along with a black scaly tail. It bent down toward her and opened its mouth to eat her. She bent away screaming, but the vision then ended. She heard the wolf's voice giving soothing pleas in her mind.

"Come back…Come back to the light…Do not give in to the curse…stay in this world."

Ivena awoke with a gasp and her vision returned to normal. As she awoke, she found herself surrounded by black diamonds, but they began to diminish as she came back to her normal consciousness. She didn't remember falling to the floor, but as she got up she realized that she was out of her chains, and the cell door was unlocked. She couldn't recall using magic to do this, but she decided to go with it. She stumbled out of the cell, and made her way to the bars encasing the wolf. She was determined to get him out of there. She examined his chains and saw that they had anti-magic runes on them.

"My magic won't be of any use, there are runes that prevent it from working. There is always the old fashioned way though." As she finished she realized that she felt a little stronger now, and it was easier to speak. She looked around for something to pick the locks. She used one of the broken bars from her cell to pry open the cell door. Then, she prayed the end of the chain out of the floor. The issue was that he would have to noisily drag the chain around. Ivena saw this issue though, and began to work around the chain issue. Instead of using magic on the chains, she used it to shrink him so he was small enough to get out of the chains. Once he stepped out of the cell, she grew him back to normal size.

"There, we're out. Now what?" she asked

"We sneak out through the sewers. I've been there before. It is disgusting, but it is the only way without the threat of being caught."

As he finished, Ivena's face wrinkled in disgust, but she understood. They snuck through several tunnels and came to a sewer entrance. Link motioned for Ivena to slip through. After what felt like an hour of wandering, they came to an opening. Ivena gasped for air as she came out, and gasped as she saw the Twilight covered Castle Town.

"Is this really the World of Light"? she asked the wolf.

"It is, but as I told you, right now Zant and the demon lord have control."

They ran out of town and into Hyrule Field. Link's mouth dropped as he saw the field.

"What's wrong"? asked Ivena

"When Hyrule was covered in Twilight before, it didn't cover Hyrule Field like this." he said, "Anyway, we don't have time to stop, we have to get you to Faron Woods. That is where we will meet up with my friends and then we can hopefully heal you". he finished

They hurried off toward Faron, but back in the dungeons the one of the guards was coming to check on them. Once he realized that all of the prisoners were gone, he went to tell his masters.

The guard was a younger Bulblin. It was one of his first days on the job, and he was very afraid. He had been too young to remember the first Twilight Occupation, but his parents had been murdered by Zant after failing him. Now, he worked for that same man. He wished to please him and stay alive, but with the prisoners gone he had to do something. There was another man that seemed to be in charge of Zant. The guard didn't know anything about him. He figured that maybe he would give a little more mercy when he told him the news. So, he went directly to Ghirahim.

When he entered the throne room, Ghirahim was pacing back and forth and seemed a little stressed. Zant was nowhere to be seen. So, the guard entered the room and bowed to show his respect.

"My Lord, I bring news from the dungeons"

After hearing these words Ghirahim stopped pacing and looked up from the floor. He smiled deviously and responded.

"Is it good news? Have you made one of them crack? Is the sacrifice ready?" he asked in anticipation.

The bulblin gulped, knowing that this moment could either promote him or have him killed.

"I wouldn't really say that it's good news sir, but the prisoners have..uh…escaped" he finished nervously.

Ghirahim's smile turned into a glare of disappointment, and he summoned his sword. The bulblin began to slowly back away.

"You mean to tell me that all of my prisoners have escaped! Even though we took extra precautions?! I should have never trusted you insolent bulblins! Now you will set an example for if anyone else fails!"

With that, he chopped the bulblin's head clean off, and kicked it to the side, shaking his head. The blood stained the carpet and turned it blood red. Then, Ghirahim summoned a horde of bokoblins and began to slash away at them. He roared in fury as he killed one after the other. Once they were dead, he had calmed down. He teleported the bodies away, and Zant came in.

"Master, what is all this yelling about? I thought you were coming up with another plan" he said

Ghirahim quickly put away his sword and regained his composure.

"Zant! Why I was just relieving a little stress, and making an example of this bulblin. He let the prisoners escape!" His anger began to rise again as he finished.

"Master, can't we send out search parties? Plus, the sacrifice is still connected to us. She will be weakened to almost death very soon. You can always come up with another plan. We will resurrect Demise."

This calmed the little anger that was left in Ghirahim. He could track them down, and all was not lost. He reached out to try and locate the source of his curse. He was able to peer into Ivena's mind. He saw through her eyes that they were almost to Faron.

"There's no running now Twilight Princess. Soon you, the beast sky child, the strange fox, the reborn goddess, and that servant of the goddess will be mine once again." Ghirahim thought, and he immediately began to resume his scheming.
