Chapter 287: Giant Zombie
Now that Yagura was revived the true goal of Moria's was about to begin. The most powerful zombie had plan for.
And of course Luffy's shadow would be the one that makes up its Soul.
He had gathered his tree highest ranking members to discus his plans. One of them was of course Doctor Hogback, one of them was a teenaged girl who somewhat resembled Lee but with pink hair, and Absalom.
They all looked at Luffy was tied up and placed into a cage as Moira started mocking him, telling him he is the 7th that he captured.
"Yeah, after Sakura, Roronoa Zoro, Uchiha Sasuke, Hyuga Hinata, Fox D. Naruto and some blonde guy with no bounty." Mocked Moria.
"Blonde guy? You mentioned Naruto so the other blonde guy is Sanji." Said Luffy.
But Moria didn't' hear him.
"By the way did you get what happened to those four." Said Moria, "I thought I had the Risky brothers deliver them to you."
"I never received them. Said Perona, "I guess Kumashi never got them."
Kumashi was her companion with was a giant teddy bear zombie.
What she was unaware that Nami, Chopper, Ino and Usopp were hiding in him.
He was a teddy beat with a zipper.
"This is a terrible hiding place." Muttered Ino.
"We heard you the first ten times…" muttered Usopp.
"Kumashi! I told you to shut your mouth!" yelled Perona.
Thankfully Perona hated the zombie's voice, so he couldn't say what was really going on.
That was really, really lucky.
As they discussed "the four that got away"… well more like argued. During this Luffy magnet to escaped his cage.
However Perona was the one who controlled those ghosts so she made Luffy horribly depressed and he was recaptured.
After removing the armor from him, they stole Luffy's shadow.
Back with the group at what could now be called a webbing bridge. The Kyubi possessed Naruto was freed form what tied him up.
"Finally." Said the Kyubi possessed Naruto.
"Hold on before we talk." Said Fu.
Fu took something from here pocket and threw it at Naruto's head.
Whatever it was knocked him out and left a big welt.
"Why did you do that?" asked Kiba.
"IT was better to give him a shock while doing it." Said Fu.
"What's that that supposed to mean?" asked Kiba.
That was when Naruto suddenly jolted up.
"Okay! Who threw that!" yelled Naruto who seemed to be back in control of his body.
"Wait…" said Kiba.
"Sea Stone." Said Fu picking it up with a handkerchief, "Normally sea stone lets us switch with our demons, but when a sea stone when our shadows stolen it let's us takes control of bodies again."
"Damn it that jerk stole my shadow!" yelled Naruto.
"Well I guess I should explain what you should do." Said Brook, and then noticed Naruto's shadow, "Wait why do you have a shadow?"
"Should I tell him." Said Naruto.
"Yeah, you should tell him." Said Kiba while he was thinking, "If he doesn't take it well he probably won't join…"
"Totally!" said Franky while thinking, "This guy probably knows nothing about him."
"Okay." Said Naruto, "You see I have a demon inside of me and…"
"Oh you're a Jinchuriki… I didn't know." Said Brook who seemed rather calm about it.
"Oh you don't care." Said Naruto, "Cool!"
"It doesn't matter." Said Brook.
"There goes that." Said Kiba.
"I know right…" muttered Franky.
"Anyways you don't have to worry about your crewmates, once their shows are stolen they're just be sent." Said Brook.
"What's stupid, why doesn't he jut kill them?" asked Franky.
"Listen carefully." Said Brook, "The original and the shadow are part of the same person. If the original does so does the shadow."
"And if the shadow dies the zombie dies." Said Fu.
"Wait… if that's the case why doesn't he just build a gigantic prison to make sure that none of them die?" asked Kiba.
"I'm going to guess to much trouble." Said Fu.
"He's right." Said Brook.
Fu glared at Brook, "I'm a girl."
Brook stared at her chest, "Really?" he asked in shocked.
"We have to explain more things!" yelled Fu.
"Oh yes…" said Brook, "The ones who had their shadows taken will definitely be back on the ship."
Brook sighed, "But if all of you get captured then chances are you will have to wander the see trying to find this place again."
"Me and Naruto will be okay, since he's too scared to steal a Biju's shadow." Said Fu.
"The thing to do is wake the ones who are sleeping." Said Brook, "That is the only chance to retake the shadows."
"He's right." Said Gaara.
"All of our power houses were taken." Said Isaribi, "And I don't think it's a good idea if Gaara and Naruto handles it all."
"Take this." Said Brook handing Franky a small bag.
"What's this?" asked Franky.
"Salt." Answered Brook.
"Salt?" asked the crew.
"Yes, it's the zombies weakness." Explained Brook, "If you put into the mouth, then the shadow will leave."
"I didn't know that!" said Fu.
"Then how have you been fighting zombies?" asked Brook.
"I tie my sea stone to a stick and poke them until the shadow leaves." Said Fu.
"How long have you been on this island again?" asked Brook.
"Just a few weeks." Answered Fu.
"And you managed to find sea stone in that amount of time?" asked Brook.
"Actually I keep it with me in case of extreme emergencies where I need to have Chomei take over." Said Fu.
"So how does the salt work." Said Isaribi getting back on track.
"Well since the zombies are powered by a Devil Fruit. Salt embodies the power of the sea, so it's able to seprated the bond of the fake body and the fake soul."
"So it was a shadow." Said Gaara.
"That's right"! said Brook, "So just put salt in its mouth an you will defeat it! No bones about it!"
"How do you know so much about fighting zombies?" asked Robin.
Brook began to explain it wasn't the first time he was on the island.
The first time, he came back it resulted in his defeat because he ran away.
"I must escape these demonic waters! To fulfill a pact I made with my friend, that's why I ran away, though I survived it was meaningless. Though I served I need to take back my shadow! I won't run away!"
The crew was silent.
"Now if you excuse me I must hurry on my way!" said Brook.
"Stop!" yelled Naruto, "Before you go, tell me about your friend!"
"What?" asked Brook.
"Tell me about your friend…" said Naruto, "Knowing Luffy he would want to help you find him..."
"I don't want to get you involved." said Brook.
"You don't know my brother." Said Naruto, "So tell me about your friend!"
Brook nodded realizing that Naruto wouldn't let him leave until he did.
Meanwhile with Moria and his men, some spider rat zombies were reporting the death of their boss.
"Defeated how, it's not like his shadow could have been removed." Said Absalom.
"Wait the Jinchuriki has a method of removing them." Said Perona.
"Yeah, but he method is pretty bad and I doubt she would defeat him." Said Absalom.
"It wasn't the Jinchuriki." Said the Spider Rat.
They realized it was Brook's doing… Moria didn't' seem worried though.
As they talked about this, the Spider Rats dragged away Luffy's unconscious body.
"Should we follow them?" asked Usopp.
"We shouldn't." said Ino.
"She's right, we don't want to get caught now…" said Nami.
And so they continued hiding in the teddy bear zombie.
Meanwhile with Naruto's group, they headed back to the Thousand Sunny (now missing Brook).
Franky was crying after hearing Luffy's story.
"Will you stop crying?" asked Kiba.
"but you never meet a guy like that!" cried Franky.
"Hey Naruto." Said Kiba, "Why didn't you tell him?" asked Kiba.
"It should come from Luffy, not me." Said Naruto, "Besides wouldn't be better as a surprise?"
Kiba smirked.
"So I take you know his friend?" asked Isaribi.
"Oh yeah!" laughed Naruto.
"Should have known…" said Robin.
"Kit…" said Kyubi.
"What?" asked Naruto.
"Did you forget…" said Kyubi.
"Forget what?" asked Naruto.
"The bet you and Sasuke made when you first got to the Grand Line." Said Kyubi.
Naruto blinked, then remember then began to laugh, "Almost forgot about… and it's not much a bet as it was a promise."
"What's so funny?" asked Kiba.
"Oh it's just something me and Sasuke agreed on when we got when we met him." Said Naruto.
Kiba blinked them remember.
"Holy crap! You were right!" yelled Kiba.
"I know!" laughed Naruto.
"What are they talking about?" asked Fu.
"Something tells me I don't want to know…" said Isaribi.
Meanwhile with Moria they headed deep in a gigantic freezer. He was excited.
"They got the min chamber to a gigantic corpse. It wasn't a normal giant as it had different colored skin, tusks and horns. IT looked more like a demon than a giant.
Plus it was much, much bigger.
"The berserker warrior they called Oars." Said Moria.
Those hiding in the Teddy Bear zombie all peaked out, shocked at the gigantic corpse.
"Now let's begin." Said Moria as he approached the corpse.
"What is that thing...tis' too big to be a giant…" whispered Usopp.
Chopper looked like was about to scream.
"Keep it in Chopper." Said Ino.
"Just calm down…" said Nami.
Moria looked at Luffy's shadow, which was struggling in his hand.
"Calm down shadow of Straw Hat Luffy, I am your new master now." Said Moria.
The shadow calmed down in his hand.
"I will not provide you with a voice and a new body. You will live on as my zombie. You will forgot all of your human relationships and become my loyal solider." Said Moira.
Luffy's shadow nodded.
Moria laughed, "The pact has been sealed."
While Doctor Hogback and Cindry did a ratter humorous snarky conversation Moria placed the shadow into the zombie.
The four Straw Hats watched in horror as Luffy shadow went into the body of the giant and slowly disappeared.
Moria walked away, to enjoy watching as the zombie came to life. But by bit the zombie came to life, as the Straw Hats held in their screams of horror.
IT wasn't until it opened his eye that Nami finally screamed.
"Oh no they found us…" cried Usopp.
"This is bad…" said Ino.
"I just had to scream…" cried Nami.
"The beast woke up!" yelled Chopper freaking out.
"It's my bride…" said Absalom.
However the gigantic zombie tore of the chains that held him.
The Straw Hats were freaking out to anything else.
It was then finally the gigantic zombie gave a great big yell.
"Meat!" yelled Oars, "I'm hungry!"
It might have forgotten the human relationship it once had… but Luffy's shadow still wanted meat and lots of it...
Even so with the giant alive again things were going to get worse before they get better…
Maybe… it does have Luffy's personally…
Next Time: Nami gets captured by Absalom! Thankfully what's left of the two group reunite. Can they wake up the rest of the crew... and if they do how will it be done? Find out next time!
