Tree branches rustle around them, the ominous whispering of their leaves too loud in the clearing that Andy finds herself standing in alongside Inuyasha, Kagome, and the demons across from them. She's still between Inuyasha and the nonhuman that had once taken the form of his mother, glaring at her friend's older brother, and pointedly ignoring the enraged squawking of "Foolish wench!" and other such epithets from the little demon who had attempted to burn her alive just moments before. There's no point in trying to delude herself into thinking he was looking to kill all three of them, though she's certain it would have been seen as a happy result, because Inuyasha still serves a purpose and Andy's the one that decided to get snide with the demon in white. So, yes, it's pretty clear to everyone that Andy was the one being attacked, she was the one the littlest demon had meant to kill, which is amusing in its own way... but not amusing enough for Andy not to want to bash his face against her knee.
Across the clearing her aunt Phoebe's look alike shrieks as the larger demon curls his fist tighter around her body, the tips of his nails breaking through the skin but surprisingly causing no blood to stain the beautiful kimono that Inuyasha's mother had been wearing, but her body does begin to crumble apart in his grasp. When she finally stops moving the demon drops her onto the ground where she lands in a heap of broken body parts and pink silk. It doesn't move to get up, doesn't move to pull itself back together, and after a few moments Andy forces herself to look away from the image of her aunt's mutilated body. She'll give Sesshomaru this; he knows how to hit a person where it hurts most.
A hand curls around her wrist and Andy allows Kagome to pull her back a few steps until she and Inuyasha are standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Kagome tucked against her other side. Kagome never truly releases her hold on Andy but her grip does loosen a bit, enough for Andy to rip herself away if necessary. Pressed between her two friends Andy feels a little less exposed but it doesn't make her feel any safer because Sesshomaru is still watching her, eyes flickering between a growling Inuyasha and a, hopefully, stony faced Andy. With Sesshomaru watching her that means it's possible the other two demons are watching her as well, which is nerve wracking in and of itself for many different reasons. Eyes flicking to the smallest demon of the group opposite them Andy wonders if he has any more tricks up his sleeve or if fire is his preferred method of murdering a person. If it is she doubts he'll attempt to burn them alive again as it's pretty clear he won't succeed.
"Inuyasha," Sesshomaru calls and his tone is pleased, "I know where it is now."
"Sesshomaru!"
Andy honestly doesn't see Sesshomaru move, one second he's standing on the shoulder of the demon that had killed her aunt's image and the next he's not Inuyasha lifted up into the air by his neck. With his attention focused entirely on Inuyasha and Kagome safe behind her, Andy takes a moment to observe Inuyasha's brother. She's not shocked to find that he's attractive, because Inuyasha's attractive and they are brothers, but she hadn't been expecting him to look like this. Where Inuyasha is shorter and is built on a sturdier frame Sesshomaru is taller and leaner, his hair is longer and appears a little better kept than Inuyasha's, his eyes are colder, and his aristocratic features are painted with double strips of maroon at the cheekbones that contrast prettily with his paler skin and the blue crescent moon resting at the center of his forehead. In short, he's really pretty and Andy's certain if he weren't currently harassing her new best friend she'd be willing to see if she could get to know him better. But he is trying to harass, and maybe even kill, her new best friend so getting to know him better is definitely not happening. Still, a girl can appreciate a view.
"You bast-ah!" Inuyasha grunts as the strain on his neck cuts off a bit of his air.
"Of all the places for him to hide it," Sesshomaru smirks and lifts Inuyasha higher, "all this time beneath our very own noses, or to be technical, above our very own noses. Right above, one might say."
Above their noses? Andy pales and pushes Kagome back a few more steps.
Attacking Sesshomaru is a terrible idea for a number of reasons. The first is that with his sudden disappearance and reappearance Andy's rage has been replaced by shock, and a large hint of lust if she's being totally honest, when paired with the mounting horror as she slowly comes to realize what he's implying there's really not a whole lot of rage left and Andy doesn't know how to call back the rage she needs to attack him... The second reason is that Andy doesn't have a fucking clue what she's doing and it's very, very obvious that Sesshomaru does.
"Father was determined to keep it a secret, which is why he chose here to hide it." Sesshomaru's grip on Inuyasha tightens a great deal more, causing Inuyasha to groan.
"What are you talking about? You're making no sense at all!" Inuyasha grits out as his hand comes up to circle around Sesshomaru's wrist.
"Well then, little brother, since it was obviously done without your knowledge, how would you like to come with me and find out?"
Andy can't help but watch as Sesshomaru raises his fingers up to Inuyasha's eye, golden threads of light branching out to connect the tips of his fingers to her friend's iris, and they seem to grow in strength as Sesshomaru pulls his hand away from Inuyasha's face until something small and dark, dark purple is released from Inuyasha's eye. With his purpose fulfilled Inuyasha is released from his brother's grasp. He hits the ground hard, hand pressed to his eye as agonized groans pour from his mouth which has Kagome rushing to his side as quickly as she can. Andy doesn't kneel, that prickling at her skull doesn't allow her too, but she does stand as a barrier between her friends and Sesshomaru as best she can. She tries not to flinch away when he turns to smirk at her, but his gaze doesn't linger and soon he's back to looking at Inuyasha.
"No wonder searching for it beneath ground was useless. Seeing yet never seen, protected yet never known to its protector, our father's tomb hidden inside a black pearl deep within your eye."
"And all for something like that you pretended she was my mother?" Inuyasha's rage is a palpable thing and Andy feels it before she ever feels him at her shoulder.
"You're not amused?"
Clearly Sesshomaru is.
"No I'm not, you bastard!"
He darts around Andy and lashes out at Sesshomaru wildly, sloppily, and he only gets less composed as Sesshomaru leaps up into the sky. Despite the pleased grin painted across his features Sesshomaru's eyes speak of nothing but hatred and violent intent, so when his fingers glow green Andy takes a hesitant step closer. She's not sure what she's planning on doing but no matter what she does Andy knows she's probably going to end up dead. Guess there's a benefit to being life eternal or whatever it is Phoebe had called her. As Sesshomaru begins pushing Inuyasha back with his attacks Andy figures that now's as good a time as ever to test the limits of her abilities and closes the space between her and her friend just seconds before the next attack gets to him. The band of green light he'd been attacking Inuyasha with ends up curled around Andy's forearm and pulls a pained hiss from the girl as the band of light bites into her flesh until it breaks skin, causing blood to well up and drip down her arm where it's absorbed into her now ruined sweater.
Energy flares around her, dissolving the band of light into nothing which leaves the ruin of Andy's arm exposed for all to see through the shreds of her sleeve... Only, it doesn't remain exposed for long as her muscle and skin are quick to repair themselves. It's not a quick process, of course, but the skin does close up after a minute or so and Andy rubs at the tender spots before shooting Inuyasha's brother what she hopes is a truly murderous glare.
"Hey you!" Kagome cries as she stomps by Inuyasha and Andy to stand between them and Sesshomaru.
Had Andy not been doing it all night she would be inclined to think her friend's actions incredibly stupid. They still are, seeing as Kagome is very human and lacks the power necessary to repair her damaged body.
"Kagome, get away from him!" Inuyasha snaps and it sounds like terror lacing his voice.
But Sesshomaru isn't looking at Kagome, in fact, it seems like he doesn't notice her at all. Instead he's looking off to the side and glaring at a very specific spot in the high grass.
"Jaken," his tone is hard and cold and brings his little green-toned demon pet running.
"Aye mi'lord!" Jaken calls as he appears out of the grass with a staff with heads carved into the top half that he presents to Sesshomaru with a flourish.
Fingers curled around the staff and his claws holding the black pearl aloft Sesshomaru says, "At last." before dropping the pearl and bringing the end of the staff down upon it.
Power fills the clearing along with a deep, laugh from the staff. Andy grits her teeth as she pulls Kagome closer as a black hole opens up behind Sesshomaru which he promptly disappears through. Andy bites back a groan as Kagome pulls her toward the black hole, because of course they would go after the man who tried to kill them. Knowing they don't have a choice Andy opts to go through first, stepping through the portal with more confidence than she has any real right to have. What greets her is a swirl of red mist and blinking lights that aren't totally dissimilar to the well's.
"You realize Sesshomaru's the there?" She hears Inuyasha demand and twists to observe him and Kagome.
"Well duh! That's why we gotta go! No one does that, no matter who he is!"
Kagome's clearly talking about Inuyasha's mom and it makes her heart swell to know that her friend is as willing to fight for Inuyasha as she is. Turning back to face the front Andy watches as in a flash of light the red mist disappears to reveal the towering remains of the one who must be Inuyasha's dad. Despite the fact that she's free falling through the air all Andy can bring herself to feel is awe, because Inuyasha's dad must have been a very powerful being in life to be so awe inspiring in death. While there's naught much but bones, the skeletal remains and the armor are impressive enough on their own. For a fleeting moment Andy finds herself thinking that it would have been interesting to meet Inuyasha and Sesshomaru's father, just to see what he was like.
A flutter of red in her periphery vision has Andy tensing before an arm wraps around her waist and pulls her onto the back of a dead bird along with Kagome and Inuyasha. it's a tight fit but they manage it, clinging to one another so as not to accidentally send the other off the side of the bird.
"Father." Inuyasha says, tone vaguely reverent.
"Huh? Those bones there are your dad?" Kagome asks, eyes wide with shock as she glances between Inuyasha and the skeleton.
"What else would they be?" Inuyasha demands sharply.
"Not that he wasn't alive once, too, but... What do you mean what else? They're huge, ok?"
"It's true." the appearance of a new voice has Andy nearly jumping out of her skin, the only thing that keeps her steady is Inuyasha's hand on her waist, and once she gets her balance again she turns to glare at the flea demon clinging to Inuyasha's subjugation beads. "They're huge, because he himself was of incomparable stature. here he is, in truest form, undisguised, the treasure sword embedded in his bones. That is what Lord Sesshomaru is after."
The bird they're on swoops around Inuyasha's father and comes up along the front before zipping into the skull through the opening between the top and bottom sets of teeth. The deeper they go into the body the more uncomfortable Andy grows. Everything seems like it's still alive, there isn't just a mass of calcified bones and well maintained armor, there's actual organic structure that shouldn't be on an actual corpse. Andy pulls Kagome closer to her despite feeling nothing malicious from the remains of Inuyasha's father. Better safe than sorry and all that.
Something shifts around them, a wave of static rushes through the air and causes a shiver to race down the length of Andy's spine. Again, not a malicious energy but Andy doesn't think it was friendly either. Wondering if maybe Sesshomaru has gotten to the remains first and has been waiting for them so that he can finish them all off, Andy reaches out for rage and finds nothing but simmering apprehensiveness. Shaking her head Andy allows Inuyasha to pull her off the back of the bird without much of a fight so that he can place her and Kagome on one of his father's ribs. A frown pulls at Andy's mouth as she looks down from where she's perched to see Sesshomaru staring at a battered katana stuck in a sort of dais. Sesshomaru doesn't seem to have noticed them yet, too caught up in whatever it is he's thinking to notice their little group until Inuyasha's anger gets the best of him.
"Sesshomaru!" He yells and his brother turns around to stare at him nonplussed. Andy seriously respects the amount of disinterest Inuyasha's brother can manage to produce because at this point she'd be pretty fucking put out if she was him. "We're not finished yet!"
Andy sucks in a sharp breath through her teeth as she watches Inuyasha over corrects after Sesshomaru sidestepped one of his attacks and sends himself sliding through the bone scattered around the floor of the antechamber they've found themselves in. It looks like it probably hurt a great deal and Andy thinks it's a good thing Inuyasha heals quickly or else he'd be spending the next few days suffering.
"Where is he?" Inuyasha growls, eyes darting left and right but never up into the air until the sound of feet hitting bone has even Andy nearly jumping out of her skin.
Disinterest replaced with cool anger, Sesshomaru says, "Be more respectful. It's our father's tomb."
Finding that Sesshomaru's anger is probably well placed, Andy doesn't think she'd be too pleased with someone fighting in the tomb of her parents if she had any, Andy decides to sit back and wait to see how this all turns out. If he needs her Andy will do whatever she has to to protect Inuyasha but for now it's not her business getting in the middle of this particular sibling spat.
"Look who's talking!" Inuyasha snarls. "You're the one here who's robbing his grave! Why not respect him by leaving?"
About then Myoga the Flea makes another appearance, hopping about on Inuyasha's shoulder and crying, "Lord Inuyasha! Look back! Look back!"
He's talking about the battered sword. Honestly, it doesn't look all that interest to Andy and she hopes that it's sentimental value that has the two brothers going at each other's throat and not something else. Seeing as it's apparently made from their dad's fang Andy can see why Sesshomaru would want it. Kind of. Inuyasha thinks it's a piece of junk too so maybe she's not alone in wondering why the hell Sesshomaru of all people want it. He just doesn't seem the type, you know? With as well dressed and presented as he is Andy thinks that having the sword on his person all the time would throw off his whole aesthetic, which would be a damn shame because it's a very nice aesthetic indeed.
Curious, Andy looks at Sesshomaru and finds him watching Inuyasha intently. It occurs to her that maybe he's waiting to see if Inuyasha can pull it out because clearly he had't been able too. But why? From what Andy's seen Sesshomaru isn't exactly incapable. He's certainly more powerful than Inuyasha and Andy doesn't presume to think that she's capable of defeating him either. Maybe if she'd been trained for a few hundred years she's be able to put up on hell of a fight but... Yeah, he's no slouch. So why couldn't he pull the sword out?
"It was always intended that Lord Inuyasha should inherit it." Myoga the Flea says and the statement makes the entire situation make more sense. "He-he-he was entrusted with the tomb, wasn't he? That should be proof enough if you ask me. Now, hurry! And claim what's yours!"
That doesn't necessarily mean anything. There could have been a number of reasons why Inuyasha got the illustrious honor, and Andy is being sarcastic, of protecting his father's tomb. None of them are exactly happy or encouraging reasons either. Inuyasha's rejection of the sword, however, does not stem from this sort of thinking and comes from somewhere darker.
"For all I care, he can keep the rusty piece of junk!" He rushes away from the sword and toward Sesshomaru, who still hasn't moved from his position opposite of Andy across the chamber, and yells, "Sesshomaru! What I do mind, though, is all the other stuff! Good thing you're in a grave because you're going to die!"
And then he lunges, flying through the air and swinging at Sesshomaru who easily leaps away from the attack with a taunting, "Now, was that aimed at me?"
The way they're fighting is odd, Andy notices after a moment, because Sesshomaru never moves to attack Inuyasha and only ever moves to avoid his attacks. He doesn't even looked worried either. In fact, Sesshomaru looks more determined than anything but Andy doesn't exactly know why. People, especially brothers, don't usually fight like this unless they're looking to hurt the other. Inuyasha is definitely looking to hurt Sesshomaru, but Sesshomaru doesn't seem all that bound and determined to hurt Inuyasha. Not right now anyway. After a particularly sloppy advance on Inuyasha's part Sesshomaru leaps up to avoid his attack, lands behind him with hardly a sound, and begins speaking.
"You fight as though you're still a child." the older of the two says.
"You can't fight unarmed!" Myoga calls and even Andy can here the desperation in his voice, "The sword! Get the sword!"
"You shut up!" Inuyasha snaps and through all of this Sesshomaru hasn't so much as moved a muscle to attack Inuyasha despite the fact that he's vulnerable and distracted.
Beside her Kagome makes a noise of distress and begins screaming, "Inuyasha! Get the dumb sword!"
"Kagome?"
"Sesshomaru couldn't pull it out, right? If you can't hit him in the body, hit him in the ego! Hurt his pride!"
"Kagome, please stay out of this." Andy half-begs, because she really likes how the sister-of-her-soul thinks but she probably shouldn't be offering any commentary when she and Andy are essentially sitting ducks.
She's not sure what Inuyasha said to Sesshomaru as she'd been hissing at Kagome, but she knows it must have been something that struck a nerve because golden eyes narrow dangerously and his mouth presses into a firm line. Not so disinterest as Andy has originally thought but maybe this is worse. And they all watch as Inuyasha struggles to pull the blade from it's resting place. It wiggles and shifts but never quite gives to the pressure of Inuyasha's strength against it. Andy purses her lips as she watches. Seems like this is all more confident than it seems.
"Pull harder!" She hears Kagome scream at Inuyasha, "Pull it out!"
Unfortunately, no amount of screaming is going to break demonic magic and whatever spell is keeping that sword in place is definitely demonic. Andy drums her fingers against her thigh as the light around the sword fades to reveal it still stuck in its spot despite all of Inuyasha's efforts.
"Figures there'd be a sine qua non." Andy mutters as she moves her gaze from the sword.
When she accidentally catches Sesshomaru's gaze with her own Andy raises an eyebrow at him before meeting Kagome's eye. The younger girl looks vaguely terrified but Andy's not getting any of the bad feelings she'd had earlier so she doesn't think Kagome has as much to worry about. Obviously, they aren't safe, but they aren't in immediate danger either.
"Are you done?" Sesshomaru's voice carries through the space, "I am."
Before Inuyasha can really do anything Sesshomaru is charging him, swiping at him in an imitation of Inuyasha's earlier attacks only these are cleaner, more precise. Andy bites her lip as she watches the two of them evade and attack one another. Her worry isn't unfounded considering Sesshomaru gets Inuyasha pinned pretty quickly, clawed fingers hover much too close to Inuyasha's face for Andy's comfort.
"I don't think you're met my poison claws." Sesshomaru says and his fingers light up green.
Inuyasha barely avoids getting hit in the face with the attack but Andy watches, horrified, as the area of bone behind where he'd been standing is hit and begins to slowly melt away. The damage only stops when Sesshomaru turns to chase after Inuyasha, who is sprinting away from him as fast as the limited space allows. It's not fast enough. Sesshomaru appears beside him in seconds and manages to avoid the attack from Inuyasha easily by leaping into the air, once there Sesshomaru summons the same light band that had cut up Andy's arm and uses it to begin whipping Inuyasha.
Worry turns to anger, but it's not rage.
Still, Inuyasha is tosses around so often and Sesshomaru doesn't seem to care that they're siblings or that he could very possibly kill Inuyasha. With everything to loose Andy grabs onto the anger and uses it to fuel her power as best she can while Jaken's malicious laughter rings in her ears. A hand suddenly curls around hers and Andy gasps as she's pulled off of her perch and down to the ground where she lands with a thump. Pain lances up her leg, she doesn't think her leg is broken but there's either a fracture or a sprain of some sort. Either way, it's enough to kick start her powers as it races to repair the damaged appendage.
A thump behind her has Andy whipping around to see Kagome holding the staff right under the carvings of the two heads, keeping it from smacking into the back of Andy's which the little green demon had so obviously meant to do.
"You stinking toad!" Kagome cries.
"You stinking human!" Is the aggravated response.
"This human's going to kick your-" "I don't think so!"
Andy can't do anything to really stop the other demon from shoving Kagome but she is close enough to the other girl to break her fall. After making sure Kagome's alright Andy pushes her closer to the sword as she figures that Sesshomaru and the other demon wouldn't risk damaging it by attacking her, then she places herself in front of Kagome so that she can watch the brother's and the little toad looking demon.
"What's the matter?" He yells as he waves the staff through the air, "Is that all you've got?"
"Not even started!" Kagome growls from behind her while Andy remains staring at the smaller demon but her attention is quickly diverted when she hears Inuyasha's pain cries. Worry claws at her throat when Sesshomaru shoves Inuyasha against the ground, his fingers practically dripping with poison and his eyes eager. Andy takes a few steps despite not being entirely sure what she can do for her friend and stops when Kagome's voice pulls Sesshomaru to an abrupt halt. "Oops."
Every set of eyes land on Kagome where she's standing next to the dais. Kagome's body langue screams nothing but discomfort and maybe a little bit of fear which is reasonable considering she pulled out the very sword the two brothers are fighting fore. The dark haired girl stares at the blade nervously as she adjusts her grip on the it, clearly unsure of how to hold the thrice damned thing.
"It just... came out." She explains, eyes wide. "Sorry."
Andy wants to tell her to put it back, or at the very least tell her to drop the damn thing and run, but her words get tangled up on her tongue and come out as more an agitated huff of breath.
"That's impossible!" Jaken screeches from behind her, clearly offended by the fact that a mere human managed to pull the sword out where his precious Lord Sesshomaru could not. "If the two of them couldn't do it, how could a mere human ever hope to-"
"Don't look at her! Look at me!" Inuyasha screams, clearly taking advantage of his brother's distraction because there's sound of a scuffle and before Andy can turn to look Sesshomaru has appeared before Kagome.
"What are you, and how did you draw the sword?" He asks, and Andy can't see his expression due to the way he's standing but it must be terrifying as Kagome takes a fleeting steps back and stops when her calves brush the dais.
Across the chamber Andy hears a relieved, "Good thing he's after her now and not us, eh, Lord Inuyasha?"
"Be quiet!" Inuyasha screams, "Sesshomaru, leave her alone! She's not involved in this!"
Kagome glances around Sesshomaru and calls out to Inuyasha before turning back to the demo in front of her with a trembling, "One step closer, and I'll cut you!"
Andy doesn't know Sesshomaru very well but she can safely assume he doesn't like to be threatened. While it's pretty clear to everyone that Kagome wouldn't be able to cut Sesshomaru even if she wanted to the fact remains that she's threatened him. With no way of knowing how the silver haired demon will respond Andy reaches into herself, searching for power that seems to evade her, and she's forced to watch as Sesshomaru turns around to address Inuyasha.
"For some unknown reason, I was unable to draw Tetsusaiga. Fortunately, you were unable to draw it out either. It's obvious that she must die."
Rage and fear makes her heart thrum rapidly in her chest, because of all the threats Kagome's had on her life thus far Andy is certain that Sesshomaru would be able to kill her easily. He doesn't seem the type to make idle threats, he also doesn't seem the type to care that Kagome's a young woman who clearly doesn't know what she's done. In his mind Sesshomaru is taking care of a threat before it actually becomes a problem for him. Andy understands the thought process but that's still Kagome he's threatening. Andy
"It is weird she could do it and we couldn't, but she's still just a human girl." Inuyasha says, trying to reason with a man who doesn't care and when that becomes apparent Inuyasha turns his attention to the girl, "Kagome, give him the sword."
Andy begins a silent creep in Sesshomaru's direction hoping he doesn't notice and realize what she's trying to do. It would be impossible for her to really do him any harm in a direct fight as Andy has less training than Inuyasha and she's not going to embarrass herself because she made a stupid decision. No. Sesshomaru is dangerous enough that Andy doesn't even care that sneaking up on someone to attack them is really kind of shitty on her part. Right now sneaking up on the older, more powerful demon is her only real option that doesn't end with her getting her head ripped off her shoulders immediately after attacking him.
"No way! Why does he automatically get to keep it? If he couldn't pull it out, it means he's not supposed to have it! He'll have to come and take it!" Kagome shouts, tightening her hold on the sword.
And yet when he takes it from you, he will kill you, Andy thinks but doesn't say as it would compromise her plan.
"Don't be stupid! You're only a human, so back off, shut up, and butt out!" Inuyasha yells back at the blue eyed girl.
"Butt out?" Kagome points the rusted blade at Inuyasha with a look of annoyance, "What do you know? You're just a- oh!"
"Inuyasha, your patience with this creature is astonishing to me. You protect her, indulge her, even seem to love her." Sesshomaru says as he takes a few steps toward Inuyasha, allowing Andy to close more of the distance between her and Kagome which isn't noticed by the older of the two brothers as he's still talking to Inuyasha. "Certainly these feelings of mercy of yours are not something I inherited from out great and terrible father. It must have been that mother of yours- that human mother who caused our father to meet his end in this ignoble place. Her blood affects you as well, is it that which endears you to them? When it comes to humans, I, of course, share no such weakness."
The sudden spray of poison he directs at Kagome has Andy jerking back in surprise while Inuyasha calls out for the dark haired girl, then it's over and there's nothing left of Kagome save a melted hunk of bone that has cocooned her. Nausea forces Andy to look away from the remains of Kagome and to her murderer, who is staring at the cooling mass with the same look of disinterest Andy had respected minutes ago. Furious, Andy turns to Sesshomaru.
"So fragile? Don't you agree, little brother?" Sesshomaru asks, whether to taunt or to express genuine curiosity Andy isn't sure but it only adds fuel to her rage.
"Sesshomaru!" Inuyasha yells, his rage seeming just as intense as Andy's.
"And not just humans- half-breeds, too."
Inuyasha charges Sesshomaru and Andy does the same, taking advantage of Inuyasha's thundering steps to hide her own as she advances on the older demon. The only thing she hadn't planned for is Inuyasha's shout of, "Iron Reaper Soul Stealer!" which forces Andy to fall back as the attack strikes the space Sesshomaru had been standing in. Inuyasha stares at the empty space for a split second but that's enough time for Sesshomaru to use the furry boa he's been wearing to jerk Inuyasha up into the air with him.
"How can you think with your dirty blood that you are my equal?" Sesshomaru demands as the boa tightens around Inuyasha's body before flinging him off to the side.
As Inuyasha's body goes flying through the bones littered across the ground Andy thrusts out her hand in Sesshomaru's direction, causing a small ball of white light to go sailing in his direction. Andy's expecting Sesshomaru to turn and intercept the attack as she's flying by the seat of her pants, but what she doesn't expect is for the ball of light to combust the moment Sesshomaru uses his own light whip to knock it aside. The resulting burst of energy is enough to send the demon sailing through the air while the crack of noise causes the remains of Inuyasha's father to tremble. Andy doesn't look away from Sesshomaru as it just seems like an incredibly stupid thing to do right now despite how badly she wants to do so, but she does flex her fingers as the demon steps away from the rib Andy had ultimately thrown him into.
Sadly, Sesshomaru doesn't look all that worse for wear despite hitting the bone hard enough to for a spiderweb of splinters across the exposed surface. An impact that would have potentially killed a human has done nothing but ruffled his hair and that's enough to make Andy even angrier, and across from her Inuyasha's brother doesn't even seem to notice her aggravation. Instead, he stands there staring at her like he doesn't comprehend that she was the one who threw him against the wall. As Andy moves to step toward Inuyasha to check on him, Sesshomaru appears directly in front of her. She's taller than he is, she realizes as they stare at one another, not by much, maybe a few inches? It's really not that important but Andy notices it all the same.
"If I had known that killing a mere girl would cause you to fight," He says, seemingly pleased, "I would have done it earlier."
"A fight? That's why you killed the sister-of-my-soul?" A twisted, huff of a laugh escaped her and then Andy's fingers are curling around his throat as she says, "This isn't a fight you can hope to win!"
Because even if he kills her Andy will come back, she'll put herself together again or resurrect from her own ashes, and if the point of the fight is to kill her permanently he's going to be sorely disappointed. Gritting her teeth Andy curls her fist tighter around his throat and the flame that has been licking at her fingers begins to lick at his throat. A normal person would struggle, or scream, or fight back in an attempt to escape the fire, but Sesshomaru merely narrows his eyes at her and in her rage Andy screams before tossing him away from her. This time he lands on his feet, seemingly unaffected by her treatment of him.
"Andy!" Inuyasha calls, voice sharp and full of worry, "You can't beat him!"
Turning to look over her shoulder at the younger of the two brothers Andy offers a shark's smile and goes to say something when the pile of melted bone behind them shifts and Kagome pops out of the goo without so much as a scratch. They all stare at her in mixes of fascination and irritation as Kagome rises, glances down at her body, and mutters under her breath because she shouldn't be alive. No one human can survive the kind of trauma Sesshoamru put Kagome through.
"I thought i was a goner." Kagome says to herself before catching sight of Sesshomaru, then she begins yelling. "Hey, you! You tried to kill me, didn't you! Don't go thinking you're going to get away with it, mister!"
In seconds Andy is at Kagome's side, pulling her closer to Inuyasha so that he can watch them as she checks Kagome over for wounds. When she finds nothing to indicate Kagome's physically harmed she forces herself to take a calming breath and step away from the other girl, who smiles reassuringly before going to give the sword to Inuyasha.
"Here, I think we underestimated it. Don't let me down!" She says as she transfers the sword into Inuyasha's hands.
"Hey, uh, how come you're still alive?" Inuyasha asks, as if Kagome would even know how she hasn't been turned into a puddle of melted human goo.
"Mmm. Uh, I don't know?"
"The sword," Sesshomaru supplies and Andy is quick to pull Kagome behind her when the bones beneath his feet begin to rattle violently, "that's what protected you."
"It's true! Those claws of his are deadly poison. It had to be the sword, Lord Inuyasha, or she would surely be dead. Why not put it to a real test and try it on Lord Sesshomaru?" Myoga the Flea asks, appearing on Inuyasha's shoulder as if out of thin air.
Well, Andy thinks as she ushers Kagome behind Inuyasha, it seems the sword is good for something after all.
"Big words, for such small vermin." Sesshomaru says and the waves of energy that roll off of him are enough to send skulls flying in every which way.
They bounce off of the walls, hit Inuyasha in the head, and collide with Andy's body when she is unable to produce a shield. She's forced to admit that maybe he'd been playing with them earlier, her and Inuyasha both, because he's clearly beyond the point of mild anger and his fury is not something Andy wants to witness at the moment. Mostly because of the fact that he'd been testing them earlier and hadn't really been trying to kill them, which means that right now Sesshomaru will not be holding any punches when it comes to either of them.
"Let's see is a half-breed can even wield the Tetsusaiga. I myself shall be the witness!"
The whites of Sesshomaru's eyes go a bloody red as the iris shrinks until it's no longer distinguishable from the pupil. If it weren't for the sheer amount of demonic power radiating off of him Andy would be forced to think that his eyes are the most terrifying thing about him. Then his face begins to elongate, resembling something more canine than human, before he turns into an orb of light that darts around the chamber and comes to a stop in the exact same spot he'd been occupying seconds ago. Andy's mouth goes dry as, in a flash of light and energy that forces her to take a step back, Sesshomaru is replaced with a truly massive white dog that snarls and growls and radiates nothing but rage. Without giving herself time to think better of it Andy grabs Kagome, pulls her back toward the wall, and throws a shield up around them that she can only hope defends them from the fight that's about to break out between the brothers.
