Warning only for this chapter: Blood, chrakter death, dismembering a corpse
Louis yawned heartily as he climbed out of his luckily still single booth. In his opinion, this can continue to be the case. Constantly taking care of others or maybe taking care of four to six brats was already too much for him when he was watching his relatives or others. As he stretched and scratched his back, he suddenly heard something. So something else besides the morning noise from his butt.
"Oh my mammoth, did you just see that?" Steffie whispered enthusiastically as she watched this manly dude climb out of his earth cave whom she watched from a bush. This body and this size was simply everything a pachyderm could wish for.
"Yeah, totally sexy." Katie agreed, standing next to the other mammoth, hoping to get noticed a little more this time. After all, she had specially bathed in rose petals. At least she assumed they were rose petals. She was never good at separating the undergrowth.
"Huh?" The prickly one looked around, because he could swear he heard something. Never mind, he thought, shrugging his shoulders to gather his breakfast.
"I don't think I can make it through the day. Can you believe that? He bends down. Just like that and so wonderful." The brown mammoth could hardly bear to watch this.
"So elegant and at the same time so masculine. Just wow!" The brighter animal next to it whispered and fanned itself with a large leaf of air because it was suddenly much too warm for it.
"These two again." Said the molehog annoyed on the other side of the place when he noticed the women. He wondered if they were going to bother him all day again. Don't they understand that even a complete man like him needs a break from mounting. Lying and being carried on their furry backs all the time is exhausting for a guy like him. Then he shouldn't let himself be seen too much with these mammoths, that's getting embarrassing. It's a good thing that his relatives belong to the nocturnal animals. But no matter what these girls saw in him, he should also see this paranoia as a blessing. In times of need, the two were always close by. So it doesn't bother him if he continues to be friendly.
"Finally we have him to ourselves because Peaches hasn't been following him for days." The two of them weren't really chatting quietly anymore and he just listened while he gathered some things for the appetizer. He already had his main meal in his home. Or at least parts of it. This time he chopped up his food before because last time he left his food outside at the other end of his underground abode and had just been robbed during the night. His construction ended there on a cliff. Well, mistakes are there to learn from. He also left what he didn't like to right outside. You don't have to lug too much into the booth if you don't want to eat it later. This would be just wasting space.
"She should really spend time with her husband too, because that's why she married him. The whole valley with flowers had to be aware of it. 'Oh I love this clumsy guy who's not after my dad at all.' You ask her, girl, do you have eyes in your head? Even I and probably some of the other guests found it a little awkward when Manny had to lead Juls down the aisle and the two of them didn't let go of their trunks again." Katie said with a little rolling of her eyes because this day wasn't really nice.
"And I thought that's how it should be among male mammoths. Because what do we know about our customs and rules as real wild mammoths? Nothing. When the seven of us broke out of the enclosure of the humans who had carefully raised us with the bottle because our fake parents had traded us for smoke sticks. The real and hard world was so much better than those stupid tents where you were kept warm and fed. Yes, it got Chuck and Larry when they both had to make a butt bomb into this volcano, but it was worth the journey to get here." Steffie continued chattering cheerfully and watched the molehog collect some bugs on a large leaf. The bright mammoth nodded at the mention of their old not-so-good comrades and did the same as her friend. It went on for a while before they noticed something.
"Just so you know, I'll carry his child first." Said the blonde as if she had already been chosen.
"I don't know where you plan to carry our child, but I will be the one who will marry him." Said the other female mammoth, as if making a better argument.
"Now that we've been here for a few days, have you actually seen Meghan lately?" Louis also pricked up his ears when this was asked, but continued to pretend that he was collecting earthworms and maggots.
"Oh, you didn't even notice. The stupid mammoth dared to sneak away the other night. She surely wanted to come to this place to make herself more popular with my sunshine. Of course I immediately followed her and confronted her. I gave her the correct opinion and then went back to sleep. Surely she just doesn't dare to come near me again because she knows that she is unworthy." The brown mammoth said with her head held high and the mole hedgehog sighed with relief, because for a moment he actually believed that these naive things could have found out something about him. Pleased with his collection of insects, he waved again to the girls, who will then probably argue about which of the two he meant and he could turn to his good breakfast.
"Now that you're here, I actually like you the most Meghan, because you enjoy the quiet as much as I do." Louis joked as he bit into part of her leg. It was work cutting up a mammoth and then fitting the pieces into its burrow, but the food was worth the effort. Fate was kind to him the other night when the dark brown mammoth wanted to talk to him in front of his home and kicked a tree out of nervousness, which then killed her. He was surprised that no one else noticed, but he wouldn't complain. Killing these big animals himself would be very difficult for him and he didn't think he could blackmail the silver-haired tigress forever. By sheer coincidence, he caught Shira slaying a mammoth. Because the scent of the freshly killed creature seemed tempting to him, he promised not to say anything. But in return, she had to give him something because he was curious. He had always tasted a few carcasses here and there when saber-toothed tigers or wolves left them. But the more he ate, the more he realized it had to be fresher. The blood had to trickle warmly through his paws as he greedily stuffed the meat into his snout. But of course he also tried other animals, because maybe they tasted better. Unfortunately, it turned out that he still liked mammoths the most. He probably had to come up with something else, because of the other two in front of his home, should he run out of food sooner than planned. But the good Meghan still kept him company.
