Originally, when Goldett had sent him on a glorified shopping run to Liuye Harbor, his mind had been on literally everything else he could think about, so he didn't think all that much of it.

She had given him new clothes, (AN: Think average male Liuye npc clothing, but he's wearing pants instead of the... Gown thing? Idk, the upper outfit stays the same, it just cuts at the waist for pants.) and his mind wandered to other things, so he wasn't thinking, he was just walking.

Lucas Goldenrod had a habit of not thinking until stuff was right in his face. So, when he saw the Harbor, a lot of thoughts ran through his head.

The harbor was as big as New York at the very least, and he could hear things coming from it from miles away. As he entered the city, he saw children playing, people walking one place to another, chatting. He saw expensive restaurants, a lot of them, and things that looked like they could empty his pockets and put him in ridiculous debt.

But a rather distinct orange mop of hair made itself rather evident to him.

Gold eyes met sapphire, and fight or flight kicked in.

He chose flight.

He sped away as fast as he could, bumping into many people on his way. He yelled out apologies and kept on sprinting till his breath ran out.

He could have sworn he saw those blue eyes again and ran into a mop of pink hair because of it. He immediately apologized.

"Sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going, that's on me..." And then he opened his eyes and looked at her.

Damn, she's really fucking ho- FUCK HOROMONES.

He coughed into his elbow. 'Real smooth Louie.'

"No, it's fine. What had you in such a hurry?"

He couldn't just say 'oh i'm just running from a character i thought was fictional until a week ago' so he used a half-truth instead.

"I was going to get things for Verr Goldett here in the harbor."

"You work at Wangshu Inn?"

He hadn't even realized he had started walking with her until he had to start moving around others to stay next to her.

"Yeah. I don't think I caught your name."

"Yanfei. And who is this charmer talking to me?"

"Lucas, Lucas Goldenrod, but beauties like you can call me Louie."

They look at each at each other flirtatiously, before bursting out in laughter. If she notices that his were forced, she doesn't mention it. They talk for a while, walking aimlessly, until he stops at a perfume place by the name of Scent of Spring.

"Well, it seems I have to pick something up here. But I'm sure I'll be seeing you again, right?"

"Why of course, handsome. It'd be rude of me to leave such a nice gentleman hanging."

They said their goodbyes and she went on her way.

He probably had it bad for her, but he had something to do, and he could always yell into a pillow once he got back to the inn.

He walked in.

That was... an experience.

He'd rather not speak on it, but Ms. Ying'er was a... personality.

Anyways, he got the perfume, and needed to also get a recipe, and hand off a letter to a Lady Ninguangg. He followed the map to Wanmin Restaurant.

Going to the front counter, he asked for the things on the list and was about to leave when he was grabbed by his collar.

"Wait! I need you to sample this for me." An eccentric looking girl asked holding out a dish.

"I suppose."

He takes a bite, and a burst of flavor comes at his taste buds. He eats faster.

"See dad, I told you someone could handle the spice!"

"Honey, you added 4 full Jueyun Chili worth of sliced chili. I'm honestly surprised his mouth hasn't caught literal fire yet."

All he had to do now was deliver the letter, but when he asked the local military force, the Millelith, as well as other important (read as rich looking) people, they all asked why he wanted an audience with her, and then he showed them the letter, and they said that they didn't know.

When he noticed that someone was following him, he walked slower. If they were under Lady Ninguangg, the letter would go to her and then he could go back to the inn. If it was just a common criminal or someone with less than savory ideas, he could always run, and if that didn't work, well, he still had his Halberd.

He came to a stop and looked up to see a woman looking down on him before hopping to the nearby upper level and walking down the stairs.

"I assume you work for Lady Ninguangg, correct?"

"Yes. If I may have the letter, please."

"Of course."

The interaction was quick, concise, business.

They turn away from each other, and when he looks back, it's as if she was never there to begin with.

He walks around the harbor a while longer, just taking in the beauty, before opening his mouth.

"It ain't Vegas, but the lights here sure are great."
