Chapter 281: Secrets of Thriller Bark

The four of them looked around the room. It was rather pristine and didn't have the feel of the other rooms.

"Wow… I never noticed how pretty she really is." Said Nami.

"I know right…" said Ino, "I'm jealous."

"Is this her room?" asked Usopp.

"I don't know, who would have pictures of themselves all over the place." Said Usopp.

"These pictures are weird, none of them have the stiches." Said Ino.

'I noticed that too." Said Chopper, "She has stiches all over."

"Hey you're right, wonder how old these pictures are." Said Usopp.

"Victoria Cindry…" Nami read from a newspaper.

"What?" asked Chopper.

"She used to be a famous actress…" said Nami.

"I thought she was a servant." Said Usopp.

"Oh yeah her story was she was engaged to a rich man broke his plates to test his love." Said Ino.

"From the looks of it she was born from aristocratic family…" said Nami.

"Really… I wonder if she was kicked out for doing that…" said Ino.

"Either way when she was younger she was very popular until…" said Nami.

She stopped reading and began to shudder.

"Until what Nami…" said Usopp.

"She fell from the stage… and died…" said Nami.

"What!" yelled everyone else.

Everyone in the room was shocked.

"That can't be true! WE saw her alive." Said Usopp.

"She has to be a zombie!" said Ino, "That's the only explanation!"

"What you have to be kidding!" yelled Usopp.

"It does make sense." Said Chopper who was freaking out.

"This island is just getting creepier and creepier!" yelled Usopp, he bumped a curtain that revealed treasure chest.

"Is that a treasure chest?" asked Nami getting Berry signs in her eyes.

"Seriously…" muttered Ino.

"You were scared a second ago…" said Chopper.

They opened up the treasure chest… however it contained a jack in the box like zombie…

And so they all ran out of the room once again running from the zombies.

Back with Luffy's group they continued through the forest.

"Luffy… why do you always try to get weird things to join the crew." Said Sanji, "We already have a raccoon dog and a robot."

"I'm not a robot! I'm a cyborg!" yelled Franky.

"So what you're not human." Said Sanji.

Of course the two began to bicker.

"Oh great one of these fights…" sighed Kiba.

"I know right… no one cares about the difference between a robot and a cyborg." Said Sakura.

"The tree and the unicorn… both of them had them." Said Robin.

"Had what?" asked Zoro.

"All of the creatures in this forest have bandages an numbers somewhere on their body." Said Robin.

"Hey you're right." Said Hinata.

"I wonder what it could mean…" said Isaribi.

However before they could think more about it they heard a weird sound.

Which sounded like someone saying "Negative. Negative" over and over again.

"What is it?" asked Luffy.

Turns out it the ghost which were saying "Negative, Negative."

They watched as the ghost split into three separate ghosts.

"Oh wow… they can't dance and spilt into other ghosts." Said Luffy.

"Why do they keep saying negative?" asked Sasuke.

"I have no idea." Sighed Kiba.

"All right!" cheered Luffy.

Luffy tried to catch one with a net.

However as they are ghosts… it went as well it should…

"Get in the net!" yelled Luffy.

"Wow they really are ghosts." Said Franky.

And so Franky used Fresh Fire.

Fresh Fire did not effect for ghost.

"All right let me try!" yelled Naruto.

He went into half demon form and formed a Rasengan. He tried to attack the ghost but the attack when through them.

The ghost went through both of them. Suddenly they both became depressed and collapsed to the ground.

"Oh man… why does this stuff always happen to me…" said Naruto.

"Man I totally suck" said Franky, "I'm completely worthless"

"So your attack didn't' work get overt it!" said Sanji.

"I don't think that's it…" said Hinata.

"Why you!" yelled Luffy trying to grab the ghost with his hand. Of course it passed through him and he became depressed as well.

"I wish I would die, and be reborn as a clam." Said Luffy.

"Seriously!" yelled Sanji.

"IT's the ghosts. "said Hinata.

"She's right." Said Robin, "It seems touching the ghosts a person depressed."

"They just have no will power or discipline." Said Zoro, "These strange ghosts make a fool out of them."

However the ghost passed through Zoro.

"I wish I was never born." Said Zoro.

"We an let one of them go through Sasuke." Said Kiba.

"I know who knows what might happen." Said Isaribi.

"Hey!" yelled Sasuke.

"We're referring to the cursed seal." Said Isaribi.

"Year… cursed seal…" said Kiba.

They looked at the ghosts, there now five of them.

"We should figure out a way to go around them." Said Sasuke regaining his composure.

"That would be the best idea." Said Robin.

And so they took the long way around.

As they did Gaara sensed something.

"What's wrong?" asked Isaribi.

"Nothing." Said Gaara.

What Gaara sensed was someone watching them.

"Those ears and tails…" whispered the person, "He can't be… can he?"

Back with the group…

"Those stupid ghosts! I don't want them as a pet any more!" yelled Luffy.

"I will kill those ghosts next time I see them!" yelled Naruto.

"Yes… kill them to death…" said Kyubi.

"They have to have some kind of weak point! I'll wipe them out!" yelled Franky.

Sanji and Kiba on the other hand were laughing them.

"Shut up!" Yelled Zoro.

"These weirs patch work creatures are easy to handle." Said Sanji.

"But how can we handle the ghosts…" said Isaribi.

"What about the gentle fist?" asked Kiba.

"If the Rasengan wasn't able to beat them, I doubt the gentle fist would." Said Hinata.

"We'll just have to wait and see what happens." Said Sanji, "and find out how's pulling the strings."

That was when they arrived in the graveyard.

"Oh hey a spooky cemetery! Can we stop here to eat?" asked Luffy.

"NO!" yelled almost everyone in the crew.

"Also it would make the food taste bad, and we're in a hurry." Said Sanji.

That was when a zombie popped out the grave.

Luffy looked at the zombie, calmly walked over and shoved the zombie back into the soil.

Naruto was the only one to hear the sarcastic slapping.

"Bravo… bravo… that is the best reaction I've ever seen to a zombie." Said Kyubi somewhat sarcastically.

"Hey don't shave me back into the ground!" yelled the zombie jumping back up.

Luffy stared at the zombie.

"An old man with severe injuries?" asked Luffy.

"That's a zombie stupid!" yelled Sanji, Franky, Sasuke, Zoro and Kiba.

That was when the rest of the zombies popped out of the graves, angry about what Luffy did.

"Come on zombies! Let's show them true terror!" yelled one of them.

"Oh you want to fight! Let's show you true terror instead." Said Luffy with a grin.

And so most of the crew shouted "Billion Berry Jackpot!"

The entire crew was in perfect sync with this attack and they took out all of the zombies.

"So what are you guys doing here?" asked Luffy becoming serious.

The zombies gave various answers, most pertaining to being zombies.

"Have you seen a long nosed guy, a girl with orange hair and a reindeer that looks like a raccoon?" asked Luffy.

Before any of the zombies could answer they heard a voice say, "I saw them pass through… but they were weak so I didn't help them"

They turned to see a person with tan skin, orange eyes and short mint green hair.

"Sorry… I know that I should have let them go to their doom but I've been desperate lately…" said the person.

"Oh man it's her! That girl with the weird powers!" yelled the zombies.

"Weird powers…" said Luffy.

"Wait you're a girl?" asked Sanji staring at… well the girl…. Who indeed had a flat chest, of course Sanji was staring at it.

"Hey stop that!" yelled the girl blushing.

Sakura pounded Sanji.

"Sorry about him… he's a pervert." Said Sakura.

"It's all right." Said the girl, "Any ways I did see them. They were attacked the zombies and then they went into the mansion."

The zombies began to tremble.

"What did you say!" yelled Luffy.

The zombies got off lightly. By which it means they just stuck the zombies in face first into the ground.

"So who are you anyways?" asked Sasuke.

"My name's Fu, I run away from home a couple months ago and ended up here." Said the girl named Fu, "I got my shadow stolen so I wanted to get back… but I know it's best I don't do it alone so I've been looking for strong help… please help me get my shadow back!"

"Sure of course! But you have to help us find our crew and a skeleton." Said Luffy.

"Okay! Deal!" said Fu.

That was when Naruto felt Fu… it was like he sensed something like it before… but it was all wrong like it was warped somehow.

"You feel it too… don't you?" asked Gaara.

"Yeah." Said Naruto.

"I don't find her suspicious… but she's hiding something…" said Gaara.

They made it through the graveyard, as they did, they heard another voice call out.

"Excuse me. Can you please wait!" called out a voice.

They turned to see what appeared to be a zombie.

"I just saw how frighteningly powerful you were." Said the zombie.

"An old man with severe injuries?" asked Luffy.

"He's a zombie!" yelled most of the crew.

"No he's just an old man with severe injuries." Said Fu.

"Oh Fu… you met up with them." Said the not zombie, "I take you haven't told them the whole story…"

Fu laughed nervously.

"I should have known." Sighed the old man, "There's a man I want you defeat."

The old man fell to the ground.

"Please! This man left a trail of victims. But once you defeat him we'll all be saved. When our shadows return I'll do whatever I can to return the favor." Said the old man.

That was when they noticed that the man didn't have a shadow.

"Hey! Your right!" said Luffy, "He don't have a shadow."

"Wait a second!" yelled Kiba.

They turned to Fu who did have a shadow.

"Were you lying to us?" asked Luffy.

"No I wasn't… look at my shadow…" said Fu.

They looked at the shadow.

"Hey… it's weird." Said Luffy.

The shadow looked like it was… well a gigantic insect of some kind.

"Why do you have a bug's shadow." Said Luffy.

"I'll explain later." Said Fu, "But you should listen to him…"

"That is!" said Kyubi, "Why her aura is warped! Her missing shadow!"

Naruto smirked when Kyubi said that.

However it wasn't time to get into that.

The old man sighed.

"His name is Moria. He is a fearsome man." Said the old man.

"Do you mean Gecko Moria?" asked Robin.

"Yes I do." Said the old man.

"Who is Gecko Moira?" asked Luffy.

"He's one of the 7 War Lords of the Sea." Said Robin.

"Another one?" asked Naruto.

"Great…" muttered Gaara.

"His original bounty was higher than yours." Said Robin looking at Luffy.

"He's the one stealing our shadows." Said Fu, "I don't want to fight him on my own because I'm afraid what will happen if Chomei's shadow gets taken too..."

"Chomei?" asked Luffy.

"I'll explain later…" said Fu.

"Oh crap…" said Kyubi.

"What?" asked Naruto.

"Nothing! Nothing at all! Nothing that will make you ask me weird questions." Said Kyubi.

Naruto sweat dropped.

However the man began to cry.

"There's more besides us two, wandering the forest. Many of us spend out time running form zombies, but some of us went back to sea but constantly hiding from the Sun." cried the old man, "Either way we are cursed… we can't surely be called alive. I just want to walk around once before I die!"

Franky was bawling his eyes out, "I'm not crying." Denied Franky.

"You're such a softie." Said Zoro.

"Seriously it's embracing." Said Sasuke.

"Cut it out!" yelled Sanji, "Shut it crying to sympathy only works for ladies! IT does nothing for me."

"So if I cried it would work." Said Fu.

Sanji sweat dropped.

"Well we're already looking for the guy who steals shadows! He's after us and I already agreed to save Fu. If he's after us. When we beat him up maybe it will save you too." Said Luffy.

"Thank you… even if you're only trying to help Fu…" said the old man.

There were several voices coming form the forest.

"Defeat Moria!" yelled one.

"We're counting on you!" yelled another.

"And I'm sorry our tears don't do it for you!" yelled the last one very sarcastically.

"Are you all listening in!" yelled Sanji.

"Thank you…" said Fu, "For doing it at least for me!"

"No problem!" said Luffy.

Fu nodded.

And so with the enemy now known, only time will tell what will happen next…

But one thing was known, Fu had a secret… a secret that would actually make her closer to the crew ironically enough.

Next Time: The group inside the mansion learn something horrifying about Doctor Hogback, meanwhile Fu tells them about what she is and why she has a shadow while they head into the mansion and discover something else about the island... What is it? Find out next time!
