Log 5: Obey the Law!

Cover Image: Ben had a pair of handcuffs locked around his wrists, struggling to break free from the bindings. Yukiko and Gwen were behind him, laughing at his plight.

"Come on, Jason, what're you so worried about?" A light skinned female asked.

Jason wanted to turn to her but decided to keep his eyes glued to the road. "I'm sorry, Jess! It's just that I'm not so sure if this was a good idea. Robbing a bank? Really?"

Jess rolled her eyes, then grinned teasingly. "Don't get your panties in a twist! The bank was a small one, so it was clean get in and get out. By the time the cops get a clue we'll be long gone from this city!" Jess reassured him. She leaned back in her seat, glancing out of the side mirror just in case. She smirks when she sees no cops and rolls down her window to take in the night air.

Jason nodded his head. "R-right, I'm just nervous is all…"

"Don't be! You did good for your first robbery! Keep this up and you'll be at my level in no time-"

WHEE WOO! WHEE WOO!

"What the hell?" Jess looks back into the side mirror and sees flashing red and blue lights. "Shit, the cops are here!" She cursed.

"What!? I-I thought you said they wouldn't be able to get us!" Jason cries. She smacks his arm to get him to calm down.

"Just chill down! Just pull over and I'll hide the money under the seats. Sit there and only talk when they ask you something. Leave most of the talking to me, okay?" She instructs him.

"Y-yeah! Yeah alright," Jason nods his head and pulls over to the sidewalk. Jess quickly hid the stolen money under the seats. The two braced themselves for their confrontation with the police, Jason sweating nervously.

The flashing lights stopped a few meters behind them, and footprints could be heard. There was a light tapping on the window, motioning for Jason to roll it down. Whatever the two crooks expected when the officer was in view was the exact opposite of what was in front of them.

Standing outside the window was obviously a teenage girl with long black hair. She had a dark blue cap on her head with black sunglasses. She was dressed in a standard dark blue police jacket and a short dark blue skirt with black leggings. Her feet were covered in short heels to add to her height. Above her right breast was a gold star-shaped badge with 'Officer Y' written on it.

"I'm going to need to see your IDs," Officer Y demanded.

Jason looked absolutely confused by the teenager in front of him, while Jess rolled her eyes. Thinking that this must be some kind of prank some kids wanted to play. "Ugh, we don't have time for this!" She growled mentally.

She pushed Jason out of the way lightly. "Sorry, Officer..uh?"

"Y. Officer Y," The policewoman finished for her.

"Right, right. So, Officer Y, you look a little too young to be a police officer," Jess said.

"Thank you, I get that a lot!" Officer Y smiled.

"Of course, you must be a busy woman. We wouldn't want to hold up your time or anything," Jess said.

"Oh of course. You never know what kind of thieves and no do-gooders are lurking around at night," Officer Y nodded her head.

"Exactly! It's become very difficult for my boyfriend and I to enjoy a date night without watching our own backs," Jess lied.

"Tell me about it! It was so difficult to spend quality time with my boyfriend last year. But duty calls," Officer Y and Jess shared a laugh.

"Anyway, we best be on our way. Have a good night, Officer!" Jess and Jason waved goodbye. She motioned for him to take off and he pressed down on the gas pedal. However, to their confusion the car wouldn't budge from its spot.

"W-what!?" Jason gasped, freaking out.

"Sorry about that, but I'm still going to need your IDs," Officer Y's smile never left her face. That smile was enough to send a chill down Jason's spine.

Jess didn't let this panic her too much, figuring the car must've jammed somehow. Worst case scenario she'd have to knock the teenager out. "Well, you see Officer…I left our IDs in my other purse, so could you perhaps look the other way this time?" Jess gave the teenager a chance.

Officer Y shook her head. "No can do, it's against the law to look the other way. We'll have to take you down to the station." Officer Y turned to her right, looking back at her 'vehicle', "Officer G! Bring out the hand-cuffs!"

"There's another one?" The crooks questioned.

What they expected to show up next was another teenager, but instead were treated to another surprise. Walking up to Officer Y was a little girl with orange hair. She had the same blue cap as Officer Y, but wore a lighter blue uniform with blue shorts that reached her knees. She had the same pair of sunglasses on her face.

"Here you go, Officer Y," Officer G handed over two pairs of silver handcuffs.

"Thank you, Officer G," The teen patted the girl's head, making the smaller officer blush.

Jason was confused by the sight of the little girl. "Um…why is there a little girl with you?"

"Oh, her? She's just my cadet in training! I'm teaching her how to take down criminals using fire-based weaponry without killing them," Officer Y giggled, sadistically. The way she answered his question made him shiver in fear.

Officer G added on. "Oh yes! She's a natural when it comes to burning people to the point of submission and tears! Do you wanna see?"

"EEP! N-No thank you!" Jason flinched away from the two girls. Jess rolled her eyes, not being fooled by the acting the kids were putting on. The two of them were on a schedule and she wouldn't let some stupid kids get in her way.

"Okay, kids, I was kind enough to go along with this little charade at first, but I'm getting annoyed. Now, how about you two let us be on our way or we'll have to do this the hard way," Jess threatened.

The two officers glanced at each other, and Officer G pulled out a notepad. The little officer started writing in it, much to the criminals' confusion.

"What is she doing?" Jess asked.

"Oh, well, you two just threatened an officer and one in training. So, that's going to be two citations. One for not having your IDs and the other for threatening us," Officer Y answered.

"This vehicle is also unregistered, so that'll be a third one," Officer G added.

"Right, so please step out of the vehicle," Officer Y requested.

Jason turned to his partner. "What do we do?" He whispered.

"I tried to give these kids an opportunity to leave peacefully, but since they want to play police, we'll just have to deal with them," Jess told him.

"L-Like kill them!?" Jason squeaked.

"What? No! Just knock them out and leave," Jess replied, offended that he'd even assume that. She may be a thief, but she was no child killer. He nodded his head and stepped out of the car. Jess grabbed her bat from underneath the seat and exited the car. She hid it behind her back, so that they wouldn't see it.

Officer Y nodded her head now that both were out of the car. "Now, I need you two to turn around so we can cuff you and take you down to the station."

Jess pulled the bat forward, holding it threateningly. "Oh, I don't think so, kid! I'll give you one last warning to leave before things get ugly!" She growled. Jason also brought up his own fists, silently hoping he wouldn't have to hit two young girls.

Oddly enough, both female officers didn't flinch or look afraid. "I wouldn't recommend that ma'am. You wouldn't want us to bring over our attack dog. Things could get messy," Officer G smirked.

Jess laughed at the threat. "Oh, am I supposed to be scared of some puppy?"

THUD!

GRRR!

Both criminals paused and slowly turned around to see what had made that noise. On top of the car was a large orange dog creature with no eyes and three gills on both sides of his head. It growled fiercely at the two crooks, making them back away.

Jason shivered in fear, close to peeing his pants at the terrifying sight. Jess had lost all of her earlier bravado and was equally as scared of the orange beast. "W-w-what is that thing!?" Jason yelled.

Officer Y giggled again. "Oh him? That's our attack dog, Wildmutt."

"W-why is he called that?" Jess asked.

"Probably because he maimed a few people the last time we brought him out on patrol. Lots of blood and bones were left in his wake. He only really listens to us and our chief on occasions that he isn't hungry," Officer G answered.

"H-h-h-hungry for what?" Jason asked, scared.

"Human flesh!" Officer Y answered way too joyfully.

"EEEK!" Jason squealed like a girl.

Jess tried to regain some of her earlier bravado. "A-as if I'll be scared of some overgrown pup!" Jess swung her bat with all of her strength.

CRACK!

Jess and Jason stared at the broken bat in silence, trying to figure out how things had gone wrong so fast. They heard growling and looked back up at Wildmutt, the beast holding the over half of the bat in his mouth. He spat it out and roared in their faces and pounced.

"AAAAHHHHHHH!"

Jess and Jason swayed side to side as they were tied up and hung from a streetlamp. The police held the stolen money they had hid, wondering who had caught these two.

The Rustbucket drove past the crime scene as if it had nothing to do with the apprehending of the robbers.

Inside of the RV, Yukiko was currently folding the fake police uniforms that she and Gwen had worn. She placed them back inside of a box and slid it underneath the bunks. Ben and Gwen were relaxing with their own devices.

Max turned to his grandkids. "So, did you kids have fun?" He asked.

"Heck yeah! You should've seen the looks on their faces, Grandpa! I'm pretty sure they peed their pants!" Ben laughed.

"Heh, maybe I should join in next time," Max suggested.

"Oh yes! I would love that! Though, I think we'll have to think of a different skit. Not sure how many people will fall for the police girls idea. And those heels were uncomfortable!" Yukiko tossed the heels aside.

"I have to admit, maybe dressing up isn't as bad as I thought," Gwen shrugged. She was cut off guard by Yukiko's squeal of happiness and the heiress wrapping her in a hug.

"Oh, Gwen! I'm so happy to hear you say that! We'll be doing more costumes in the future!" Yukiko gushed, happily.

"Y-Y-Yukiko! You're crushing me!" Gwen cried as the heiress just increased her grip.

Ben laughed at Gwen's plight. "I'm just happy that I didn't have to wear anything. You looked like a total dweeb!" His laughter made Gwen glare at him.

"Don't worry, Ben! I was a bit disappointed I wasn't able to dress you up for this one, but I'll definitely include you in the next one! I was thinking…cowboys!" Yukiko exclaimed, happily.

"C-cowboy…" Ben blanched.

"Hm? I think I'd look pretty good as a cowboy," Max said, unbothered by the plan.

"Now, I definitely want to see that," Gwen grinned, maliciously.

Ben slouched in his seat; despair written all over his face. "Aw man!"

Chapter End

NOTE: Scaring criminals never gets old. These two crooks were also one-offs, so don't expect them to make any form of a return.

Yukiko developed an obsession with wearing costumes from Yu always making the team wear different outfits whenever they went into the TV world.

Have a great day!
