Log 9: Storytime

Cover Image: Yukiko stood in front of the mirror, happily combing through her hair while humming a song. Next to her was Gwen, who was irritated that she couldn't get her hair correct. The girl's brush got stuck in her short orange locks.

"Just sit still, Ben!"

"No way! This is totally not fair!"

"Benjamin, just quit fidgeting so much!"

"Make me!"

"Oh, I'll make you, doofus!"

Yukiko raised her hand, stopping Gwen from approaching Ben. Currently, the heiress was sitting on a stool. She was dressed in a long white T-shirt and short black shorts; the heiress had her hair tied into a ponytail. In her hands was her black comb as she ran it through Ben's unruly hair. "This will go quicker if you quit fighting me, Ben!"

"How about you just leave my hair alone!?" Ben struggled out of her grip.

Gwen rolled her eyes. "Don't make this any harder than it needs to be, doofus! This is supposed to be a "relaxing day" for us." Gwen folded her arms; she was dressed in a blue T-shirt with dark blue shorts.

"I didn't agree to your impromptu spa day! Don't drag me into your girly hair stuff!" Ben spat.

"Don't be like that, Ben. This could prove to be a fun family activity to do once and a while," Max said. The grandpa was sitting back on the sofas, a towel wrapped around his wet hair.

Ben would've glared at his grandfather if Yukiko wasn't keeping him facing forward. He crossed his arms glaring at the space in front of him. All he wanted was to spend the day playing his games, but instead his dweeb of a cousin and famous cousin decided to drag him into another one of their ideas. "Tch, you're only saying that because you don't want to hurt their feelings."

"And you wouldn't mind hurting our feelings, Ben?" Yukiko gave him her puppy eyes. Her ultimate weapon made him flustered.

"N-no! But I-I just don't like any of this hair do stuff!" Ben looked away from her.

Yukiko giggled at Ben's reaction. "No need to worry, Ben. As soon as I'm finished combing through your hair we can get to washing it. Then you'll be good as new!"

Gwen smirked at Ben's relieved expression. "Maybe, we can paint your nails afterwards too."

"WHAT!? NO WAY!" Ben jumped up, almost knocking Yukiko off of her stool.

"Ben!" Yukiko glared at him.

The boy ignored her, glaring daggers at Gwen. "No way am I doing something as girly as painting my nails! No guy would ever agree to that!"

Yukiko coughed awkwardly, drawing her family's attention. "W-well…"

The RV was silent as the implications figured themselves out in their heads. "Y-Yukiko, did you paint a boy's nails before?"

The heiress awkwardly scratched her cheek. "Well, last year I had to dress Yu-kun up as a girl."

"For Halloween…right?" Ben asked, scared.

"It was during our school festival. Chie-chan signed the boys up for a cross dressing pageant, and I was in-charge of getting Yu-kun ready," Yukiko giggled at the memory.

Ben's entire face was green at the thought of having to participate in a cross-dressing pageant, even Max was taken back by it. Gwen wanted to break down in laughter from the thought of Ben dressed like a girl.

"Why would your school host that?" Max asked.

"Well, our homeroom sensei had petitioned the school for a beauty pageant, so that she could prove that she was better looking than all of the girls in the school," Yukiko explained, disgusted.

"Sounds like some had a fragile ego," Gwen huffed.

"She did, as a result Yosuke-kun signed us girls up for it without our permission," Yukiko felt her own irritation increase at the memory.

"Why would he do that?" Ben asked.

"Because he's a pervert."

"Oh, like you!" Ben exclaimed.

Yukiko's face shifted into a demonic glare that terrified the boy instantly. "Benjamin Tennyson! Just because my Persona doesn't have clothes doesn't mean that I'm like that!"

"Y-Yes, ma'am!" Ben apologized instantly.

"Ignoring the doofus that totally just wet his pants," Gwen laughed.

"I didn't!"

"Can you continue the story?" Gwen insisted.

Yukiko coughed into her hands, calming down. "Yes, I shall. In response to Yosuke-kun signing us up for it, Chie-chan decided to sign all of the boys up for the Cross-Dressing pageant."

"Why all of the boys though? Wouldn't this Yosuke be the only one who deserved it?" Max asked.

"Chie-chan doesn't always think things through. As much as I tried to convince her otherwise, she insisted that all of the guys had planned this with Yosuke-kun. So, the boys were all forcefully signed up for the pageant. On the first day of the festival, we spent a whole morning dressing the boys up as girls!" Yukiko retold the tale.

"Did she apologize to them or…?" Gwen raised an eyebrow.

"She apologized to Yu-kun and Kanji-kun. Not to Yosuke-kun though."

"Makes sense. Did he apologize to you guys?"

"He did after Chie-chan threatened to kick him," Yukiko answered.

"Who won?" Max asked.

"Teddie. Surprisingly, he makes a really pretty girl. He was very excited to participate in the pageant," Yukiko smiled.

"Heh, I bet we can make Ben a real pretty girl too," Gwen smiled evilly. The boy quickly reached for the Omnitrix.

"You better not, dweeb! Or I'm gonna use Stinkfly to goop up all of your new clothes!"

"You better not, doofus!" Gwen glared at him.

"I will if you don't-OW!" Ben yelped as Yukiko pulled the comb through his hair.

"Oops, sorry, Ben," Yukiko apologized. She finished combing through his hair and stood up from the stool. "Alright, let's get to washing!"

"Ugh, as long as you don't put me in some sort of dress!" Ben followed her into the bathroom.

"I won't, but I might paint yours and Grandpa's nails!" Yukiko giggled.

"Sure, though I'm not sure what color would look good on me," Max chuckled. Gwen sat down next to her grandfather.

"Don't worry, Grandpa. Just leave that to us!" Gwen smiled.

Ben just withered at the idea of having his nails painted. Though, knowing that neither of his cousins were going to budge at the idea, he just accepted reality. "Well, just paint them green."

"By the way, Yukiko. Who won the beauty pageant?" Gwen asked. She was busy painting her grandfather's nails a light red color.

Yukiko was placing the light green nail color onto Ben's fingernails; the boy was distracting himself with anything that was outside the window.

"Oh, Naoto-kun won that. She didn't even show up on stage," Yukiko answered.

That peaked Ben's interest. "Really? I'm surprised that you didn't win."

"Why?" Yukiko tilted her head.

"I don't know, it just feels wrong that you didn't win," Ben answered. His words filled Yukiko up with joy, the heiress put down the nail polish to envelop Ben in a tight hug.

"You think I'm pretty, Ben!?" Yukiko gushed happily. The boy struggled to break out of her grasp, his actions ended up staining her T-shirt with green nail polish.

"Let go of me! I didn't say that at all!" Ben yelled.

Max and Gwen broke into a laughing fit as Yukiko continued to squeeze Ben within a death grip.

NOTE: Dressing Ben up as a girl against his will is something that'll eventually happen. Won't say when, but it'll be pretty hilarious for me.
