Chapter 309: Nightmare Luffy VS. Shukaku
Nightmare Luffy stared down the demon in front of him. He knew he had to find a way to wake up Gaara.
Especially since unlike last tome there wasn't a version of Gaara sticking out from the demon.
And much like with the rumble ball, there was a time limit to how long Nightmare Luffy would be like this…
Thankfully it was a lot longer than the rumble ball in comparison.
But the key word of "In comparison."
And so Nightmare Luffy punched the Shukaku in the face sending it flying.
"How strong is Luffy right now?" asked Sasuke.
"I don't know and I think I do want to." Responded Sanji.
Nightmare Luffy ran over to Shukaku and punched it in the eye.
"What the hell!" yelled Shukaku.
Luffy began to punch Shukaku in the face a lot.
"Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!" repeated Nightmare Luffy.
"I should make a snarky comment but in this case I think it fits." Said the Kyubi possessed Naruto as he watched with Fu.
"What?" asked Fu.
"It's complicated…" sighed Chomei.
Night Luffy kicked Shukaku in the face sending him flying high into the air.,
When Shukaku landed.
"You really think you can wake him up… he is deep within me,." He mocked.
"I'll find a way!" yelled Nightmare Luffy.
He continued to beat up the giant sand demon.
That was when he grabbed the tail and spun Shukaku around and ended up tossing him into the mansion.
"Whelp… the mansion's gone." Said the Kyubi possessed Naruto.
"I think it's good riddance." Said Fu with a shrug.
The Kyubi Possessed Naruto nodded.
Nightmare Luffy mean grabbed Shukaku by the face and once again began to punch it.
"Let him wake up already!" yelled Nightmare Luffy.
"Why would you even care?" asked Shukaku.
"Because he's a member of my crew! No matter what happens!" yelled Nightmare Luffy.
Shukaku gritted his teeth… hoping to try to persuade to give up on Gaara.
But it wasn't going to happen, he should have known it wasn't going to work but he had to at least try.
Shukaku got up and began to use his wind attack on Nightmare Luffy. However Nightmare Luffy dodged the attacks.
"You should know by now I don't care if Gaara has you inside of him!' yelled Luffy giving a very harsh punch to the raccoon dog demon.
Fu watched this battle.
"He really doesn't care we have demons inside us… does he?" asked Fu.
"I'm the one in control now remember…" said the Kyubi Possessed Naruto.
"Oh… yeah…" said Fu with a sweat drop.
"But he doesn't care, remember him and Kit are half brothers." Said the Kyubi Possessed Naruto, "The second he found out it didn't matter, all that mattered was that they were brothers."
Fu smiled when he said.
"I guess it doesn't matter if it seems like he drove his crew insane… he sound like a great guy." Said Fu with a smile.
"Oh right… forgot you witnessed that." Said the Kyubi Possessed Naruto with a sweat drop.
"Yeah…" said Fu.
Nightmare Luffy on the other hand began to once again punch the demon.
"Come on Gaara! Wake up!" yelled Nightmare Luffy.
"It's not going to work… as long as he can breathe I'm keeping him in there as long as possible." Mocked Shukaku.
"Why you!" yelled Nightmare Luffy once again punching him.
This time very hard that a part of his face fall off, however he quickly reformed it.
"Nice try buddy boy!" mocked Shukaku.
Nightmare Luffy went on onto Shukaku back and began to try to tear apart the sand demon, but it didn't work.
"It's not going to be that easy, don't you get it?" asked Shukaku.
Nightmare Luffy jumped high into the air and shot his leg into the air and proceeded to perform a drop kick.
"Gum Gum Axe!" called out Nightmare Luffy.
This powerful drop kick cut off another chunk of Shukaku.
But he still reformed.
"Why you!" yelled Nightmare Luffy.
With those watching.
"What was Gaara like the time when Naruto fought him?" asked Sasuke.
"He was sticking out of its head." Said Ino.
"It was really freaky." Said Usopp.
"And where he's hiding him it isn't good." Said Nami.
Nightmare Luffy meanwhile got an idea.
He picked up Shukaku by the tail and once again spun him around, this time aiming for the water. However this time Shukaku was wise to it. He aimed one of his wind attack at the ground and managed to land before he hit the water.
"Nice try!" mocked Shukaku.
Nightmare Luffy could sense his time was almost up.
"All right! Time for one final attack!" he called out.
He took the sword he had on his back and cut of its eyes.
"Oh come on!" yelled Shukaku.
Nightmare Luffy inhaled a lot of air and twisted himself.
He exhaled the air, which gave him a spin.
"Gum Gum Storm!" he called out.
And he began to use a massive storm of rapid-fire punches. The attack was a hard blow and caused the demon to lose chunks of his body.
Everyone watching was amazed and sure he was winning.
"Amazing." Said Human Lola from her vantage point.
"Is… this fight getting us anywhere?" asked one of Lola's crew members who was confused by what was going on.
And when it was done, Shukaku wasn't moving…
However that was when black shapes began to escape Nightmare Luffy's body.
"This is bad." Said the Kyubi Possessed Naruto.
"What? But he's not moving." Said Fu.
"No… he's right, it's clearly a trap." Said Chomei.
As the shadows left the body Luffy started to return to normal.
That was when they heard a laughter.
"I'm not done yet!" yelled Shukaku getting up.
"Why did is taking so much to wake up Gaara!" yelled Naruto.
"Because he's being an asshole about it and making sure there's no way to wake him up." Responded Kyubi.
"Oh right…" said Naruto.
Indeed, Shukaku wasn't down yet… and there was still no way to wake Gaara. They would have to figure out a way soon in order to save him and the rest of the island ship… thing…
Meanwhile Moria was watching this fight.
"Did… did they all forget about me?" he asked confused.
That was when he got a terrible idea…
He was just going to remain quiet for the rest of the fight and just let play out… after all, once everything was over who knows what would happen…
