Hey, fairy tail fans, I'm back with the next chapter in a fairy tail re-told; as of now, I think I will be able to hold my original update schedule because, well, I'm not exactly doing anything right now and have more than enough free time on my hands, so take that as you will anyway let's get started.
Last time on, a fairy tail re-told.
Natsu: Magnolia disappeared
Carla: I'm sorry, this is all me and the tomcats' fault
Wendy: don't say that, Carla.
Happy: I don't even know what I did
"Edolas," Natsu asked, confused, "what is that"
"is a world that exists freely from your own," Carla explained. "However, it started to lose its magic in recent years."
"what" Happy asked
"Lose its magic," Wendy whispered, "how is that possible."
"unlike here," Carla told them, "magic there is a finite resource; without limits on its use, it will disappear forever" Carla looked towards the giant hole in the sky "to protect their dwindling magic, the king of edolas developed magic to take it from another world."
"and what was it called," Natsu asked
"anima"
Edolas
"So that's what anima is," Wendy asked, remembering how her Jellal went on about and how he left her so he could seal it 'that's what Jellal was talking about,' she thought to herself.
"Around six years ago, they started placing anima all around the border of our worlds," Carla told them, "but something went wrong. The anima started closing" Carla let out a sigh 'my suspensions were raised when Wendy mentioned Jellal. But now I can say it was defiantly Mystogen. He was the one closing all the anima' Carla then turned to face the others "unfortunately, this one was too large, and they couldn't close it. Thus all of Magnolia has vanished."
"so why Magnolia" Wendy asked, "is it because of all the wizards."
"that's a safe bet, kid," Natsu told her. "Mavis's magic power alone could probably fire three etherion shots," Natsu told her.
"is it true, Carla," Happy asked, finally speaking up, "this happened because of you and me."
"indirectly," Carla told him, "you and I were given a different task altogether, completely different from anima."
"how," Wendy asked, "you born in this world hatched out of an egg."
"Happy was too' Natsu shouted "it was me that found him"
"if I'm candid," Carla told them, "I've never set foot in edolas," Carla admitted. "I was born and raised here; we were imprinted with this knowledge. so why" Carla asked "why don't you know the first thing about it" she shouted

"I don't know," Happy admitted
"well, in any case," Carla said, turning away from them again, "that's why we're partially responsible."
"what was the mission you were on," Wendy asked.
"I can't tell you," Carla told her. "I'm sorry."
"Please," Happy asked, "I want to know where I came from."
"I said I couldn't tell you," Carla shouted, "you know what it is; you just don't remember."
Natsu had looked to the sky. A million things went through his head at that moment, but he shook off those thoughts "well, there is only one thing to do," Natsu said, "we need to get to Edolas."
"are you insane" Carla shouted.
"you sure," Happy asked before his stomach let out a growl, which caused everyone to chuckle. "I'm scared," Happy muttered, "and being scared makes me hungry."
"it's good to have a happy appetite," Natsu said as he smiled at his friend "if our friends are stuck in edolas, then we have to help them out," he told them. "I'm their protector, and if their king wants them, they need to go through me."
"even if we can get to Edolas, I'm not sure there's much we can do for them," Carla said, "and even then, there no sure-fire way to be able to return home."
Natsu's smile didn't falter" if our friends aren't here, then what would be the point of staying here," Natsu told her, "cept maybe finding Igneel, I guess." Natsu looked to the distance, but in the end, even if h never saw his foster father again, he would save his friends
"I feel the same," Wendy said
"yeah," Happy said, "they'd do the same if it were for us."
"there's almost next to no chance they could still be alive," Carla told Natsu.
"even if there's a small chance," Natsu told her, "we have to try," Natsu told her.
"yeah, Carla," Wendy agreed.
"fine," Carla said, "but if we are to go am going to set some ground rules. "first, by returning to Edolas, I will be abandoning my mission; that is fine as I have already made up my mind in that regard" Carla then turned to Happy. "second you are not to pry for information about said mission, it's not necessary anymore" before turning away one last time. "and lastly At the same time, I know of Edolas, I do not know the land, so I can't be the navigator."
she then turned to Natsu, "and as for you, Natsu," Carla asked, "if I or the tomcat do anything that might constitute a betrayal," Carla paused for a moment, fearing Natsu's reaction, "kill us without hesitation."
"what" Happy screamed, his stomach starting to rumble louder "I would never-"
"stop that disgusting bodily noise," Carla interrupted
Natsu grumbled before nodding his head, smiling. Carla then sprouted her wings and rose.
"Alright, let's go," Carla said, "grab onto Natsu tomcat; I'll grab onto Wendy."
"you ready, buddy," Natsu asked, "you're about to show where you came from."
Happy shook himself out of his stupor and smiled. "Aye, sir."
And with that, the group flew off. Max speed going straight at the giant hole in the sky "tomcat, don't hold back your magic power," Carla told Happy as they flew higher in the atmosphere "at the right moment, fly at full speed so we can head through what is left of the anime" as they passed a bright light blinded them as they entered the anima.

"Are we there yet," Natsu asked as he opened his eyes and saw the sight before him. The group flew through the sky, passing all sorts of things they'd never see in their world: floating islands, strange animals and plants, and rivers flowing in the sky. There were floating island terrains levitating off the mainland and streams of flouting rivers that flow threw them, all of which they assumed were naturally suspended in the air by the world's magic. The daytime sky is colored lime green with visible celestial objects such as moons and planets.
"wow," Happy muttered.
"yeah," Wendy said, "this is amazing."
"look at that," Natsu said, " A river in the sky; the boys back home will never believe this." he smiled as Carla and Happy flew them around
"We aren't here on a sightseeing trip," Carla told them, "keep your wits about."
"yeah yeah," Natsu muttered
before anyone could comment further, both Happy and Carla's wings vanished in an instant, causing them to fall to the ground through some strange plants
"ouch," Wendy muttered
"my wings won't work," Happy muttered
"I told you magic is limited supply here," Carla told them as she came out of the edolas mushroom "we'll just have to walk from here."
"Alright," Natsu said, "let's move and save our friends."
"do you have any idea where to go, Natsu," Happy asked.
"we'll just follow my nose," Natsu told him before sniffing around "damn it," Natsu muttered, "all these new smells are messing the good old tracker."
behind them, Wendy consumed some air "the air around here tastes different too," she mentioned, " I can't put the finger on it, though."
"I wonder how the fire will taste," Natsu said as they started walking.
"All this talk about eating makes me hungrier," Happy moaned.
"I don't know what we could eat," Wendy told him.
"we're trapped in a bizarre world we know nothing about, and the first thing any of you think about is food," Carla shouted.
"where are we going anyway," Happy said, ignoring Carla's remark.
"I don't know," Natsu said, "we have to go somewhere, so why not this way."
"I was afraid you'd say that," Happy deadpanned.
"I haven't seen a single person," Wendy said, "is it a forest world."
"forest world or not, we'll need disguises," Carla said
"I have an idea," Natsu said, smiling
a few seconds later; the group appeared entirely covered by leaves and whatever else Natsu could find lying on the ground, "it's so itchy," Happy complained, "why."
"what's the matter," Natsu said, "you look like a thing that doesn't look like Happy."
"it's so embarrassing," Wendy muttered. She was covered in mushrooms.
"fashion sense aside, I do feel more at ease now."
"you do," Happy asked, "well, I don't; it's hot and itchy here."
"toughen up, tomcat."
the group then came up to the flying waterfall that they had seen earlier and a man fishing nearby "he has the right idea," Happy muttered
"wow, a normal person," Wendy muttered.
"what you'd expect people to look like," Happy asked.
"don't worry about it," Wendy told him.
"Ima go ask him if he knows where we're at," Natsu said; you guys stay here. The boy then walked up to the man and tapped him on the shoulder. The man looked at Natsu before letting out a scream and running off, leaving his fishing pole behind "jeez, what's his problem."
"Maybe you scared him with your face," Happy shouted.
"shut it, cat."
"if that man reports us to the authorities, we're through," Carla shouted
"well then, let's ditch the disguise," Happy muttered
a few moments later, the group was walking over a riven "we need to hurry now; there's no telling if that man reports us to the authors and the kingdom figures out, we're here."
"man, he took his fishing rod," Happy muttered.
"Sorry, little buddy," Natsu told him
"you guys hear that," Wendy asked, looking down.
"wow, big fish," Happy shouted, "look, Natsu."
"wow," Natsu said, "looks like we found dinner" as soon as he said that, he popped out of the water, revealing its enormous body as it let out a roar which caused water to go everywhere.

"it's huge," Happy screamed.
"too huge," Carla said in a panic.
"We won't go hungry, at least," Natsu said
"but Natsu," Wendy asked, "we don't have our magic or anything to catch it with."
"then I'll do it the good ole fashioned way" Natsu lunged at the fish, landing a powerful punch that did almost nothing looking in terror as the fish swatted him away like a bug "or we could run," he muttered, only to see that Wendy Carla and Happy were already long gone "hey" Natsu shouted as he ran to catch up with them as the fish chased them "you left me."
"you said to run," Wendy shouted.
"you could have at least made sure I was okay first," Natsu retorted
"Sorry," Happy shouted.
"stop," Carla shouted as the group came to a stop; they looked over the edge.
"This can't be where it ends," Natsu shouted. "I'm not going to be known as the guy who lost to a fish," he called as he turned around, only for the giant fish to go entirely over them and fall into the river below.
"Okay," Natsu said, "we need a new strategy."
"how about we stay quiet" Carla told him
"don't patronize me cat," Natsu retorted
moments later, the group was again lost in the forest "life is weird," Happy said
"This has to be the craziest adventure you and I have been on so far, buddy," Natsu said to his friend
"uh-oh," Wendy muttered
"what," Natsu asked as he looked up. He saw elderly people who were also walking in the forest, "we've been spotted again."
"Hello," Happy said, "we appear to be lost," the cat said excitedly.
"mighty Exceed, please forgive us," they cried.
"umm, what," Happy said as Natsu stepped forward,
"don't scare em, Natsu." Happy said
"I just want to talk," Natsu said. "I have a question if you don't mind," but before he could ask, the pair had run off screaming to the heavens, "well, excuse me."
"It may seem weird, but I think those two were more scarred of Happy and Carla," Wendy said
"See, I knew it wasn't me," Natsu muttered.
"Be honest with me," Happy asked, "did I look scary back there."
"Yeah, you looked like you were about to eat them alive," Natsu joked.
"no, I didn't," Happy told him as Natsu stepped on something squishy.
"what's that" Wendy asked
"just going to move slowly" before Natsu could react, a large mushroom appeared, sending the group flying in the sky before they landed in a shack that seemed to have a bunch of books "why" Natsu muttered.
"it may be too late to take precautions," Carla muttered, "but let's see if there's anything we can disguise ourselves with."
"oh, they have some stuff over here," Natsu called out.
"Hey Natsu, could you not look over here for a sec" Wendy muttered.
"I suppose this could do for now," Carla muttered as she changed.
"you beautiful, my fine feline," Happy shouted.
"Woah," Natsu shouted.
"what," Wendy asked as she tied her hair into a pigtail.

"I found the fairy pub," Natsu told them, "it's in disguise, but I'd recognize it anywhere," he said as he ran to what he assumed was the fairy pub
"wait for us," Wendy shouted as they entered the pub. "I guess everyone's okay."
"somethings not right here," Carla said, " I can feel it," as she dragged everyone under a table.
"Why are we hiding here," Natsu asked
" SO, we can see what's going on," Carla told him
"now that you mention it," Natsu looked around, "there are some people that are missing" he looked over at the request board and saw Juvia talking with Nab.
"well, I'm off," Juvia said, "have another job to finish," she told him. Before she could leave, an overly clothed Gray appeared in front of her.
"wait Juvia, allow me to come," he begged, "just to be alone with you, my dear," which made Natsu gag as he watched with a shocked expression. Gray rarely fawned over Juvia. It was always the other way around, not to mention he had on one too many sweaters.
"as if sweater boy," Juvia's response made them chuckle. That was new Juvai wasn't one to hand out insults like that well not in the tone she used "you have one too many clothes for me," she said, rejecting him "call me when you have your summer wardrobe on"
"but my love," Gray said, almost defeated.
"Okay, you might have a point, Carla," Natsu muttered. It was like watching an odd movie; what was going on and how it happened was still a mystery to the dragon slayer.
"Gray, you need to let it rest, man," Max said
"he's head over heels in love," Warren said, popping next to him as Nab ran out the door "does he ever take a break."
"Miss Cana," Macao asked, "care to join us for a drink."
"Yeah, take it easy for a sec," Wakaba asked.
"Oh, heavens, no," Cana said. "I've never had a drop of alcohol," she said, " so why start now."
"Okay, I think this world is affecting them," Natsu whispered. "Cana ever turns down a drink."
"not to mention she hates formal wear," Happy added.
"howdy, there my hot biscuit," Alzack went on.
"Alleycat, my little gunslinger," Bisca complimented before saying things in each other's ears, which, unfortunately, Natsu and Wendy could hear.
"Natsu," Wendy asked, sporting a blush, "what's a-"
"I'll tell you when you're older," Natsu interrupted
"hey," a voice called to the group, "what are you doing in here" they looked up, and to their shock, they saw Lucy giving them the stink eye, which shocked them even more.
"well," she asked before Natsu could continue. Lucy pulled him out before placing him in a chokehold revealing Natsu's pink hair "no escapes my Screwdrive Crush," Lucy shouted.
"Natsu," Macao and Cana said in almost utter shock. Cana then left as if to grab something behind them. Levy appeared virtually on the verge of tears.
"who," Lucy asked, stopping on top of the boy
"that's our old friend Natsu Lucy" Macao explained, "you never meet."
"oh," Lucy said, climbing down him, "gotta say I imagined you taller."
"hey," Natsu said, "what do you mean," he asked, "what are you guys talking about."
"Natsu," a voice called out, making Natsu freeze where he stood. 'I know that voice,' he said in his head as he slowly turned around. Time seemed to come to a halt as he saw her, the white hair, her blue eyes, everything "is that you" she muttered, her voice cracking
'it can't be,' Natsu muttered as everyone backed to give the two space 'she's here,' he muttered

now I bet you have questions and do not worry.; I will answer them in time, but first, I will say that this may be the only arc where I genuinely give a ship the spotlight. but it's for story reasons only, which I will explain when all is said and done. For now, I leave you with this cliffhanger and the knowledge that there will be multiple layers to my version of this arc, so as Scar would say, be prepared
