I put this chapter a bit out-of-order from the episode for the sake of less confusion. Enjoy!

Last time: "Alright then." The Professor nodded and headed back to the Tardis.

Once the Professor walked in, Koschei turned to her with his arms crossed and he had a disapproving look on his face. The Professor stopped in her tracks, "What?" She asked.

"The Tardis told me about your regenerations..." He trailed off. The Professor paused then walked to the console and started putting in coordinates. "Are we not going to talk about this?" He asked, walking over and staring at her.

"There's nothing to talk about." She answered, not looking at him.

"What do you mean there's nothing to talk about? Your first regeneration you died of blood loss... from your wrists. The Tardis wouldn't tell me how that happened but I'm not an idiot. Why would you kill yourself?" He asked, throwing his hands up in the air.

The Professor braced herself against the console, "It was hard." She said, through gritted teeth. "I had just lost whatever tie I had to my old life. I wasn't me anymore. I had to keep moving because if I stayed too long people would notice. I couldn't make friends. I was alone. I couldn't take it anymore." She said, running a hand over her face. "I didn't know if I could regenerate. I didn't know I would wake up with a new face and new teeth." She said, scoffing. "Then I did. Please don't tell the Doctor..." She said, standing straight. She glanced at Koschei. He nodded in understanding.

"Where are we going then?" He asked.

"You're going to Earth." The Professor said, throwing a switch.

"What?"

"You are going to be safe on Earth until all of this blows over. I'll give you a credit card so you can survive there for a while. I promise I will come back for you." She said handing him the card.

He looked at her and saw pure determination in her eyes. He sighed, "Where am I going?"

"Torchwood. I'll drop you off with an old friend." She said smiling. The Tardis groaned to a stop on top of the rift, "Besides she needs a bit of refueling."

They stepped out and the Professor led Koschei onto a platform outside of a strange fountain. "Why are we here?" He asked.

"Oh hush up." She said, pulling him onto a slab of concrete. All of a sudden they were being lowered down and a whole new place opened up. "Torchwood." The Professor said with a smile. She saw several people, all of whom she didn't know. "I'm here to see Jack. Any of you know him?" She asked when they hit the floor. Koschei stood behind her and she looked around the room with a hand on her hip.

Almost immediately, several guns were pointed at the two. "Who are you?" One of the women asked. She had a welsh accent.

"You haven't answered my question." The Professor said, crossing her arms over her chest.

The woman who spoke stepped forward the gun still pointed, "I have the gun here, you answer to me."

The Professor stepped forward, the gun an inch away from her, "Go ahead and shoot, although I am rather fond of this body." She said, shrugging.

"Rose..." Koschei said, grabbing her arm.

"Did you say Rose?" A voice said. A man stepped into view of the two people. A man who people knew as Captain Jack Harkness.

The Professor smiled, "Hello Jack. It's been awhile."

Jack narrowed his eyes, "You're not Rose."

"I don't look like her. A whole mess happened and I regenerated into this body. I still remember you though. Me hanging from a barrage balloon with the union flag plastered all over my chest." She said, chuckling at the memory. "Man that was ages ago."

Jack smiled, "Rose? Is that really you?"

"Yeah."

Jack crossed his arms over his chest, "Alright if you're Rose then what song was playing when we met?"

The Professor smiled, "Moonlight Serenade. We had champagne on top of your spaceship by Big Ben. You were, if I remember correctly, trying to seduce me."

Jack smiled wolfishly, "It would have worked too, if the Doctor hadn't been so possessive. By the way, why aren't you blonde?"

"I'll tell you that as soon as all these guns get out of my face." She said, gesturing to all of the people with distaste.

"Alright stand down. Get back to work." Jack said, taking a step toward Rose.

"But Jack-" The woman said again.

"But nothing Gwen. Get back to work." He said, pointing at the desks.

A few seconds passed and then they all put down their weapons. They all slowly went back to their desks and then Jack pulled her into a hug. "I missed you Jack."

"Yah same here. You were gone for a long time Rose. Again why aren't you blonde?" He asked.

"Well when the Doctor sent me to the parallel universe I became a time lord due to the Bad Wolf thing. I would explain more but I have somewhere to be." The Professor said, pulling Koschei up to meet Jack.

Jack's face went stoic and his hand went to his gun, "Rose that's the Master."

Koschei sighed, "Yah I know. The drums and trying to destroy the world and all that but he's not like that anymore. I cleaned his head." The Professor said, tapping Koschei's head.

Jack's jaw clenched but he relaxed, "Are you sure?" He asked.

"Positive." She said, linking arms with him. "He wouldn't hurt a fly."

Jack looked at the linked arms, "Are you two..." He trailed off.

Koschei blushed and his eyes widened, "No. No no no." He said, taking a big step away from the Professor. "The Doctor would have me thrown in a black hole."

"Ahhhhh, so you and the Doctor are-"

"Yes. Now about me being here. I need a place for Koschei to stay. I can give him enough money to stay in a hotel but he might need a place where he won't get into trouble so what better place than Torchwood." She said with a smile. Jack sighed, "Please Jack. He'll only be here for a couple of days. I'll owe you one." She said, clasping her hands together and looking at him with wide eyes.

Jack sighed again, "Alright but if he tries to pull something, I'm locking him up."

"Thank you so much." The Professor said, throwing her arms around him. "I owe you one Jack." She pulled away and gave him a peck on the check. Then she turned around and gave Koschei a hug. "I'll be back soon." She pulled him off the slab of concrete and climbed back on. "Stay out of trouble."

The slab of concrete rose up, "Come visit soon Rosie. You need to tell me all about your adventures."

"Koschei knows a lot of them ask him." She called down.

Space bar...

In a space bar far away there sits a rather large blue skinned alien that knows something that most aliens don't know about. He goes by the name of Dorium and as he packed his things and looked around his bar, he said the word, "Goodbye."

He opened his briefcase and looked through it, checking to see if he had everything, when a voice from behind filled the room, "You appear to be closing down, Dorium. What have you heard?"

Dorium turned around to see a woman with an eye patch flanked by two guards. He sat down and opened his pack, content on counting his jewels while they talked. "That you pricked the side of a mighty beast, Madame Kovarian, and entirely failed to run. I admire your courage. I should like to admire it from afar." He said, moving the guns that had been pointed at his head. The soldiers put them down.

"We've been waiting a month. He's done nothing." Madame Kovarian said, her voice filled with arrogance.

"Do you really think so? There are people all over this galaxy that owe that man a debt. By now, a few of month will have found a blue box waiting for them on their doorstep, poor devils." He said, a small smile on his face.

"You think he's raising an army?" Colonel Manton asked.

"You think he isn't? If that man is collecting on his debts, God help you, and God help his debtors. One exceptionally powerful one may be with him already." Dorium said, shaking his head.

"Who?" Colonel Manton asked.

"Colonel Manton, surely you've heard the stories. Of a golden eyed beauty who held the galaxy within her hands. A woman who travelled with him." Dorium paused, looking at Madame Kovarian. "And all those stories you've heard about him, they're not stories, they're true. Really. You're not telling me you don't know what's coming." He said, looking back down at his jewels.

"Are you referring to Bad Wolf?" Madame Kovarian asked. Dorium only stared, the answer in his eyes. "That's only a legend."

"We're wasting our time here." Manton said.

"Agreed." Madame Kovarian said almost immediately after.

"The asteroid, where you've made you base. Do you know why they call it Demon's Run?" Dorium said, smiling.

"How do you know the location of our base?" Manton asked with a glare.

"You're with the Headless Monks. They're old customers of mine." He answered.

"It's just some old saying." Kovarian said, looking amused with Dorium's games.

"A very old saying. The oldest. Demons run when a good man goes to war." He said, his voice taking on an ominous tone.

Demon's Run...

A voice spoke over an intercom. The sound resonated throughout the entire place, "Reminder. Do not interact with Headless Monks without divine permission. Do not interact with Headless Monks without divine permission."

Two cleric soldiers were walking around on the Demons Run docking bay. "A whole cyber legion though. He just blew them all up to make a point." One of them said.

"We're being paid to fight him, not praise him. Praising costs way more." The other guy said.

They walked into a lift, "Level Minus Twenty Three Transcept." One of them said.

"Digger says he once chased the Atraxi off a planet, then called them back for a scolding."

"Fight him, not praise him." The thinner one said as they walked.

A voice spoke over an intercom. The sound resonated throughout the entire place, "Reminder. Do not interact with Headless Monks without divine permission. Do not interact with Headless Monks without divine permission."

The Fat One saw that his friend was staring at the Headless Monks, "You're not supposed to stare at them. And if they think you're trying to see under their hoods, they'll kill you on the spot." He explained.

"But why are they called the Headless Monks? They can't really be headless?" The Thin one asked.

A girl cleric soldier stood by. She overheard the conversation and spoke up, "They believe the domain of faith is the heart, and the domain of doubt is the head. They follow their hearts, that's all." She said.

"You're Lorna Bucket, aren't you?" The Thin one asked.

"Yeah." She answered.

"Hello. I'm the Thin One. this is my husband, He's the Fat One." He explained, gesturing to himself and the man beside him.

"Don't you have names?" Lorna asked.

"We're the thin fat gay married Anglican marines. Why would we need names as well?" The Fat one asked. Three headless monks approached them. "Oh, looks like I'm off. Time for my conversion tutorial. See you in a bit." He said, smiling at his husband. He turned to the headless monks, "Do you have Lent? Because I'm not good at giving things up." He said, as they walked out of sight.

The Thin one looked at Lorna, "Lorna Bucket. You've had an encounter, haven't you? You've met him." Another woman stood by, eavesdropping on the conversation. She wore a hat that held up her hair and she was looking down at a electronic device in her hand. She cocked her head slightly to listen.

"I was just a kid." She said.

The eavesdropping woman took a small step toward them. "But what's he like? The Doctor." The Thin one asked.

"He said run." She answered.

The woman chuckled slightly, "Just run?" The Thin one asked.

"He said it a lot." She said.

"And this was in the Gamma Forests, yeah? Because you're a Gamma girl, aren't you? What are you doing here? The Forests are heaven neutral." The Thin one asked.

"Yeah and thirty seconds of the Doctor is the only thing that ever happened there." Lorna answered.

The woman chuckled louder and the Thin one glanced at her, "Who are you? I haven't seen you around." He said, taking a step toward her.

The woman looked up at him, tucking a stray brown hair behind her ear. She had a smile on her face. "I'm Rose. Rose Noble. My unit was just transferred in." She answered, nodding at them. "I overheard you guys talking about the Doctor."

"Yah." Lorna said, nodding.

"He's not as great as he seems." She said, looking back down at the electronic device in her hand.

"You've met him?" The Thin one asked.

"Yah. Pretty cute if I do say so myself." She said, chuckling.

"What was he like?" The Thin one asked again.

Rose smiled and looked up at him, "He grabbed my hand... and whispered run." She looked at Lorna and smiled wider. Then she disappeared down a hallway.

The Thin One turned back to Lorna, "Anyway, what do you think? If the Doctor's coming here, where is he?"

"He's the Doctor. He could be anywhere in time and space." She answered pulling back a lever.

~Forward In Time~

Amy stood watching out of the huge window that took up a wall in her room. She watched Colonel Manton stand tall on the stage, "He's not the devil. He is not a god. He is not a goblin, or a phantom or a trickster. The Doctor is a living, breathing man, and as I look around this room I know one thing. We're sure as hell going to fix that." He said, a smile appearing on his face. Amy scoffed and shook her head as she heard the yells of approval from the troops.

Amy turned her head at the sound of the doors closing. Lorna cautiously walked toward Amy with a thing in her hands. "Sorry. I shouldn't be here. I'm meant to be at the thing." Lorna said, gesturing out the window. "I brought you something. Your child's name in the language on my people. It's a prayer leaf and we believe, if you keep this with you, your child will always come home to you." Lorna said, a small smile on her face.

Amy stared at her for a second, "Can I borrow your gun?" She asked.

"Why?" Lorna asked, confused.

"Because I've got a feeling you're going to keep talking." Amy said, hostility in her voice. She turned back to the window, "They're talking like he's famous. The Doctor isn't famous." She said, quietly.

Lorna looked down, "You're the second person to tell me that today." She said.

Amy looked back at her, "Who was the first?"

"Another woman soldier." Lorna said, looking puzzled.

"What was her name?" Amy asked.

"Rose." Lorna said. Amy smiled and looked back out the window. "He meets a lot of people. A lot of them remember. He's sort of like a, I don't know, a dark legend." Lorna said, smiling slightly.

"Dark? Have you met him?" Amy asked.

"Yeah. But I was just a little girl." Lorna answered.

Amy looked at her, "So was I." She whispered, her voice filled with emotion.

"You've been with him a long time, then."

"No. He came back for me." Amy said, smiling.

"You must be very special." Lorna said, smiling.

"Hey. You can wait a long time for the Doctor, but he's worth it, okay?" Amy said, walking toward Lorna. "The thing is, he's coming. No question about it. Just make sure you're on the right side when he gets here. Not for my sake, for yours." She said, taking the prayer leaf out of her hand. "Thank you."

Outside of Amy's prison, Colonel Manton continued to talk to his army. "On this day, in this place, the Doctor will fall." He yelled.

"Hoo Rah!" The army screamed back, all except for one woman standing in the front. She stood with her head down, her hat covering her face as she hid in the front row. It was the same one that had talked with Lorna and the Thin One.

"The Man who talks, the man who reasons, the man who lies, will meet the perfect answer." Colonel Manton continued.

Again the army yelled, "Hoo Rah!"

"Some of you may have wondered why we have allied ourselves with the Headless Monks. Perhaps you should have wondered why we call them Headless. It's time you knew what these guys have sacrificed for faith. A you all know, it is a Level One Heresy, punishable by death, to lower the hood of a Headless Monk. But by the divine grant of the Papal Mainframe herself, on this one and only occasion, I can show you the truth." He turned around to look at the three Headless Monks that stood behind him. He walked up to the first one. "Because these guys never can be persuaded." Manton lowered the hood of the first Headless Monk. The crowd was filled with looks of horror as they stared at a literal headless monk. "They never can be afraid." Manton said as he lowered the hood of the second Headless Monk. "And they can never ever be-" Manton started as he walked toward the third headless monk.

"Surprised!" The Doctor said as he lowered his own hood. "Ha, ha! Hello, everyone. Guess who. Please, point a gun at me if it helps you relax." Gasps erupted everywhere as the army took aim. Along with the Headless Monks who got their swords ready. Well all except for Lorna and the woman in the front row. The woman looked up at him and smiled widely. "You're only human."

Colonel Manton took out his gun and pointed it at the Doctors head, "Doctor, you will come with me right now." He said trying to sound threatening.

"Three minutes forty seconds. Amelia Pond! Get your coat!" The Doctor shouted and then the lights went out. When they came back on he wasn't there and neither was the woman in the front row.
