I can not believe it has been more than a full year since I updated this. My author's notes promises mean nothing and I'm sorry this took so long ;-;. There will be another update tomorrow(don't believe me if you want but it'll be there). I really hope the gaps between these chapters aren't going to be as long as this one but... I'm not the best at... deadlines. ANYWAY there will be one more adventure for the Doctor and Rose before this story truly comes to a close(kind of). Enjoy?

Last time: "They're going to turn her into a weapon just to bring you down. And all of this, my dear Doctor. All of it. Every single atom and moment, in fear of you." She said colder than the Doctor had ever heard her speak before.

"How do you know this?" He whispered. That was when Rose stepped back and the Doctor was met with the sight of a smiling River. He stalked forward, "Who are you?" He asked cooly though his face told a different story.

River looked over his shoulder at the old cot, "Oh, look, your cot. Haven't seen that in a very long while. " She said quickly walking over to it. The Doctor grabbed her arm and followed after her.

"No. No. You tell me who you are." He said looking her in the eyes as they stood over his cot.

She took his arm and her voice softened, "I am telling you." She placed his hand around the bulb at the foot of the cot. "Can't you read?"

The Doctor looked down at the cot and then slowly looked back up at River. They smiled and the Doctor didn't look like he knew what to say. Rose smiled with them looking on standing next to Amy and Rory. "Hello." The Doctor said happily.

"Hello." River responded.

The Doctor giggled with delight, "But- But that means…"

"I'm afraid it does." River said smiling.

The Doctor laughed and looked back at Amy and Rory with a wide smile. He laughed again and looked back at River. He straightened his bow tie, "How do I look?"

"Amazing." River said smiling at Rose.

The Doctor spun around, "Vastra and Jenny, until next time. Amy, Rory I know where to find your daughter and on my life she will be safe, River get them all home and Rose you're coming with me." The Doctor said gesturing for her to follow as he turned to walk quickly towards the Tardis. Rose ran after him. He got his sonic screwdriver out and disabled the force field.

"Doctor!" Rory yelled.

"No!" Amy screamed running after him as he and Rose walked into the Tardis, "Where are you going? No!"The Doctor looked out and pointed at River with a smile on his face. And with that he closed the door and the Tardis dematerialized.

Amy and Rory looked on as it disappeared. Then Amy turned on River, "Where are they going? What did you tell him?" She asked through her teeth.

"Amy, you have to stay calm." River said with her hands on the cot.

Amy picked up a gun off the floor, cocked it, and pointed it at River, "Tell me what you told the Doctor." She demanded as both Jenny and Vastra tensed.

"Amy no. Stop it." Rory demanded.

"It's okay Rory. She's fine. She's good." River said calmly. "It's the Tardis translation matrix. It takes awhile to kick in with the written word. You have to concentrate."

Amy stared at the engraving on the side of the cot but the words never appeared. Her grip tightened on the gun and she looked back at River, "I still can't read it." Rory's hands closed around hers trying to get the gun away.

" It's because it's Gallfreyan and doesn't translate." Rory slowly pulled the gun away from Amy as River picked up the sewn leaf from inside the cot. She grabbed Amy's hand, "But this will." She placed the prayer leaf in her hand. "It's your daughter's name, in the language of the forest." River explained.

"I know my daughter's name." Amy snapped.

"Except they don't have a word for 'pond' because the only water in the forest is the river." She said as Amy looked down at it. "The Doctor will find your daughter and he will care for her, whatever it takes and so will Rose. And I know that." Amy looked down at the words waiting for them to translate. Slowly the word Rhalk changed into River and she turned it over to see the word Song written on the other side. She looked back up at River in surprise, "It's me. I'm Melody. I'm your daughter." Amy and Rory stared at her surprise etched into their faces.
