Chapter 278: Invisible Things!
Naruto was on edge… after all Kyubi was right there was something invisible on this ship.
Although… what Naruto wasn't expecting was that the invisible thing would start playing with Luffy's face.
"Stop messing around Luffy." Said Sanji.
"No… this is serious." Said Naruto, "There's something invisible on board."
"What? Seriously?" asked Sanji.
That was when the invisible thing pushed Luffy through the hatch. Then it grabbed one of Zoro's swords. The invisible thing then tossed it at Naruto.
"Gaara!" called out Naruto.
Gaara nodded, she used his sand to create a cloud all around the deck, when he was able to determine where the invisible thing was he coated it with sand so it was now visible.
"All right Gaara!" cheered Luffy.
However suddenly the sand started to vanish.
"What happened to you sand?" asked Sakura.
"I don't know… I can still feel it, but can't be seen." Said Gaara.
"I'm going to go get Nami and Ino!" said Sanji decided to jump off the ship.
"Wait! Do you think that's a good idea?" asked Gaara.
"What do you mean?" asked Sanji.
"The invisible thing is probably going to grab you so you won't make it off the hip." Said Isaribi figuring out what Gaara was trying to tell him.
"Like I'd belie that!" yelled Sanji.
He jumped off the ship… only to slam to the side, lifted up and tossed across the deck.
"That idiom…" said Zoro.
"Saw that coming…" muttered Gaara.
That was when they saw Robin holding back the invisible thing. Thankfully Sakura mange to punch the invisible thing away.
"Thanks…" sighed Robin.
"You okay?" asked Naruto.
"It lick me…" she mumbled.
"Ewww…" said Naruto with a sweat drop.
That was when the seas were getting rough.
"Sakura! Get the anchor!" yelled Zoro.
"Oh right…" said Sakura.
"What do you think happened to the thing?" asked Luffy.
"I don't know… we don't know how fall it flew…" said Kiba.
"We can't worry about that now…" said Sanji, "We're going to get seprated from Nami."
"Usopp!" yelled Kiba.
"Chopper!" yelled Sakura.
"Can you hear us!" yelled Naruto.
"Hey! Franky do you have another weapon we can use?" asked Isaribi.
"Yes, there's a pool…" said Franky.
"That is so stupid I don't even…" said Sakura.
On the island… Ino and Usopp both regained conscious.
"What happened to us?" asked Usopp.
Ino looked around and saw very high walls on both their sides.
It turned out that Nami had also regained conscious and was scoping the place. Chopper also regained conscious.
"We're already in the middle of the ghost island." Said Nami.
Both Chopper and Usopp freaked out.
"Seriously…" said Ino.
"We got too excited about the Mini-Merry we hit the shore so we were thrown behind this wall…" said Nami.
"And just who was driving again…" said Ino.
"It 100 percent my fault…" sighed Nami.
"Either way we're on the island now trapped in a weird moat…" muttered Usopp, "I wonder why there's one here…"
"And that's there's no traps, you'd there would…" said Ino.
"Hey the reason why we're fine is because we landed on skeletons…" said Chopper.
That was when Chopper and Usopp began to freak out.
"Calm down!" yelled Ino.
The two did.
"This is still the entrance." Said Usopp, "I'm sure Luffy and the others will be looking for us." Said Usopp.
"I don't know if we should wait here…" said Ino, "It is below sea level and me and Chopper can't swim."
"We should go up to sea level and wait by the coast…" said Nami.
That was when they heard growl.
They turned to see what appeared to be a dog…
A rather large three headed dog!
Of course the three-headed dog began to chase them.
"Cerberus!" yelled Usopp.
They all began to run away from the Cerberus. AS they ran away and discussing why there was one there… they heard yelp.
"Wait…" said Chopper, "One of the heads is a fox head."
"You made it mad!" yelled Nami.
"It must be sensitive about being part fox!" yelled Ino.
Thankfully they found some stairs. After running around for a while they climbed a tree.
"It sense of smell isn't that good." Thought Usopp, "It's going away."
"Oh great now we're stuck up a tree." Muttered Ino.
"What should we do?" asked Nami.
"With that thing roaming around we cant' wait for out in the open…" said Chopper.
"Yes indeed." Said a voice.
They turned to see a small strange looking man hanging upside down.
"Weird bat thing!" yelled Ino.
She was about to kick it when suddenly he said "Sorry I mean you no harm! My name is Hildon."
"Seriously…" said Ino.
"You were being chaise by the wild dog so I followed you." Said Hildon, "The night has only just began in this part of the forest. Soon it will become so dangerous that is will seem not of this world."
He mentioned over to a carriage being driven by strange looking horses.
"If you would like, I can take you by carriage to the mansion." Said Hildon, "My master Doctor Hogback is there…"
"Doctor Hogback?" asked Chopper happily.
They decided to take the carriage ride, during the ride Ino was the only one suspicious.
"So who is Doctor Hogback?" asked Ino.
"You never heard him…" said Chopper, "I guess that makes sense."
Chopper began to explain about Doctor Hogback, who was a very famous surgeon who saved many people, but 10 years ago, he suddenly vanished (or possibly kidnapped).
"That's the Hogback you're talking about right?" asked Chopper.
"That's right, he's still working many wonders things in the mansion." Said Hildon.
Nami on the other hand saw something outside, at first she thought it was a lion but then it turned out it had a man's face.
She tired to tell the others but none of them beloved her. She decided to show them what was out there… and what they saw was hard to describe, strange looking animals and the trees themselves were all signing and dancing about how they had targets…
The four straw Hats rubbed their eyes and they looked again they were gone.
They breathed a sigh of relief.
"Okay! Something as there!" yelled Ino.
"Definitely!" yelled Usopp.
"Oh did you see a hallucination?" asked Hildon.
"You call that a hallucination!" yelled Ino.
"Well due to the thick fog and fearful aura people often hallucinate here…" he explained.
"You're lying…" said Ino
She did the hand sign.
"Soul Soul Possession!" called out Ino.
After she passed out, Hildon blinked.
"Is she all righty." He asked.
"Look like it didn't work…" said Usopp.
"I wonder why…" said Nami.
Nami decided it was probably for the best to turn around...
Although Chopper still wanted to meet Doctor Hogback, Usopp managed to convince him .
Hildon left to tell the coachmen to turn around.
Soon enough Ino managed to regain consciousness.
"Man I hope I can find that amulet…" muttered Ino.
"What were you trying to do?" asked Usopp.
"I was trying to possess him so that I can get information form the drivers…" said Ino, "Why did we stop."
"After you passed out I convinced them to turn it around…" said Nami.
"How long after I passed out?" asked Ino.
Nami's eyes winded. They looked outside.
They in the middle of a grave yard, the horses were gone and Hildon was no where to be seen.
"I told you we couldn't trust me…" muttered Ino.
"Now's not the time!" yelled Nami.
That was when they heard some noises, they all watched in horror as bodies emerged from the graves.
Usopp began to scream.
"This can't be happening…" cried Nami.
"Zombies!" yelled Usopp.
Indeed, they were now surrounded by Zombies… zombies that were going towards the carriage.
Indeed… they would be one of the scariest moments of their lives…
