Chapter 293: Rage and Broken Dreams
(Flashback)
A young Sanji was reading an encyclopedia about Devil Fruits and their powers.
"What are you reading?" asked a young Ino.
"Oh just about the Clear Clear Fruit." Said Sanji.
"The Clear Clear Fruit?" asked Ino.
"Yeah, it allows someone to not only turn invisible but anything you touch invisible." Said Sanji.
"That's cool." Said Ino.
"Yeah, if I ever find it I'm going to eat it." Said Sanji.
"Why?" asked Ino.
"So I can be a super hero!" said Sanji.
"What's the real reason?" Said Ino.
"There is no other reason." Said Sanji.
"Uh-huh…" said Ino not buying it.
"What I'm telling the truth!" said Sanji.
"Sure you are..." said Ino.
(End of Flashback)
Sanji glared at the man in front of him.
"The truth I know all about your Devil Fruit!" yelled Sanji, "The Clear Clear Fruit, it allows you and everything you touch to turn invisible."
"What!" yelled Absalom, "How do you know all about that!"
"When I was kid I read an encyclopedia about Devil Fruits, since I grew up with a Devil Fruit eater I knew they were real. There was one that packed my interest. One that I knew if I ever had the chance I would eat it." Explained Sanji, "But I also knew that one only fruit could exist at a time."
A silence filled the air, Kiba and Akamaru who were fighting zombies stopped to listen.
"So if I met that person with that power I knew that my dreams would die! Do you understand I'm angry with you! All my life I wanted to be an enviable man! And now you ruined my dream of eating the Clear Clear Fruit!"
The remaining zombies in the room sweat dropped along with Kiba.
"Is that so?" asked Absalom.
He held up his arms, however Sanji kicked something his hands, which were revealed to be bazookas.
"I told you that wasn't going to work," said Sanji.
He once again glared harshly at the lion faced man.
"Oh I had so many dreams! I would go into the women's bath... I mean with great power comes watching women in the bath… I mean I would protect those in need… women's bath!" said Sanji.
Kiba realized it was probably better to focus on fighting the zombies.
Ino on the other hand face palmed.
"He was more subtle when we were kids." Muttered Ino.
"I daydreamed what I could do with that power!" yelled Sanji.
"Will you shut and beat him up already!" yelled Ino.
"Hey! He ruined my dreams!" yelled Sanji.
"Look he did the same thing you were planning to do anyway." Said Ino, "So it doesn't matter…"
Sanji gritted his teeth.
"That's right you peeped on Nami in the Shower!" yelled Sanji kicked Absalom again.
Absalom got up.
"I compete understand your grudge and anger." Said Absalom.
He removed his coat and shirt revealing his skin looked very estrange and was covered in scars.
He began to brag that he had surgeries done to give him the muscles and skin of various animals.
Sanji glared at him when he was done with his speech.
"But you still peeped." Yelled Sanji kicking him again.
Kiba was done with all of the zombies.
"I think it's probably best if we get out of here!" said Kiba.
Ino nodded.
Akamaru joined them and they carried Nami out of there.
Sanji smirked when they did that.
It allowed him to go all out without hurting Nami.
"I'll be the one to have the last laugh!" mocked Absalom as he turned invisible, "Not only do I have the Devil Fruit you desire, but also to take that woman as my bride."
"How do you expect to do the last part?" asked Sanji
There was an awkward silence.
"Where did she and the blond go?" asked Absalom, then he noticed that all of the remaining zombies were dead, "And where did those weird twins go?"
"You really think they'd stick around? They left with Nami when he you were in apian." Said Sanji.
Absalom was so shocked he suddenly became visible.
"What?" he said.
"I trust Ino and Kiba to take care of Nami." Said Sanji, "And thanks to them I don't have to worry about hurting Nami when I go all out."
"Go all out, I'd like to see you try!" yelled Absalom.
Once again Sanji was encompassed by the flames of anger.
He once again kicked Absalom very hard.
Absalom began to think.
"I doubt those three got very far." He thought, "They should be nearby… All I have to do is beat him then beat them up then take back my bride, it will be easy!"
He decided to turn invisible again.
"I'd like to see you beat me now!" yelled Absalom.
Sanji felt himself be punched, however that was the only time Absalom did so, Sanji managed to get a really good kick in without even trying.
"Seriously? Fighting close quarters? That's not going to work!" said Sanji.
Absalom managed to crawl away realizing that was kind of stupid. So he threw a knife at Sanji. However since it became visible after he threw it.
"You're nothing but a coward." Mumbled Sanji, "I no longer regret I lost my dream. I no longer want to be invisible."
He grabbed the air, surprisingly getting Absalom.
"I'll go peeping on my own power!" he yelled.
That was when he sent a flurry of kicks at Absalom, the attacks were so numerous and harsh that not only was the invisible man sent flying but he was embed a few feet into a nearby wall.
That was when Ino, Kiba and Akamaru (still as Kiba's clone) all peaked their heads in.
"So it's over?" asked Kiba.
"I figure you were just outside." Said Sanji.
"Yeah, I knew you would beat him… said Ino, "And I'm glad you didn't try to kill him… I would have thought you would be that desperate."
"No…" said Sanji.
"Oh and one more thing." Sighed Ino.
Ino kicked Sanji in the face.
"You'll go peeping with your own power?" asked Ino.
"I didn't know you heard that…" said Sanji.
Ino glared at him.
Sanji looked at Kiba who appeared to be looking away.
Sanji sighed… knowing it was probably better not go him involves.
"We should go find everyone else." Said Kiba deicing to change the subject.
"Good idea." Sighed Ino.
Even with Absalom defeated, there were other threats at Thriller Bark and who knew if they would be defeated so easily… then again rage was involved with that fight so who knew…
