Hey fairy tail fans, and welcome to the 100th chapter of a Fairy tail re-told. I never thought I'd get this far with this story. But we are finally here, so I want to thank all of you for reading this story and all your reviews, which I appreciate. so, with all that out of the way, let's get back to the story

A little note before we get started, if anything, a few of you might have noticed or maybe not, that's why I'm placing this here. I changed Laxus and Cobra's magic to drakon slayer magic in both Nirvana and thunder legion arcs instead of the usual dragon slayer magic. I had Cobra explain it, but it is dragon slayer magic without any drawbacks and is said to be far more powerful than dragon slayer magic, so essentially all the second-gen dragon slayers will be referred to as drakon slayers. I'll go into more detail about this on my profile, but the main reason I did this is I wanted to add another dragon slayer(you'll see who it is soon), but I didn't want it to be eight, and this way technically there will only be about six.

there's a lot I want to do with the slayers of the series, but as of right now, I'm not too sure where to go yet, but drakon slayers will end up being the only added slayer type magic for now, anyway

Anyway, on to the story

Last time on a fairy tail re-told

Lucy: me and Cana, we're able to pass the first trial

Cana: don't celebrate just yet, Lucy; there's no telling what Mavis has planned for us next

Lucy: Right, let's stay vigilant. We can do this

Cana: I'll do my best

In Magnolia, the fairy pub was quieter than usual. People went about their day looking at the very few jobs across the board. On the main counter sat Makarov Dreyer Mavis had sent him a message asking him to come to Magnolia while she and the children were away on the job. Still, he wondered what could have been so important that it required both children to be away with her 'does it have to do with selecting Mystogen's replacement?' He wondered; looking over, he saw Kinana working the bar with a concerned look on her face "is everything all right, my dear" he asked, getting her attention.

"Umm," Kinana said, looking up suddenly, "oh master Makarov, umm yes, I'm fine," she smiled, "just a little nervous is all" she frowned. "Mira wanted me to take care of everything while she was gone." she looked down. "I guess you could say I'm skittish."

"Why so," Makarov asked, " from what I've seen, Mira's done a fine job of teaching you" he smiled at her.

"of course, she has," Kinana answered, a slight defensive of her current mentor "she even started teaching me magic," she smiled, "it's a slow process, but I think I'm getting the hang of it."

"Well, that's great," Makarov told her, smiling.

"Yes," a voice called Makarov turned to see Freed approaching, "it's as you always said, master, a true wizard is born from patience and determination" he smiled. "I'm sure Mira will make you a fine wizard, Kinana" he then turned to Makarov, "master, I would have to come to great you sooner, but I just got back from a job."

"No, it's alright," Makarov told him. "I take Evergreen and Bickslow are with you."

"Well, no," Freed told him. "Bickslow is currently at our apartment," he told him "however. Evergreen went on a job with Elfman yesterday," he informed the man, "though I don't know why," he looked to Kinana, who had a curious look on her face. "I wanted to ask Kinana if she knew the job they took."

Kinana shook her head. "Sorry, Freed, I think Mira handled that one, and I don't think she placed it in the completed order box."

"I see," Freed said as Makarov scratched his chin. That was certainly an odd pair; however, a part of him was glad that the thunder legion was starting to branch out a little more, but still, he had to wonder if this sudden team-up was connected to Mavis leaving as she did

"In any case," Makarov stated, catching both of their attention, "we shouldn't worry so much about what our friends are up to," he said as Freed and Kinana nodded.

Mest

On Tenrou Island, Carl paced around the group's current camp during their stay on Island. She had been nervous about Wendy and her vision ever since Mest had asked her to be his partner "are you alright, Carla" Lily's voice caught her attention.

"she only gets like this when she's furious," Happy said, "I think she and Wendy got into another argument."

"No, it's just," Carla admitted, "she knew I didn't want her to take any part of this," Carla grumbled, "but she went and did it anyway."

Flashback

"You're Mystogen pupil," Wendy asked

"I'm surprised Mystogen never mentioned me because he told me all about you," he said as his face pointed up "don't mind me just trying to find out what fresh snow tastes like"

"Umm," Wendy muttered

"This guy is a creep," Carla muttered

"I need your help with something," he said, "and I know I can do it with you by my side."

"You could at least look her in the eye," Carla screamed.

"Sorry," Mest muttered now in the nearby river. "I had to do it; I had to know what it felt like to lay in a river in the middle of winter."

"Umm," Wendy muttered, "he's weird, but he doesn't seem like a bad person. and besides, I feel like I owe Mystogen to help him."

"You don't need to," Carla told him. "You saved all of Edolas," she countered

"Only cause the others were there," Wendy told her. "I don't think I would have been able to do it on my own"

End flashback

"Then, when Mavis told us the full story" "Carla looked away. "I have a bad feeling about all of this."

"Do you think it's your clairvoyance," Lily asked.

"I can't say," Carla muttered, "all I see are images."

"don't feel so down about it," a voice called the pair turned to see Mavis approaching "the fact that you could see anything allows us to be a little more prepared for it."

"I understand, Mavis," Carla said, "but it still doesn't take away my worry."

"I know," Mavis said, "which is why I let the two of you come," she said "you, along with Happy, will be our eyes in the sky if you see anything out of the ordinary. you should let me, Natsu, or Mira know about it."

"I understand," Carla muttered, looking over Mavis. She wondered if this was a thought projection too.

"I suggest we keep an eye on that Mest fellow," Lily said, "something you said doesn't sit right with me; he was Mystogen disciple, " Lily muttered. "I find that odd"

In another part of the Island, Mest was engaged by team Gray "can I ask you two something" Mest said, "does your power allow you to be so cocky" he asked as smirks grew on their faces.

"Watch out," Wendy called, "here They come," as Loke jumped up to Mest, knocking him back. Wendy jumped out of the way.

"Gotta say," Loke muttered, "I feel bad for having to kick your butt, Wendy."

"Well, I'm not going easy on ya, kid," Gray shouted as he got ready. "{Ice make: Hammer}" he called, launching a hammer made of ice at them as Mest appeared behind him "a sneak attack, huh" Gray smiled as he punched Mest back.

"Grant me the power of the heavens{Sky dragons: roar}."

"Oh, Regulus, grant me your strength," Loke screamed as he shot a beam to counter Wendy's roar. As the attacks collided, he felt himself be pushed back by the sheer force of the attack "man. I didn't know you were this powerful," Loke muttered.

"I got your back," Gray called as he slammed his fist on the ground sending ice across the floor, making Wendy slip on and nearly fall to the ground.

"Now," Gray called as he and Loke turned to attack Mest, only for him to dodge out of the way. Loke shined his magic Mest had to block his eyes as Gray fired his ice, making Cannon knock the boy out.

"Now that just leaves Wendy," Gray called. He smiled as she backed up, "I told you I wouldn't go easy on ya kid" he smiled as his expression grew serious, "ultimate secret art, eat a bunch of pickled plums" Gray wolfed down some pickled plums that he had brought just for this occasion which made his lips pucker from the sourness.

"Oh no," Wendy muttered. Fear was written across her face as she started to back away "so sour," she muttered, "just the sight of them makes my lips start to pucker; I need to get out of here," she screamed, only to run into Loke, who was holding his Jar of pickled plums.

"Receiveth of regulus," he screamed as the Jar started to shine much like Gray. His face started to pucker as well as One could hear Wendy's scream all across the Island.

On the other hand, Elfman and Evergreen were petrified with fear as Mira walked up to them, her magic power leaking out as her eye shined bright red.

"This is crazy," Evergreen muttered. "there's no way we can win," she said

"Oh, don't tell me you're giving up now." she smiled "come on."

"I'll try this" Evergreen took off her glasses only for Mira to jump out of the way "nice try, but that spell doesn't work if I avoid looking you in the eyes," then kicked Evergreen in the stomach, sending her back into the rock.

"I'm not losing here, sis," Elfman screamed "{Beast soul}" he shouted as he attempted to fight Mira gain only for her to land a devastating punch on his stomach, forcing him out of the transformation.

"it's over," Mirajane muttered as she got ready to finish them off as Evergreen stood in her way "what trying to stop me."

"No," Evergreen muttered. She knew Mira, and she was just the one thing to bring her back to the sweet girl she was underneath, "but before you do, there's something you should know."

Once again, there was a scream from her spot. Mavis winced in pain as she looked up "that was Mira," she muttered, "last time she screamed like that, nearly all the windows in Magnolia broke" the light in front of her shined "yes, I did have to pay for them" she sighed "she was grounded for a month too."

'Thank goodness there are no windows on this Island'

Gildarts smiled as Erza landed across from him. their battle had almost destroyed the areas around them, and the man seemed to be barely warming up.

"Juvia doesn't know how much longer she can go on," Juvia muttered, "feeling tired."

"If you need a break, stay back," Erza told her. 'I'm not going to lie,' Erza muttered to herself. "I'm almost as exhausted as she is' she readied her stance, "but I can't give up here."

Gildarts smiled as he lowered his guard again "well, congratulations Erza, you pass."

"What," Erza asked, confused as Gildarts walked up to her

"Here," he smiled, "these have herbs that will help restore some of your magic power" he smiled. He took out pieces of cake and handed them to the two girls

"But I didn't win," Erza asked as she took

"there's more to being a wizard than winning fights," Gildarts told her. "It's about being able to help those who can't help themselves, standing up for the little guy if you will," he walked back, looking at the area around him, "and you've shown me you have what it takes."

"I don't," Erza started looking away.

"Now, don't give me that," Gildarts told her. "I'm your examiner, and I say you pass" he smiled at her. "Natsu was right about you. you have courage and a will to stand up for whatever cause you believe in" he smiled at her. "I do not doubt in my mind that whatever comes next, you can handle it,"

back in the Caves, Mest came to; he jumped up, ready for a fight" with as powerful as those two are, they have every right to be arrogant," he muttered, "come out and face me."

"Umm, Mest," Wendy muttered. "I hate to break it to you," Wendy muttered, but we lost."

"what" he screamed

"I'm sorry," Wendy muttered as she let out a few sniffs, "maybe if I was stronger.

Mest said nothing as he looked at the girl "hey, we tried our best," he smiled, "there's always next time."

Lucy and Cana had walked out of the Cave. Natsu's words still rang through their heads as they came to the next part of their trial "man," Lucy muttered. "Natsu is powerful," she said, trying to start a conversation with the girl."

"Yeah," Cana muttered.

"And that stuff at the end," Lucy smiled "do you think he meant what he said " this was enough to get Cana to stop as a smile came across her face.

"He meant every word," she said, thinking back to the encounter which earned a confused look from Lucy. "I haven't seen him smile like that," she muttered "it's been so long since he had a genuine smile on his face," she thought back to when they were younger when Natsu would smile all the time, a smile so contagious it made everyone in the room start smiling as well "over the years it went away" she muttered.

"Cana," Lucy muttered.

"It's nothing," Cana said "come on," she told her. "Let's do this," she said, grabbing her friends and leading them to the next spot where they saw Gajeel and Levy, along with Gray and Loke "he looks who made it through," Cana muttered.

"Everyone here," another voice called, which turned out to be Erza and Juvia, who lit up once she saw Gray.

"Yep," Elfman shouted as he and Evergreen stumbled into the area, "just barely.

"The only team that didn't make it was Mest and Wendy," Lucy muttered

"Yeah," Gray said, "we encountered them."

Mavis once again appeared in front of them, giving the group a feeling of wind passing by "well done on passing your trials, everyone," she smiled as she walked up to them. "I hope no matter what route you choose that you learned something from experience."

Gajeel grumbled something as Levy jabbed him in the side. Mavis let out a giggle at the antics as she found her composer "now, as for your second trial, which will determine the winner of this contest," she said, getting everyone's attention, "hidden on this Island is an altar, one bath with eternal light" she said, "the team who finds this alter will advance to the next round."

"Alright," Levy shouted," come on, Gajeel" she jumped out and grabbed his arm, pulling the man away as everyone else started to follow, hoping to figure out what MAvsi was talking about 'Mest and Wendy were knocked out' she thought to herself 'interesting.'

Mest and Wendy sat against the rocks as the girl finished crying "look, I know your down, but thank you," he said "as I said, there's always next time" he smiled "one day, I will be able to follow in my master's footsteps" he said "speaking of which" he asked, "you're close to Natsu right."

"of course," Wendy smiled, "ever since I came here, he has been helping me with my dragon slayer magic." she smiled, "he and Erza have done a lot for me."

"So has he told you why this Island is so special to Mavis," Mest asked. "I've never been here, so I don't know."

Wendy shook her head "in fact. This is my first time learning about it too. Before now, I thought Mavis was born in Magnolia."

"That is odd," Mest said, standing up "how about this," he asked, a smile coming across his face, "how about we go exploring? "I'm sure they won't mind. Wendy perked up at this idea, a huge smile coming across her face. She stood to leave, failing to notice the sinister smile that came over Mest's face as she watched the young girl leave 'looks like I'm getting closer than I thought I would.'

back at the base camp Natsu and Mira had since arrived and started to relax after their fights. "I must say Natsu," Mira said as she stood over a pot of food, she was cooking, "I think what you did for Cana was nice" she smiled. "I'm glad you two are starting to get along again."

"And you," Natsu muttered, "how could let a simple trick like that drop your guard."

"I must say it is a little embarrassing, but I thought it was clever." Mira shot back

"Aye," Happy said as he munched on some fish. next to him was Carla, who had some tea, and Lily, who was eating Kiwis

"So Gajeel made it to the next round," Lily asked.

"Aye, sir," Happy told him, "He and Levy ended up on the scenic route."

"I bet he wasn't too happy about that," Lily joked "hey didn't Mest and Wendy lose to Gray and Loke, right."

"Now that you mention it," Mira said, "I remember telling everyone that you have to meet back here once you're out." Mira muttered, "I hope they're okay." the main reason was that this island was dangerous, and it was super easy to get lost. While it didn't look big, you'd be surprised at how big it was

"Speaking of Mest," Lily asked, "there was something that's been bothering me," he said, "as I recall the prince, I mean Mystogen avoided contact during his time in earth land, right."

"now that you mention it," Natsu said, sitting up, "my memory of him has been a little hazy," Natsu said "Like I know he was there, but every time I look back, I can't seem to place it right," Natsu said, "and yeah, every time he came back to make a report he would either meet Mavis in the woods or make everyone in the pub fall asleep."

"So why would he take a student," Lily asked as Natsu looked concerned.

"Then we need to find them," Natsu said

"Natsu," Mira muttered, "is something wrong."

"I don't like this," Natsu said "come on, Happy," he said, "we'll get a better view from the air."

"Aye"

"I'm coming too," Carla said. "Wendy could be in danger."

"Alright, then you and Lily go together," Natsu said "if you find them bring them here" he looked at Mira.

"Sis," Natsu asked, "let me know if they come here."

"Right," Mira answered as Happy grabbed Natsu and lifted him. "Be safe," she called as they all flew away. 'Mest,' Mira wondered, "why don't I remember that name'? She scratched her chin as she was left to her solitude.

All over the Island, members of the trial ran from the various monster that inhabited the Island. One pair was Elfman and Evergreen "a real man doesn't run from danger."

"Would you shut up about being a real man" Evergreen shouted as the two stumbled into a small cave? As the monster stopped when Evergreen came to, she saw herself wrapped in Elfman's arms "oh no," she screamed, her face turning red as she pushed him away, "don't go thinking just cause of what I said to Mira means I'm interested in you" she shouted.

"where's this coming from," Elfman asked, "but I gotta admit that was pretty smooth, Ever."

"Only my friends can call me that," Evergreen said, puffing her cheeks.

"But we are friends," Elfman shot back

"You know what I meant," she shouted

[##Zerefs melancholy ost##]

"People," a voice called. They turned to see a young man. He was wearing high-collared black, and tan robes with gold trim and a large, flowing white toga draped around his torso. He has short black hair, dark eyes, and abnormally sharp canines. a pendent was around his neck as he looked at them. "I thought this Island was abandoned."

"Well, it's not," Elfman said "this is my master's home," he said, "and you're trespassing."

"I am," he said, backing up. Elfman moved, but he held out his hand "no wait." he screamed, "please stay back."

"What is he going on about" Evergreen muttered.

"No," he said, clutching his face the leaves around him, "please, you need to run," he screamed as a black wave struck the air killing everything around him.

"Get down," someone shouted as Elfman and Evergreen felt pushed hard towards the ground. above them was Natsu, who had forced them to the ground to avoid the attack and looked at the man with anger

"Who the hell are you" he screamed; however, the man said nothing as he looked at Natsu, shock coming over his face as tears began forming in his eyes.

"Natsu"
