"Well, crap," the boy said, holding two fingers to his hairline as he stared down at Eijirou. "Lotta blood there."

Eijirou made no move to respond, unless bleeding on the floor counted as a response. His adversary reached into his pockets, and pulled out an earpiece like the one he had seen Fukusei use. He pressed it into his ear, and waited.

"I may have just really hurt a guy," he finally said. There was yelling on the other end. The expression on his face immediately shifted to annoyed.

"Shut it. It's happened, and there's nothing you can really do about it. Now portal him to Recovery Girl."

This statement was followed a second later by a very loud reprimanding. Eijirou distinctly heard the words "That is no way to talk to a girl!"

"I'm disconnecting. Get him where he needs to be or I'll punch you," the boy stated. He took the device out of his ear and waited, until a circular… something with flowing red around the edges opened up in the ground. Through it, he saw a bed that looked very familiar. The boy knelt down, gripping Eijirou by the arms, and heaved him through.

That was the last thing Eijirou saw before he was in a white bed that was rapidly becoming much more crimson. Recovery Girl looked around to see him, and saw a hole that led to where he had just been, floating above him. She sighed, and used her quirk on him immediately. The skin almost instantly realigned and merged, the blood flow stemming, and Eijirou felt very sleepy.

"So you've finally met them, have you? Which one did it?"

Todoroki and Izuku had somehow ended up at the same place. The way they found out was by literally running into each other. Izuku had turned the corner and immediately smacked into Todoroki. Although he didn't mind, Izuku still apologized profusely, bowing so fast he was a green blur.

And then they heard talking.

Creeping to the corner, they found two people engaged in conversation, one with a wild look in his eyes and a green costume, and another with an expressionless face and a shimmering scarlet and gold costume.

"So you haven't gotten anyone yet?" The one in green asked, sauntering along, his arms swinging.

"No," came the quick, monotonous reply.

"Hm. You should, bit of a fun break to beat up someone other than ourselves." The fire student shot him a look that, even without the unchanging face, conveyed a slight emotion of surprise.

"Haven't heard you say something like that about someone else since we had Galactus."

"Galactus was explodey. 'Course I'd have fun with him," he shrugged. "I just got that one guy who could harden his body. You know him I think. He looks like he's made of stone when he uses his quirk. He actually resisted a 1 percenter. That was his highest though. 2 percent broke him up like glass."

Izuku stared in shock. Was Kirishima-kun okay?

"Is he alright?"

"Yeah. Portaled to Recovery Girl in no time."

The student with the fiery costume sighed, and even that sound was bland as the spice tolerance of a white American from the suburbs. "You might be having fun for the first time in a while, but still, consider their limits." These words were conveyed in the most emotionless tone you could think of. There were only the slightest hints of changing pitch, granting something of a sense of humanity to this flat statement. It seemed forced, however.

"I've taken it into account, yeah."

Todoroki turned to Izuku. "I'll freeze them both with as much ice as I can use in one go. You get up to the top of that building and drop down on any one of them if something goes wrong," he whispered. It was a simple plan, and therefore ingenious, as you would expect from Todoroki. Prevent them from making any moves, and have insurance nearby if the plan does not go smoothly.

Izuku ran into the space between two buildings, and quickly scaled the walls, jumping from one to another, higher and higher, until he had reached the top. There, he waited.

Todoroki stepped out from his hiding place and sent a wall of ice speeding at the two heroes-in-training. It quickly engulfed them both before they had a chance to react. He pushed as hard as he could, sending more and more ice their way with every second. Izuku watched in awe as the ice rose taller than the buildings he was standing on. Soon, it was as huge as a skyscraper. Todoroki finally cut off the freezing flow, and waited, using a little bit of fire to warm himself up.

The ice melted in an instant and exploded into flying shards at the same time. Their opponents stepped out of the mess, and blue fire licked the street until the ice had turned to steam. There was a clapping sound, and a small shockwave cleared the area of the grey mist.

That level of teamwork was impressive. Unfortunately, it did not bode well for them.

"A sneak attack, huh?" the one in green said, a calm, but dangerous smile on his face. "I don't like that."

Izuku dropped on him, and he thudded into the pavement, cracking the ground with his face. He leaped up and whirled around, a fist speeding towards Midoriya. The impact was like ten wrecking balls all hitting at once, and that too with enough force behind them to pound a hole through a mountain.

Izuku flew backwards and smashed into a building.

"Oh, nice," the green one said. "'nother power type."

He turned to his companion. "I'm taking that one. You can have the fridge."

With that, he knelt to the ground, and blasted into the building in a second, raising grey dust as he crashed through.

The one in red and gold turned to Shouto. "Afternoon," he said, raising his hand in greeting, his face forever unchanging.

Red fire flared in his hands, and he settled into a combat pose, his flaming hands held in front of him. Shouto didn't usually even feel nervous at the worst of times, but now he was struck with something he had never truly felt before.

Apprehension.

And then all hell broke loose.
