Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 1 of Fake It. I do apologize for taking so long with updating this story, but I finally got the muse to write it. Hopefully I'll have quite a few chapters written up so I can post while I'm healing up from surgery in the upcoming weeks. I hope that you guys enjoy this first chapter. Without further ado Chapter 1. ENJOY!

Chapter 1

Skeletal remains of four pirates, still clad in the buccaneer rags, hung from the gallows erected on a rocky promontory. There was a fifth, unoccupied gallow, bearing a sign saying Pirates- Ye Be Warned.

The top of a billowing sail passed regally in front of them. On the landward face of the sail, apparently high in the rigging were two people hanging onto it as they arrived in the port.

The man gazed keen-eyed at the display as they passed. He took his hat off and saluted the four skeletal remains. Suddenly something below caught his attention and made him jump from the rigging into the boat below.

The young woman who continued to hold onto the sail finally decided to drop down into the boat below causing the water to splash around her ankles. She picked up the bucket that was in the small fishing dory. She began to bail the water out of the boat letting out a breath. "AnnaMaria will not be pleased with this old man." She grumbled as she worked, her hazel eyes narrowing as she worked.

Jack stepped back to the tiller, and using a single sheet to control the sail, he brought the boat around the promontory and Port Royal was laid out before them.

The young woman dropped the bucket that she had in her hand causing the water to splash up from the boat. She pushed her tricorn hat back as she looked at the port before them.

The huge British dreadnought, H.M.S Dauntless dominated the bay. Jack's attention was on a different ship, the H.M.S. Interceptor, a small sleek vessel with railguns and a mortar in the middle of the main deck. It was tied up at the Navy landing, at the base of the cliffs below Fort Charles.

"So we're here to get one of the largest ships we can possibly get and try not to get caught aye?" The young woman questioned looking at Jack.

"Aye Morgan." He said, clapping his hand tightly on her shoulder.

Morgan rolled her shoulder, getting his hand off her shoulder as they brought the boat closer and closer to the docks.

Smoothly with no wasted movements, Jack hauled down the sail, stowing it, guiding the dory alongside the dock with Morgan right behind him keeping her strides long and confident.

The harbormaster with a long ledger tucked under his arm was there to catch the line and help Jack tie the boat up. "If you're rolling scuppers in this tub, you're either incredibly brave or incredibly stupid."

Morgan let out a laugh as she shook her head lightly. Of course they would think that of Jack, but she didn't want to admit it outloud that she was fairly just as stupid as him doing the craziest things.

"It's remarkable how often those two traits coincide." Jack said as he started walking up the dock, strapping on his sword belt; besides the scabbard, it also carried a compass, pistol and small powder horn.

The Harbormaster suddenly moved, blocking their path. "It's a shilling for the dock space, and you're going to have to give me your name."

"What do you say three shillings, and we forget the name?" Jack said, tossing three shillings onto the ledger.

The harbormaster considered for a moment and then shut the ledger on the coins, before stepping aside. "Welcome to Port Royal, Mr. Smith and Miss Smith."

Jack gave him a half-salute as he went past grasping Morgan's arm dragging her along with him. He looked across the water toward the Interceptor and smiled.

Morgan yanked her arm from his hand and scowled at him. "Bloody hell father you shouldn't be dragging me."

Jack turned his head slightly seeing the irritated look on her face. He let out a breath and shook his head lightly knowing that she was rather upset with him. "Yer gonna never let me live with that are you with what happened."

Morgan scoffed in agitation. "Ye think?" She said brushing past him.

"I was trying to save yer life, lassie."

"Ye could've saved Mum too."

Jack looked down knowing that she was still rather angry and her anger was well placed, but not fully. He had made a promise to himself that he would make sure that he would get his ship back and save his wife from the fate that was left upon the ship that he and Morgan had been booted off of years ago.

This is the end of Chapter 1. I hope that you guys enjoyed it. I do apologize if this chapter is a bit short, but I wanted to try to get enough in this chapter without going overboard with what is happening in this story. I'm going to try to make it long enough to make sure that I have plenty of chapters. Please leave a review and let me know what you think. I haven't decided on if I'm pairing Morgan off with anyone since Jack is her daddy and Will will be paired off with Elizabeth like she was in the movies. And the only one left would be James Norrington and I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to have them paired off, but what do you guys think? Should Morgan be paired off with James Norrington? Give him a sassy lady to be with? I hope to update soon with the next chapter. Until next time.
