The other groups were on their way back when they heard Ivena's laughs and screams. As they drew closer, they broke into a run and headed for the glowing light of Faron Spring. Both groups arrived at the same time to find Linkle with blood stained teeth, lying on the ground with wide eyes,
and Ivena lying unconscious on the ground. For a moment they all just stared, but the first to break the silence was Midna.
"See, I told you we shouldn't have left them alone"! Midna said sarcastically. Everyone turned to glare at Midna, and she quickly shut her mouth and wiped off her smug face. Midna jumped off Link's back and ran over to Ivena. The next to move was Ursula, who ran over to Linkle. Zelda and Link stayed back and only took time to stare at each other, each having news to share, and trying to decide how to deal with the new situation too. Link went over to talk to Linkle, and she explained what had happened. Midna listened and translated their conversation. They all stood around Ivena, wondering why such a thing had happened, and how they could possibly save her.
Zelda was the first to act, and closed her eyes. She lowered her body into a sitting position, and began to sing in ancient Hylian.
"En dashevu nobe shutsu, tje shutwu kewanu sale"
The others stared at her, and Link began to howl along. As the words repeated, Ursula and Midna joined in too, Linkle swayed from side to side with the beat, because she didn't know if she could currently sing. They began to sing louder, and faster. As this happened, Ivena began to move, and seemed as if she was waking up. Then, the spot from before began to glow again. This made Linkle nervous, but she trusted the others to know what they were doing. Finally, Ivena awoke with a start as something was pulled from the glowing spot. Linkle couldn't quite make out what it was, but it appeared to be a shard of metal. They all stopped singing to stare at the object. As soon as Ivena laid her eyes on it, she began to reach toward it, but was stopped by Zelda.
"Ivena No"! She shouted. Ivena stopped and stared up at the group. Zelda turned to Midna with a knowing expression. Midna met her face with a nod of acknowledgment, and she used her magic to grab the metal shard. She threw it far into the bushes. Again, Zelda had to stop Ivena from going after it. The other three were confused as to what was going on. Seeing their expressions, Midna turned around to explain.
"Ivena still had a shard of the cursed knife in her. Her powerful emotions made it take control of her. The issue is, now she is drawn to it due to the last permanent effects of the curse. Another issue is that it cannot be destroyed, and it may have been a tracking device".
Her words gave mixed reactions, but they got the basic idea. Now that Ivena was ok, they decided to share their information that was gathered. Zelda left out the part about what their secrets actually were, but otherwise it was the whole story.
After the retelling, the group gathered for a night's rest. It had been a long and exhausting day. Linkle had trouble figuring out what position to sleep in, but Link showed her how he did it. Ursula fell asleep while hugging Linkle. Link wanted to keep watch, but Midna and Ivena decided to take the first watch. Zelda was trying to contact Faron in the spring, and was meditating. Midna and Ivena went a little ways outside the spring. They both looked at each other, knowing they each had a lot to say, but they stayed quiet. Finally, Midna broke the silence with a question.
"What was it like"? She asked very seriously.
"What do you mean"? Replied Ivena.
"Being under the curse, time travel, going to the Sacred Realm"? Midna continued.
"It was…wait, what's the Sacred Realm"? Asked Ivena.
"I could sense you there. When you were unconscious after the power burst. I know you're a Sage. It is a great honor for a Twili to be a Sage of the World of Light. The only question is why would the Goddesses choose you"?
"I have no idea. Also, you didn't answer my question" replied Ivena.
" Oh sorry, the Sacred Realm is the place where Hyrule's goddesses departed from the heavens and left the Triforce. It is an item of their divine power. If someone with a balanced soul of power, wisdom, and courage touches it, then they will obtain it. However, if someone without that balance touches it, it splits into pieces and the piece that most resonates with their soul stays with them. The others choose their champions in Hyrule. Right now the Triforce is split actually. Zelda and Ursula each have half of the Triforce of Wisdom, Link has the Triforce of Courage, and Ganondorf was the last known person to have the Triforce of Power. We currently don't know the whereabouts of it though, and it may be a threat to us due to its taintedness" Midna explained.
"Wow, that's a lot to take in! I don't know what to say. I have one question though. How is Linkle protected from the Twilight if she doesn't have a piece of the Triforce"? asked Ivena.
"I've been asking myself the same thing, but I have some theories," said Midna.
"Please tell me! I'm dying to know"! Ivena loudly exclaimed.
"Shh, be quiet! The others are sleeping and Zelda is trying to concentrate. You have to promise not to freak out, but I think that…" Midna was cut off when they suddenly heard a loud noise.
