Chapter Thirteen: The Amazingness of the ITEMS continues!

Finn blinked rapidly as he stood there, his force shield covering them even as the smoke cleared off to reveal Maleficent's shocked face. "Uh... guess it was thought activated this entire time and not voice activated."

A low angry growl escaped her, before she flung yet another fireball at the teenagers. Finn tensed as he noticed it flying towards him... a vial with lavender colored liquid sloshing around it flew past Finn's head and collided with the fireball. With a hiss, and a rather loud bang, fireball disintegrated on itself. Philby moved to stand next to Finn, holding another vial with the same liquid inside of it. "I love chemistry...or potion making. Either or. It's all the same to me."

Finn glanced back to see that Amanda and Jess were standing, ready for battle, along with the others. A frown crossed his features briefly, before he turned to face the Dark Fairy. "Philby... do you still have at least three smoke bombs?"

"I have seven of them left... why?" Philby didn't blink an eye as he tilted his head to the side, peering curiously over at his friend and leader.

"Use them... all of them. When I say so. Once the smoke is in the air, everyone scatter and make a beeline for Obi-Wan's place. Understood?" Finn kept his gaze on Maleficent, sure that she was trying to figure out what he was talking about. The other teens were confused for a minute, before remembering that in Star Wars, that while he died early on, Obi-Wan had been Luke Skywalker's mentor. Nods quickly rippled through the group. Finn pulled his sword out, grimacing slightly at the thought of what he was about to do... "NOW!" Philby flicked his wrist, seven vials with the glowing blue liquid in it against the ground. Blue smoke immediately flooded the large area, making it hard to see. Finn could feel his heart pounding so loudly it felt as if it were about to leap out of his chest as he dodged around Maleficent, slashing at her quickly. Sheathing his sword, he sprinted through the smoke towards what he hoped was a safe place for them...

Finn glanced back at the townsquare behind him, which was still full of thick smoke. He could here the angry yells from his opponents, who were still stuck inside of it. Taking a deep breath, he closed the firehouse door, before moving to head up the stairs. Upon entering the living room, he found the others already there, and a wide awake, though in his pajamas, Wayne sitting on his couch.

Wayne raised an eyebrow upwards. "A diversion to allow all of you to get here unscratched. Not something I would have thought up."

"Thanks... I think?" Finn flopped unceremoniously unto the floor.

Wayne chuckled as he shifted in his seat. "That was a compliment young man."

"I thought you said that we're just kids." Charlene mumbled from were she sat on the floor, fingering her bow. Maybeck was standing by the window, occasionally glancing out of it so as to spot danger before it could get to us.

"Oh...you are. That hasn't changed." Wayne lifted a finger up, tapping his head. "However it's the way you think when placed in these situations that made me realize that age has nothing to do with it. And since you decided to wake me at this unearthly hour, I presume you have something to ask me? Perhaps one of the parts of the riddle as you befuddled?"

"Actually... no. We sort of know the answer. Just quick question... do you know where Walt Disney's First Pen is kept?" Finn felt surprisingly relaxed as he leaned back against the door.

Wayne rubbed his face tiredly, one eyebrow raised. "Now that you mentioned it... I believe it is on display at One Man's Dream. A museum of sorts. Why do you ask?"

"Because...that's the answer to the riddle." Finn felt determination flood his voice as everything about him hardened. "Time to make a plan. I say two nights from now, we strike. Unless someone says otherwise?"

"Nope." "Two nights of sleep, then action? Count me in." "Not really. Let's do this." "The sooner we get this done, the better. I'll be there." "We need to scout out security first. I'll do it but I'm gonna need volunteers to help me do it, keep look out." "Consider me in all the way."

Finn smiled at that, before crossing his arms as he looked over at Wayne. "Okay... I guess that leads me to our more recent discovery." Taking a deep breath, he launched straight into the heart of the matter. "I thought you said that my force shields are voice activated? Earlier tonight I activated it with my thought process instead of my voice..."

Wayne shifted uncomfortably, concern flashing across his features. "That is not what I programmed them to do."

"Well then... someone must know what's going on with them. Cause apparently they can fly through solid objects, and are thought activated." Finn paused, his brow furrowing forward in thought. "Did you program them to call each other when we're not in uniform, or is that something else to add to your list have shouldn't be able to do?"

Wayne shook his head, amazement flooding him. "They really shouldn't be able to do that either. Honestly I'm being to feel as if you five know more about my own creations than I do."

"We need to get back. It's getting late and we all have school in the morning." Philby glanced down at his watch, noting the time.

Finn nodded in agreement, before turning to Wayne. "We'll see you once we have the pen in hand. Until then... see you later." He saluted him, before pulling the door open and leading the way back outside...

A/N: Done! Finally... don't ask why this is literally a week late... I just couldn't get it to flow the way I wanted it to... and problems with keeping what I typed up... and this is the end result. We're getting close to the end though. Yay! Um... yeah. I'm still not too happy with this one, but this is the best its gonna get. Sorry.

I can't count apparently. Don't beleive me go back through and look at the chapter titles at the top of each page (not the drop down scroll box that lists the chapters, but the top of the page where I always type the chapter title at... and go through the whole book).
