Without further ado Chapter 20. ENJOY!
Chapter 20
Bonnie entered the cell which looked empty but that was because Will was hanging from the rafters trying to shove up the ceiling planks with his legs. "That ain't going to work. That's the gun deck above yea." She pointed out as she looked at the young man.
Will dropped lightly to the floor. He looked at the woman with his brows furrowed. "What happened to William Turner?"
"Ah, William Turner. Stupid blighter. He threw in with them after they relieved Jack of his captaincy, but turned out, it never sat well with him - particularly after we found Cortes' treasure, and its peculiar condition. He thought we deserved to be cursed, for leaving Jack to the fate they did. That's why he sent off a piece of the treasure - to you, as it were: so it would never be recovered, and so cursed we remain." Bonnie said softly as she wrapped her arms around herself.
"And then he ran. And he's hiding out someplace where you haven't been able to find him."
Bonnie let out a soft scoff shaking her head lightly. "That's a nice thought, to be sure, and I wager your da wishes he'd thought it hisself. But, no. See, what he'd done, didn't sit too well with Barbossa ... so he chained a cannon to his legs and dumped him over. I would have stopped him, but I would have been joining him dumped over into the sea."
Will's eyes went wide as he heard the story from Bonnie.
"Yep, last I saw of Bootstrap Bill, was his face looking up, as he sank down to the crushing black oblivion of Davy Jones' locker." She let out a soft breath shaking her head lightly. "It was only after, we found out we needed his blood to solve the curse. That's what you call ironic."
Barbossa appeared behind Bonnie putting his hand on her shoulder causing her to wrinkle her nose in distaste. He regarded Will for a moment before leaning forward to talk to Bonnie. "Bring him."
Bonnie nodded her head as Barbossa moved away and left her with Will.
Will swallowed the lump in his throat. "Who are you?"
"Bonnie Sparrow."
Will's eyes went wide. "Sparrow?"
"Aye. I'm Jack's wife and Morgan's mother."
"So it's true… what Morgan said."
"Aye. I've been stuck here for too long. All I want to do is be back with my husband and daughter. I've missed them dearly." She let out a soft breath and looked at Will. "Lad, what you're doing is really dangerous… Barbossa can't be trusted and you've picked perhaps the worst fate that you could ever pick. You can only hope that Barbossa doesn't kill you." She said as she brought him out of his cell and led him towards the upper deck.
PIRATES
Jack went to the rail where Morgan stood and leaned against the rail waiting pretending to look out to the sea.
Elizabeth walked towards them dressed in sailors' clothing and came up to them. "You didn't tell Commodore Norrington everything." Elizabeth said softly.
"Nor did you, I noticed."
"He might delay the rescue ... and that would be too late." Elizabeth admitted softly.
Morgan looked over at Elizabeth. "Exactly."
"These men will be facing an enemy that seemingly cannot be killed."
"I have a plan. If it succeeds, then any battle will be decidedly brief ... and one-sided." Jack said, letting out a soft breath.
"What's your plan?"
"LAND HO!"
The Isla de Muerta lay dark and menacing on the horizon.
Morgan took a breath as she looked at the island again, swallowing the lump that formed in her throat.
Norrington came over to Elizabeth. "Elizabeth - below decks. I will not compromise your safety."
She tried to speak but Norrington turned away.
"Lieutenant, escort Elizabeth to my quarters, and make sure she stays there." Norrington gazed through his spyglass, at the island.
Jack watched in amusement as Elizabeth was escorted away.
"I don't like the situation, Mister Sparrow. The island is riddled with caves. I will not put my men at a disadvantage."
"Funny, I was thinking along those lines. How about you let me go in alone, and while you're setting up an ambush, I'll trick the pirates out to you."
"You would do that?"
"They left me stranded. Twice. What have you got to lose?"
Norrington looked over at Jack. "Nothing I wouldn't be please to be rid of."
Jack smiled. "I knew you'd listen to reason!"
Morgan let out a breath and shook her head lightly.
Jack looked at his daughter. "You will stay on board." He said, giving her a look pleading her to stay put.
Morgan let out a soft scoff and took a breath. "Alright." She said softly. "Since you want to do this your way. Just don't get yourself killed."
Jack smiled a small smile. "I'm not making a promise."
"Of course you're not." Morgan said, rolling her eyes before slowly moving away from the two men heading down below to the lower deck.
