Cover Image: Yukiko and her cousins sat on the Rustbucket's floor with an electric fan blowing air into their faces. Gwen sat between Yukiko's legs, both girls dressed in large white T-shirts, obviously belonging to Max. Ben laid down in front of them, his legs propped up on the couch cushions.

Yukiko stood in a grassy meadow as the wind blew gently around her. The heiress' dark hair blew softly with the wind as her eyes stared forward. She could see a smaller form in the distance, and it brought a small smile to her face.

In front of Yukiko was Ben, his back was turned to her. The boy's brown hair swayed in the wind, but it didn't bother him. He kept his attention on the sky above him, thoughts swirling within his head.
The way he raised his left arm, allowing the light of the sun to reflect off the Omnitrix; it reminded her of a silver haired teen.
Oh, withered flowers remember
What you wept for day after day
Rain littered the sky, lightly hitting the metal of the Rustbucket. Max continued his drive through the rain, using the windshield wipers to clear his vision.
Bloom into the beauty you once were
In your stream of tears, you're still wrought with pain
In the back of the RV, Ben played with his game system. He had his old headphone plugged into the device to listen to the in game sounds. Gwen sat across from him, her green orbs watching the rain splash across the glass window.

Yukiko stood at the stove with a pot of water boiling in front of her. She held a cookbook in one hand and a ladle in the other. She hummed softly as she did her best to follow the recipe, unknowingly adding in unnecessary things that turned the water's color to a deadly blackish purple.

Suddenly, the Rustbucket stopped, confusing Gwen and Yukiko. Ben was still distracted by his game to notice. Max peered outside of the mirror and saw that the rain started to let up, sunlight broke through the parting clouds and illuminated the world around them. Max parked the RV and called his grandkids over.

The Tennysons stepped out of the Rustbucket to gaze at the nature around them. Yukiko looked down to see Ben was still focused on his game, shaking her head Yukiko took the headphones off of his head. He complained until she pointed in the direction in front of them.

Ben's eyes widened as he saw the beauty of the wet nature in front of him. Noticing the animals crawling and fluttering outside now that the rain had stopped. A smile spread across his face as he stepped forward into the light of the newly brightened world.
Yukiko stared at him for a moment and she could've sworn she had seen another person standing in his place.

Yukiko blinked and suddenly she no longer stood with her family by the Rustbucket. The heiress found herself back in Inaba. Specifically, the table at Junes herself and her friends always sat at.

Bearing all of our shame
Looking around Yukiko saw all of her friends sitting there with her. Chie was busy trying to hold Yosuke back as he tried to reach for Teddie, the bear having done something to piss him off. Rise sat in between Kanji and Naoto; the idol had her arms intertwined with theirs as she bounced in her seat. Kanji tried to pry her off to no avail, while Naoto just accepted her fate as if this was normal.
The nights are restless

As long as there's hope, the flowers blossom
Yukiko realized that someone was missing from the table, turning around Yukiko saw the person she was looking for. His silver hair shined in the afternoon sunlight and his gray orbs locked onto her immediately. However, he wasn't alone; holding his hand was Nanako, who was excited to see all of them. The little girl released his hand and ran over to Yukiko, giving the heiress a giant hug.

Yu walked slowly over to his friends, greeting all of them. Rise was quick to release her hold on her fellow first years and leap into Yu's personal space. She wasn't alone in that as Teddie joined as well. Yosuke soon joined in, giving his partner a fist bump and Chie patted the young man on the back hard. Kanji grinned at his Senpai, sharing his own fist bump while Naoto gave him a greeting nod.

Time seemed to have slowed down as his eyes turned back to her. The heiress and hero locked gazes and suddenly everyone else disappeared. Within the space were just the two of them, slowly approaching one another.

Once the distance closed, Yukiko wrapped her arms around his body, resting her head on his shoulder. His stronger arms held her gently, swaying her softly like a lullaby. Yukiko smiled softly, not wanting this moment to end.

Much to her shock and disappointment he unwrapped his arms from her. Before she could say anything Yu pointed behind her. Yukiko turned around and gasped lightly at the sight in front of her.

Just a few feet away from her was the Rustbucket, standing in front of it were the Tennysons. The three of them were waving at her, telling the heiress to hurry up.
Yukiko turned around to see that Yu had also disappeared. Smiling softly at the spot he once stood at, Yukiko turned on her heels and sprinted back to her family.
Ready to begin another adventure, knowing that in time she'll see her friends again soon. Their affection to each other was the rope that tied them all together. And now she had three new people added into that knot that she'll always treasure.
