A knock at Rhea's bedroom door is what arouses her from sleep the next morning. She rolls over to feel her muscles protesting as a result from the fight at Griddy's last night. It had been a while since she'd had a proper work out, so she makes a mental note to go to the gym later. If the world was ending, she needed to stretch out her muscles more, otherwise she'd be useless in their attempt to stop it.
The bedside digital clock beside her reads 9:30am. "Come in," Rhea calls, which turns out to be pointless because the door is already opening and Allison steps in wearing a white striped shirt and bright orange pants. Rhea regards her own plain, dark outfit - the two adoptive sisters couldn't be any more opposite in fashion styles if they tried.
"Sorry, I just had to get away from Luther and you're the only other person up here," Allison says as she takes the stool at Rhea's dressing table.
"By all means, come in. It's about time I woke up anyway." Rhea yawns and sits up to rub her eyes.
"Late night?"
"Something like that. What's Luther done now?" Rhea asks as she turns on her radio with the volume loud - but not too intrusive - to wake herself up a bit, Goody Two Shoes by Adam Ant starts playing.
"Oh, Luther's being Luther. He's suspecting Dad's death wasn't an accident and trying to turn it into a mission."
"Ah, yes. Very Luther. Give him a break though - he has just come back from four years on the moon. He's probably just trying to give himself a purpose, I guess," Rhea shrugs and begins to look through her old closet for a fresh outfit she hadn't slept in.
"I suppose. But Dad's gone now, so we should all just move on and return to normal. Not go around chasing after answers that aren't there. Besides, I need to see Claire - I've been away from her for far too long already."
"Must be nice to have a family to go back to," Rhea comments, pulling out a black velvet and lace corset style top. Thinking that will do, she shuts the closet door to start rummaging through her chest of draws to find a decent pair of jeans.
"I didn't mean it like that…" Allison frowns. "You know, you probably would have had that with Diego by now," she prompts.
"Ha. Diego and I would never have worked out. It was just a teen fling that ran its course."
"Well yeah, it would have been a bit weird when he turned 50 and was dating a 16 year old…" Allison quips.
Rhea spins around to face Allison and crosses her arms, "Hey, you know that wasn't the only reason Diego and I broke up!"
"Okay, okay, relax. Sorry," Allison raises her hands in surrender, "I just think it's a shame, that's all. You guys were just so good together and seemed to be so in love."
"Yeah, well. That was a long time ago. So…" Rhea laments, her anger defusing so she resumes her jeans search.
To try apologising, Allison says, "You know I have a great pair of burgundy skinny jeans that will really compliment that shirt. Please let me add some colour to your wardrobe by giving them too you?"
Rhea nods, knowing that her sister probably meant well, "Sure."
Allison sequels at her reply, like she's the teenager in the room, and claps her hands together. "That's great," she says and then practically bounces up and off towards her bedroom.
As soon as Allison's out the room, Rhea's closet doors burst open and Five walks out as if this was a completely normal way to enter a room. Rhea is so startled, she gasps heavily in shock.
"You dated Diego!?" Five questions quietly through gritted teeth, although Rhea doesn't hear him as her heart is pumping too loudly and there's a ringing in her ears from the fright.
"Crap, Five! What the hell are you doing in there? You could have given me a heart attack!"
"Rhea, are you, ok? Did you say something?" Allison's voice grows louder as she approaches from the hallway back towards Rhea's room.
Five instantly spatial jumps away after hearing Allison speak, but Rhea doesn't follow him as she's too busy trying to calm her rapid heartbeat. Recovering her expression to look of like one of indifference so Allison doesn't think she's gone crazy, Rhea smiles as the blonde re-enters, "I'm fine. Just nearly tripped on my rug is all."
Allison gives her clumsy sister a strange look at first, but courteously moves on, "Okay, so what do you think of these?" She holds up the pair of jeans.
To be fair to her, they actually looked pretty nice.

After playing dress up and agreeing that Allison could style her hair after she called the airport to book a flight, Rhea teleports downstairs to get herself some breakfast.
Klaus is already in the kitchen when Rhea enters and he's eating dry cereal with his hands straight from the box.
"Why, hello little sister. How are you this fine morning?" He beams and sits himself down at the head of the table.
Heading straight to the fridge to see what's in there, Rhea responds, "Surprisingly, better than you by the looks of it. Do you have to walk around here in your underwear?"
"The question should be: why isn't everyone else walking around here in their underwear?" he chuckles.
"Gross," Rhea replies and gives up searching in the fridge to settle on making toast. Her morning agitation is increasing further from remembering there's no coffee in this damned house.
Klaus abandons his cereal box and gets up from his seat to stand next to Rhea, unable to sit still.
"Have you ever thought about what that poison is doing to your body? Look at you – you can't stop fidgeting." Rhea knows asking him will be a waste of time like usual, but she can't help but be worried for him. Smiling was always Klaus' way of ignoring a question, which he proudly does like she predicted he would.
"Have you ever thought about using your powers to make Five older? He's clearly having size issues right now and wouldn't it be interesting to find out if he'll grow up to be a hottie or not?" Klaus asks, smile widening as he steals her second piece of toast that's just popped out of the toaster. He's suffering from the munchies it seems.
"First of all, ew. How is determining if Five will be hot or not on your mind?" she raises the hand she's been buttering her first slice of toast with to silence Klaus as begins to open his mouth, "Actually, no, don't answer that. Second, I can't. You know I've never been able to change a whole body other than my own before. A person's limb or two is easy when you're making them really old or really young. But, aging someone's whole body and so it's on a specific place the timeline correctly? No way. I don't think that's even possible for me to do," Rhea concludes and takes a bite of her now buttered toast.
"Pity, we will just have to wait till he grows up again," he huffs dramatically, and then lights up again. "I guess it's not so bad, you'll be able to just grow up together."
Rhea nearly chokes on the mouthful she's been chewing. She coughs to dislodge the blockage before she rasps, "What's that supposed to mean?"
"Oh, come now, little sister, surely you can see the way he looks at you? My, I only need to be in the same room as the two of you and I can smell the teenage angst and sexual tension," Klaus cackles as he mock waltzes back to the table with his toast.
She stares at him in disgust and disbelief, "You're barmy. He's a thirteen year old kid for crying out loud! You need stop drinking alcohol in the mornings, Klaus - it's really not good for you," she reprimands and resumes eating her toast again.
Klaus speaks directly to his still whole piece of toast, "I thought he said he was 58?" He then holds it to his ear for a few seconds as if listening to it, "Yes, you're right. That dirty ol' bastard is perving on our little sister."
She shakes her head and gives him no attention in favour of her own thoughts; Poor, Klaus, just more evidence his last stint in rehab was a waste of time…
Just before she is able to ask Klaus what his plans for the day are, Five appears in the doorway.
"I need you both to do me a favour," Five states.
"Sure, little brother. How much are you offering?"
"Seriously? You want money" Five asks incredulously.
"Favours aren't cheap," Klaus chirps.
"What do you want us to do?" Rhea pipes up, guessing it has to do with the upcoming apocalypse if he's asking Klaus for help.
"I need you both to come to MeriTech prosthetics with me. The jerks won't take me seriously. I need you to act as my guardians and make them give me the information I need."
Rhea raises her eyebrows at him, "You want me to look older - after everything I told you last night?"
"Ohhh last night, eh?" Klaus starts wiggling his eyebrows and looks at Rhea with an 'I knew it' look.
"Klaus, shut up!" The two teens shout at the same time which only makes Klaus snigger even more.
"Klaus just go put on some professional clothes and I'll pay you later," Five orders, then tilts his head to the side to relieve a crick in his neck - a habit of his when he was frustrated.
"Yes, Sir." Klaus stomps his right foot, stands straight and gives Five a mock salute, before he saunters towards the door. As he brushes past Rhea, he whispers, "smell that tension." Rhea reaches out to shove him on the shoulder, but he glides away too fast for her and laughs whilst he exits.
"Older huh?" Rhea puts her hands on her hips and looks across to Five, "Do you really need two of us to do this?"
"Do you want to find out who the glass eye belongs to and help me save the world or not?" Five mimics her pose, watching her as her head buzzes in thought.
For god's sake, this bloody kid – no, not kid, old man – whatever. He will be the death of me! I guess only Klaus will see it, so that's not so bad… make up will also cover it a bit...
Rhea deliberates for a moment longer before she answers him, "Fine, I'll help you. But only if you promise to explain about Griddy's and what the hell you were doing in my closet. Don't think I've forgotten about that either."
"What is it with this 'family' always wanting something in return? It's the end of the freaking world we're talking about, for crying out loud!" He raises his arms in despair.
Rhea begins to rapidly tap her foot, waiting for him to agree. He watches her tapping it as he ponders, then smirks, "Deal – but only if you tell me about Diego."
That hypocritical little fuc- brat. He was listening! "Fine. Whatever. Deal," she snarls. She then steps back into her green flash to get away from him before she couldn't resist the urge to throttle him.

Since Klaus was loudly rattling around his bedroom still looking for clothes, Rhea walks into Allison's room ready to make good on her promise.
"Hey Sis. Are you here for your hair appointment?"
"Yup and if you want, you can also do my makeup too - but nothing too over the top! Just something that would suit me if I was to be older," Rhea says offhandedly as she sits down at the dressing table.
Allison beams before she retrieves her curlers and makeup bag from her suitcase.
"Oh, I've been waiting so long to hear you say those words! I love you Sis, but the Goth-Punk look and heavy black eyeliner really need to go. It's not the early noughties anymore." Allison sing-songs her last few words and begins to rummage through her products while the curlers heat up.
"Hey, don't be jealous. If I could make you look younger, I know you'd ask me to do it one day," Rhea jokes and Allison pulls a mock offended face.
"I'll have you know that I'm perfectly happy with my looks right now… But yeah, maybe give me a few years and I'll rumour you to make your powers to work better and do it," she laughs. "Now hold still and stop squirming, this shade will look great on you."

For Rhea, a one hour makeover felt like a life time. However, she had to admit as she looked at herself in her bedroom mirror that Allison had done a pretty good job. Her usual poker-straight red hair was made sleek and shiny by Allison's products and was twisted up into an elegant knot at the back of her head with a few loose, long curls trailing over one shoulder to not make it look too formal. Her makeup was light and minimal; the rose pink blush brought out her features and the mascara elongated her eyelashes much nicer than Rhea's cheaper brand ever did.
Rhea knew Vanya was in the house because she had heard her calling out for her and Five earlier. Thankfully Five flashed down to Rhea before Vanya had found him to say he would cover for her by telling Vanya that she had gone out for coffee. He then flashed back to his room just as quickly as he appeared. She hated that he was lying to Vanya, but she knew it would put Vanya at risk to be involved with Five right now, especially since he had thuggish assassins after him.
Recognising Vanya's light footsteps descending the stairs before she started to talk to Allison, Rhea knew it was time to use her powers and 'grow up'. Right, here we go… gosh, this will be the first time I've seen my true face in a long time...
As she painlessly grew from adolescent to adult, her body fills out a bit more and her shirt becomes a little tighter because, naturally, her breasts were now a little bigger. Thankfully, that was easily rectified by adjusting the criss cross lacing in the centre of her shirt - the fabric was already stretchy so it wasn't much effort to loosen the lace a little. Allison's jeans also still fit her - she just had to remove the belt her 16 year old size needed to keep them sitting on her waist. Satisfied the makeup covered her scar enough that it was just a thin raised line, Rhea takes a deep breath before she picks up her leather jacket and spatial jumps upstairs to outside Five's bedroom.
Just as she steps onto the landing from out of her energy field, Five emerges from his room with Klaus trailing after him whining, "As long as I get paid..."
"When the job is done," Five barks back at him, before he stops dead in his tracks when he sees Rhea nervously standing by the banister.
"Okay, but just so we're clearrrr Rhea? Hey, not so little sister! Oh, look at you. You look…" Klaus is so stunned to see her looking like her real age that he pauses to think of the right word.
"-Hideous, right? I should just not go - you guys go on without me. You don't even need me there - I'll catch up with you later." The words tumble from her lips so fast and her thoughts yell, why did I do this, I knew it was a dumb idea.
She turns to leave but Klaus speaks up, "You look exquisite, sister. Don't go. I just didn't expect the full makeover is all." He gestures at her by waving his hand up and down as he speaks, then breezes over and turns her to face him by gently holding her biceps. "Honestly, you should keep this look, it works. She looks scrumptious, doesn't she, Five?"
Klaus gives her a hug and Rhea can't help but peek over at Five from behind Klaus' shoulder. The teen still hadn't said a word and was just watching them, hands in his pockets, with the same unreadable expression he had when she first revealed her scar to him.
Klaus releases Rhea and asks Five, "So, we just gotta go into this place and pretend to be your dear old dad and mom, correct?"
Rhea jumps in, " - Aunt. No way can Five and I pass as blood relatives, I'm far too pale..."
"Yeah. Something like that," Five finally voices.
"What's our cover story?"
"What? What are you talking about?" Five skeptically questions his brother.
"I mean, was I really young when I had you?" Klaus looks to Rhea for inspiration, "Like 16? Like, young and terribly misguided?" He places his hands on his chest for a 'woe is me' effect.
"Sure."
"Your mother, that slut - whoever she was - we met at… the disco. My dear bestie here helped me raise you – that's why you call her Auntie - and I had such a hard time as a poor but deviously handsome, single parent," he smiles smugly as if this was some genius idea, then snickers, "Okay? Remember that."
Five and Rhea both passively nod, ready to move on, but Klaus snaps his fingers and continues, "Oh, my God, the sex was amazing."
"Christ, Klaus, seriously?!" Rhea protests.
"What a disturbing glimpse into that thing you call a brain," Five retorts and walks past Rhea determined not to look at her.
"Don't make me put you in time-out." Klaus waggles his finger at his brother as he follows after him. He pulls Rhea's hand along with him and she reluctantly follows.
"Sooo… Did you notice?"
"Notice what, Klaus?"
"That Five couldn't take his eyes off you. Your transformation is just more proof you will be a pair of hotties when you get together."
"Seriously, Klaus? Not this nonsense again," Rhea scoffs as they walk through the house arm in arm. Five had powered off ahead so Klaus leads them to wherever their destination is at his usual leisurely pace.
"It's not nonsense at all, sister mine. He may travel to the future, but I can see it," he replies dreamily.
"Klaus, no offence, but all you can see is dead people and even then, you poison yourself to make them go away. Stop thinking your drug induced delusions are real."
Klaus just looks at her, so she continues in a whisper, "Besides, Five doesn't even care about me, he's only keeping me around because he thinks I'm a spy, remember?"
"-Ben agrees with me. He thinks you will be a great couple."
"Ben could be saying anything and I don't trust you as an honest translator right now, I'm afraid," Rhea counters.
Klaus lifts a hand to his mouth and dramatically gasps as if he's highly offended, "not so little sister, how could you say such a thing?" But he soon shows a toothy grin and proclaims, "Well believe it or not - your choice. I'm just passing on the message."
"Well thanks, Ben – but you're barking up the wrong tree. I'm not perverted, thank you very much."
Klaus is silent for a few steps as he looks behind them to listen to whatever Ben supposedly had to say.
Rhea's happy Ben is always there to keep Klaus entertained (even if it's at her expense), but she's also gutted she can't see or hear him herself to get his actual opinion. Ben, while always quite quiet, was very wise and observant for his age.
"He says, when you fall for someone's personality, everything about them becomes beautiful."
Rhea bursts into laughter and fake hurls, "oh god, gag, guys! Where did you get that rubbish from?" Klaus joins in with her laughter and the two reach the floor where Mr Hargreeves' bedroom was.
"Our cellmate at that god awful place had a daily book of quotes, to help him stay 'positive'. The eejit would read one aloud. Every. Single. Day. Ben remembered that one, the dope."
"What a load of bollocks," Rhea declares and the pair continue to giggle, huddled together as they enter Hargreeves' room.
Rhea had missed this. Spending time with Klaus and having a real laugh with someone. It had been such long time since she laughed like this with him. If they do manage to stop the world ending, Rhea vows to help Klaus stay sober permanently, whether he likes it or not. Every Hargreeves sibling had tried over the years in one way or another, but the little bugger always managed to get sucked back into it or resist aid. Although her business and partner were based in London, she loved Klaus more, so this time she wasn't going to leave again until he got sober – work be damned.
Five was standing before them looking impatient and pissed that the two 'adults' in the room were laughing and not taking the situation seriously. He'd already laid an outfit across the bed for Klaus to put on and his hands were stuffed in his pockets as usual whilst he watches them enter.
Five's eyebrow lifts when Rhea's phone rings and his brow furrows when she doesn't answer it again.
"We haven't got all day…" he reprimands as the pair continue to giggle.
"Relax, little Five. Daddy's here now."
