Chapter 316: Telling Brook

As Brook tinkered with the piano Sanji approached him.

"I thought you played the violin." Said Sanji.

"I can play almost any instrument." Said Brook, "anyways getting back to you know what with who… I saw what happened too… and I touched by what happened."

Sanji looked at the skeleton.

"Friendship is a wonderful thing." Said Brook.

"Don't try to include me in that." Said Sanji, "He was a hero and I just looking stupid."

"No you have the same resolve." Said Brook, "Shall I play you a song? Have any requests?"

"Well if you can play anything…" said Sanji.

"Hm… how about Bink's Sake." Said Brook.

"I thought you were taking requests!" yelled Sanji.

He began to play the song.

Everyone in the room was enjoying.

Both Luffy and Naruto decided to approach the piano.

"Hey we know this song"! said Luffy.

"Shanks' crew used to sing it all the time." Said Naruto.

"All the pirates used to sing this one all the time, during happy times and touring hard times." Said Brook.

"You're going to become one of us, right?" asked Luffy.

Brook didn't answer.

"Come on you got your shadow back!" said Naruto.

"You can go sailing the sun." said Luffy.

"About that, there's something I didn't tell you." Said Brook.

"What is it?" asked Luffy.

"There's a promise I made to friend long ago. I can't consider myself a man unless I fulfill it." Said Brook.

"Oh you mean Laboon…" said Luffy.

"I told Luffy." Said Naruto.

"I see." Said Brook.

"I didn't tell you something when you told us." Said Naruto, "It's because I knew Luffy should be the one to tell you."

"Tell me what?" asked Brook.

We know Laboon." Said Luffy.

""What?" asked Brook in disbelief.

"It's true! He's been waiting for you." Said Naruto.

"He has!" said Brook.

"In fact Naruto predicted that one of his friends was still alive thanks to a Devil Fruit." Laughed Luffy, "It's why Sasuke is naked."

"You didn't have to tell him that part!" yelled Sasuke.

Brook paid no attention to that though.

"Can you imagine my surprise when I found a survivor for one of his pirates happen to be you." Said Luffy.

"He still remembers your promise." Said Luffy, "If realized it's you he'll be so happy."

"Wait… wait a minute." Said Brook, "This is all suddenly… you really met him?"

"Yep!" said Luffy.

"After all these years…" Said Brook, "He's still at the cape."

"You're not pulling my leg." Said Brook.

"Most of us were there." Said Hinata.

"It's true." Said Sakura.

"Why else would Sasuke be naked?" asked Usopp.

"Shut up!" yelled Sasuke.

"He's well?" asked Brook.

"He is." Laughed Luffy.

"Well expect for a bunch of scars… one of which Luffy caused." Said Kyubi.

"I'm not telling him that." Thought Naruto.

"It's for the best." Responded Kyubi.

"He's must have grown so big." Said Brook.

"As big as a mountain." Sid Luffy.

Brook laughed, "I wish I could see him. When we parted he was the size of a small boat." He told them.

"He could be trouble sometimes but he was a good child. Even now when I close my eyes I can't still see him, but I don't have any eyes." He decided to crack a joke, "But I can still picture him…"

He banged the piano keys and began to cry.

"That's great! After all this time! He still…" cried Brook.

Brook thought about Laboon and how he showed up one day lost and became one of the crew. He was always there for them, even saving the crew when they fell overboard.

They knew that the Grand Line was no place for a baby whale so they left at the cape and counted onto the grand line.

During the journey however, many of the crew including the captain got very sick. Brook was chosen at the new captain and the ship was left in their hands while the sick members tried to leave the grand line.

Although his crew did die on his watch.

Everyone was staring at Brook as he wasn't playing.

They were shocked when he opened up his skull and pulled something out.

"He can do that!" yelled a good chunk of the crew.

The thing he pulled out was a tone dial.

"This is a tone dial, it's a that I bought from a merchant ship. It's rare type of seashell that records and memorizes sounds." Said Brook.

"Yeah we got some from Skypiea." Said Naruto.

"Oh you know what it is, anyways if I ever wee Laboon I want him to listen to it. I've never parted away from it." Said Brook.

"What's recorded on it?" asked Usopp.

"It holds the last song sung by my crew. The song showed that we lived joyously until the end. That's our message to Laboon." Said Brook, "Can I play it now?"

"Yes. I've love to hear it" Said Luffy, "I'm sure it will make Laboon happy."

"I know the words, so let's sang along." Said Lola.

Those at the party sang along with the song, which thanks to certain reasons will not be written down.

Indeed it did capture the last moments of Brook's crew who died thanks to poisoned weapons used in a fight.

They all sang their heart out until Brook was the last to die.

Once it was done, Brook explained everything.

"This was the Rumbar pirates last great song. For fifty years I sailed all alone on that dark sea. I wonder how many times I listened to it." Said Brook, "All alone, on a giant ship, this was my only link to other people. But from now on, it will be sealed away."

He once again opened up his skull phreaking people out.

"That is so creepy." Said Sakura.

"I know…" sighed Isaribi.

"I now know that Laboon is wafting for me, my shadow as returned and the curse of this sea is gone. The voices on the shell might have kept me sane but it wasn't meant for me. There was never a day that easy, frankly I have given up hoe" Said Brook, "But thanks to you Luffy, I'm glad I lived! I'm glad to be alive. Because a day like today has come"

Everyone in the room smiled.

And that is when Brook asked Luffy something.

"Um… can I join the crew?" asked Brook.

"Sure!" responded Luffy.

"He joined just like that!" yelled most of the crew.

"Awesome!" cheered Naruto.

Both Hinata and Robin laughed.

And with that simple question, Brook joined.
