Chapter 2: Thoughts and Meetings.
Meanwhile, back in Sora's Reality: Three months after the events of "Kingdom Hearts 3" and "Remind"...
Three months have passed since the universal war of Light and Darkness. All of the worlds within the Realm of Light have been in pure peace for the first time in nearly twelve years since Master Xehanort began his regime of terror for Kingdom Hearts. Most inhabits of their home worlds were mostly unaware of the dangerous and near-death they were about to experience had it not been for Sora and his friends. Yet throughout it all, it didn't come without a price.
After years of suffering, those who had fallen victim to the now dead dark Keyblade Master's plans, would have finally found peace and those who had been separated for far too long were finally reunited. Yet even so, none of them were truly happy.
Because the one who saved them all was still missing.
"It's been three months now...And we still haven't found him." Kairi whispered to herself, sitting on the paopu fruit tree in Destiny Islands for many times since Sora's disappearance. Her heart ached as they were nowhere near closer in finding him and she felt heartbroken and guilty.
They had tried everything to locate him. Even the Princess of Heart, despite that her training hadn't been enough for the Keyblade War, costing her own life which Sora couldn't bear to go on without and thus made the ultimate sacrifice to bring her back as her life mattered to him much more than his own, had joined in to locate him. King Mickey, Donald and Goofy searched as many worlds as the latter went with Sora as they could, but none of their old friends had even seen him. Riku investigated in Radiant Garden but found nothing, not even from the Restoration Committee.
Axel, Namine, Roxas, Xion and Isa, and even Hayner, Pence and Olette tried looking into Roxas and Xion's memories since they both came from Sora(and hence, both Ventus and Kairi herself) in Twilight Town, but that didn't help either. Aqua, Terra and Ventus even ventured into the Realm of Darkness just in case Sora's heart was taken there and he was trapped. But the Wayfinders couldn't locate him there either.
Not even Kairi herself had any sort of luck. Wanting to at least try and see if maybe her heart could locate him as she did when Sora had been lost to the Final World but her own heart kept him existing along enough to revive himself, travel back in time and change history to prevent everyone's deaths when they lost horribly and consumed by the Heartless Vortex. That memory still frightened her even their deaths were averted.
Even the clues she discovered in a fragment of her childhood memories didn't seem to help and it made Kairi feel even worse, one that Xehanort, having possessed Terra's body at the time and stole the name of Ansem, had captured her and sent her to this world that had become her permanent home.
"However, if you arrive in a world that's similar of light and darkness, yet somewhere on the other side, your task will be far from easy."
Kairi then thought back to what the illusion form of Xehanort told her at the near end of the dream she experienced during her three month suspended sleep.
"Do you remember what it is I said to you? Those words hold the answer you seek. I may cause you to suffer, but I am a product of your heart."
Even so, she thought back to what she told Master Ansem the Wise, Ienzo and Even.
Flash-Back: A week ago...
Having spent three months asleep helping the researchers to find clues to Sora's whereabouts, Kairi had finally woken up and sat on the edge of the chair and told them everything she saw; from Sora's memories to her confrontation against the illusion of Master Xehanort who nearly destroyed her for the second time, how Sora's heart took over her body to save her and defeated him, and the information the evil master told her.
""If you arrive in a world that's similar of light and darkness, yet somewhere on the other side, your task will be far from easy."" Ienzo repeated in deep thought.
"Yes, he said that's the answer." Kairi confirmed.
Even thought deeply about this as he placed his hand underneath his chin. "Not of light or darkness, but on the other side?"
"I've never heard of a place like that..." The youngest man said, with a tone of confusion. This was beyond all of their understanding all the years they have been scientists, both as humans and as Nobodies.
"Something else he said perplexes me..." Even remarked, repeating what else Kairi had mentioned. ""Your voice can't reach us... I'm certain of where you're heart is."" And the Princess of Heart nodded once more.
"You would assume that he's referring to the realm of darkness, but..." Ienzo frowned in concern. "That clearly isn't the case here, wouldn't you say?"
"Where voices can't reach. The other side of our world, of reality...another reality?" Ansem the Wise suddenly theorized, making everyone else glance up at him in confusion and surprise.
"Another reality?" Ienzo asked, blinking as he and Even shared a glance.
'Another reality? Like two of the same world?' Kairi thought. That sounded strange, yet it was beyond any scientists' understanding. It sounded more...like a wordly travel of magic. She then suggested with a bit of hope. "Maybe Mickey or Master Yen Sid knows."
"Then perhaps we should ask them to see what they make of it. It could be a key in locating Sora's whereabouts." Ansem decided, and despite the concerning thought of what they found so far, at least they had a clue.
End of Flash-Back:
Yet even so, when Kairi met up with Riku who had been relieved to see her awake, when they went to ask Master Yen Sid and King Mickey who along with Donald and Goofy had been called back from their futile search, not even they knew much, though they did promise to try and look further into it as much as possible.
In the meantime, Kairi kept up her training, and decided to study under Aqua who agreed to train her, while the others continued to look further into the situation. Today she was allowed to return home for a little bit to think of her thoughts and relax. Sighing, the auburn haired girl gazed over the horizon where she used to watch it with Sora and Riku growing up...and the last time she spent with Sora before he vanished.
"Sora...wherever you are...Please, be alright." Kairi whispered tearfully, placing her hands to her chest. "It's all my fault...If I had been stronger...If I hadn't...If I hadn't been easily captured and then destroyed...You wouldn't have sacrificed yourself for me..."
Unable to hold back any longer, she covered her face into her hands and once again cried in grief and guilt. She wanted Sora back so terribly, and not even the comfort from all of her friends were enough to help her fully recover from the pain of guilt and sorrow.
"Kairi?" A gentle female voice spoke behind her, so familiar and warm.
Lowering her hands from her face that was soaked with her salty tears, Kairi looked over her shoulder to find her mentor Master Aqua, who in their short time together, had become like a mother figure to her due to the blue-haired woman's nature of being so motherly, even towards Ventus despite him having grown up. Aqua had confessed that she had been overprotective given what happened and while she feared in losing her friends again, and what happened to Sora shook her to the core that the Keyblade Master felt guilty for him having to finish what she failed to do all those years ago, having failed her duties and made the ultimate mistake in her haste to save Terra while inadvertently saving Xehanort, thus dooming the Realm of Light to the events that happened...and dooming Sora and Kairi and while the latter was saved, they had been tragically torn apart.
"Master Aqua..." Kairi spoke, her voice all croaked up with tears, and feeling horrible for crying in a less mannered away, quickly wiping her face dry and sniffled.
"Are you okay?" Aqua asked, worriedly as she put aside her duty as master and went into her motherly mode, taking a seat next to her student. She mentally cringed when not only she realized that her protege was far from being okay and her question was a stupid one, but the young gir's face...
Oh, Kingdom Hearts, Kairi was still grieving. The Keyblade Master knew how hard it was, and unlike herself despite having been trapped in the Realm of Darkness for so long, even that was easier to get to despite the risks. Wherever Sora was...it was near-on impossible.
"I'm sorry, Master. It's just...I feel so useless. I try to...I try to hold onto the hope that Sora is still out there, but every time I do...I can't help but blame myself for him having disappeared in the first place." Kairi confessed, trying hard not to cry again. "It's all my fault...I wasn't fully ready. It's because me that...that..."
"Oh, Kairi..." Aqua murmured, her own heart aching in the absolute guilt that she knew was her fault and not the young girl whom she saved years ago, having lead her to Sora and Riku, who had both done their best to keep her safe, saving her so many times, and Sora had recklessly but also very nobly went out of his way to bring her back, and all having grown up so quickly.
She then gently wrapped her arms around the teenage girl and pulled her into a comforting embrace. Unable to help herself, Kairi once again burst into tears and cried on the older woman's shoulder.
"Shhh...It's going to be alright." The blue-haired woman whispered, even as a single tear slid freely from her eyes. 'Kairi...I'm so sorry. I wanted to save Terra and wake Ven, but...my reckless actions caused you, Sora, Riku, Mickey and everybody else to suffer for so long. None of you deserved it. It isn't fair for any of you. I just hope Sora will be found and return home. He's done so much for us...Now it's our turn to save him.'
Yet what the two sorrowful young women were unaware of was that while Master Xehanort was finally defeated and Organization XIII was no more, they had other villains to worry about, a few that they had forgotten about during the hardships. One that was watching them one of the small play huts on the main play island hidden from sight...
Maleficent, the evil Fairy from the Enchanted Dominion, had overheard everything Kairi and Aqua had talked about and smirked evilly. Behind her was Pete, the doofus minion from Disney Castle as while he had been admittedly shocked that Sora had disappeared, he enjoyed the grief the Princess of Heart displayed.
"Aw, boo-hoo! It looks like the Keyblade Brat's little girlfriend is still cryin'. It's a cryin' shame, I tell ya." Pete whispered, smirking.
"Indeed. Kairi is the only Princess of Heart who has not found her successor to take her place as the other six Princesses. Even so, not only she has chosen the path of a Keyblade Bearer, her heart is in such grief in losing Sora. If she continues into this path, darkness may at last grow within her." Maleficent smiled cruelly. "Even with all of the efforts of that foolish girl Aqua and all of her and Sora's friends, finding him will not be an easy feat."
"But you heard what they said for the last three months. They ain't found 'im anywhere. Not even the Realm of Darkness!" The large cat pointed out, scratching the top of his head. "Does that mean that he's dead? You know, gone to that there place where all of the goody-gooders go to?"
"Perhaps...Perhaps not." The evil witch frowned thoughtfully. "From what we have learned, even as those fools proclaimed in Hallow Bastion, they and the girl believe that Sora now remains in another world far beyond Light, Darkness and in Between. Another...reality, they call it."
That caught Pete off-guard. "Ya' mean like another dimension? The boat-boy king's queen Minnie sent me to one before ya' busted me out. You ain't sayin' that kid's there, are ya?"
"The only ones who would know more is the foolish King and that sorcerer." Maleficent said thoughtfully. "Our search for the fools that have the Black Box can wait for a little longer. The longer Sora remains far away, the less he interferes with our plans. You will go spy on them to learn more, and see if we cannot gain access to the other world, and destroy that boy once and for all."
"Huh!?" Pete gaped in shock, but didn't get the chance to ask why as Maleficent disappeared without him, meaning that he would have to use his own corridor of darkness before he groaned, slumping in dismay. "Why me?"
Looks like he's back to spying missions...and he hoped that this time he wouldn't be taken to some world like the Datascape or worse...inside a book. That made him shudder over the thought.
Meanwhile, back in Sonic's Reality...
After returning the Mobini's back to their homes and meeting up with the others who then left to return home themselves, with Amy, Knuckles and Sun making up excuses which made Sonic and apparently Tails confused, the brotherly duo returned home themselves to their shared house in the Mystic Ruins as the blue hedgehog flopped onto the couch in the living room with a sigh.
"Another mission success. Glad that Egghead's finally put in jail that he can't get out of." Sonic smiled as he placed his hands behind his head, relaxing while Tails took a seat in his favorite chair.
"With so many crazy things going on, I'm surprised that we've finally caught him off-guard to his own game." The two-tailed fox replied, then said thoughtfully. "Though it's kind strange that we've been able to do that so easily."
"No stranger than rescuing genies in magic books, having a clone made out of the darkness of a giant half-planet sized monster, my tears and quills, wielding a talking sword in another alternate dimension with me being the other-self of King Arthur a few weeks ago, or saving aliens from an interstellar amusement park." The hero of Mobius pointed out, closing his eyes with a smirk.
The nine year old cub giggled. "Yeah, that's true. I wonder what other crazy things that might be thrown at us?"
Sonic grinned as he half-opened his eyes and teasingly said. "Careful, Tails. You could be jinxing us." He then closed them again and continued. "The other thing I found crazy was an entire planet that's literally made out of sugar, which as much I kinda feel bad about it, tasted pretty delicious."
"And now you're making me feel hungry." Tails shook his head in fake exasperation.
"Sorry." The blue hedgehog sat up, chuckling. "Hey, seeing that we worked hard today in stopping o'l Baldy McNosehair, how 'bout we indulge ourselves for a little something at one of the restaurants in Station Square?"
"Really!?" That made the young fox excited as he leaped off the chair, making his hedgehog brother chuckle.
"I'll take that as a yes." Sonic winked. "C'mon, let's go."
"Alright!" Tails celebrated as he happily hugged Sonic who returned it while laughing. More than anything, the former was glad that the latter was back to how he was before the Dark Gaia incident, no longer being so sad with guilt even though the blue hedgehog had tried his best to recover from it on his own.
But it was the aid from his friends that helped him make it this far.
Back in Station Square, Sora found an empty ally where he hidden himself to make sure no one would spot him in using his Gummiphone. Sure he'd seen a lot of people use cell phones that looked small and rather a bit uninteresting, but he knew that like the one Master Yen Sid, Chip and Dale the Chipmunks, and Jiminy Cricket had given him since the beginning of his last adventure, it was how a lot of people communicated.
"Okay, first I'm gonna try Riku...Knowing him and the others, maybe they're trying to find me. I'm still here so, it's gotta be something." The Keyblade Wielder whispered to himself, pulling out the crown-shaped phone and scrolled through the contacts before tapping on the screen to make a call.
It rang several times as he waited impatiently...only for the screen to show up static and blank with the words, "No signal" was displayed instead.
"What!? Oh, come on! You're kidding me!" Sora groaned, sighing in frustration before he tried Radiant Garden, and when that failed, he tried Aqua, then Axel, then King Mickey, Donald and Goofy, and eventually...Kairi...
Seeing the tears on his closest friend's face ached his heart the most. He missed her, but he rather having had been the one gone instead of her. Losing her was horrible enough as it was.
But none of the contacts worked at all.
"Great! Just great!" The teenage wielder slumped against the wall and slid down onto the ground, sighing hopelessly. "Not only I can't get myself out of this world since I lost my powers again, I can't even make a phone call or get the others to come and find me. What kind of a world is this? If it's not the afterlife or anything like that, then where in the Realm of Light am I?"
To make matters worse, his stomach began to grumble and Sora groaned, placing a hand to his belly and sighed again. "To make things worse, I'm starving. I wish I could at least have something to eat."
Trapped in an unknown world all alone with no contact, no food, no money, not even a place to stay for a while, Sora stood up and put the phone away into his pockets and scratched the back of his head, before remembering how Hayner, Pence and Olette would get part-time jobs to earn enough money for tickets at the train station, and how he had learned how to cook back in Twilight Town, he decided that he only had one option for the time being.
"Guess I'd better get myself a job while I'm here. What choice do I have?" Sora sighed, stepping out of the alley.
Unaware that Sonic and Tails were having a race towards their own destination in high speed via running and flight.
"Almost there, almost there! I'm so gonna win this!" Sonic grinned excitedly.
"Not this time, Sonic!" Tails smirked with determination, only to look up ahead and gasped in shock when he saw a teenage human boy with spiky brunette hair, a red and black short zipper jacket with short sleeves, dark under shirt with black and red nicker bocker shorts, black and yellow shoes with dark grey and red material gauntlet gloves, wearing a silver crown-chained necklace. "Sonic, look out!"
"Huh!?" Sonic blinked, looking up ahead and gasped in shock before he quickly began to skid to a stop. But it was too late, so he ended up screaming out. "Hey, look out!"
"Huh, what!?" Sora, not paying much attention, looked to his right and saw a strange duo of blue and yellow blurs coming straight towards him, belonging to...a blue hedgehog and a flying fox. Screaming in alarm, he stumbled back, but even as the hedgehog skid to a stop, he still ended up rushing past him and sent the human boy falling onto the ground. "Whoa! Omph!"
Finally stopping, the hero of Mobius turned to see the guy fall over with a groan and cringed in guilt, before hurrying back in normal speed, standing in front of the guy. "You okay, dude?"
"Uh...Y-yeah." Sora, a bit dazed and stunned over the unbelievable speed, shook his head.
"Sorry 'bout that. I'm usually careful in not crashing into people." Sonic apologetically responded, holding out his hand to help the guy up while Tails landed next to him. When the spiky-haired teen looked up, the two Mobians were quite stunned to see that not only this boy looked about the same age as the cobalt speedster, but his face and the way his hair is...blue eyes as well that looked beautiful.
'Whoa! He looks kinda like Chris.' Sonic thought to himself, blinking a little before mentally shaking away his thoughts.
Sora in the meantime was just as surprised. While he knew that neither of these two were any of his best friends, somehow the blue hedgehog reminded him of Mickey and Goofy all mixed up but either triangle like ears, quills on the back of his head and back, peach arms, muzzle and torso with blue fur and cool looking red and white shoes with golden buckles.
None the less, Sonic gave him his friendly smile, still holding out his hand and waited patiently. "Here, let me help ya help."
Seeing that this hedgehog was very friendly as he could sense light within him, rather very powerful for some reason, but in a different way, the spiky-haired teen smiled back and held onto the teenage hedgehog's hand as he pulled him up to his feet.
"Thanks, and sorry for not looking where I was going." Sora replied.
"No problem. Guess we gotta be more careful, huh?" Sonic said back.
"That sure was a close one." Tails remarked.
"Yeah." Sora nodded in agreement, before realizing that the little fox with the hedgehog, while looking incredibly cute with sapphire blue eyes, an adorable smile, and having shoes that were red and white, had a twin feature and his eyes widened in shock and awe. "Whoa! You've got two tails!"
"Uh, yeah...I was pretty much born with them. Not sure how or why, though." The two-tailed kit scratched the back of his head, a little nervously as he and Sonic, who fidgeted a little in worry over his little brother's situation given the poor cub's history before their meeting years ago. Thankfully, they didn't need to worry.
"That's really cool. I've never met anybody with two tails before." The Keyblade Wielder responded, then added to Sonic. "Come to think of it, I've never met anybody that could run so fast before either."
"Really? Then I guess you're pretty new in town. Not that I'm surprised." Sonic shrugged. "What's your name?"
"Oh, I'm Sora, and yeah, I'm pretty much new here." Sora sheepishly replied, also scratching the back of his head before asking. "What are your names?"
"I'm Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog." The blue hedgehog introduced himself with his usual thumbs up.
"My name's Miles Prower, but my friends call me by my nickname Tails, for obvious reasons." The two-tailed fox cub added.
"Hey there." Sora greeted with a wave, which instantly made the two Mobian like him already. But then his stomach growled and he blushed heavily in embarrassment.
"Huh, sounds to me like you haven't eaten a thing all day." Sonic correctly guessed, which made the human teenager chuckle sheepishly.
"Yeah, pretty much. It's even worse that I don't have any money on me, and well, I was gonna go find a place to get a job to earn some. It's been so long that the last time I had anything was ice cream." The Keyblade Wielder admitted.
Sonic and Tails, surprised to hear this yet fully unaware of who Sora really was and where he came from, shared a glance and smiled, having come to a silent agreement with nods and turned back to the human boy.
"Well, why don'tcha come with us? We're heading over to a restaurant for a bite to eat ourselves." The blue hedgehog suggested.
"Huh? You want me to join you guys?" The spiky-haired teen asked, stunned by the generous offer.
"Sure. Of course you can come." Tails said smiling.
"You sure? I don't wanna be bother."
"Who says you are? We never leave anybody who need help, and everyone needs to eat, right?" Sonic winked.
Despite that he felt a bit guilty for relying on other people to help him out, Sora could tell that Sonic and Tails help other people out all the time and, gazing at the blue hedgehog's emerald green eyes, strangely enough the hero of Mobius reminded the Keyblade Wielder of himself; always willing to help others no matter what and asked very little in return. There was something about the cobalt teenager which made him want to be friends with and that anybody with a heart of light could like this guy.
Chuckling happily, Sora decided to take up the offer. "Okay. Thanks. I owe you guys."
"Nah, it's cool." Sonic smirked. "Your smiling face is all the thanks that I need."
'There's something about this guy that makes me feel so happy and safe. He reminds me of myself; always helping out others without second thought. Still, I really owe him for helping me out even just a little.' Sora thought to himself as he gave his thanks with a nod, and followed Sonic and Tails towards their destination.
Short time later, the trio found themselves at a All you can Eat diner where they sat at a table, giving out their orders. Normally Sonic would go for Chili Dogs, but he decided to go for something different today and opted for Steak and Mashed potato with salad on the side. Tails had spaghetti, and Sora decided to try out grilled fish with roasted potatos with warm vegetables, and all three of them enjoyed their meals happily.
"I'm surprised you decided to not go for Chili Dogs today, Sonic." Tails admitted.
"Hey, I'm a sucker for Chili Dogs, but even I can't eat them 24/7, as much as I love them." Sonic chuckled. "The world tour did teach me to eat other kinds of food, you know."
"Guess that's true." The two-tailed fox giggled, wiping away the spaghetti sauce that somehow ended up on his muzzle, and laughed when his older brother noticed a spot and helped him clean it off. "S-Sonic!"
"What? I'm just helpin' out my best buddy and li'l bro." The blue hedgehog said teasingly.
"C'mon! I'm not a baby!"
"You're still my little brother I love so much, though."
"F-Fair point, but still...!"
"Huh? Little brother?" Sora paused eating despite trying not to laugh at the cute scene displayed before him, which made the two best friends/brothers stop and glanced at him, before chuckling.
"Oh, sorry." Sonic laughed. "But yeah, me and Tails have been best buddies and brothers for almost five years now."
"We've been on a lot of adventures together, and have a lot of fun even at home too. Despite our different interests and personalities, it only brought us closer together. Right, Sonic?" Tails added, smiling happily.
"Correct." The blue hedgehog confirmed proudly.
While Sora did see that Sonic and Tails were best friends and he realized that they had been racing somehow though he couldn't understand why the two-tailed fox could be fast like the blue hedgehog who could run at the speed of sound, as he was told, the spiky-haired teen felt a sense of sadness form in his chest. Best friends...friends that he left behind.
"Wow. That's...really great." Sora said with a small smile, though he couldn't help to gaze low at the thought of everybody he cared about, everyone he fought so hard to save and bring back, at the cost of his powers and end up trapped in this new world with no way out or any way to contact anybody for help. Even hearing the word adventures brought him back to his own adventures and fun times.
For most of his life ever since he learned how to walk and talk, and growing up, his races with Riku on the island, meeting and hanging out with Kairi, the trio's plans to leave the Islands once they were old enough, building the raft, the time of their separation, Sora meeting new friends to help him including his travelling companions Donald and Goofy, who despite wanting to find King Mickey, soon grew close to the teenager and loyal to him to the point of not wanting to betray him either, the teenage boy sacrificing himself to free Kairi's heart before she brought him back due to their hearts being connected, all of the adventures in every single world he's been to, both prior and after his year long sleep, reuniting with the King and Riku, all of the battles, meeting those who were lost after saving them, losing them in the original time-line, given a second chance to save them and change history, the loss of Kairi, the ultimate choice to sacrifice himself to bring her back, coming to terms with his own feelings to her before saying goodbye.
The more Sora thought about it, the more he deeply missed his friends and wished he could be with them while unconsciously shedding a tear. This was noticed by Sonic and Tails who both looked surprised to see their new friend suddenly and silently cry.
"Sora?" Tails spoke up, worriedly.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Sonic asked in concern, wondering if he said something that upset the spiky-haired boy.
"Huh? What?" Sora blinked, which made more tears slid free.
"Why are you sad?" The blue hedgehog added more softly. "Is everything alright?"
Confused at first, the Keyblade Wielder then realized he was crying and, feeling embarrassed despite that Sonic was correct to assume that he was feeling upset, he quickly wiped away his tears and patted himself on the cheeks to calm down.
"S-sorry. Don't know where that came from." Sora apologetically replied.
Even so, the two Mobians couldn't help but suddenly feel guilty as they shared a worried glance, with Sonic whispering to his little brother. "Uh oh. Did I say something wrong?"
"I don't think so..." Tails whispered back.
Now feeling increasingly worried and sensing that the fifteen year old human must've been through something terrible, half-guessing that maybe Sora has amnesia like both Shadow and... Chip had, which the very thought of Light Gaia made Sonic feel the linger of sadness that forever hanged in his heart but quickly shook away those thoughts, the blue hedgehog stood up and approached his new friend, gently placing a comforting hand on Sora's shoulder, making the young Keybearer to gaze at him in a bit of surprise.
"Sora, if there was anything I said to upset you, then I'm sorry. I didn't mean it, really." Sonic apologetically said, then smiled softly. "If there's anything me and Tails can do, we'll help ya out."
"Oh, no, you didn't do anything wrong, Sonic. It's just, well..." Sora was hesitant, knowing that he couldn't tell his new friends where he came from or how he got here, due to the World Order laws, even though Xehanort broke it like a million times already, then sighed and decided to go for half the truth. "I...I got separated from my best friends. Long story short, but...we've been through a whole together and...I'm not sure where to find them, or where to look. I never even been to this city before, so I'm pretty lost all together."
Despite hearing that the spiky-haired teen was only speaking half of the truth, Sonic and Tails both felt their hearts ache as they realized what the problem was. Sora missed his friends so much he wants to go home, and, as far as they knew, the teenage boy's friends could be anywhere in Mobius. While not sure what to do, the cobalt teenager immediately knew what he had to do, having the experience of rescuing others and reuniting missing people with their friends and family, and smiled.
"I'll help ya', Sora. If any luck, maybe we can figure out how to find them." Sonic declared.
"What?" Sora gaped in shock, and while he could tell that like himself, the blue hedgehog wasn't willing to leave others who need help the most, the latter did not know anything about the Realm of Light and thus he had no idea how to get off without breaking the rules. "Sonic, I-I'm not sure you can help me. My problem is, well, very complicated and even impossible."
Sonic just grinned with a wink. "Hey, you're talkin' to one of the coolest heroes of Mobius who beats impossible right out of the window. We'll find your friends. I promise!"
"You can count me in!" Tails added excitedly, as he hopped off of his seat and joined Sonic while gazing at the still stunned Sora. "It may take a while, but never give up."
"Helping out others is what we do best." The hero of Mobius continued. "Plus, it'll be fun going on another adventure."
Even though Sora still kind of doubted that he could ever get off of this world unless he told Sonic and Tails the truth, and even then, unless they had a ship to explore the skies and the Lanes Between, seeing their expressions, hearing their words, and he was reminded of how he always helped out others without second thoughts too, how King Mickey once told him that helping others always came before asking others for help, and just sensing their powerful lights within the Mobians' hearts that was still different somehow but bright none the less, he felt a linger of hope that maybe, just maybe, there was a chance after all.
"Thanks, Sonic, Tails." Sora chuckled, smiling brightly for the first time in what felt like forever.
"See? There ya' go. A smile is always much better than sadness." Sonic responded, then he and Tails held out their fists for a fist bump.
Remembering the fist bump he learned back in San Fransokyo, the Keyblade Wielder grinned before standing up and returned it, before he and his new companions shared high-fives, while ignoring the slightly confused looks on the other costumers' faces as the people around them wondered what was going on.
Though what Sonic and Sora were unaware of was that Tails suddenly remembered that he was supposed to help Amy with Sonic's birthday which was in a few weeks and mentally sweat dropped.
'I just hope this won't take long, or else Sonic's gonna find out about his birthday again this year. But I wanna help out Sora too...Man, this just suddenly got more complicated.' The two-tailed fox thought to himself.
What all three of them didn't know was that things were only going to become more complicated or what awaited for them up ahead.
A/N: Sonic and Sora have met and now they and Tails are about to begin their new adventure that would be nearly impossible, but as they sometimes say; anything is possible.
See you later!
