Hey, fairy tail fans, here we are with the next chapter in a fairy tail re-told.
Last time on a fairy tail re-told
Lucy: the trials of Tenrou Island have begun, and things are taking a turn for the worst
Erza: things aren't that bad, Lucy
Lucy: you're not the one having to fight Natsu
Erza: you're right; I'm fighting Gildarts
Lucy: never mind, your luck is way worse than mine.
Mavis sat alone. Near her was a mysterious structure with a bright light. She once again closed her eyes, allowing for the sounds of nature to fill the air as she started to once again meditate on current events "things aren't as they seem," she muttered "being here brings back memories, training, playing," she opened her eyes as a few spirits flies are going past her shaking the memories from her head she went back to mediating allowing the calm nature of the sounds of the Island to come over her. However, she soon heard the faint sounds of rumbling and explosions. She smiled as the light in front of her shined brightly again "sorry," Mavis muttered.
"It might be a little loud for the next few hours."
The meaning of strength
[## Assault the strongest Mage##]
Erza dodged another strike from Gildarts as Juvia came up from behind her "{water slicer}" she screamed as she sent out her attack at Gildarts; the water was soon turned into small cubes sending them back at her Erza changing to her Black wing armor slashed through the water and attempted blow at Gildarts only for to block with his mechanical arm using the other to shatter the ground beneath him lessening the impact from the collision.
"He destroyed the ground," Juvia thought in shock, "but now's my chance{water: nebula}" she created two columns of water, which rotated around each other she then shot her attack only for Gildarts to jump out of the way "damn it," Juvia called as Erza landed next to her.
"he's so strong," Erza let out breaths of air as her body started to glow again, "but I can't lose here" she then placed on her Flight armor before disappearing. She then attempted a slash appearing in her Purgatory armor which made Gildarts stumbled back.
"I see, so at the last second, she changed into a different armor," Juvia reasoned as she went up to Erza.
"I must say," Gildarts said smiling, " very few people have managed to make me move back like this," he stood utterly unfazed from her attack. "I can see why Natsu admires your strength."
"he's strong," Erza said, catching her breath 'I don't know why I'm surprised he could toss Natsu aside by barely lifting a finger." Erza changed her stance as she got ready to continue her fight against the powerful wizard. "Juvia, let's go."
on another route of the Island, Mira played around as Elfman and Evergreen attempted to land hits on her. "I got you now, sis," Elfman shouted as he tried to land a punch on her, only to catch it; she blew her finger as she tossed Elfman aside, sending him into the wall.
"{Fairy machine gun}" Evergreen screamed, attempting to land a surprise attack on Mira, who dodged the attack before countering.
"{Evil spark}" Mira shot Evergreen down as she smiled "don't tell me this is all you got"
"Not on your life, sis," Elfman shouted, standing up " a real man never quiets."
"Good," Mira said smiling, "now come and show me what you made off, little brother."
Lucy and Cana stared in terror in the caves as Natsu walked up to them "what are we going to do" Lucy asked.
"You know Natsu," Cana said, a smirk growing on her face. "I've wanted to settle the score between the two of us for now."
"huh"
"Well then," Natsu said, flaunting a come-on with fire at her, "show me what you're made off," he said as Cana soon shot out her cards Natsu jumped out of the way "you're going to have to do better than that."
"Reversed lighting," Cana shouted. Natsu was shot back, landing on his feet but noticed the cards Cana used "don't think I forgot, you're not too good against lighting magic" she smiled as Natsu shook it off.
"Right then {open gate of the Scorpion: Scorpio}" Scorpio came out smiling as Lucy stood next to him "look, I know Natsu is our ally, but today, go at him with everything you got"
"You got it, Lucy, wicked," he said as she shot a sand buster at Natsu, sending the dragon slayer further back, only for his fire to burst from the wall as Natsu stood up primarily unscathed from their attacks.
"That didn't do anything," Lucy asked.
"Then keep going. We need to get past him" Cana then threw several cards, which all exploded on impact as Natsu jumped from the smoke.
"{fire dragons: roar}"
"Ahh, that's hot," Lucy jumped as Scorpio grabbed her and jumped out of the way "why'd I'd let Loke go off with Gray."
"you're not taking us down, Natsu," Cana screamed "{Wind edge}" she called, sending a large gust of wind at Natsu, making him slide back a bit "you're not stopping me," she cried.
"Scorpio," Lucy cried,
"Right," Scorpio nodded. "{Sand buster}" soon, a giant sand tornado surrounded Natsu. Much to his surprise, he was completely immobilized.
"I must say I'm impressed," Natsu said, not moving from his spot. "I can tell you both have gotten strong," he smiled at the thought, "and I can see that you're both perfectly in sync." he smiled as he stood up, feeling his scarf blowing in the wind. "However, it'll take more than raw strength to win fights," he said before powering up and destroying the makeshift cage and shattering several rocks around him.
"No way," Cana muttered, "how did he"
"So, are you going to give up now?" Natsu asked as he stood up, giving them a smile
"Not on your life, dragneel," Cana shouted. "If I can beat you," she screamed, "then I know I'm stronger," she shouted as she jumped at Natsu. "I'll show you just how strong I am" as she slammed another card on the ground, "{The Prayer's Fountain}" an enormous torrent of water came out. Natsu jumped out of the way, but even he couldn't entirely dodge as the water sent him into a wall "be careful, Lu, this water will tear the skin off you."
An idea came over Lucy as she turned to Scorpio "Scorpio, I'm sending you back," she said as she closed his gate. He waved goodbye as Lucy looked at one of the fountains of water. "{open gate of the water bearer: Aquarius}" Aquarius appeared from the water, making it even larger attacking everyone in the room eve Cana and Lucy "what the hell Aquarius."
"Every time I see you, " Aquarius said, ignoring Lucy's remark, "you're wearing less and less clothing: she smiled. "Lucy's sweetie, you're never going to get any boys if you keep doing that"
"what's that supposed to mean" Lucy screamed, " I was swimming, I'll have you know."
"Do you want to get deep-fried" Cana screamed, ramming herself into Aquarius "do you not know the difference between friend or foe"
"I'm staying out of this," Lucy muttered.
"Every woman alive is my enemy," Aquarius shot back, " you think your hot stuff cause you're willing to let them show, huh" a sinister look grew on her face "Aww, poor thing, I didn't realize girls were so desperate these days."
"I bet you settled on the first ugly merman who showed you his trident," Cana shot back as the two glared at each other.
Aquarius "well, I'm done here," she smiled. "I'm going to hang out with my boyfriend. she said before vanishing"
"No need to rub it in," Lucy screamed.
"Well, that was entertaining," Natsu suddenly called as if he wasn't just thrown into a wall.
"Aye"
"How," Cana screamed, "that should have been enough to finish him."
"I think I've seen enough," Natsu looked to Happy "so little buddy, what score."
"I'd say a B minus at best while their teamwork is great. They get too distracted during fights, which could lead to someone getting hurt."
"But we haven't one," Cana said, stepping forward "how could you call me strong when I'm barely able to harm you" she screamed, getting more cards ready Natsu, fearing this would happen, let out a sigh.
"Cana"
"No, we're not done here," she screamed before stopping. Weight was in the air as the ground around them started to shake "what is" Cana looked at Natsu as an aura began to come from him. Lucy tried to move to her friend but was stopped as rocks around her started to lift from the ground.

"Natsu," Lucy thought as her friend started to release his full magic power at the girls, so much so that the Island began to send out tremors from the amount of magic energy that Natsu was sending out
In her spot, Mavis felt a smile work its way to her face "yes, that is Natsu," she said, looking back. "I wonder what's got him all worked up," she says "is it, Gray."
on their route, Erza and Juvia came to a stop "what is this" Juvia asked
"someone's releasing a large amount of magic power," Erza reasoned
"Natsu," Gildarts said, utterly unfazed by the amount of magic power in the air. "I guess he's giving someone an old lesson," he said, giving out a laugh
"that's Natsu," Erza asked
back in the cave, Lucy and Cana were paralyzed as they stood on the receiving end of Natsu's magic. It was as if a dragon was standing behind him as he glared at the two girls. His red eye was all they could see as fire surrounded the boy.
"What is this" Lucy muttered. "I knew Natsu was powerful, but this," she tried to move, but every instinct in her body told her to run that she stood no chance. "so much magic power."
Natsu stopped the rocks around them, falling to the ground as Cana and Lucy fell to their knees. "I," Cana started, tears forming in her eyes. "I admit defeat," she muttered before falling to the ground. "I can't; I'm not strong enough," she muttered. "I'll never be strong enough," Natsu sighed.
Flashback
Natsu felt fell to the ground Gildarts towered over him. The man had just unleashed his full magic power on the boy, and it filled Natsu with a sense of dread he had never felt before. The man didn't have a look of anger on his face but one of pity. For some reason, it made Natsu angry, but this fight was over. He could tell 'Gildarts is so strong,' Natsu thought to himself.
"Come on, Natsu," Gildarts said, "just give it a rest."
"I can't," he muttered "not strong enough," he muttered, "but you have so much."
"Natsu," Gildarts muttered, "I told you once," he said, "there's more to being a wizard than magical power" he looked at the boy whom he thought of as a son who right now was trembling "it's okay to admit you're afraid Natsu."
"I," Natsu started, "I just thought." he stopped, "if I were strong enough, I could find him."
"I see," Gildarts muttered, "you'll find Igneel," he smiled at him, "but it won't be your strength that gets you there."
"I'm so scared," Natsu muttered again tears were enow in his eyes as he looked to the ground "why."
[## Seigi no chikara ost##]
"Natsu," Gildarts smiled, "there's nothing wrong with fear," he said, getting the young man's attention." how else would we know our weaknesses, and we need to know them, to become a stronger and gentle person" he smiled at Natsu as he bent down to him "this feeling is natural for all of us."
"I," he looked up at Gildarts, who just smiled at him, "do you regret picking me."
"Wanna know a secret, kid," he said" from the moment we meet," he smiled at him, " I knew that you would be my successor."
End Flashback
Cana," Natsu muttered, making her look at him, "do you know why we chose you to participate in this."
"I don't know," Cana muttered.
"not because of your strength," Natsu told her "don't get me wrong, you're plenty strong, but we chose you because the people of Magnolia can look to you," he said, "just as well as they do me or Mira" he bent down on one knee to look her in the eyes." being too able to admit you're own weakness like you just did, makes you stronger than even me."
"Natsu," Cana muttered.
"many people fall into the trap of wanting more power," Natsu, "and sure, having power can get you far, but you'll hit a stopping point, and no matter what you do, you won't get past it," he said as he stood up and began to walk away "if you take nothing from this trial remember this, power is merely a stepping stone to true strength, to be truly strong you need to be able to accept what makes you weak."
as he walked away, "so that's why you passed, Cana" he looked at her, smiling at her as she stood up "you passed, but be ready. What Mavis has next will make this seem like a cakewalk," he laughed "we both know how she can be" this got a laugh from Cana "now get going" he gave her a wink "give it you're all."
"Right," Cana said, determination growing on her face as she and Lucy started to walk past him. He smiled as he turned to her "and Natsu," she said, "looking back, flashing her smile, "thank you for everything" Natsu said nothing as he waved her off.
In her spot, Mavis felt a smile form on her face as the light shined again "he has grown," Mavis muttered. The light shined again as Mavis laughed "yes," she muttered, "Cana."
"In their way, both have taken something from this experience."
