NOTE: I honestly like the length of these logs being short. They're just mini snippets on Yukiko and the Tennysons outside of the main story. Though, if you guys want a longer one then just let me know. Some of these suggestions are gonna take a longer length than most.

Log 14: Theater Quest

Cover Image: Yukiko and Ben were sitting next to each other inside of the theater. Both of them were wearing 3D glasses. Ben had jumped at something that had happened on screen, spilling his popcorn on Yukiko.

"Oh, can we see this one!?" Ben pointed at the poster in front of him. Max walked over to his grandson to see what he was pointing at. He took a moment to examine the image and details of the poster before giving Ben a look.

"No, Ben. You're too young to see this movie," Max said, much to Ben's displeasure.

Yukiko tilted her head at it. "Zombie Quest 3: Return of the Apocalypse? Sounds funny." The image of the poster was lined up with zombies attacking the group of humans she assumed were the main characters of the film.

"Not sure what part of the zombie apocalypse sounds funny to you, but I shouldn't question it," Gwen shook her head. "Anyway, something like this is sure to give you nightmares, doofus."

Ben rolled his eyes. "Please! I'm not some baby that gets nightmares over stuff like this."

"You had a nightmare after playing some zombie game with Ken."

"That was a long time ago!"

"It was last year…"

Max just patted Ben on the shoulder. "Either way, Ben, you'll just have to deal with it. We're here to see a more family friendly movie." The mention of the actual film his family was going to see brought a groan to his lips.

Gwen, however, was delighted. She immediately brought their attention to the poster that was next to Zombie Quest. "Princess Rescue 3: The Kingdom United!" The poster was bright pink with a blonde-haired princess on the front. She was standing side by side with a young man, who was dressed as a prince, the two of them facing off with a rival kingdom. "It's the final part of the Princess Rescue trilogy and I've been dying to see it!"

"You're dying!?"

Gwen ignored Yukiko. "I've had to ignore every forum site possible to avoid spoilers, but now I don't have to worry about it! I've finally made it!"

Ben grumbled. "I can't wait to watch some dumb princess movie about friendship and love," He spat sarcastically.

"Suck it up, doofus! Don't ruin this for me!"

Yukiko hummed nervously. "I've never seen the previous two. Is it okay for me to watch this?"

Gwen turned on her heels. "Don't worry, Yukiko. I can give you a quick synopsis of the story before the movie starts."

Max nodded his head. "C'mon, kids. Let's hurry and check in before the movie starts."

"How many people are here to see this dumb movie?" Ben gazed around the long concession line. It had been 5 minutes since they had gotten their tickets and had been standing in line for snacks. At the same time, he's had to listen to Gwen drabble on to Yukiko about Princess Rescue.

Gwen paused in her explanation to glare at Ben. "Just because you don't like it doesn't make it dumb, Ben."

"Keep that same attitude when it comes to things I like."

"We have been standing here for a while. Are we going to make it in time for the movie?" Yukiko wondered.

"Then there's also the process of finding our seats while we're at it," Gwen added.

Max pulled out his wallet. "Here, Yukiko. You kids buy the snacks and I'll go find our seats before the movie starts. Should make this easier."

Ben's ears perked up at his grandfather's idea. Looking back up at the screens, Ben saw that Zombie Quest had already started. He could use this chance to catch at least part of the movie. "Grandpa, I can go do that."

His sudden interest wasn't without suspicions from his family. "You will?"

"Yup."

"You want to go grab our seats for the movie you don't want to see?" Gwen raised an eyebrow.

"Yes."

"Why?"

"Grandpa has bigger arms than me. He has a much better chance at holding the snacks than I do," Ben answered. His family had to admit that Ben had a point.

"You aren't just using this as a chance to sneak into that zombie movie, are you?" Yukiko narrowed her eyes.

Ben shook his head. "Nope! My sneaking into places phase is done with Ghostfreak gone. You guys have nothing to worry about."

Max decided to have a little faith in Ben. "Alright, Ben. Here's a ticket, go find our seats and wait for us there. No other detours unless it's to use the bathroom, got it?" Max handed Ben one of the tickets.

Ben puffed out his chest. "Trust me, Grandpa. I'll be on my best behavior!" Ben walked off to their assigned theater. His family watched him closely as Ben turned the corner.

Gwen spoke first. "He's going to sneak into that movie, isn't he?"

"Oh yeah."

"Definitely."

Gray Matter peaked around the corner, hiding behind some trash bins. He ducked back down when more people approached his direction. Once it was clear, Gray Matter snuck through the hallway as quickly as he could. He had to hurry or else he would miss Zombie Quest. At the same time, he knew he'd be in for a lecture once his family saw him gone. "Heh, it'll be worth it as long as I get to see Zombie Quest-AH!"

Gray Matter was stopped by a broom sweeping him into a dustpan. The employee hadn't even noticed him, too busy listening to his headphones. The clerk picked up the dustpan, swinging it around as if it was a microphone.

The Galvan cried out as the disgusting crumbs of garbage were tossed into his face. Gagging in disgust, Gray Matter tried to climb his way out only for the dustpan to shake again, sending him back to the bottom of it.

His cries were going unheard as the clerk continued to horrendously sing the lyrics to a song by a Japanese pop idol. Not that Gray Matter cared about the music in the first place, but the horrible voice was making this humiliating experience worse.

His troubles only increased as he was dumped into a trash bin, buried in all of the garbage. He attempted to move, but once the bag was lifted out of the trash bin there was very little, he could do about it. His large eyes searched around for a way out of this mess. "There has to be something I can do. Hm?" Looking a bit closer, Gray Matter noticed a tiny slit in the bag. "There!"

Placing his finger inside of the slit, Gray Matter tore it open. Causing a flood of smelly trash to fall to the ground with him along with it. The Galvan hopped across the floor of the storage room to quickly make his escape. He was lucky that the dumb clerk still hadn't noticed that the bag had torn, his music was just too loud.

His only other obstacle now was the large double doors that were closed. Not seeing anything that could help him pull the doorknob, he did see a vent by the door. Smirking at his getaway, Gray Matter hurried to the vent.

Nothing was going to stop him from seeing Zombie Quest now!

Ben quietly snuck into the theater, luckily managing to find an open seat to take. Giggling to himself at his successful mission, Ben leaned back to enjoy the film. From the looks of it the movie seemed to be at its climax. The main characters were locked into a life and death battle against a monstrous looking zombie. The creature reminded him a bit of Dr. Amino's bizzarro creations. "Heh, this isn't scary at all. Can't wait to rub it in Gwen's face that I wasn't scared of some dumb zombie-"

"OH…OH GOD! JAKE-JAKE IT'S GOT MY LE-EEGGGAAAAAAA!"

Ben winced at the sight of the appendage getting brutally ripped from the character's body. Blood was spewing out of the wound, the guy was screaming his head off in pain. The hero felt his stomach twist at the sight, but he didn't let it deter him at all. It was fake after all-

"GRAAAAAAAAH!" The zombie monster roared as it raised the severed leg into the air.

His mind froze. "Wait. That thing isn't going to-" Ben couldn't even finish the thought as the zombie began bashing the guy with his own severed leg. Screams of anguish echoed into Ben's ears as he watched the unnaturally realistic looking carnage take place in front of him. As much as he wanted to close his eyes and look away, the boy's stubborn pride wouldn't let him. "I…can handle it…I can handle it…I can-"

That was until the next main character was literally ripped in half with no censorship at all. Giving Ben a complete and full look at the devastating and bloody death.

Yukiko sipped on her water as she watched the movie along with Max and Gwen. So far it had been pretty enjoyable to watch, she could see why Gwen enjoyed it so much. The Princess herself wasn't a damsel in distress as most stories tended to write them. And the Prince was treating her as an equal with a pretty nice romance between the two of them. Yukiko was certain that if she had seen the previous two movies beforehand, the romance would've had her enamored even more. In fact, both of these characters reminded her of something, but she couldn't exactly put her finger on it.

Yukiko was about to take a bite out of her popcorn when something clutched onto her arm with lightning speed. The heiress had to adjust her grip on the bowl or else it would've spilled onto Gwen. Looking over to see who had grabbed her, Yukiko saw Ben. His body was shaking slightly, and his eyes weren't very focused at all. If anything, the poor boy looked scared out of his mind.

Suppressing a giggle, Yukiko shook her head. "Guess that movie scared him after all. Maybe this'll teach him a lesson about sneaking off on his own." Deciding to comfort her baby cousin, Yukiko released herself from his grip. She pushed the arm rest back, so that she could pull him in closer. Ben didn't try to fight the embrace and snuggled into her side.

For Yukiko, the movie's enjoyment had just increased 10-fold.

Log End

NOTE: Not much could've been done with the Gray Matter section, I just needed something to fill some space in this log.

Also, yes, the employee was listening to Risette.
