Chapter 4 – First Piece

Zekram POV

Well, shit. I knew I shouldn't have permitted him to ask me anything he wants! Now this green-haired psycho will keep me here the entire day to satiate his curiosity. Well not like I can do much about it, instead of him going to Sirzechs and playing 21 questions with him, it was better that I just answer his questions and get it done with.

"So, what is it you want to know?" I enquired.

"Everything. I know about his condition at birth. I was there when the doctor announced the results. The kid was born with lesser demonic power than reincarnated devils. For him to go from THAT to THIS… no amount of training in the world can do it. What exactly happened? I want the truth and I promise everything said here will stay between us," Ajuka spoke. I like this kid. To the point and logical. If only he was the leader of the Devil Faction a lot of the mess caused in the devil faction would have been taken care of.

So, I told him everything. From the kid's treatment at home; him finding the ritual library and performing that atrocious ritual which led to his heart being replaced by a block of ice that beats; then the day I spoke to him in the garden and trained him alongside Sairaorg; and finally, I informed Ajuka about the events of today and a few of his powers. Suffice to say that the green-haired mad scientist was too shocked to even continue writing.

After that Ajuka spoke two words that accurately described the situation, "Well fuck."

Same time with the group – 3rd Person P.O.V

The group of the 4 young devils were walking down the hallways of the Bael castle. Valerian was listening to Vali chatter on and on about potential candidates for her peerage that she would assemble in the future. She only had 4 people so far: Lavinia Reni, the wielder of Absolute Demise, a Longinus that grants the user extremely potent ice magic wielding powers; Bikou, the descendant of Son Goku the monkey sage, a funny guy she met while she was on an assignment for Azazel and he is currently working for Azazel alongside Arthur and LeFay Pendragon, a brother-sister duo who have descended from the King of Ancient Britain, the wielder of the original Excalibur. Azazel had come across them when they were detected in a town controlled by fallen angels and quickly put them under his protection before someone could eliminate them. Valerian was happy she was going to get such strong members for her peerage.

Sairaorg on the other hand was walking behind them with his fiancé who was still breathing heavily due to being exposed to Valerian's aura and not being used to it. She was by no means weak, but compared to the others she fell short. Valerian had apologized multiple times and Kuisha had just smiled and forgiven him. She would be alright with some rest.

The group came to sudden halt when Valerian stood up straight and stopped dead in his tracks.

"Is everything alright, love?" Vali asked her fiancé as she got slightly worried seeing the faraway look in his eyes.

A few seconds later he replied saying, "Yeah, just felt a strange pull tugging at my mind. Took a few seconds to realize that it was one of the summoning fliers I had scattered across the human world. It's the first time it has happened so I was a little alarmed there. I'll be back in a while, need to get this over with. You guys go on ahead."

As he said that, he gave Vali a quick peck on her lips before disappearing in lilac and black magic circle bearing the Lucifuge House symbol in the center.

Human World – Magical Britain – Forbidden Forest of Hogwarts

Stepping out of the magic circle, Valerian gazed intently at his surroundings. It seemed like he was in some sort of a forest as he could see many trees and shrubs surrounding him, along with the mud and fog surrounding him, giving off a dark and gloomy effect.

There were also many people surrounding him wearing rich, black cloaks and had silver masks hanging of their sides. They also had wands in their hands, giving him a big clue about who the hell these idiots were. In front of him, who seemed like the leader, was a man pale white skin, a skeletally thin body, and dark scarlet eyes with cat-like slits for pupils. He had a chalk-white face that resembled a skull, snake-like slits for nostrils, and large hands with unnaturally long fingers like spider's legs.

'Human wizards,' he mused. 'This should be interesting.'

"Ah," the red-eyed man said in a high, cold voice, "I didn't think the summoning would work, much less summon a devil that is so... human-like." He finished with his British accent, as he looked at Valerian as a king would a peasant. That did not sit well with the new heir of the Lucifuge Family now. His family's main two sins were Pride and Wrath, and the way the bastard looked down on him did not sit well with the man.

"British wizards? I've heard a lot about you. You have unique magical spells that could cause trouble to our kind. As interesting as it is, why have you summoned me, Human?" Valerian said in a cold, questioning tone.

It seemed that the followers didn't like the way a 'mere' devil was talking to their leader like a commoner, as a commotion was raised, but was quickly settled by the snake-like man.

"It's all right, my friends," the man said, "It's not the ignorant devil's fault he doesn't know who I, Lord Voldemort, am!" The man raised his thin arms in a condescending, placating manner. "The reason why I summoned you is to become more powerful. And the way to do that... is to drain you of all your power!" His face twisted into a power-hungry and sadistic expression.

As the man, now identified as Lord Voldemort, said, glowing grey runes lit up under Valerian. Ambient magic in the atmosphere started powering up the runes, intent of sucking Valerian of all his worth.

"Hmm, it looks like a cheap replica of the Great Devouring Ritual that my great-grandfather created. I wonder how you got your hands on that. Someone must have summoned him before and asked for more power or some shit and he must have given a watered-down version of it away. Doesn't matter anyway. It would have probably done something to me if you were more powerful, but you're at most as powerful as a Middle-Class devil, something insignificant in my eyes." Valerian analysed as his cold and emotionless mask appeared. Suddenly, the temperature started to drop at an alarming rate as he flexed his demonic powers.

The grey runes that were full of magic suddenly stopped as black and purple crystal-like ice washed over them and covered the entire ground, freezing even the magic within it. The ice on the grass suddenly shot out at inhuman speed, before covering the feet of all the people with black cloaks, rendering them immobile.

"I-impossible! That's not possible! How can a mere devil freeze even magic itself!" Voldemort said in disbelief. Quickly calming his beating heart, Voldemort waved his wand and pointed it at Valerian, yelling out, "Avada Kadavra!"

A flash of blinding green light travelled from his wand and towards the young devil. Now, Valerian could just let his automatic defence take care of this but he decided to show the exact difference in the power level between their races. He let the jet of light hit him and could hear the group of humans laughing. That laughter soon died however, and was replaced with shock, disbelief and despair. Valerian was still standing. Alive.

The spell that guaranteed instant death did not even scratch his clothes, let alone kill him. What the actual fuck was going on?!

"That spell guarantees instant death, right? I believe Lucifer had given this spell to a human wizard in exchange for his soul as he wanted power. Quite like you. However, Lucifer was not an idiot. This spell works on removing the soul of the person the spell strikes and can only work on humans. The other supernatural races like devils and angels have their soul to tightly bound to their body and hence you cannot sever their soul. Even if you are stronger than them, it would only paralyze your target for some time, ranging from a day to a few months. Still believe yourself to be stronger human?" Valerian questioned, hands in his pockets and a smirk on his face.

The wizards just stood their silently. Seeing no reply coming from them, he simply informed them, "I'll see you in hell. Or not."

That was the only warning they got before the ice covering the ground suddenly turned into spears and shot forward towards the group in front of him, skewering their heads. Moments later, everyone was dead. Well, almost everyone.

"A complete waste of time," Valerian sighed as he turned around. As he was preparing to move out of there, he saw 2 women still breathing. From what he could see, one of them had blocked the spear while the other one had erected a shield around them to stop the ice from coming closer to them as there was a patch of grass beneath their feet that was not covered in ice. Ice that was comparable to the one in Cocytus.

That intrigued him. No one should be able to survive that attack. The speed was off the charts and there was no spell that he knew about that could have allowed her to block it. Raising his eyebrows, he silently made his way towards the lady. From what he could observe, she was a tall woman of white skin; and long, thick, shiny dark hair. Her face had a strong jaw, thin lips, and heavily-lidded eyes with long eyelashes. She looked as if she had seen better days though. Her expression was full of fear and awe. It seemed like she somehow blocked the ice as she was still alive, something that could not be said about her comrades.

"To think someone would be able to defend against my attack," Valerian said as he grabbed the woman's face and turned it to the side, "What is your name, Human?"

"B…Bellatrix. Bellatrix Lestrange," The woman said in slight fear.

"Well Bellatrix Lestrange, I see potential in you. You were able to block an attack that not even your idiotic master could. Although your power is nothing, only comparable to a high Low-Class devil in power, you wizards have very nasty spells that can harm beings stronger than you," Valerian said as he looked at the woman in an appraising manner. "Join me, become a devil, and part of my peerage. You can gain power your old master would never dream of. You will be with a group that would actually value you."

Bellatrix was in a dilemma. This young man just killed the man she has been following for years like it was nothing. Part of her wanted to tell the devil to shove it, try to kill him, or both. Another part of her wanted to accept this deal so badly. She was a person who believed in power. The strong would always be the ones that dominated. As a daughter of the Black Family that is what she had been taught since childhood.

Now in front of her was this person who had slaughtered all of her comrades in seconds, saw potential in her and offered her power, how could she refuse?

"I-I accept, Master," Bellatrix said in a submissive tone with a fanatic look on her face as she gazed at Valerian.

"Good," Valerian said in a cold, pleased tone. "And who might you be? You seem capable enough since you could stop my spell from approaching you two through the ground."

The woman he was referring to was tall as well with luscious blonde hair and blue eyes, a slim figure and a sharp jaw accompanied with pink, full lips. Everything about her just screamed MILF. She also looked a little similar to Bellatrix. Valerian thought that they were sisters or cousins at least.

"Narcissa, milord. Narcissa Black, Bellatrix's sister," the now identified Narcissa answered, with more confidence than her sister at least.

"Hmm, you seem competent too. From the flow of your magic, I believe you are some sort of healer?" the woman nodded, confirming his suspicion. 'She could make an excellent healer for Vali and knowing her, she is more than likely to be in need for this woman in the future,' the silver-haired, blindfolded youth thought.

"Very well, you can come with us too. I believe I have some use for you after all."

"Let's go, my peerage members. We will complete the ceremony at my home," Valerian said as he returned to his usual cold tone.

"Yes, Master," the women spoke in unison, in a submissive manner. The young king and his two servants were about to disappear in a magic circle when they were alerted of several pops in the area as a large group of people just made their way towards them.

'More wizards,' Valerian thought with a sigh. He knew there would some sort of drama now that these guys were here. A spectacled youth was leading them with a bushy-haired girl and a ginger, who could definitely use a shower, by his side. The two women just moved behind him, confirming his theory that there was going to be some sort of drama now.

"Yes, can I help you lot?" he asked with a voice so cold, everyone felt a shiver down their backs while the dark-haired woman behind him rubbed her thighs together due to the power oozing out of his voice.

"Uhm… Hi. My name is Hermione Granger. If it is alright with you, we would like to ask you some questions. Could you come inside with us?" the bushy-haired girl, Hermione, spoke up as she gestured towards the castle. Valerian was annoyed but thought of just getting it over with and as such he nodded. But if the fuckers thought they would be walking there they had another thing coming. Without waiting for the wizards, he simply turned around and grabbed the two women behind them by their waist and released his wings, before seemingly disappearing in the night sky.

10 minutes later – Hogwarts Great Hall

The heir of the Lucifuge family could be seen sitting on the headmaster's throne at Hogwarts, his subordinates by his side. One by one, people began to trickle in until the entire hall was packed.

He rose an eyebrow at the crowd gathered in front of him and asked, "So, what is it you need from me wizards? I don't have an eternity to spend here?"

The same girl from before came forward, Hermione he recalled and spoke, "Uhm, hi. My name is Hermione Granger and if it is possible, we would like to know a few things, if that is alright with you Mr…"

"Lucifuge. Valerian Lucifuge."

"Are you really a devil?" the shabby looking ginger by her side asked, quite rudely in fact. His friends and everyone looked at him like they wanted to murder the idiot. 'Well, can't blame them. He looks as mentally capable as an ape, even less perhaps.'

"Yes, I am a devil."

Some of the idiots looked scared as if he was going to go rip them apart and eat their soul or something. Many of them looked like they wanted to go next and Valerian honestly didn't want to deal with this right so he just summoned a book about the History of Devil kind up till the peerage system was established. He tossed it to Hermione and said, "That contains the History of our kind so only ask important questions that are not related to it."

"Where are you taking her? She deserves to pay for her crimes?" a tall, brown-haired boy answered as he looked at Bellatrix with nothing but hatred and disgust. Valerian recognised that looked. It was the same one Vali had when she spoke about the other members of House Lucifer. A look of vengeance.

"She shows promise. She will be turned into a devil and shall live alongside our kind from now on. Same for the blonde."

"But she deserves to pay for her crimes! Do you know how many crimes she has committed?! The atrocities she and her filthy group have taken part it?!"

"No. But she is about to join my ranks. I can't hand her over to you."

A few people looked ready to shout and rant, even Bellatrix looked like she wanted to kill the ones in front of her for daring to shout at her master. It was then Valerian noticed something. Bellatrix's magic was conflicting. She herself looked to be actively trying to push down the feelings of hate and anger.

Of course! Now he understood. Ah, this job had just gotten simpler.

Valerian suddenly got up and stood in front of Bellatrix, the hall had become completely silent at that point. He brought his left hand forward and it began to glow green before he thrust his hand inside her chest. Gasps could be heard across the room, but moments later Valerian pulled his hand out and Bella fainted but Narcissa caught her. When he turned around, the boy wearing glasses, the ginger and the girl holding the book looked very pale.

"Ah, now I see. This explains a lot," he said before turning towards the same boy who wanted to pay for her crimes with a black gaseous substance in his hand, "Hey avenger. This thing here is the culprit for whatever has befallen on your community due to the lady behind me. This what you call a Hocrux. A piece of the soul of another person. It seems Bella here had been possessed by the snake-like man who had been controlling her actions for 20 years now it seems."

Everyone paled at that. Especially a certain ginger. She had been subjected to the same fate for a few months and she felt horrible under it. To bear it for almost two decades? How much of her sanity will be retained?

"Also, you should thank her," Valerian continued, still looking at the brown-haired boy, "I read her mind right now. She did have brief moments where she retained her consciousness. One such moment was when she was ordered to kill a baby but instead, she hid the child in a cupboard so others would not find him. A few moments later authorities seized her and the baby was found. I believe you know what I am talking about, Neville Longbottom?"

Everyone's eyes widened at that. They simultaneously turned towards Neville who looked ghostly white and ready to collapse, which he did but an Irish boy held him up and conjured a chair for him. Everyone looked at him with sympathy clear in their eyes. Meanwhile, Neville's mind was swarmed by emotions. She had saved him? He did not believe it but he realised that the stranger had no reason to lie to him. He just looked up towards him with tears streaming down his face and muttered a 'thank you', before he started sobbing.

After the entire question and answer fiasco, Valerian was ready to leave. He had already given them his contract fliers and told them if they were interested in learning more, they could contract him through that. They should simply utter the phrase written on top and he will appear, but if they summon him for something stupid, he will put them in a coma.

He was just about to leave when his eyes picked up a particularly unique aura. It was green and looked almost like a sea serpent. Wanting to check that out, he created a magical circle and carried Bellatrix in his arms as Narcissa followed behind, and teleported into that chamber. It was there he was surprised. it was dirty little chamber yet there was a decaying corpse of a huge 70-feet long basilisk. He had seen the infamous Hydra and lived with Balerion, yet this basilisk was unusually long. It must have been alive for a millennium at least and that was interesting. He knew if he sold the parts of the basilisk after harvesting it, he would make quite a huge amount of money. So, he kept it in his pocket dimension.

He looked around for a bit and found another surprise awaiting him inside the mouth of the statue that was present in the chamber. He assumed it was the owner. The chamber inside was filled with sjulls of various animals so he assumed this was the quarters of the dead creature whose corpse he had just stolen. He was about to return back and leave for his estate when he felt a bind trying to form in between him and another creature. A familiar bond. He knew this as it was customary for every Lucifuge Lord to bond with Balerion and Nymeria since they are the guardians of the estate. Yet this one was different. This felt… personal.

He turned his head around and that was when he saw a spherical object looking back at him. An egg. It was jet black and had red swirls around it. A basilisk egg. The moment he touched it, the egg began to crack and moments later, a two-feet long, black serpent with red eyes and red spikes across its body slithered out and gazed at him straight in the eye. He knew he wouldn't die as one, he was wearing a blindfold, and two, basilisks have three eyelids that they can open and close at will.

The snake hissed at him, as if ordering him to accept the bond, something he found amusing. He accepted and at that moment he felt the thoughts of someone else, beside himself. It was the basilisk. Happiness was the most prominent emotion he could feel radiating of her.

"Lucia," he said smiling, not the usual cold ones he gave to make people uncomfortable. No, this one radiated nothing but warmth. "Your name shall be Lucia."
