Well isn't this is a surprise! I'm updating! Thankfully the updates for this story won't be as long as the huge gap I took with this one. There were some things I had to sort out before writing and I'm all good now. This is pretty short but it's the best I could do today. I swear next one will be longer. Anyway, Enjoy! :)

Last time: Amy looked toward Rose who looked just as shocked as she was, "I'm sorry." Amy said again, looking into Amy's eyes. "I'm so sorry."

And the Doctor still ran his legs kicking into overdrive as he sprinted down the hallway the only thought in his mind being, Amy! Amy! Need to get to Amy! Maybe there's still time. There still has to be time. Little did he know his prayers were in vain. He hit a door and after a few moments of struggling and screaming he ran through, "Amy, she's not really Melody. she's a flesh avatar! Amy!" He yelled. He ran into the room breathless, "Amy! Amy." He said as he ran into the room.

Rory was standing alone in the middle of a room filled with dead monks. He turned solemnly to the Doctor, "Yeah we know.

Strax was on the ground behind him breathing heavily. Rory quickly walked over to him wanting to give him some sense of comfort. "It's strange I have often dreamed of dying in combat," He stated his words weak and broken. A small smile broke out on his lips, "I'm not enjoying it as much as I'd hoped." He said closing his eyes. The Doctor looked at the scene regret in his eyes.

"Come on, Strax. Don't give up." Rory encouraged.

"It's alright. I've had a good life." Strax reassured his breathing worsening. "I'm nearly twelve." He finished a smile appearing and dissappearing as fast as it came.

"Listen to me." Rory said with authority. "You'll be back on your feet in no time. You're a warrior."

Strax sighed, "Rory..." He said catching his breath. "I'm a nurse." Strax wheezed.

The Doctor turned his attention to Amy who was sitting on a cargo box with Jenny comforting her. She was staring off into space, not noticing anything going around her. Rose was sitting next to her, her hand on Amy's. She saw the Doctor and her stare hardened.

The Doctor walked over anyway twiddling his hands. Amy looked up slowly her gaze focusing on his face. "So they took her away anyway." She said despair in her voice. "All this was for nothing." She added. Tears started to fall and Rose tightened her grip.

The Doctor looked down, "I am so..." Amy stood up, though she didn't mean to, she was glaring at the Doctor, "Sorry."

Amy continued to cry and Rose stood beside her looking at somewhere beside the Doctor not daring to look him in the eyes. The Doctor went to hug her and Amy flinched back. "Amy it's not his fault." Rose said.

The glare dissappeared, "I know." She said glancing back at Rose. " I know." She added quickly, not knowing if she was telling them or herself. She turned the tears started to comsume her. Rory went after her placing a hand on her shoulder and pulling her into a tight hug.

Vastra came around the corner, "Doctor, there's someone who wants to speak to you. Her name is Lorna. She came to warn us."

The Doctor followed her and found her propped up only by the stairs. She didn't look like she had long. He scanned her with the screwdriver and read the diagnosis. He rubbed his face and sighed.

Lorna lifted her head, "Hey. Hello." The Doctor said quietly.

She smiled, "Doctor." She breathed out.

"You helped my friends. Thank you." He said gratefully.

"I met you once... In the gamma forests... You don't remember me." She said her smile falling along with her tears.

"Hey of course I remember. I remember everyone." He said placing a hand on her cheek. "Hey, we ran, you and me. Didn't we run, Lorna?" He asked with a smile.

She smiled and her head fell to rest on her shoulder, her last breath turning into a sigh as her eyelids fell closed. The Doctor looked back at Vastra, "Who was she?" He asked.

"I don't know, but she was very brave." Vastra answered looking at the girl.

The Doctor looked into the distance swallowing down the sadness, "They're always brave." He stroked her face again, "They're always brave." He muttered again turning back to look at Rose who was sitting with Jenny.

"So, what now?" Vastra asked. "They'd almost certainly have taken to Earth. Raise her in the correct environment."

"Yes they did, and it's already too late." The Doctor said defeat in his voice.

Vastra looked disbelievingly at him, "You're giving up? You never do that!"

"Yeah, and don't you sometimes wish I did?" He snapped walking toward his Tardis.

Just then what sounded like thunder crashed and River's voice filled the room, "Well then soldier. How goes the day?"

Rose who had previously been quiet smiled sadly at River and walked over, "River." She said happily pulling her into a hug.

Rose stood beside her knowing exactly how things were gonna go down but at the same time having no idea. The Doctor slowly turned rage stirring in his expression. It touche neither River nor Rose. "Where the hell have you been? Every time you've asked, I have been there. Where the hell were you today?" He said tears brimming in his eyes.

"I couldn't have prevented this." She said.

"You could've tried." He growled turning around to walk away.

"And so, my dear Doctor, could you." Rose said stepping forward.

River turned to Amy and Rory, "I know you're not alright but hold tight, Amy, because you're going to be.

The Doctor ignored her, staring at Rose. "You think I wanted this?" I didn't do this. This- This wasn't me!" He said pointing at all of it.

Rose stepped up fire in her eyes, "This was exactly you. All this, all of it. You make them so afraid, so scared." The Doctor turned and started to pace. "When you began all those years ago adventuring did you ever think you would become this?" She said narrowing her eyes at him, "When you picked me up did you predict this?" She said softer, "You're the man who can turn an army around at the mention of his name 'Doctor'. The word for 'healer' throughout the universe. We got that word from you, you know." She said smiling a bit. The smile disappeared, "But if you keep acting like this, what will the word 'Doctor' mean? To the people of the Gamma Forests, the word means 'mighty warrior'." She said stealing a glance towards where Lorna's body was. "And now they've taken a child, the child of your best friends no less. And you want to know what they're going to do to her?" She asked him tilting her head to the side with narrowed eyes, "They're going to turn her into a weapon just to bring you down. And all of this, my dear Doctor. All of it. Every single atom and moment, in fear of you."
