Chapter 2

Mario, his brother Luigi, and Yoshi have finally reached the era of 17th century England. Mario was astounded by all its historic sites and boats docked at the ports. Then, Greil followed them through the time machine to the same exact era.

"Greil?" Mario asked. "How did you find us?"

"It comes down to when someone does not reset the time machine." Greil said.

"But–" Mario said.

"No buts, Mario." Ike said to Mario. "Let's start exploring around this historic port."

"Let's-a go!" Mario said. Everyone later started exploring the heart of the past times of England.

Back with Bowser, he was busy having his first ever pirate battle with Captain Gawain. It was a battle between the ship Fire Flame and a fierce pirate ship called Pinto. This ship was home to evil pirates looking for the same exact treasure as Bowser. However, they had different plans. After Bowser had heard that the pirates of the Pinto ship wanted money and treasures from rich families, he hired the pirate crew to be on his side. This caused the overthrowing of a young pirate of the Pinto named Santa Mary. When she was forced to walk the plank, she had been pushed off the ship by her new captains, which were Gawian and Bowser. Santa Mary knew she had to be saved. Luckily, she was noticed by Mario and his friends, who noticed her almost drowning. Yoshi then found out that he can fly with the help of magical wings, and flew to rescue Santa Mary.

"Th-thank you…" Santa Mary said to Yoshi. "You're awfully kind people… I… I almost drowned."

"We must nurse you back to health first." the priest of the Greil Mercenaries Rhys said. "Mist, will you nurse this fine lady back to health?" Rhys asked Mist.

"Yes, Rhys." Mist responded. Mist then proceeded to use her Mend staff to heal and nurse Santa Mary back to proper health.

"Wow! Magic, huh? Impressive work, young woman!" Santa Mary said. "Tell me, what is your name?"

"Me?" Mist asked. "Oh, uh… My name is Mist."

"That is a fine name." Santa Mary said. "My name is Santa Mary. And if you must know, I have a huge problem that must be addressed right away." Mario then asked Santa Mary what he and his friends can do for her.

"This spikey, green-shelled turtle… he took my ship's pirates away, and now I have to fight them." Santa Mary explained. "They have all betrayed me…" Mario knew who was responsible for this course of action. It was Bowser

"You know him?" Santa Mary asked Mario.

"Yes." Mario said. "We are heroes of the gaming world known as the Nintendo planet. And Luigi and I are the Mario Brothers."

"You are the Mario Brothers? The Super Mario Brothers?! No way!" Santa Mary asked. "Then that means you can help me!"

"Well, that depends on what Bowser is doing." Luigi said.

"Describe it to us, Santa Mary." Greil ordered. "Describe what had happened to you."

"OK." Santa Mary said to Greil. "I will explain what happened. When our ship Pinto was noticed by this Bowser person, he had this strange Welsh pirate captain give orders to me. Those orders were for me to walk the plank and drown in the sea."

"That sounds cruel and terrible, Santa Mary." Yoshi said.

"I know–wait a second…You can talk?!" Santa Mary noticed.

"Yeah! My name is Yoshi!" Yoshi introduced himself.

"It's a delight to meet you, Yoshi. You seem kind of cute." Santa Mary said to Yoshi.

"Thank you, Santa Mary!" Yoshi said as he thanked Santa Mary. Mario then reminded everyone that they had an enemy to stop, and that there was no time for any socializing. Then, the adventure to find out where Bowser was began to emerge. Mafrio was hoping that the future would not be affected by Bowser.

Back with Bowser, meanwhile, the pirate ships Fire Flame and Pinto were sailing together back to the port in England. There, Bowser was going to go on a robbing rampage where he and Captain Gawain would steal treasure from rich English families. Bowser and Captain Gawian started with the Adamson Family first. The Adamsons were a wealthy family with three children whose father was a brave war hero who fought in a fierce battle. When Bowser and Captain Gawain broke into their home, however, the duo demanded the money and the jewelry. The father, whose name was Jacob, attempted to scram Bowser and the Welsh pirate captain out of their humble home. However, Bowser and Captain Gawain managed to escape with their money and jewels. Then, Bowser demanded that the house be burned down, as the people were considered a misbelief to outsiders, according to Bowser. Using his fiery breath, Bowser was the one who burned the roof of the house. Luckily for the Adamsons, they were alive and they survived the fierce fire, but they were now poor. Jacob's wife was shocked, and the children were crying for their lives.

"Damned pirates!" Jacob shouted. "And damned bastard outsiders!" he later exclaimed. Soon, the family was noticed by Mario and his friends.

"Hey, is something the matter?" Mario asked the family.

"Do you know that pirate with the red spikey hair and the green spikey shell?" Jacob asked Mario.

"That… that's Bowser!" Mario exclaimed. "Mamma-mia!"

"Is there something that he did?" Santa Mary asked. "I mean, I just got to know him from Mario here when he told me about him being a swashbuckling pirate on the high seas." Jacob later explained everything to the crew about what was going on.

"Oh, no!" Mist shouted.

"Oh, that's terrible…" the mage Soren of the Greil Mercenaries said.

"I know." Jacob's daughter said. "He even burned our house down!"

"What?!" Santa Mary said in a shocked manner. Mario asked Jacob if anyone else was with Bowser.

"Well, there was this Welsh pirate captain who was wearing a black frock coat, red bandana, and a black pirate's hat." Jacob described.

"That's the captain who threw me off the Pinto!" Santa Mary exclaimed. "I think he went by the name of Gawain…"

"Wow, Bowser… he's really done it this time." Mario said.

"Yes, he has." Greil thought. "Together, we must bring him down!" Jacob reminded the crew that he would have to come with them.

"Are you skilled in battle, sir?" Mario asked Jacob.

"Sir, you are talking to Sir Jacob Adamson! Fairest of the English army! The one who has served in armies across the land!" Jacob reminded Mario. "And you… heh… you are just… outsiders from the present, aren't you…"

"We are, as a matter of fact." Mario said to Jacob. "We are the people of the Mushroom Kingdom, while these people are the Greil Mercenaries of Crimea in Tellius. I know you don't know what I am talking about, but still. There is no time to explain who we are as heroes!"

"That is correct, Mario." the knight Gatrie of the Greil Mercenaries said. "We have to find Bowser and track him down so that the Adamson family can buy a new house!"

"You have your point, young man." Jacob's wife said. She later spoke with her husband, reminding him to be careful out there in the heart of England.

"No problem, honey." Jacob said. "I will be sure to be safe out there." Soon, the adventure to find out where Bowser and Captain Gawain were really began with a good recruit. Mario was already off to a good start.
