The fourth and final chapter is here! All my fics have turned out super fluffy at the moment, lol I'm not sure why but I'm just rolling with it I purposefully didn't say in the story if Bakugou would stay in 2B or go back to 2A, I thought I would leave that up to the reader to decide for themselves. I also thought I wrote it well enough to show that whatever he decides, things would work out. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the chapter. I've been really sick this week, so I think it's OK but hard to tell lol.
Chapter 4
Bakugou noticed a slight change in attitude over the next week, not that 2B hadn't been welcoming before but they seemed to have decided to up their game. No one was overbearing, but he suddenly found himself with a running partner most mornings, extra sparing sessions on the weekend and they'd even managed to rope him into study groups. He's still not sure how they managed to talk him into that one though he thinks it had something to do with Tetsutetsu and his big puppy dog eyes. He was quickly realising the silver haired teen was hard to say no to. Just last night he'd found himself baking cookies, simply because Tetsutetsu had commented that he felt like something sweet. He'd been so embarrassed when he'd realised what he was doing, but by then it was too late and half the class was in the kitchen chatting and watching him, while Tetsutetsu had looked at him with an unbearably soft look that had Bakugou's insides squirming. He'd run off as soon as the cookies were out of the oven.
He hadn't seen much of 2A since he'd lost his temper. He knows he shouldn't have made such a big deal of it, they'd just been teasing him about moving to 2B, like it was an actual punishment instead of a chance to improve his own techniques. The way they were putting him down though, it just made him so mad! Like they really thought he wasn't going to be the number 1 hero in the world! They were lucky he hadn't blown something up! He guessed it was a good thing that he now found his time so occupied that he hadn't really thought that much about his other friends and their fight in a little while now.
"Who feels like a picnic?" Kodai asked one Saturday morning, three weeks after Bakugou had joined their class. The room was full of various classmates, either watching TV or working on projects. There was a general consensus throughout the room, but Bakugou shook his head.
"Fuck no. I've got plans to see shitty hair this afternoon, haven't seen him ages."
"Mind if I tag along?" Tetsutetsu said nonchalantly "We could go for a picnic then visit Kiri after?"
"I guess" Bakugou said reluctantly, though secretly he liked the idea of Tetsutetsu coming along, he would provide a nice buffer if things got heated again. Tetsutetsu had actually developed into something of a friend over the past few weeks, what with all the time they were spending together. He was mostly laid back and relaxed, but he had an edge of steel and would take none of Bakugou's crap. Bakugou would rather blast off his own hair than admit it but the older teen, well, he made him feel comfortable. Which was kinda a big deal.
"Do you want me to make something for the picnic?" Bakugou asked gruffly, nearly falling out of his chair at the resounding, "YES!"
Tetsutetsu rubbed his back in comfort, something he'd started doing a lot more recently. It was getting to the point where Bakugou was starting to seek him out for these warm touches and wasn't that just an embarrassing blow to his reputation. "You know how much we love your cooking, Bakugou" the silver haired teen said with an apologetic grin.
"Of course, you do" Bakugou muttered as he stood up, having to force himself to move away from Tetsutetsu and head to the kitchen to get started.
It was late afternoon verging on evening by the time the picnic finished. Bakugou had meant to leave earlier but he'd been far too relaxed and drowsy, laying on the soft grass, the sun filtering down through the trees to warm his face, his classmates laughing and talking around him.
Tetsutetsu had an arm slung casually over Bakugou's shoulders as they stood at Kirishima's door.
They knocked then waited a moment, Bakugou subtly leaning closer into Tetsu's side, before the door swung open and Kirishima's smiling face was grinning back at them.
"Bakubro" he cried, pulling Bakugou into a hug. "And Tetsu, hey, great to see you" Kirishima said happily as he moved out of the way to let them into his room.
Mina, Sero and Kaminari called out hello's as they entered, Bakugou blinked for a second, not expecting so many people, before giving them a grunted hello back.
He took a seat on the bed between Tetsutetsu and Kirishima, blushing slightly as Tetsutetsu wrapped an arm around his shoulder and pulled him close again.
Mina and Sero shared a surprised look, even more so when Bakugou casually leaned further into the touch.
"How have you been, bro?" Kirishima asked, "feels like forever since we've hung out."
"Been busy" Bakugou replied with a shrug.
"Here I thought you were avoiding us after your last blow up" Denki laughed.
Tetsutetsu shifted beside him, causing Bakugou to glance up at him in question, but Tetsu was completely focused on Denki, a small frown pulling down his lips.
"What even happened last time Bakugou visited? He was so upset when he got home but has refused to say much else about it" Tetsutetsu purposefully kept his voice casual but Bakugou and Kirishima, who knew him best, noted the hardness of his tone.
Denki laughed again. "Oh, we were just teasing Bakugou about being moved to 2B, not that there's anything wrong with that" the electrical teen hurried to reassure at Tetsutetsu's flat look. Tetsutetsu could just imagine how it had gone.
"And when you saw, he was getting upset you didn't think to stop?" a harder note entering his voice, that Denki unfortunately failed to pick up on.
"Oh, you know Bakugou, he can't take a joke to save his life" Denki said with a nonchalant wave of his hand, like Bakugou wasn't sitting right in front of him.
"Perhaps, its not that he needs to learn how to take a joke, but that he simply needs better friends? Don't worry 2B is taking care of it" the silver haired teen said as he tightened his arm around Bakugou possessively.
Bakugou tried to fight the blush breaking out on his face.
Denki looked surprised, sharing an uncertain look with Sero and Mina who had the grace to look sheepish.
"How about we put a movie on" Kirishima said, breaking the awkward tension and eyeing Bakugou and Tetsutetsu curiously.
"Sounds good" Tetsutetsu said, eyes finally flicking away from Denki and back to the blonde teen at his side. He ran a large hand soothingly through Bakugou's hair until the other relaxed against him again.
"What would you like to watch?"
Bakugou just shrugs, "Kiri can pick."
"There's a new one based on the life of Crimson Riot" Kirishima murmurs, "it's supposed to be pretty good."
Bakugou grinned at that, he should've known what Kirishima would pick.
They settle back, getting comfortable as the movie starts. Bakugou doesn't even try to move out of Tetsutetsu's hold and the other seems perfectly content with him in his arms. This is verging dangerously close to cuddling. And sure, Tetsutetsu may have been more handsy lately as they've grown closer, but they've never cuddled before, actually Bakugou's never really cuddled anyone before. Except perhaps his father when he was small. He glances up at Tetsutetsu again, to find that he's already being watched.
"Is this, OK?" He asks quietly. Bakugou pauses for a moment before nodding. It was more than OK.
"No" Bakugou said angrily. "You can do this; you've just got to fucking concentrate!"
Tetsutetsu had to bite his lip to keep from smiling at the blonde's personal style of motivation as he tried to help Monoma understand the different states of matter.
After living in the same dorm as the fiery teen for the last month, he was left breathless with the passion that Bakugou lived every day. He'd literally never seen anything like it. Everything Bakugou did he put his all into it, including helping his friends.
Tetsutetsu looked around to find that the rest of the table had caught him staring but he couldn't even feel embarrassed, how could anyone not stare when Bakugou was in the room. He did try to tone back the look of absolute adoration that was on his face but judging from the smirk Tsuburaba was aiming at him he mustn't have been too successful.
"Ah, so when they're a solid the molecules are closely packed together?" Monoma asked unsurely, only for Bakugou to grin brightly at him, "right!" the blonde teen barked happily.
"Have dinner with me tonight, Bakugou" Tetsutetsu blurted out, catching even himself by surprise.
"I have dinner with you every fucking night, dumbass" Bakugou said without looking up from Monoma's workbook and Tetsutetsu felt his cheeks heat up.
"No, I mean" he cleared his throat awkwardly. "Would you like to go out to dinner with me tonight, like on a date?"
Red eyes blinked up to meet his own and Bakugou's face flushed red so quickly Tetsutetsu was honestly concerned for a moment, before he heard a quickly mumbled reply.
"Fine."
Tetsutetsu practically beamed causing several eye rolls and snorts around the table.
"Great! Be ready at 6" he said happily as he jumped to his feet and hurried from the room.
"You haven't finished your homework!" Bakugou cried out, but it was too late.
Bakugou stood in front of his wardrobe, wondering what the fuck you were even supposed to wear on a date. He'd never been on one before, but he figured he should dress up a little. He reached up a hand to run through his hair in frustration, freezing as he remembered that he'd already spent 20 minutes getting it perfect and he didn't have time to be fixing it before he was supposed to meet Tetsutetsu. Eventually he pulled on a pair of fitted black jeans and a dark green collared shirt, he thought he looked OK, hopefully Tetsutetsu agreed.
He glanced at the parcel on the bed, it was originally going to be a birthday present but he's sure he's heard somewhere that its traditional to bring a gift on a first date, he didn't want to start the date off by making a bad impression, so he'd decided to give it to the other teen today.
One more quick once over in the mirror and then he was out the door. His heart thudded painfully in his chest as he rode the lift down to the common room, completely dismayed to find it nearly full. Of course, the nosy bastards had all come along to watch, he bit back a growl as he made his way further into the room, anxiety making his hands sweatier than usual.
He let out a sigh of relief as he spotted Tetsutetsu standing near the doorway on the other side of the room. He hurried to the other teen, eyes raking over the tight tee and fitted jeans he was wearing.
"You look nice" he said before blushing at how breathless he sounded.
Tetsutetsu just chuckled. "Thank you. But I have nothing on you. You look incredible" he said quietly, running a hand down Bakugou's back and causing the other teen to relax instantly.
"Thanks" Bakugou said shyly and Tetsutetsu thought he might swoon at how cute the other was being. They both chose to ignore the whispers and giggles going on around them.
"I got you something" Tetsutetsu said, handing over a small, wrapped package and Bakugou was immediately relieved that he had thought to bring something as well.
"I know flowers are more traditional, but I thought this was more you" Tetsutetsu said with a smile.
With shaking hands Bakugou pulled back the delicate paper, to reveal a box of different cooking spices.
"I was assured that you wouldn't find spices hotter, anywhere."
Bakugou looked up at the smiling teen and let out a bark of laughter.
"Well, you will just have to be my taste tester for dinner for the next few weeks, to make sure they were telling you the truth" Bakugou said with a grin, ears turning red as Tetsutetsu's look turned soft. "I would love that."
"I got you something as well" Bakugou said awkwardly, practically shoving the package into Tetsutetsu's chest. The other teen looked surprised.
"You didn't have to do that."
Bakugou shrugged, glancing away.
Unlike Bakugou, Tetsutetsu had no qualms about just ripping the paper open to get to the present inside. He froze in shock when he saw what it was. A dark blue hoodie with the words Real Steel embroidered over the front. With shaking hands, he ran his fingers reverently over the grey stitching.
Bakugou began to feel nervous the longer Tetsutetsu didn't respond. "I-I had it made for you, but if you don't like it, I can get something else." He hurried to reassure, reaching forward to pull the hoodie out of the others hands.
Tetsutetsu didn't let it go, instead he leant forward and wrapped Bakugou in his arms, hoodie and all. Bakugou shuddered as a warm face nuzzled into his neck, "oh baby, I love it so much, you have no idea" soft lips whispered against his ear as strong arms pulled him impossibly close. Tetsutetsu leaned back a little so Bakugou could see his face.
"How did you get it made so quickly?"
"Oh" Bakugou said, struck momentarily dumb at being in the others arms. "I already had it made, was just waiting for the right time to give it to you."
"Of course," Tetsutetsu murmured warmly, eyes tracing over Bakugou's face before reluctantly taking a step back, he then pulled the hoodie on over his shirt with a laugh.
"It's a perfect fit!"
Bakugou had to fight not to roll his eyes fondly, geez 2B were turning him soft.
"Alright, alright" Bakugou grumbled, his quota of sweet moments filled up for the day as the rest of the class started to gush over Tetsutetsu's new jumper. "Let's go." He grabbed Tetsu's hand and dragged him out the door, making sure to put his new spices safely on the table before doing so.
"You didn't have to wear it" Bakugou said as they walked across campus, watching the silver haired teen out of the corner of his eye.
"Are you kidding me" Tetsutetsu laughed. "I might never take it off!"
Bakugou snorted at that but couldn't keep the small please smile off his face.
Tetsutetsu reached out to hold his hand as they walked down the street, Bakugou hoped his hand wasn't too sweaty.
"So where are we off to?"
"It's called the rage cage" Tetsutetsu said excitedly. "Its this place where you can go and just smash whatever you like. No powers allowed, just sledgehammers and your own hands."
Bakugou's eyes lit with excitement. "Fuck, yeah! That sounds amazing!"
Tetsutetsu laughed, "I hoped you'd like it."
"Those two are so cute, it makes me physically sick" Monoma grumbled good naturedly as most of 2B made their way to the food hall for dinner.
"They definitely are sweet together" Komori grinned.
"That jumper sure was a thoughtful present" Kodai said delightedly to resounding nods all round.
"Bakugou's pretty thoughtful in general though" Kendo said.
"What's this about Bakugou being thoughtful" a voice piped up behind Kendo.
Everyone swung around to find it was Mineta who had spoken, with most of 2A sitting eating their dinner.
"Where is Bakugou?" Kirishima asked looking around at the assembled students.
"He's out on a date with Tetsutetsu" Tsuburaba said slyly, and Kirishima's mouth dropped open in surprise.
"I thought there was something going on with those two!" Mina squealed in delight.
"Good luck to Tetsutetsu, he's going to have his work cut out for him!" Denki laughed and a few of the others joined in.
"I don't know, we haven't found Bakugou to be hard work at all" Monoma replied snidely.
"Actually, we think Bakugou's biggest problem was you" Kendo said with a sniff.
"Us!" Squawked Denki. "What did we do!?"
"Well, the way you talk about him isn't very nice. Is it any wonder he isn't kinder to you?"
"Besides, he may swear and yell a bit but he's actually pretty sensitive" Kodai spoke up.
"Bakugou isn't sensitive" Jirou said.
"Yes, he is. Honestly, you've spent a whole year with him, and it astounds me how little you've actually been paying attention" Tsuburaba sneered. "All the complaining you do about him, we were expecting some kind of demon to be joining our class, but he's passionate and hardworking, he's loyal and considerate and oh so smart. He cooks dinner for us all the time to make sure we're eating healthy, he makes extra smoothies and leaves them in the fridge for people to have for breakfast if they're running late for class, he does extra training with people on weekends to help improve their technique and is always happy to contribute to study sessions. Honestly, you don't appreciate him at all, is it any wonder we've kept him away from you the past few weeks."
"You've kept him away from us" Mina asked in astonishment. While the rest of the class looked equally flummoxed after Tsuburaba's rant.
"He could've seen you if he really wanted to, we just gave him other options in which to spend his time."
"You haven't even realised that he doesn't like lots of noise or unexpected touch" Kendo said quietly, turning a disapproving eye on 2A. "We suspect some kind of abuse in his past."
Izuku let out a small cry of dismay.
"You didn't want him, but we do. We're going to talk to Bakugou about making the move to 2B permanent."
"He'll never go for that" Todoroki said, but Kendo just shrugged.
"We'll see."
With that 2B turned to get their own dinner, leaving 2A reeling in shock.
"We haven't been bad friends, have we?" Mina whispered.
A few people shrugged awkwardly.
"I don't think we've been very good friends" Izuku said tearfully. "I don't know, it just became so normal to tease Kacchan that we stopped caring about his feelings."
"Bakugou doesn't mind, though, does he?" Denki asked unsurely. "I mean he's always yelling and screaming anyway, how were we supposed to know he actually doesn't like us teasing him."
Kirishima rubbed his hair sadly, "there has been a few times when I've thought things have gone too far, but I've never spoken up. Always just figured he could handle himself. Ugh I am such a bad friend."
"I'm not really sure any of us can call ourselves Bakugou's friend" Izuku said quietly.
"What do you think of your ice cream?" Tetsutetsu asked, smiling as Bakugou wrinkled his nose.
"I'm not sure if raisin is really for me."
"Can't go wrong with chocolate" Tetsutetsu said with a wave of his own ice cream, almost dropping it as he dodged a sharp elbow from Bakugou.
"Oh, baby, would you like a lick?" Tetsutetsu asked innocently, holding his cone towards Bakugou.
Without even missing a beat the blonde leant forward and bit a big bite of ice cream off the top. Laughing uproariously at Tetsu's indignant, "hey!"
"You were right" Bakugou laughed, licking his lips. "I should've gone with chocolate."
Tetsutetsu wrapped his free arm around Bakugou's waist and pulled him close, pressing a short, sweet kiss to his lips.
"There's always next time" Tetsutetsu said, meeting Bakugou's gaze head on but still managing to look uncertain and Bakugou couldn't help the way his heart fluttered in anticipation.
"I'd like that" he said quietly, reaching up to press his lips more firmly to Tetsutetsu's gasping as the taller teen immediately deepened the kiss.
"Hey Bakubro! Wait up!" A voice called out and Bakugou slowed and turned, knowing already who was calling out to him. So, he was completely unsurprised to find Mina, Sero, Denki and Kirishima all walking towards him.
"What's up, fuckers?" Bakugou asked already starting to walk again.
Mina shrugged. "Not much, just thought we'd see if you wanted to come study for a while?"
"Can't, promised Tokage I'd teach her how to make my famous curry. Apparently, she has no idea how to cook, idiots going to starve when she leaves school."
Denki looked pained.
"What the fucks up with you Pikachu? You look constipated."
"What, no!" Denki cried. "Just miss you is all."
Bakugou snorted in disbelief. "Since when?"
No one wanted to say, since the night before when they'd had their arses handed to them by 2B and realised what arseholes they'd been, so they just stayed silent.
Bakugou started walking backwards as he continued to talk.
"I'll see you on Thursday, 2A and 2B have a training class together. You better bring your best moves cause we've been working hard!" Bakugou said with a wide grin, giving a quick wave over his shoulder as he spun back around and entered his dorm.
"He is thoughtful" Denki said quietly as the group turned back towards their own dorm, somehow feeling even worse than before.
Bakugou smiled as strong arms wrapped around his waist and a soft kiss was pressed against his neck. He reached back, running his hands through soft locks, ignoring the way Tokage was grinning at him and how pink his cheeks were.
"Dinner is still another 20 minutes away."
"I don't mind waiting right here" Tetsutetsu said, running his hands over Bakugou's waist. Bakugou snorted but didn't attempt to dislodge the limpet, continuing to shuffle around the kitchen with Tetsu in his wake.
"Did you use some of your new spices?" Tetsu murmured in his ear.
Bakugou shook his head. "No, I- I wanted to make something special just for you the first time I use them."
Tetsutetsu didn't say anything, but Bakugou suddenly found himself pressed more firmly against the chest behind him, arms holding him tightly. Bakugou couldn't say he minded too much.
"You've got this!" Bakugou screamed as Tetsutetsu managed to dodge out of Todoroki's way, their classes cheering them both on.
A huge ice wall sprung up around Tetsu and Bakugou laughed, as if that was going to stop his boyfriend. Less then a minute later a loud crack sounded throughout the room, the ice splintering and crumbling to the ground as Tetsutetsu burst out, already barrelling towards Todoroki.
The dual haired teen didn't hesitate, sending a wall of fire around himself, momentarily stopping Tetsutetsu in his tracks. Bakugou knew that heat was a weakness of Tetsu's which is why they had been working so hard on building up his resistance these past few weeks.
His heart pounded in his chest as 2B clapped and cheered around him. The metal teen took a deep breath, seeming to steel himself before running into the flames. Bakugou couldn't breathe. A moment later the flames died down as Todoroki was thrown through the air and a large buzzer sounded. 2B went wild cheering on their friend and Bakugou was right there with them, crowing with happiness as Tetsutetsu was declared the winner while Todoroki looked on in honest surprise, rubbing what was sure to be a painful lump on the back of his head.
Tetsutetsu released his quirk, his face shining in happiness at his win, taking in the claps on the back and high fives from his friends. He scooped Bakugou up into his arms swinging him around in a circle as the blonde laughed "I knew you could do it!" While 2A watched on.
