The rest of the gang found themselves in a different prison from before, and they were all put in magic absorbing chains. Wherever they were, they were back in a Twilight covered area. The cell was made of sandstone, and they were all chained to the floor. Midna and Link recognized that they were in the Arbiter's Grounds, but due to their mouths also being bound, they couldn't tell anyone. All of Link's paws were chained together, and Sheik had separated into Zelda and Ursula, again in half Sheik form, and they were on opposite sides of the room. The group had almost lost all hope, but Ivena stayed strong. She didn't know why she hadn't given up yet, but she had a gut feeling about it.
Meanwhile, Linkle woke up, and was very confused as she saw Ilia and some of the other villagers crowded around her.
While she was asleep the villagers had decided to lie about what had happened. They wanted to keep Linkle safe, and so they told her that she had been attacked by an animal in the woods and had been out for days. Linkle believed that all the events that had just happened had been strange dreams while she was unconscious. Ilia had sent the monkeys back to the temple to keep them out of it.
For a few weeks Linkle stayed in the village and forgot about the whole ordeal, but one night she woke up to a strange sound. She climbed out of bed and went downstairs, got dressed in her head, and snuck outside. The sound had come from the woods, so she followed the path into Faron.
She continued to hear the sound until she came to a valley. The sound came from within the Sacred Grove, which was in the valley, but she had no idea how to get there. She took a few minutes to think, and came up with something. She took off her cloak and jumped off the cliff. She held her cloak like a sailcloth to slow her fall. Somehow the feeling felt familiar, but she ignored it as she continued to follow the sound.
The sound turned out to be a playful skull kid and he danced around her.
"I have a surprise for you"! He said with a smile.
Linkle hesitantly followed him through the mist covered trees until she came upon a crumbled building. The skull kid disappeared into the mist before her before she could ask where they were.
The structure was ancient and only some of the foundation was left, but she could feel a strange presence coming from inside. She walked inside the structure and came upon the pedestal of the Master Sword, which she recognizes from Link's stories. She turned away, but stopped when she heard a voice.
"Do not turn away Linkle" said the voice.
Linkle faced the sword again and saw that it was glowing.
"Are you the sword"? She asked.
"I am the spirit of the Master Sword. The designated name I was given is Fi. I have served your father and his ancestors before. The time has come for you to awaken as the Hero of the Twili" Fi said.
"I'm no hero, I only have a little crossbow training," Linkle responded.
"This isn't true, Linkle. The recent events that you believed to be coma dreams actually occurred. You are the daughter of Princess Midna and my Master, Link. You have half of the Triforce of Courage. You were there when Ghirahim tried to recruit me" Fi explained.
"But they would never lie to me"! Linkle exclaimed in anger.
"They only wished to protect you, for they believed you were too young and helpless for the truth" Fi replied.
Linkle knew that Fi was right, but she didn't want to believe her.
"Then what happened to everyone else in the spring"? Linkle asked.
"They were captured, and are currently imprisoned somewhere in the Twilight" Fi answered.
"How can I save them"? Linkle asked in desperation.
"You must awaken the other sages and create the Master Crossbows. Your current crossbows only have a 1% chance of success at freeing your friends. There is a prophecy about how to create them, and goes as follows. Wood of Forest, String of Fire, Flint of Water, Arrow of Shadow, Feather of Spirit. You must decipher these clues to create the Master Crossbows" Fi explained.
Linkle pondered this for a second before asking another question.
"Is there any way that you can aid me"? She asked.
"Unfortunately I can no longer leave the Master Sword, but I shall send an aid" Fi answered.
Then the glow disappeared from the sword and the ruins were left in silence.
Linkle was about to head back to the village when she heard something behind her. She turned around and stumbled as she saw someone.
"You must be Linkle," the voice said.
