Hello! Yes this chapter is going to get confusing. Just to warn you, you will see a lot of names being repeated. I am only doing this to prevent confusion and things. Please don't get annoyed with me for overusing names like Doctor and Professor. I am only doing this so the fic will be easier to read. So yah... Review, Enjoy! :)
Last time: "And I'm the Doctor." The other ganger, a small grin making its way on his lips.
Suddenly the G-Professor doubled over and groaned, "Why?" She choked out. The G-Doctor bent down beside her, "Why does it hurt?!" She screamed, grabbing her head and falling to the floor.
"Oh no." The Professor muttered, trying to push the Doctor and Koschei behind her, "Kitten, Koschei get behind me." She said not taking her eyes off her ganger. "Um, ganger Doctor you should get back too." She added.
Her ganger was still hunched over but the G-Doctor backed up. Then all of a sudden the G-Doctor screamed, "Ah! What's happening? I wonder if we'll get back. Yes one day." He screamed again, "I've reversed the polarity of the neutron flow." The G-Doctor fell to the floor.
The Doctor tried to run over, but the Professor stopped him, "Hold on let him cope with your regenerations." She said, her eyes still on her hunched over ganger. She was just shaking.
"Just hold on, you can stabilize." The Doctor called to him.
"Would you like a jelly baby?" The G-Doctor said in a voice that wasn't his. "Why? Why?! Why?!" He screamed, clutching his side.
"Just hold on." The Doctor called again.
"I've reversed the jelly baby of the neutron flow. Would you like a Doctor, Doctor, I'm, I'm the. I can't." The G-Doctor whimpered curling in more on himself.
"No, hold on." The Doctor says again.
"No!" The G-Doctor screamed. His face fluctuated from half-formed to full-formed and then all at once he was normal. The gangers outside were still trying to get in but then it went quiet.
"I think I liked it best when they were being noisy." Buzzer said.
"Mm hm." Amy agreed. Then she turned, "Doctor, we need you get over here." Amy said.
The G-Doctor stood up and looked at her, "Hello."
"Doctor." Amy said sternly.
"Cybermats." The Doctor asked.
"Do we have time for this?" The G-Doctor countered.
The G-Professor stopped shaking and the Professor spoke up, "Shut up." She said firmly, finally taking her eyes off her ganger. She turned to the two, "You two just shut it." They both gave her a look. She turned back to her ganger and slowly walked forward, "Hello?" She asked, knowing it sounded stupid, but doing it anyway.
Her ganger looked up, her face filled with pain, "Why?" She choked out. Then she had a spasm, "John!" She screamed, her voice filled with pain. The name made the Professor flinch but she continued forward, slowly. Her ganger panted and looked back at her a mad grin on her face, "No survivors. All of them gone." She said and again the Professor flinched. Her ganger fell back on the ground arching her back and screamed, "Gun to my head, the Professor no more!" The Professor flinched yet again. "Koschei! Help!" The G-Professor said in a choked voice. Koschei got a haunted look in his eyes and he clenched one of his fists.
At that moment, the Professor fell to the ground beside her and pulled her back into a sitting position, "Look at me." She said, willing her ganger to focus on her face, "Cope. Stabilise. Hold on. Remember who we are." She said.
"Why?" The G-Professor whimpered, "Why? Why? Why?!" She screamed. She threw the Professor hands off of her and covered her face with her hands, "Rose Tyler, the Professor, Bad Wolf, I am... I am the Professor. I am Rose Tyler. Who am I?" She whimpered.
"You are the Professor... the Savior of-"
"Universes." The G-Professor finished. She looked up with a clear look in his eyes, "I am the Professor." She said, looking at herself. The Professor nodded and stood up.
She helped the G-Professor up and both the Doctors looked slightly startled, "Why did she do that?" The Doctor asked.
"Yah, your only on your fourth regeneration." The G-Doctor added.
"Well, Doctors. I may not have had a lot of regenerations but I have a lot of memories to deal with. The Flesh was having a little trouble sorting through them." The Professor answered.
The G-Professor nodded, and looked at the Professor, "Oh, is that what I look like?" She asked. "Not bad."
The Professor looked at herself, "Yes, not bad indeed." She agreed.
"Do we have time for this?" The G-Doctor said again.
"We make time, now cybermats." The Doctor said, again.
"Created by the Cybermen. They kill by feeding off brainwaves." The G-Doctor answered.
"I love it when you get all technical." The G-Professor said, hooking onto his arm. The G-Doctor straightened his bowtie.
"Alright, now let's get one thing clear here." The Professor said, hooking onto the Doctor, "That's your Doctor. This is my Doctor." She said. "Agreed?"
"Agreed. It doesn't really matter either way because you're both the Doctor, but-"
"I don't like to share." The Professor finished, lightly squeezing the Doctors arm. The G-Professor nodded and smiled at the G-Doctor.
"Isn't sharing caring?" The Doctor asked.
"Yes, but sharing my Doctor isn't something I want to do." The Professor said, "I would rather have you all to myself. Wouldn't you agree?" She asked, turning to her ganger.
"Oh, yes." The G-Professor purred. Both the Doctors blushed lightly.
"Okay, I didn't need to hear any of that. But just to remind you we are in a bit of an emergency." Koschei said.
"Right. Also why did you call Koschei for help?" The Doctor asked, pointing to the G-Professor.
Both the Professor and the G-Professor tensed, while Koschei clenched his fist, "I wasn't calling for him to help me now. It was... from another time. A long time ago." The G-Professor answered.
A small side conversation was happening while the five timelords got situated. "Are you sure there aren't any weapons we can get to, like big guns with bits on?" Amy asked.
"Yeah, big guns would be good right now." Buzzer agreed.
"Why would we have guns? We're a factory. We mine." Jimmy said. The door suddenly started to steam.
"Acid." Amy muttered, looking at the door. Again the gangers started to hit against the door.
"Rory and Amy, they may not trust all of us." The Doctor said looking around the small circle that had formed.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" The G-Doctor said.
"Inevitably." The Doctor answered.
"I'm glad we're on the same-" The G-Doctor started.
"Wavelength. You see, great minds." The Doctor said finishing his sentence.
"Exactly. So what's the plan?"
"Actually I know that." The Professor said, looking between both of them. "Save them all-"
"Humans, gangers, and timelords." The G-Professor finished.
"Sounds wonderful." Both the Doctors said at the same time.
"Ok, this getting weird. I'm kind of glad I don't have a ganger." Koschei said, looking between them all.
"Doctor, come on." Amy called.
"So what now Doctor?" The G-Doctor asked.
"Well, time to get cracking Doctor." The Doctor said, smiling. Both the Professors rolled their eyes.
They all walked over, both Professors clinging to their designated Doctors, "Hello. Sorry, but we had to establish a few ground rules." Both the Doctors said.
"Formulate a protocol."The Doctor said.
"Protocol? Very posh." The G-Doctor said, smiling.
"A protocol between us. Otherwise."The Doctor explained.
"It gets horribly embarrassing." The G-Doctor finished.
"And potentially confusing." The Doctor added.
"I'm glad you solve the problem of confusing." Amy said, sarcastically.
"That's sarcasm." The G-Doctor deduced.
"She's very good at sarcasm." The Doctor added.
Then suddenly all four people said, "Breathe."
"What?" Amy asked.
"We have to get you off this island. And the gangers too." The Doctor said.
"Sorry, would you like a memo from the last meeting? They are trying to kill us!" Cleaves hissed.
"They're scared." Both the Professors said at once.
"Doctor, we're trapped in here." Amy said, panicking slightly.
"Right, see, I don't think so. The Flesh Bowl is fed by cabling from above." The Doctor explained.
"But where are the earthing conduit?" The G-Doctor asked.
"All this piping must go down into a tunnel or shaft or something, yes? With us?" The Doctor said, looking around the room. He walked over to the corner of the room and found a grating in the wall. "Yowza. An escape route."
"Yowza?" Amy questioned.
"You know, I'm starting to get a sense of just how impressive it is to hang out with me." The Doctor said, a smile on his face.
"Do we tend to say Yowza?" The G-Doctor said. Both Professors giggled.
"That's enough, let it go, okay? We're under stress." The Doctor said.
The Doctor opened the grating with his sonic and everyone crawled in. When the gangers finally broke through the door the Doctor was already sonicing the grating shut. They all made their way into a corridor.
"The army will send a recon team our." Buzzer said.
"We need to find a way to contact the mainland." Cleaves said.
"What about Rory and Jen? They are both out there." Amy said.
"No, this place is a maze. Takes a long time to find someone in a maze. I bet you lot have got a computer map, haven't you?" The Doctor asked.
If we can get power running, we can scan for them. Be a lot quicker." Cleaves suggested. The air started to get a little foggier and they all started coughing.
"Guys, you said earlier to breathe." Amy choked out.
"Very important, Pond. Breathe." The Doctor managed to get out.
"Yeah, well, I'm struggling to."
"Acid interacting with the stone." The Professor said, covering her mouth with her sleeve.
"Creating an asphyxiant miasma." The G-Doctor said, doubling over and coughing.
"A what?" Cleaves asked.
"Choking gas." The Doctor answered. "Extra heavy. If we can get above it."
"The evac tower. It's this way." Cleaves said, pointing down the corridor. She led the way down the corridor and into the evac tower.
"Oh, I think I coughed so hard, I pulled a muscle or something." The Doctor looked at her worried, "It's okay, it's better. It's easing off."
The church bell rang, echoing through out the room. Jimmy smiled, "It'd midnight. It's Adam's birthday. My son's five." He happily exclaimed. "Happy birthday bud."
In the Chapel...
"Happy birthday, Adam. He'll be so excited. Out of bed at the crack of dawn. It's funny, he's got this wee dance he does when he gets over-excited." G-Jimmy smiled fondly.
Suddenly, G-Jennifer walked in. "Listen to me. I tried to block the memories, but now I know I must remember. It's the eyes. The eyes are the last to go." She said.
"What are you talking about?" G-Jimmy asked.
"When they destroy us, the eyes are the last things to melt. And there's one question in those eyes. Why? Why should we suffer for the sake of human beings?" She asked, looking at all of them.
G-Dickens spoke up, "I heard in India there's over ten million gangers."
"We can reach out. Inspire them to rise up." G-Jennifer said, putting on a hopeful face.
"Revolution?" G-Cleaves questioned. "Look, I just, I just want to be left to live in peace, Jen."
"They will melt you. Have you become so human that you've forgotten the truth? Don't ou remember all the time you were decommissioned, or should I say executed?" G-Jennifer argued.
"No we don't remember." G-Cleaves said, looking at her.
"Well, I do. It's us or them." She said, looking at all of them with both her hands out. G-Dickens nodded and grabbed one of her hands.
"She's right." G-Jimmy agreed and walked over to grab the other one.
G-Cleaves looked at them and sighed. She walked over and grabbed their hands. "I have a plan, and it'll destroy them all." G-Jennifer stated, smiling.
Back at the evac tower...
(This is where it gets a little more confusing. Now I may be wrong, but I think the G-Doctor is on the left and the real Doctor is on the right. Same goes for the two Professors.)
The two Doctors were behind the big console and the two Professors were standing beside them. "Can you really get the power back?" Cleaves asked.
"Oh, there's always some power floating around." The G-Doctor said, popping up from behind the console on the left, only to go back down.
The Doctor popped up on the right from behind the console, "Sticking to the wires, like bits of lint." He finished and disappeared behind the console.
"Can you stop finishing each other's-" Amy started.
"Sentences? No probs." The DOctor said, reappearing.
"Yes." The G-Doctor agreed, popping up again.
"No, hang no. You said that the Tardis was stuck in acid, so won't she be damaged?" Amy asked, looking at the Professor.
"Oh no, she's a tough old thing." The Professor said.
"Yah, been by my... or our side for a long time." She said, looking at Amy.
"Yah, tough old dependable." The Doctor added.
"Not to mention sexy." The G-Doctor added. The Doctor nodded in agreement while the Professor and the G-Professor shared a look.
Amy pulled a face, "Come on. Okay, how can... how can you all be real?" She asked, gesturing to the four of them.
"Well, because we are. I'm the Doctor and that's the Professor." The G-Doctor said pointing to the G-Professor.
"Yeah and we're the Doctor and Professor too." The Doctor said. "We both contain the knowledge of over nine hundred years of memory and experience."
"Yeah and so do we." The Professor added.
"We both wear the same bow tie, which is cool." The Doctor said.
The G-Doctor popped up, "Because bow ties are-"
"And always will be." The Doctor finished.
"But how did the Flesh read you? Because you weren't linked up to it." Amy asked.
"Well, it must've been after we examined it. Thus, a new, genuine Doctor and Professor were created." The Doctor explained.
The G-Doctor and G-Professor said, "Ta-da."
"No getting away from it. One of you was here first." Amy said, focusing on the two Doctors.
"Well okay. After the Flesh scanned me I had an accident with a puddle of acid. Now new shoes. A situation which did not confront my learned self here." The Doctor said
"What about the two Professors?" She asked, pointing at them.
They looked between each other and the G-Professor took off her leather jacket, "Alright, I'll take off my jacket. That way you'll know which one is which. I'm the ganger one by the way."
"That satisfy you, Pond?" The G-Doctor offered.
"Don't call me Pond, please." She said, looking at the G-Doctor. All four of them started to stare at her. "What?" She asked, looking between all of them.
"Interesting. You definitely feel more affection for him than me." The G-Doctor said.
"No, no, I- Look, you're fine and everything, but he's the Doctor. No offence. Being almost the Doctor is pretty damn impressive." Amy said, trying to reassure him.
"Being almost the Doctor is like being no Doctor at all." He said, a slightly hurt expression on his face.
"Don't overreact." Amy said, looking at him.
"You might as well call me Smith." The G-Doctor said waving his hand. He seemed to forget who was in the room with him, because both Professors clenched their fists.
"Smith?" She asked.
"John Smith." He said again. When he said that, Koschei walked over and hit him lightly in the back of the head. "Oi! What was that?" He asked, rubbing his head. Koschei gave a pointed look at the two Professors who were looking down. When he did that, the Doctor realized what the other him had said and also hit the G-Doctor in the back of the head, "Oi!" He said again.
The G-Professor and the Professor both said, "I'm going to get some air." They both walked out the door to the outside of the tower. The G-Doctor automatically looked like he regretted what he said.
Before he could amend what he said, the Doctor spoke up, "Yes! Communication a go-go."
Cleaves and Amy rushed to the console while Koschei walked to the door to go with the two Professors. "Find Rory! Show me the scanny tracky screen." She said looking at the console. "Come on, Rory let's be having you." She muttered as Cleaves scanned the monastery.
"There's no sign of him anywhere." Cleaves said.
"Come on. Come on, baby, show yourself." Amy said.
"Saint John's calling. Emergency Alpha." Cleaves said, speaking into a microphone. "Saint John's calling the mainland. Are you receiving me, Captain? Come in." She paused. "We'll never get a signal through this storm. Saint John's calling the mainland. Come in, this is urgent." She said again.
The intercom spoke up, "We're just about reading you Saint John's. How are you doing? We've had all kinds of trouble here."
"Request immediate evacuation. We're under attack. The storm's affected our gangers. They're running amok." She explained.
"Your gangers?" The guy on the intercom asked.
"Yes, our gangers are attacking us. We need you to take us off the island immediately and wipe them out."
"Copy that, Saint John's. Shuttle's despatched. Hang on."
"You'll need to airlift us off the roof of the evac tower." She paused, "And Captain, any further transmission sent by me must come with the following code word. I'm typing it, in case they're listening in." She said, typing the word into the console.
"Got it. We'll swing in, get you out and decommission the Flesh." The Captain said, before the intercom crackled out. Little did Cleaves know that the transmission signified the final decision between peace and war. No one really could have known, well maybe except for Cleaves, that the gangers were listening in. No one also could have know that the gangers had decided to fight. Really no one could have predicted that, well maybe except for Cleaves and the Professor. However both Professors were not in the room when the transmission was made and Cleaves had wanted a war anyway. So really no one could have predicted that by agreeing to decommission the Flesh, they were starting a war.
