NOTE: Head canon of mine that Yukiko struggles to understand technology. Her number one biggest enemy other than cooking.

Review and Enjoy!

Log 11: Technology

Cover Image: Yukiko stared at Gwen's computer with a confused expression. The teenager repeatedly tapped the screen as if it was a touch screen.

Behind her was Gwen, who was face palming and Ben who was trying not to laugh.

"Yukiko, this isn't rocket science."

"I'm not trying to learn rocket science, Gwen."

"No…ugh!" Gwen cried in exasperation. The young girl was standing next to her cousin, who was trying to figure out how to rent a dvd from a Red Box. The family was currently stopping at a Walgreens to buy a few things. Gwen had suggested the family have a movie night to which Ben only went along with it as long as she didn't pick a 'girly' movie.

Their current predicament exists, because Yukiko had never seen a Red Box before and wanted to try and rent the DVD herself.

"Um…do I tap this?" Yukiko pressed the screen. She tried to scroll through the selections but ended up pressing the wrong movie.

"No, Yukiko! You have to slide your finger across!" Gwen exclaimed.

"Oh. Uh? I'll just back out again," Yukiko tried to back out, but the screen didn't change. Her frustrations grew. "Oh…what now!?"

Gwen pinched the bridge of her nose. "Yukiko, you didn't press it hard enough."

"Ah," The heiress blushed and tapped the screen a bit harder. The movie selections popped up, allowing Yukiko to finally scroll through it. However, she kept sliding through it too hard, constantly missing the movie they needed.

Gwen wanted to cry. "Yukiko, just let me do it."

The heiress shook her head. "No Gwen. I'm sure I can figure out this machine eventually. I had no idea that America had such complex machinery."

"It's not complex. You just lived out in the country for your entire life," Gwen snarked. The girl really couldn't believe that Yukiko's hometown had such little technology in it. According to Yukiko the most advanced technology present in her hometown was the superstore Junes.

The heiress placed her hands on her hips. "You don't need to be rude, Gwen."

"I wouldn't be if you would just listen!"

"I am listening. This thing is just confusing!"

"And you're the smartest of your class…" Gwen muttered. Honestly, that said more about her classmates than it does about Yukiko.

"What do you want me to do, Gwen?" Yukiko sighed.

"I want you to move over and just let me do it. We look stupid standing out here arguing about it," Gwen huffed.

"Well, if you want my honest opinion. You both look pretty stupid right now."

Perking up at the recognizable irritating voice, both girls slowly turned their heads back to the Red Box. Instead of its usual red color, it was now black with green circuitry lines running through it. An hourglass symbol was present in the middle of the machine with a green circular eye glowing at them.

They just stared at Upgrade for a solid minute. The wind softly blew past the three of them.

"What? Why are you two looking at me like that?" Upgrade asked.

"Were you bored?" Gwen asked, pity written on her face.

Upgrade's eye widened. "What!? Me? Bored!? Not possible!"

"Ben, yesterday you were so bored you decided to use empty chip bags as plastic airplanes. Then turned into Diamondhead to shoot them down," Yukiko reminded him.

"The day before that you used my bracelets as makeshift dominos," Gwen added.

Upgrade was sweating at their accusations. "That proves nothing-"

Max walked out of the store. "Hey, girls, have you seen Ben?" He looked over and stopped. He stared at Upgrade. "Were you bored, Ben?"

"Why does everyone keep thinking I was bored!?"

WHEEE! WHEEE! WHEEE! WHEEE!

The Tennysons turned to the street, noticing the police chasing down a runaway vehicle. Upgrade looked back at his family and sighed. "Okay, maybe I was bored." He defused from the Red Box and merged with an empty parked car. "And now I've found an even better cure for it!" Upgrade revved the engine, taking off after the police chase.

Max turned to the girls. "Better not let him get too far of a head start!" Max rushed to the Rustbucket.

"And here I was hoping for a normal afternoon," Gwen sighed. She looked back at Yukiko to see the heiress was still fiddling with the Red Box. "Yukiko, come on!"

Suddenly, a disk flew out of the machine and into the heiress' hands. "I got it! I finally figured it out!" Yukiko jumped in happiness.

Gwen took a glance at the packaged disk in Yukiko's hands. The girl's eyes darkened when she saw the DVD. "THAT'S STILL THE WRONG ONE!"
