Chapter 286: The Secret of the Zombies
With what remained of Luffy's group. They saw the impact that Brook left… thank to a rather distinct Brook shaped hole they figured out he was the one who fell.
"Is that?" asked Kiba.
"Who else would make that imprint…" said Isaribi.
That was when they saw a gain tic web appeared.
"You have to be kidding me!" yelled Isaribi.
That was when the Spider Monkey zombie climbed onto the web.
"Do you think you can buy me some time, I see the perfect stone pillar." Said Franky taking a strange metal thing that resembled a pair of nunchuks
"Do we want to know what you're going to with that?" asked Kiba with a sweat drop.
"I'm making a weapon." Muttered Franky.
"Clearly!" said Kiba sarcastically.
Gaara knew the perfect way to distract the Spider Monkey.
"The sand is in my eye!" yelled the spider monkey.
"Seriously!" yelled both Kiba and Isaribi.
"That's so simple it worked perfectly!" said Fu.
Turned out during the freak out he began to get webbing all over him.
That was when Franky showed up with a stone pillar held together by a chain.
"Sorry for the wait just putting my personal heavy nunchuks into a stone pillar." Said Franky.
They watched at Franky began to beat up the Spider Monkey with his giant pillar nunchuks.
As they did spider mice zombies showed up, however Gaara stopped them with his sand.
"Looks like we can't watch the show…" said Robin.
"Everyone be on your guard!" said Gaara.
They began to fight off the ran spider zombies.
"You know that's not how you fight off the zombies…" said Brook.
"How did you get up here?" asked Isaribi.
"I jumped…" said Brook, "I am very light after all."
"You know a talking skeleton?" asked Fu, "Wait he's not a zombie? Is he?"
"No I just ate the Revive Revive Fruit." Examined Brook.
"Oh okay… cool…" said Fu.
"You take that we know a skeleton so easily…" mumbled Kiba.
"Let me finish him and then I can show you how to end this." Said Brook.
"Fine… but if it doesn't work…" muttered Franky.
Brook unsheathed his cane revealing it was a cane sword.
He ran towards the spider monkey and swiped but nothing seemed to happen.
"Three Pace Humming Notch Slash." Said Brook as he seethed his cane sword.
Then suddenly they saw that the Spider Monkey zombie suddenly started bleeding.
"Wait The zombies have blood!" said Isaribi.
"Even I didn't know that!" said Fu.
"Why you…" muttered the Spider Monkey ,"I know I've seen you before…"
"Don't worry I've already taken counter measures…" said Brook.
That was a black blob came out of the Spider Monkey's mouth.
"What's that?" asked Kiba.
"That's the zombie's soul…" said Fu.
"That's right." Said Brook.
"That's the zombie's soul?" asked Isaribi.
"No way!" said Franky.
The zombie's soul flew away while Brook said "Now returned to your original owner."
Meanwhile Naruto found himself handing by a rope.
"Hey! Where am I!" yelled Naruto.
That was when he was a large pale man with purplish hair that made it look like fire.
"Who are you weirdo?" asked Naruto.
""I don't need to tell you…" said the man.
"I'm going to take a stab in the dark… and say he's Moria…" said Kyubi.
"Are you Moria." Said Naruto.
The man (who was Moria) sweat dropped, "I take it the Biju inside of you told you…"
Naruto glared at Moria.
"Tell me, have you eaten you Devil Fruit?" asked Moria.
"Why should I tell you!" yelled Naruto.
"I guess you did… good because the zombie I had made especially for you has certain things added." Said Moria.
Naruto glared at Moria.
"I wonder what he's talking about though…" thought Naruto.
"I don't know why but I have a bad feeling about it kit…" said Kyubi, "Be careful…"
"I'm tied up…" mentally muttered Naruto.
Kyubi didn't answer back.
Back with the other group…
"Oh man it's the humming swords man!" yelled one of the rat spider zombies.
"We have to tell the boss!" yelled another.
"Run away! Run away!" yelled the rest.
The rat spider zombies fled.
"You're the humming swordsman, I heard a few things about you.,.." said Fu.
"And who are you?" asked Brook.
"A recent victim… but I had an extra shadow in my body… it's complicated…" said Fu.
"So has anyone been taken?" asked Brook.
"Most of the group…" sighed Fu, "But we haven't seen two of their zombies so hopefully their fine and we can rescue them before it's too late."
"I don't know…" said Brook.
"What are you talking about?" asked Franky.
"Even though I wanted to get out of these demonic seas, I could escape so my rudder was broken so I had to let where the currents took." Sighed Brook, "Then 5 years ago. I ended up on this island much like you were…"
"For me I ran away from home and I didn't know where I was going so I got stuck here…" said Fu.
"When I was captured I saw they had captured another man, a martial artist dancer…" said Brook, "They also brought out a dead corpse…"
Back with Naruto suddenly a bright light was lit of behind him.
"What the hell!" yelled Naruto.
That was when Moria suddenly picked up Naruto's shadow like it was cloth.
"Devil Fruit!" yelled Kyubi.
Back with Brook.
"Then a large man appeared. He picked up and shadow then cut it off." Said Brook.
"But seriously! He cut off the shadow!" yelled Kiba.
Back with Naruto, Moria had grabbed a large pair of scissors and cut off the shadow.
Back with Brook…
"I doubted my eyes at first but then I remember I didn't' have any eyes." Said Brook.
"I'm going to beat you up if you continue joking!" yelled Franky.
"Wait… there's something else I need to tell you… it's about me!" said Fu, "And Naruto too…"
"What?" asked Gaara.
"You see when my shadow was stolen my body didn't fall in a coma…" said Fu, "Something else happened."
Back with Naruto, Moria had Naruto's shadow in his hand.
"You son of bitch! What did you do!" yelled Kyubi possessing Naruto's body.
"Oh right forgot about that." Said Moria.
However suddenly several spider rat zombies appeared and bound Naruto's body with web.
"Toss him out of here!" said Moria.
Moria looked at the shadows as the Rat Zombies dragged away the Kyubi Possessed Naruto.
Back with Brook…
"So what do they with the shadows…" said Gaara.
"You see…" said Brook, "They forced the shadow into the corpse and what happened next was that the corpse began to move on it's own…"
Meanwhile, with Moria he headed to where a certain body was stored.
For the 8 Jinchuriki shadows (if he ever obtained them all) he prepared 8 special bodies just for them.
However the one that had the 9 tails was a very special body…
Back with Brook...
"You see a shadow is a soul, a soul that is meant to follow a person until they die." Said Brook, "Under normal circumstances the shadow follows their person until death… however Moria has the ability to capture and force a shadow in his submission… He ate the Shadow Shadow Fruit."
"A devil fruit…" muttered Gaara.
"With that skill and having corpses he has an army of zombies." Said Brook, "What's worse is that he has a skilled surgeon he can use body parts from various creatures as well."
"That won't with the butterfly wings is the one that has my shadow… and it's thanks to his handiwork that she's able to use those wings…" said Fu.
"Wait… there's giant butterflies?" asked Kiba.
"Somewhere in the world… I guess…" said Fu.
"His skills also allows him to go to various cemeteries around the world and pick up various bodies of legendary warriors…" said Brook, "As long as Doctor Hogback is on his side well have a lot of problems…"
"So what you're saying that even though the dead has come back to life they aren't really alive." Said Franky.
"Exactly…" said Brook.
"The personality and battle abut lies are retained the shadow…" said Brook.
"Wait… if the bodies aren't truly alive then they can't use Chi attacks right?" asked Isaribi.
"Naruto and Hinata were both taken… they'll shadows will be useless for Moria…" said Kiba.
"Well Naruto does fight psychically…" said Gaara, "Hinata is the only one that relies on Chi…"
"As I was saying though the psychical strength relies on the corpse, the stronger the commination of the shadow and corpse, the stronger the zombie will be…" said Brook, "It's why he seeks out people with bounties and from I heard the 8 Jinchuriki that are alive right now…"
That was when suddenly they heard a scream.
They saw a figure falling down from somewhere.
"Who is that…" said Kiba.
Gaara however the feeling to catch the person using his sand.
Turns out said person was the Kyubi possessed Naruto.
"They gave him back?" asked Kiba.
"Hey Robin can you please untie me…" said the Kyubi possessed Naruto, "And uh… not use your powers…"
"He's possessed again…" said Kiba.
This just made the ones who never him possessed by his inner demon sweat drop.
"Should we untie him?" asked Isaribi.
"Hey! You know I'm on tour side!" yelled the Kyubi possessed Naruto.
"Wait if they just dumped him like that… what about his shadow…" said Robin.
Back with Moria he had placed Naruto's shadow in the chosen zombie.
The zombie had headed 9 fox like tails.
"Awaken Yagura!" said Moria.
The person woke up, it appeared to be a young boy… however this boy was much than he looked…
And when he was alive he was a Jinchuriki as well…
The Jinchuriki to the three tails… even though the Biju was nowhere as strong as Kyubi, it was still the perfect choice… after all who else to handle the shadow of the most powerful Jinchuriki than a former Jinchuriki…
Things were going to get worse…
"Man…" said Yagura, "I could go for some ramen right now…"
Okay… not that much worse…

A/N: I considered using Minato's corpse for Naruto's zombie but the more I thought about the more I knew it was a bad idea... mostly because I established that Chi can't work for zombies... then the idea of using Yagura popped into my head... so I went with him... Either way I hope you like who I picked...
